Writing - and reading - must be in my blood. I can't stop doing either one of them. I'm drawn to mysteries, but have discovered that most every type of book includes a mystery to be solved. Sometimes it is the mystery of why something happened, or who did it, or why they did it, but sometimes it is just the mystery of why two people were put together at the same place and the same time. I'm a firm believer in coincidence - meaning, there is no such thing. I don't believe in predestination, but I believe that everything happens for a reason. A warning: be nice to me, or you'll end up starring in my next murder mystery!
This book captures your attention from the beginning and keeps it through the end. I had a difficult time putting it down. Mary Coley has created a good niche for herself in her style of writing as well as the locations she chooses for settings. The way she brings to life historical places/events is wonderful not to mention the intricate relationships woven in the storyline. This book is a good read on its own, however if you're from Oklahoma and especially Ponca City, you will be thrilled! And if you keep your eyes open she adds a little education regarding nature as well. Can't wait to read her next book!
Mary Coley’s extraordinary talent shines bright in her new thriller, Chrysalis. An intricate plot, intriguing characters, and an abundance of unexpected twists turns this read into a hair-raising adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat—and turning the page. Coley magically combines her dangerously vivid imagination and wicked flair for the suspense with Oklahoma history, science, and nature to produce her best work ever.
