Frankie Jensen works hard. She’s clawed her way up to become the car chief for the Cummings Racing pit crew, but none of that matters when her boss doesn’t even know her name. She refuses to let people take advantage of her. Quitting is her only option, but there was one thing she didn’t factor in.
Brooks Cummings always wins.
Whether it’s on the track or in life, Brooks knows what he wants, and he’s not afraid to fight for it. After a near miss with a wrench to the head, Brooks knows he should wash his hands of the rebellious car chief, but he can’t seem to let her go.
Racers strive for a holeshot on the track, but Brooks wants one when it comes to her. First over the finish line and first to Frankie’s heart.

We are really enjoying this author's stories and I have to say we really enjoyed her Nitro Crew Series. The series itself was pure enjoyment and brought us tons of laughs.
One thing we are loving about this series is its character's and I have to say that we have never really read any sport romance reads before so this was a refreshing change we really enjoyed.
I loved both of the main character's Frankie and Brooks. Frankie was a hoot she made me laugh time and time again .This girl was a tell it like it is chick.I found her to be crude ,direct, fun, guarded, edgy and more tom boy than girl.I loved how fierce she was when it came to her craft and always having to prove herself in a man's dominated world yet, ten times better than any of those haters.
Frankie was just one of those character's that you can't help fall in love with even with they way she guards herself fiercely underneath it all is a sweet and loving soul who will be worth it once you peel back all those layers to get there. We loved that Brooks saw what was underneath those layers and willing to fight for her knowing she would be his one and only and his forever but, he just needed to convince her of it.
We loved Frankie from the onset of the story when she threw that wrench in her pissed off state.
"Omg! Did she make us laugh through the entire story with her mouth and antics."
Brooks was sexy as sin,love-able,a man willing to take chances, laid back when not pissed, loved prickly women but, most of all loyal to his mother and loved will his whole heart and willing to make tons of sacrifices to see to her well being.
" I just wanted to hug Brooks time and time again of how protective he was of his mother."
"Definitely swoon worthy character ."
I love this author but, I have to say that I had not read a lot of sports romance reads but, I am really glad that I gave this series a chance because it was really a lot of fun and I loved the second installment as it just drew us in and gave of the ins and outs of being a pit grew for a drag racer but, most of all the wonderful friendships that developed being part of that crew.
The romance between both Frankie and Brooks was a roller coaster of ups and downs.Brooks and Frankie had one of those love/hate relationships although I don't think Frankie hated Brooks she just was fiercely attracted to him and didn't want to be because he was a bit of a** .I loved this couple the most of all in this ongoing series as Frankie had been one of those character's that sticks out in a series and I loved how Brooks was attracted to her and wanted her even as prickly as she was and he was willing to take her claws and all.
I really loved Frankie's sense of humor especially with all her jabs she gave among the crew ,family and even Brooks.
Holy Hotness ! This couple had sparks and chemistry and had a habit of having sex in strange places! "LOL"
One thing about the men is this series and Jay himself is when the men fall they fall hard and quick. The man take what the want and claim their women quickly."My kind of guy."
I really enjoyed the plot and the story as well as all the amazing character's like Meg,Frankie,Harlyn.
We loved how the story and the romance plot flowed and most of all we love how it all ended and how Brooks went about making it all happen.
"We loved it!"
We recommend you check out the series as it really is a good series for those who get in a bit of a book rut as the books brings you a ton of laughs.
HOLY SHOT! This book is amazing, I have been wanting Frankie's book for awhile now and it didn't disappoint. Are you into romance and or racing books? Or just a great read that will have you laughing out loud? Make sure to check out this book. Brooks and Frankie are phenomenal together. I really really love Brooks. There is so much more to him then we have gotten to see so far. I love the how their relaitonship develops and how you really get to see all sides of both characters. This story gets you to feel so much, parts will have you laughing and others will have you seriously HOT and HEAVY! The writing, story and characters are all great! If you haven't read the first book of Nitro Crew (or even others from Winter Travers) the I HIGHLY suggest you do!
Holeshot is the second book in the Nitro Crew series and this book will have you lit up like a Christmas tree on a drag racing track. Brooks and Frankie’s story is engaging, action packed, hilarious, emotional and let’s not forget hot. As Brooks battles with Frankie’s sass to bring her back to where she belongs and Frankie tries to get past her hate for this hulk of a man, they will start to realize that they need each other in more ways than one. Their chemistry is so powerful it will give you tyre shake but ultimately it will be a holeshot for them both. This book is captivating and demonstrates Winter Travers at her best in bringing you romance with a huge side comedy.
