I really enjoyed this story. I've always loved books that involve disabled characters especially blind or deaf ones since you don't read many of those. This book is even rarer because you don't see many with blind vampires in them. At least, I only know of a few.

The fact Lexis is a blind vamp is one of the reasons I loved this story so much. Bryce, a bossy werewolf takes it upon himself to take care of Lex (even against his wishes). Bryce was pretty bossy but extremely hot in the way he handled Lex. Lex, on the other hand, is very stubborn and considering how weak he was for years, very determined to become independent.

The story is easy to read because the chemistry between Lex and Bryce is fascinating. I had a few complaints about the book, however. I would have liked to see Bryce and Lex being held captive. I also would have liked to know the characters as individuals a bit more. Aside from that, there was a lot of sex in the first half or so then after that the story was extremely rushed. I was also upset at the way Bryce completely disregarded Lex's wishes to let the past die, too.

Even with that all said, I really liked the story. It was easy to stick to and the plot is one that keeps you wondering what is going to happen next and how the characters will deal with it. I miss the fact Cheetah didn't have much of a role, though. I hope there's more to come for him because he was a a sarcastically funny man. And I want more of him!

I loved this story. Just about read it straight through, but sleep won out. This is a pretty fast-paced book with interesting characters. Bryce is the big sexy werewolf who, along with his friend Cheetah, an alchemist, break out of a research facility where they were being experimented on, taking the blind vampire, Lexis, with them.

Bryce takes it upon himself to look after Lex and to help acclimate him to freedom being blind. Unfortunately, Cheetah parts ways and heads off in another direction, and we don't really see him again.

Bryce and Lex are great together. Bryce helps Lex, albeit against Lex's wishes, to get back at the coven who betrayed him and took his sight.

My only real problem and reason for shorting this the 5 stars was that the story felt rushed at times and I felt like information was being withheld. I would have liked to see a bit more of their time before the breakout, and maybe some more details about the individual characters. I would love to see these guys again in a sequel, perhaps one about Cheetah!

This was a great read - a werewolf and a vamp together, all I needed to finish off my fantasy was a hot rock star to join the mix. :P But seriously, I really liked it and the only reason it got a 4 1/2 was the length - I just wanted to know more about what happens to them, where they go, what happened at the IEC lab. I wanted to know about Cheetah too

Lexis is a wonderful character - all broken but still with some hints of pride and determination left, and did I mention when he gets all worked up, he's hotter than hell. Bryce is a sweetheart, a huge, sometimes aggressive sweetheart but one nonetheless. I love how gentle he is with Lex, even in wolf form.

The confrontation with the vamps was brutal and probably just what Lex needed to regain not only his eyesight but his wounded pride and feeling of usefulness. I think he and Bryce would have done fine together even if Lex hadn't been able to see again but it was such a joy to experience him seeing Bryce for the first time, and we all know that Bryce was not going to let some elder vamp get away with hurting his "mate".

Did I also mention there are a couple really freaking hot scenes, too. *wipes sweat* A werewolf submissing to a vamp - holy hell.

I am torn. I liked the idea of this story, a captured blind vampire is saved by a werewolf and there is an instant attraction and friendship. The vampire begins to get his confidence back as well as falling in love with the noble and loyal Bryce.

Like I said in my update, this was more erotica than erotic romance. The sex scenes (numerous) were more explicit and rough rather than romantic.

I really liked the ending, in the big battle and could have wished the storyline to have been fleshed out now.

Overall, this was an ok read, but nothing exceptional. If you are in the mood for a quick and hot vampire/were PWP, then this book is for you.

Неплохой рассказ о вампире и вервульфе, которые спаслись из лаборатории, где над ними ставили опыты. Вампир ослеплен своим ковеном, но отомстит.

What do you get when you put a blind vampire and a werewolf together in one room? Why of course, you get a smashing love story! I had never seen books of this author get around but I ended up downloading this one as the summary looked interesting and captivating enough.

Bryce, a werewolf, Cheetah an alchemist have managed to escape a torture facility that experiments on them for "scientific reasons". With them they have dragged Lexis, a blind vampire out to the road to escape. Lexis knows that he will be a big burden on them and refuses to accompany. What does our big bad wolf do? He just carries Lexis and dumps him in the car. Thus begins the journey of Bryce and Lexis (Cheetah conveniently parts way within couple of pages).

