I read this book around the time I started dipping my toe into the stock market. I found it incredibly helpful in getting a foundation of understanding for the market and its history. It also does a good job of introducing readers to the different types of strategy most often used in the market. I like to have a base of research, knowledge, and understanding prior to getting into anything big, and this book filled that in spades. I would definitely recommend for those with limited understanding in the market, but an interest in knowing more. I liked that they included history along with investment strategies. I felt as though there were some slow parts and you could definitely skip chapters if you wanted. Some of the language was a bit difficult to understand at first, but I took it slow and read it through a few times and found it helpful once I figured out a way that worked for me. I liked that this book was not written from a viewpoint, but rather just laid out the facts, options, and ideas. So many business books are written with some sort of bias or by a bigwig who has succeeded, or by people with an agenda or 'get rich quick' mentality. This book is not and for that I was grateful.

Amazing explanation to understand Wall Street, but you'll need a background in finance and economics to get the most out of it.

I think this was a great book for anyone who wants to know a little bit more about the stock market while not getting to involved with the terminology. Little did a phenomenal job of explaining complicated facts and procedures. With this book I learned a lot about the basics of Wall Street; dividends, shares, and when to buy and sell. This was a comprehensive and thorough guide for any beginners or those who want to go back to the basics.

I found this book when I was a kid around 11yrs old. It opened my eyes to what Wall Street is. I've since bought 3 different editions. The book explains just about everything related to the stock market, It is like a dictionary for the stock market.

I tell everyone I know to read this book. For a reason. You'll never have money if you don't understand how its generated.

Fine for my purposes initially but outdated. Funny to read all the references to "computing machines"

If you want to start investing, this is a good book must read for newbie in stock. You will be guided to understand the basic of investing. How to gauge the stocks and how to judge one company is good or not. The most important thing that you will get from this book is the fundamental trading doing every day in Wall Street.

This was honestly a great book. I really learned a lot of different things about the market and some new ways to help me make better investments. I also learned about great new ways to invest. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to get a good start on the market. It definitely made me even more anxious to fulfill my goal and become a broker.

Hard to follow for a rookie on this area in specific, I would need another couple of reads in order to learn something from this book. I know that this edition in specific is known to be hard, as Wall Street dynamics might have changed. Yet this book is a great foundation for a future investor and it must be part of the benchmark for whomever who wants their pockets and money to increase.

I suggest you to get a paper edition. It's very hard to read the figures in the kindle version, even with kindle on laptop. But overall it is a good book with basic knowledge for finance/stock market.

Great information, but so much like a text book that it was difficult for me to get through. A great reference book I think to have on your shelf also.
