Callie will be sad to see her family home sold into the hands of strangers. When a stranger with a horseshoe comes asking questions about Callie's family, Callie finds herself delving into secrets the family home has long kept hidden.
I enjoyed this book, although it was quite long. The book goes between "current day" (1998) Brisbane and WW1 Brisbane/ France which was interesting to read about. It was a very emotional and heartbreaking book at times reading the war stories, and I think the present day ending let it down. I think I would actually have rathered that Callie found the horseshoe herself and Michael wasn't in the book. The family tree realisation and wedding lost the book a star for me at the end.
