I liked the first 3/4s more than the final quarter, but as a whole very much enjoyed this one. Heart, drama, horses, really it just wants for a dog to achieve the ultimate ingredients list of ranch romance. Nicely paced, satisfying ending even if I did have to grit my teeth through the flood of 'darling's at the end. A couple instances of predictable device is predictable, and a couple bits where it felt like dramatic twist for dramatic twist and word count's sake, but I can't say I'm mad about any of it. Except the excessive use of the term darling. There was one in particular that made my eyes roll, loudly. When you read it, I bet you'll know which one. But you should read it, because it is a charming couple who see some dark ish in their lives but come together in shared light and love, and there's horses. Romantic trail ride with a devastatingly handsome ranger? Sign me up, please. If he's the right ranger, I might consider taking a bullet for him.