This is the second book in the Nitro Crew Series by Winter Travers and it picks upright where the first book left off .I really love the sassiness and bluntness of Frankie she's just one amazing woman. Frankie works in a man's world , she's the crew chief of Cummings Racing pit crew .But when she realizes that Brook Cummings the driver doesn't know her name ,he losses her control and throws a wrench at him. Her actions gets her suspension for a week for her rage so she quits and goes home . But in no time Brook Cummings realizes he needs her and wants her back and usually what he wants he gets he likes to win. So will he be able to get her back working for him or not that's the question. These two people are very entertaining to read about .And the way Winter Travers writes about them makes you feel like your there with them .So if you want to find out what is going to happen with these two awesome people you will need to buy the book because I don't give spoilers.
Oh my...this book was so much fun to read. Brooks and Frankie were a riot! It had a bit of everything in this book, drama, emotion and humour. This couple is explosive from the firsts page to the last. I read it in one sitting couldn’t put it down. Despite the humour in this book there was a serious side to the it and dealing with health issues such as these is never easy, my heart hurt for Brooks, his father was such a di##. His mom was lovely despite everything that had happened. It was awesome getting to catch up with all the Jensen’s too. It was like visiting old friends. Fabulous book Ms Travers. Highly recommend this book and series
I am loving this series! Winter Travers really thinks outside the box when she creates these series. Her writing style keeps me coming back for more. Frankie was a smart take no shit car chief for Cummings racing. Brooks is the funny car driver for his namesake Cummings racing. Brooks and Frankie's relationship is a slow burning, opposites attract in the best way! I really enjoyed reading their story unfold. I highly recommend this book!!! Can't wait to read more about Jay and Delaney😍😍❤❤
I liked this book and how the characters grew together. Great story and strong characters with the secondary characters adding a little spice in just the right spots.
Holeshot was the second book in the Nitro Crew series by Winter Travers.
Frankie Jensen was raised by her brothers after her parents died (Skid Row Kings series). She grew up around cars and street racing and knew her way around car mechanics. She was currently the Car Chief for Brooks Cummings Racing. She was feisty, short tempered, had no filter, and had enough of being ignored because she was a woman.
Brooks Cummings was on the NHRA Racing circuit and had huge shoes to fill from when his father was a successful driver. With the pressures of running a new team, an ailing mother and a self absorbed father, he had little time to develop friendships on his crew with anyone other than his Crew Chief. As such, he had ignored his Car Chief one too many times and the plot was set in motion.
I liked the premise but it was slow to start and somewhat repetitive. I was craving more depth as the storyline progressed. It also didn’t seem as realistic at times, which made it difficult to connect when that occurred. However, with that said, once we got passed the initial conflicts, Travers had multiple plots within the main storyline and it kept me intrigued to see how it would all tie together.
All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable read. Travers continued building Jay’s intrigue and we’ll finally get his full story next in Redlight.
I love Frankie... there I said it. She is fiercely independent, a wildcat and sexy as hell. I love that she keeps Brooks on his toes, not letting him flash his sexy smile to get what he wants.. which is her under His car and under his body. The seriously intense connection between then is off the charts, the banter is perfect for them. The slow burn relationship was nice to see, rather than the hot jump into bed and figure things out later. You get to see their relationship grow, as reboots fly and so does certain objects. Life gives a helping hand to their progress.
Totally loved this book, looking forward to Jay’s book
5 HOLESHOT STARS!! This book has shot into one of my favorite books ever. I loved Frankie and Brooks story with all the banter, chemistry, sexy times and love for family. Winter Travers is one of my favorite authors, she always writes the perfect stories at the perfect time. This is the second book in the Nitro Crew series and you definitely need to read this book.
I was laughing through this whole book!! Frankie is a riot!!! Love the story line with Frankie, Brooks and the whole gang! I swear there were times I just couldn't quit laughing. Not only is it funny but it's sexy!!
I have been waiting for this book… Frankie… She is my hero. She is one of those women who can back up everything she says and doesn’t take any crap from anyone. I loved her. This book was amazing.
Frankie works in a real man’s world and its like she has to prove herself every day. And the final straw is that the driver of the car she works on doesn’t even know her name, so maybe it was a bit much throwing a wrench at him. Getting suspended not on her list, so she quits.