Lexis is blind but that wasn't the fault of the experiments conducted on him by the "pharmaceutical company". It was his coven leader who punished him for his excesses and his vanity. But Bryce doesn't let him wallow in his sadness and tries to pull him out of the "poor me" attitude. The interaction between Bryce and Lexis is done so light-heartedly and breezily that I didn't even realize how soon the werewolf has become a habit for the blind vampire (as well as for me!). As Lexis points out, Bryce has a streak of nobility in him which pushes him to teach the blind vampire how to be aware of his surroundings, how to identify the number of people in the room. He even gets Lexis a cane for blind people and teaches him how to get his bearing of his surroundings using that. Lexis had started out grudgingly liking the imposing and forceful werewolf but soon comes to know that he has fallen in love with him totally and completely. Earlier where his fear was that he wouldn't be able to see EVER, now his fears are that if he gains his eyesight he would lose his werewolf, as Bryce might think that his role as a "seeing-eye" for Lexis is over.

Bryce is noble. He is noble enough to think that his Lexis can regain eyesight if he drinks the ancient vampire's blood - the same vampire who was Lexis' coven leader and was the reason why he is blind. No matter how many times Lexis dissuades, he has this theory in his head that if he is successful exacting revenge, then his vampire can be a whole person. Even with this noble intention he fears that once Lexis regains his eye-sight, he will see how Bryce looks in reality and he might leave.

Even their role in the bedroom is changed because of their physical attributes and nature. The pushy and forceful Bryce with all his bulk and strength becomes the "bottom" and Lexis with his blindness and his frailty becomes the dominant top. That in itself showed the control that both of them gave each other. The sex scenes that were described didn't gross me out - although others might feel uncomfortable. I have to appreciate that the author gave enough importance to both the characters being paranormal/ supernatural beings so the sex was also a bit, ahem, bloody and furry. *grin*

I have to confess that the final scenes (or the climax) in the book gave me slight case of ulcers. It was so very well done that I was at the edge of my couch clutching my computer in my hand and biting my lip. The confrontation with the coven leader, the violence and the turn of events were amazing and it couldn't have been written any better. What Bryce and Lexis end up with was well-deserving and it wasn't handed over to them in a silver platter. They earned it!

I will definitely keep an eye out for this author's books and search out more.

I enjoyed the way the author changed up the supernatural aspects by making the vampire blind. Using first-person POV was also interesting in that the reader is just as blind as he is.

Mya didn't hold back and, instead, let these guys be monsters. I really enjoyed that. She let the werewolf be big and furry. Yay! She let the vampire wallow in his fallen status and try to clothe himself in the tattered remains of his previous arrogance. Sweet! I get so tired of the perfect and gentle monsters and this book was a really nice reprieve from them.

My only issues were 1) the editing was pretty bad, leaving tons of missed words and repeated words. And 2) I think some of the sex scenes needed to be cut and perhaps more of the exciting parts added to. I enjoy the sex scenes, believe me, and I appreciated the way Mya handled them, using not only sensuality, but also emotions. I just wanted a bit more of the other kind of action. I mean, the story started out with a daring escape from a research facility. It left for a yen for more, so for me, things got a bit tedious stuck in a blind man's head while hiding out in a hotel room. Otherwise, I thought the book was a nice change from the typical supernatural stories.

Hmm.. What to say, how to review..

This is a story about a blind Vamp and a Wolf..

Sounds promising enough, right?

And I guess it was. I mean its a cute love story, but make sure you're into animalistic sex though.. These two go at it, when Wolf-boy is exactly that.. a wolf..

I think this was my first story with sex in wolf form, or at least where its just one of the people thats a wolf.. And it was kinda weird reading about a tail being in the way of rimming.. But hey.. To each his own.. lol

If you're into M/M wolf sex with a love story intertwined, I guess this is perfect for you.. ;O)

Paranormal...not always my thing. To be honest, I'd avoid it if I could. But un/lucky for me Shifters was called for bingo last week and I needed to pick something. In all honesty my reason for picking this book was length and sex in shifted form...yup, that's right I wanted that 'animal' sexin'!

The book/story confused me slightly and I wasn't sure if I loved it or hated it but I will say that it was intriguing and full of hott sex. I did enjoy the Vampire & Wolf relationship. The characters were interesting a not so perfect vampire...love that idea! Overall good bones and it made me not want to claw my eyes out as I read it...that's a plus in my book!

I really like this story. The sex scenes were hot, there was an actual plot. I liked both Lexis and Bryce. I liked how the author wrote with out much description of the main protagonists' looks until the end. I wished it was just a bit longer to go into more detail about the both characters' background. There are editing issues but it does not detract from the story.

P.S. I loved that Bryce was willing to give control to his partner to help him with his disability. A blind vampire, who'd have thought about that?

