I absolutely love this book, the recipes in it are so easy to make and the recipes feature items that most kitchens have or ones that are easy and cheap to find in a store.

I have made lots of recipes from this book (including tonight making the honey chili chicken!) and each one has been easy to follow and easy to make, I do also make some meals from their blog as there is some slightly different recipes on it. The meals are full of flavour but don't leave you with the feeling of having eaten something that is bad for you.

If you are looking at tasty quick easy meals then I would recommend this book

The book is very appealing to the eye and the recipes are laid out well. I enjoyed looking through it. However, I was disappointed that only the calories were listed. There are many types of diets out there that track more than calories. It would have made it a bit more simple for various readers if fat, carbs, etc., were also mentioned.

There were a lot of weekly indulgences too and I didn't think they really belonged in a health and weight loss cookbook.

So I ended up with 4 pages tabbed of recipes I will try, so that's promising, depending on how the recipes turn out. I liked that most recipes had photos and the entire book was in lovely color. I don't follow the blog of the same name, but I enjoyed paging through this.

This book was ok.

The benefits here:
* There is a lot of colour in foods.
* There are some really good recipes.
* Though I know it's mainly for Slimming World, however most of the recipes that can be adapted to the readers own needs.

The cons I felt were:
* A lot of the stuff in the recipes you probably wouldn't have in your cupboards unless you're a massive spice connoisseur.
* I feel that though the recipes are good they lack the need to do something quick for dinner/tea - this is not a book you'd refer to if you needed to make something pretty fast. Not that it's complex the recipes seem easy or moderate enough for some people but I do think that you'll end up buying a lot of stuff and spices etc that maybe you wouldn't usually use and therefore it becomes costly rather than interesting to see what you can eat. And whilst they are slimming they're not really helping your bank balance.
* The other thing is, I didn't feel that they were that traditional, maybe there were things in there that I wouldn't usually make but there was far more recipes that didn't quite suit my palate maybe other people have been the same. Idk.

* I think it's probably well executed but it's not something that I will use as I don't like the content of most of the recipes, so I'm glad that I didn't buy it but if I had, I'd be quite disappointed and I am already a little bit because I was looking forward to trying out some new and nice recipes but I just feel that they don't seem that nice or are things I wouldn't eat even though they might taste really nice. Some of recipes would be really rich for me and whilst I'm up for anything would I spend excess on items I don't have in my cupboard to try them? Probably not. I guess it's personal preference.

3/5 stars.

got this yesterday n lots of the recipes are ones I have seen elsewhere in other cookbooks (as I buy a lot) but are tweaked a bit in this book to make the recipe theirs I suppose.
categories are breakfasts, fakeaways, quick meals, stews and soups, bakes and roasts, snacks and sides, sweet treats.
the doner kebab recipe, basically a meatloaf, says "you can freeze it once cooked provided the beef hasn't already been frozen", well if the raw mince was frozen then thawed in fridge before cooking it it would be fine to freeze leftovers as long as it was cooled n chilled down quickly n frozen.
still a good book, as some recipes give instructions for oven, pressure cooker or slow cooker if applicable, I just was hoping it was gonna be different from the healthy recipes I already have from eat well for less and the diet books from Justine Pattison n Tom kerridge.
feel I fell for the hype as lots of the recipes are very similar to how I already cook.
the recipes are cleary set out with tips and calorie counts as expected.
it would be a good first start diet book I suppose. only 3 recipes I want to try, the carrot cake overnight oats, the diet cola chicken and the eclairs.
life's just too short to stuff a strawberry :)

Disappointing.

Waited soo long for this. Thought it would have SW recipes like website, but really struggled to find a recipe I actually fancied. Not what I thought it would be. Boring stuff, actually and too many 'weekly indulgence and special occasion' recipes! Dull recipes too high in calories for the most part. Shame.

This is probably the best cookbook I have ever owned. I’ve made several recipes from this and the whole family have enjoyed them. I love that they are tasty and properly healthy. Hurrah for this, I waited so long for it and it is even better than I expected.

Wanting to lose weight but are fed up with salad and no dressing? Do you find trying to work out the calories/syns value of meals takes too much time so resort to preprepared foods when you'd rather cook it yourself? Fed up with same old tomato based sauces when you really fancy takeaway? Then this book could be for you.
Born from a food blog which was meant to encourage people to cook tasty lower calorie food from scratch, this book is packed with ideas. Each recipe is calorie counted so can be incorporated into other diet plans if liked. They are also coded with food for every day and then some are more indulgent for treats and celebrations. The whole family could eat healthier without knowing they are on a diet. Also there are suggestions for adapting for alternative diets like vegan, or dairy free diets.

Excellent, genuinely use many of the recipes regularly.

I can't be the only one that buys cook books and never actually makes any of the recipes in them - done this so often. This book is not like that. Not only have I made many of the dishes, a number of them are now part of our regular menu. Great if you are trying to be a little healthier but still want to enjoy food.

Website is great too so would recommend checking that out as well.

I probably shouldn’t have tried this book because I’m not making a concerted effort to lose weight, and there’s a few things that are mainstays of their strategy that involve shopping changes I’m not going to make for a book I just took out of the library - like switching to cooking spray and sweeteners. There’s some nice ideas, but I found the meals were only ok.(I rated this 3.5 on StoryGraph which permits half point scores)