What Brook Cummings didn’t realize is that he needs her more than she needs him or do they both need each other. How will he get her back on his team and get her to hate him a little less. Loved this book it was hilarious, sweet, angst, some serious parts and lots of hot chemistry between Frankie and Brook. Definitely a favourite series of mine.
This is book two in the Nitro Crew series. I loved it. It also picks up right where the first book left off. I loved the sassy and very blunt Frankie. She was awesome. I loved her in book one Burndown. So after reading that and finding out she was next, I couldn't wait to hear her side of things.
Frankie is the main reason Brooks Cummings car wins on the track. She knows her cars., Grew up around them. After being raised by her three brothers after parents died has made her hard and but when she loves she loves just as hard. She is the youngest of all of them and her brothers own and operate a garage.
Brooks Cummings is known for racing his cars and his dad. He is a pretty boy and has no problems with the ladies or giving credit to the wrong people. Or does he?
Brooks is living in his father's shadow. He drives great but there is always that thought on people's minds wondering if he is as good as he thinks or is it his father's name? Everyone thinks he is spoiled and it is his father name that made him rise. Not that he actually earned it. A misunderstanding or miscommunication leads to Brooks getting a wrench thrown at his head by Frankie. She gets suspended and then she quits. When her brother answers the door and sees Brooks there all the jaws drop. He knows he needs her and he is willing to do whatever it takes to get her back where she needs to be.
As I said Frankie is fun and sassy and can't hold her tongue. She speaks her mind with the no-nonsense attitude. She doesn’t let anyone and I mean anyone walk on her. I love that about this woman and Brooks loves it too. He knows who was working on his car and making him what he is behind the wheel. After that failure on the track and his car not running is when he knows what needs to be done. He has three days to change her mind and get her back on the circuit.
Not only that though Brooks has some things going on in his life that keep him otherwise occupied. Then there is his archaic mean father. I don't know much about racing but this book made it fun. I loved the growth of both Frankie and Brooks. They are sexy and passionate. The people here are good for secondary characters that open both Brooks and especially Frankie's eyes. The banter between siblings and husbands and wives made me laugh out loud. Then let's not forget about Ash the nephew. That boy is a beast at ten. He knows how to work his parents and his aunt Frankie. I loved reading the comradery of the family dynamic of Frankie. Its great to see her brothers actually help Brooks to a point.
There is so much to this book to make you love it. I know I did. I can keep going but I am not going to. Just read it and find out. Miss Travers did an excellent job and I can't wait to read Jay’s book after the little snippet at the end.
I’m late on my review on this book so sorry but I been busy with work but here I am late but writing it heads up I’m bad at this ok so bare with me 😊😛 so here we go...
I got this as an ARC thank you for a chance of letting me read it ok I loved this one so much if you guys have read it you kno what I mean and if you haven’t you should your gonna love the Franki and Brooks I kno I did...Frankie or my Frankie I freakin loved her she was so strong and didn’t back down from anyone or anything she was a total badass she’s my aoul sister I so connected with her on so many levels he attitude take no shit from anyone was so refreshing to read for me It was she did wat she did and said watever was on her mind no filter at all she was loyal tru to herself confident she loved her family her brothers were so funny I was laughing through out the book when it came to her and her family there so straight forward with what they say you see where she got her no filter and her nephew is very funny as well your gonna live her and her family....
Brooks ugh what a lovable guy really you just cannot love him he’s very sweet and caring specially when it came to his mom we see the other side of him no one sees everyone thinks he’s just this playboy who stuck up because of who his dad is and his last name but no he’s a very different guy I liked that with Frankie we saw there relationship grew not just were together and that’s that no we see how franki goes from hating and killing him lol with a wrench to getting to giving him a chance and getting to explore there relationship it was funny seeing Frankie get along with his mom his dad is a total a****** I wanted to punch him I didn’t like him at all specially when he abandoned his wife because of her illness i felt bad for brooks specially because he not only had to worry about making it to the next rounds of racing but also his mom I was excited when Frankie finally decided to come back to work with him idk wat else today besides read the story is really good your gonna live it winter travers is an awesome writer can wait for the next Fallen Lords 😊
I’ve been looking forward to seeing what type of woman Frankie was going to grow into since I read Downshift (Skid Row Kings, book 1). We saw Frankie as a teenager full of sass and I just knew she would grow into her sassiness even more as she aged and gained experience--she had the Jensen boys as siblings, after all. We saw her feistiness in Burndown when she chucked a wrench at her boss, Brooks. We knew it was going to be smoking hot from the chemistry between those two….and it was!