An interesting story about a vampire and a werewolf. I thought the contrast between the two main characters was strong - with the alternating dominance. At first I was not too fond of Lex - unsure whether I was supposed to like him or pity him. His metamorphosis shifted me to the like category. I found this a very unusual story - sex in shifted form being something I haven't read a lot of. Pretty unique!

I really enjoyed the story, but... IT WAS OVER TOO SOON.
Jokes aside, I liked how the story developed even though I felt it a little bit rushed at the end.
The first part of the story when Lexis was so vulnerable and suspicious, seeing him slowly starting to trust and desire Bryce pulled on my heartstrings. It was really endearing and I just wanted to protect them both.

So, I recommend this book to anyone who likes hurt/comfort, a little of dominant-submissive tendencies , and a sexy love story.
If you are concerned with how Lexis disability was portrayed, I really liked how it showed him becoming more independent by his own will and not imposed on him, and Bryce was there to support, but not to outshine him.
My only complaint with the author is
So I'm all up to a sequence. I'm not over this boys!

The blurb was intriguing and the book definitely didn’t disappoint.

Lex was broken and damaged but most importantly, had given up on life itself. One stubborn wolf saves him and ends up changing his life in more ways than one. Lex’s disability left him feeling insecure, inadequate and a burden - his inner turmoil was explored really well.

The chemistry between Bryce and Lex was insane.

For me, the only thing missing was Bryce’s POV. I always felt like there was a lot more to their connection like a mating bond but although it was lightly touched upon, it was never explored whether they were or weren’t mates.

I LOVED this MM erotic romance. It's pretty short - and there's not a whole lot of relationship development due to the length - but I honestly just loved these two together! It's insta-lust turned to love and the smutty scenes are 🔥🔥🔥.

Storyline: A blind vampire (Lexis) and a protective werewolf (Bryce) escape from a human experimental facility and grow close as the vampire learns to adapt without his sight.

I'm definitely going to check out more of Mya Lairis' work after this.

It's not for me. Lexis is not acting like a vampire at all and this is just a PWP, which I am not looking for in books. It wasn't well-written imo either.

Worth it!!!!

Sweet romance seasoned with a nice plot. Enough action-intrigue-suspense to keep you on reading, but not nothing extreme. I recommend that book.

Surprisingly this was really good.
I liked the somewhat new theme of a blind vampire - haven't read that one before - who falls in love with a werewolf.
The action was nice and I really liked the writing style.
I would have loved if the book could have beena bit longer, but whatever.
It was a good afternoon read.

Lexis is a vampire kept captive in a lab. He was betrayed by his coven and blinded and soon after the Institute of Evolutionary Divergence found him and used him as a guinea pig. Lexis knows that there are other supernatural beings in the lab with him, but he has no reason, of force, to fight back.

Bryce takes the matter in hands. A strong werewolf, but with a big and good heart in him, he destroys the lab, and when Lexis shows no willingness to escape, he takes him. If Lexis doesn't want to fight, Bryce will fight for both of them. And so begins this strange relationship, between a bulky werewolf who likes to be a puppy in bed, and a weak vampire who like to be a top. Bryce will help Lexis to reawakens his desire of life, and Lexis will find that having a werewolf on the leash could be very interesting.

Lexis is a very proud man. He hates to be depending on the others, and even the smallest prove of independence makes him happy. Bryce is very good in waiting and being ready to take full advantage of Lexis, when the man is riped to be pick.

An Unnatural Worth is a smooth tale. A right dose of romanticism, funny and sexiness. It's a light book, that appeals those seeking a paranormal erotic tale to spend a lazy night without worries.

Eh. I thought Bryce was a dick actually. I thought he was arrogant and not even a little bit fun. I wished Cheetah had a bigger role. He was fun :)

I did like Lexis, but I didn't get the whole feeding from someone else to show his independence.

I thought Lexis lost his sight months ago, but then later it said years. Years didn't make sense, actually. If it were years wouldn't he have been able to adapt more easily? I mean, he was still bumping into things and getting lost easily. If he had been blind for years I would have thought he would be used to using his other senses to help him 'see'.

Overall, not a bad Sunday read. I think I needed more background on both of them.

This starts off well enough... Bryce, a werewolf, and a Lex, a vampire, break out of a sinister facility that does experiments on their kind. From break out to road trip escape I had high hopes but aside from the unusual vamp/were attraction and Lex’s dependence on Bryce because of his disability, this story really didn’t do much for me. I’m not a fan of the writing style and the middle of the book bogged down into one sex scene after another. Ok, some of it was hot...what with the ‘rougher tongue laving balls’ part and me trying to envisage a downy covered cock-head... (yo, hot, but no knotting!!! how can that be?) restlessness ensued, waiting, waiting for something to happen.

