E. Howard Hunt was an American intelligence officer and writer. Hunt served for many years as a CIA officer. Hunt, with G. Gordon Liddy and others, was one of the Nixon White House "plumbers" — a secret team of operatives charged with fixing "leaks." Hunt, along with Liddy, engineered the first Watergate burglary, and other undercover operations for Nixon. In the ensuing Watergate Scandal, Hunt was convicted of burglary, conspiracy and wiretapping, eventually serving 33 months in prison.
One of the many novels written by Howard Hunt of Watergate burglary fame. Fairly typical example of the mens adventure novels that were churned out from the fifties to the seventies and it feels rather quaint in 2013. Short and fast moving it's more of a novella and with a little editing would have easily fit as a serial story. A couple surprises, but all in all this is not anything unusual. I read it mainly because it was written by Hunt and ,despite the fact that he was a prolific writer, I've never come across any of his novels before. Curiosity drove me to read it. My curiosity is now satisfied and back it goes to my favorite used bookstore.