The story is built around Lex’s blindness -- he’s made blind by the leader of his coven as a punishment -- how he deals with it and Bryce’s wish to find a way to heal him and get vengeance. All fine and dandy but it’s a bit too wordy, Lex’s self pity got tiring, for a short read the climax took too long coming, and...meh...I’m left wanting something more than interspecies PWP.

I enjoyed this way to much.
Bryce was wonderful. Lexis, eventually I liked. The drama was brief. But I couldn't help but really like the relationship.

Sex in shifted form....I actually kinda like books with it. Normally it's pretty glossed over.
couldn't really ignore that.
=) If you're gonna go for it...OWN IT, and Mya Lairis did.

re-read 12/12/17

I remembered nothing about this story. I know I read it, and after reading my review, I did recall the moving the tail out of the way, for oral sex. The rest of the story, I blanked. So it was pretty much a whole new read for me. I still liked it. I wish it was longer and more indepth. Bryce was very sweet. He gave Lexis what he needed. Support when he needed it, stood back when Lexis needed to do it himself. He let Lexis be in charge, because it's what Lexis needed to feel equal.
The only time he pushed, is when Lexis wouldn't have moved forward without it.

I reeeally liked this book! I have to say it was a bit on the short side (though perfect for now because I had to read this for a challenge and was already behind) and I felt that all happened in such a short amount of time or it just seemed that way. I was also a bit disappointed

The good points of this book, however, made me forget the lesser ones, such as:

1) Characters with a disability are awesome. It's so great to read about what goes through their mind and how their other senses can be stimulated more
2) It's written in first person pov, which I prefer when reading a book because I feel that I can connect with the main character more this way
3) The characters are so likable. I love their chemistry together, they're just a really great couple!

This is why I don't mind giving this book 5 stars. I know it's one I'll be able to re-read over and over again!

I had some difficulty towards Lexis disability. While I can understand how his blindness (in more ways than one) could really be a problem for him considering how much he relied on it before, I did have some issues with his pity filled voice. I also don't understand why he always seemed to be okay with his limitations. Not those caused by his disability but by his own making. I'd also have liked a more thorough view of their world and background. There were a lot of holes I had to fill with my own musings and some didn't make sense. Were vampires dead or alive? Because they had heartbeats. Why were werewolves stronger? Kind of weird, that one Where were Bryce's family? Did he have none? What? Too much unknown and not enough trust. Enjoyable but not good. Nice HEA tho. And the sex was pretty hot.

An Unnatural Worth is a well written and fast paced story of love between two men separated by experience, culture and kind. Lexis is a cultured and educated vampire, while Bryce is a large, tender hearted and determined werewolf. Mya does an excellent job describing the growing relationship between these two dissimilar men, as fate and circumstances test their dedication and spirit, as well as their passion and commitment to each other.

The sexual encounters between Lexis and Bryce are hot, intense and passionate. Written in first person, this complex story is emotionally engaging and satisfying. I only wish that it hadn’t been written in first person so I could have seen what was going on through Bryce’s mind.

The basic idea for An Unnatural Worth was very good and on the whole both of the MCs were likeable and distinctive. However, I did have some problems with the writing, I found it confusing, but that could just be me, since English isn't my first language.

The emotional roller coaster was somewhat hard to read but I suppose necessary as Lexis had been blinded and both the guys had been captives for a long time.

Reminded me of my love of vampires and werewolves, Bruce and Lexis have incredible chemistry. I loved how much Bryce took care of Lexis, but also tried to push him to be independent and supported him it was adorable. Also loved how Lexis didn't just settle or give in, he took his time to trust and feel comfortable.

Their dynamic was just so much fun and I enjoyed every minute, the ending was especially perfect for these two. I only wish there was more as these two were awesome, Cheetah seemed a lot of fun so would have loved to have seen more of him too. Overall its a rather quick and interesting read, especially if you like Vampires and Werewolves.

I really liked the book
i think the concept for the blind vampire and protective werewolf is new and refreshing. Sine most people likes to just make them enemies.

Bryce is an adorable character, it was fun seeing him not hold back.
And as for Lexis, like what most said it's was interesting to have a blind vampire in a story.

I like how the story shows that no matter how nice and perfect we may see vampires as, their is still bound to be a bad apple somewhere.
Or in this story's case a bad basket of apples.

I liked the blurb, the vampire, blind and alone, being saved by a werewolf. I enjoyed the writing, the story, and the characters, even Cheetah, who was terribly annoyingly cheerful and an awful tease. The only thing that kept this from being added to "My Favorites" was that it was too short. I would have loved to hear more about Bryce and Lexis.