Brooks has a lot going on in his personal life that he doesn’t want to bleed over into his professional racing life. He’s had to live up to (at the same time as he's had to live down) his family name in the racing circuit. His daddy was a racer and everyone assumes he made it in the racing world on the back of his daddy’s name. Frankie has made her own way in the racing world and resents the fact people judge her on the fact she has a set of ovaries rather than her skills with tools and instinctual way around the racing cars and engines. It all comes to a fiery head when she can no longer put up with Brooks’ disrespectful ways. She is suspended for the wrench throwing incident, then quits on principle. Brooks follows her home to beg her to come back, although it is more of a command than question. Brooks meets Frankie’s brothers and we get to see the Skid Row Kings in the present…must I say that I am loving Ash and his super-duper blackmailing skills? That boy has a talent for making it rain. He is a Jensen through-and-through! Frankie breaks through Brooks’ walls and sees he is a man and not a racing machine. Brooks needs Frankie to breathe and be his equilibrium in life. Brooks’ dad is a major disappointment. I love the realness of Brooks’ home situation and how Frankie takes everything in stride.
I love this author’s MC men and Karate Hotties. The Nitro Crew introduces us to a whole new world where once again the men are alpha and they know how to leave a skid mark on my heart!
Knowing he needs Frankie back, he knew he took her for granted, but he needed her and was going to convince her. Frankie’s brothers don’t understand why she quit after she got suspended for throwing a wrench at Brooks, but it was the no recognition that she can’t go back to. Ignoring phone calls from Brooks, she’s surprised when she turns around to find him in the shop. She hates Brooks he never recognised any of the work she did and recognised everyone else, she was never going back, until she realised that he was different to what he was at the track and she was blaming him for the anger she felt towards other. Brooks knows he needs Frankie back and hope by sending her a ticket that will be the final push she needs to head back to the team, and back to him. Back at Cummings Racing, Frankie see that nothing has changed and goes to tell Brooks, she’s leaving, but he wants her to stay with him, letting her know everything is better when she’s around, he doesn’t think about everything else, Frankie knows what ever just happened could ruin everything, while Brooks thinks it could be amazing. When Brooks takes off after the race, everyone is concerned and not hearing from him for a few days, Frankie decides to check on him, although wonders if she’s done the right thing when she arrives, thinking he’s girlfriend is there, until she realises it’s his mother. Brooks lets Frankie know why he’s been so occupied, and, Frankie can’t help but run to him, things shift between them, with Brooks reminding her that his mum is close, and promises her later, and Brooks decides that Frankie is going to be his. The heat they have between each other is amazing, but can they survive the complications that happen with the racing crew, and his parents and not kill each other to make it work. I loved the secondary characters, with the sibling banter and the nephew Ash who knew how to blackmail all the adults for money.
If you haven't read Burndown, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Go read it. If you haven't read any of Winter others book, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! In the Nitro Crew book one you have Remy who is Megs son, and she is from Loving Lo. In this beautifully written book you have Frankie who is the sister of the Jensen boys. See you need to catch up on your Winter roads. Frankie is an unbelievable pit crew chief she also is invisible to Brooks. She has had enough and won't answer his calls. She is worth more as a pit crew and a woman to be ignored even if Brooks is a fine piece of man meat. Brooks just cant seem to get that wrench throwing pit crew chief out of his mind. He knows he should listen to everyone and just get a new one but their is something about her. What Brooks want Brooks get, and right now he has his sights on Frankie.
I have waiting for Frankie's book since Downshift. I am so happy she followed her brothers footsteps and is working on cars. I absolutely loved her sassy self in Burndown. I got so mad for her when Brooks was always around. That girl has worked hard to be where she was. I would have thrown a wrench at him to. What I want expecting was Brooks to come to his senses and go after my firey lady. This book had me on pins and needles. I did have some questions about those two answered in this book. I don't want to give to much away but I will say I KNEW IT! I loved everything about this book. I have read it three times now just because I find something knew everytime I reread it. It's a perfect cat and mouse chase romance. Winter is an amazing author. When she writes you can read how much each word comes straight from her heart for us readers to enjoy. She pours her heart and soul into each book and I cant thank her enough for her continued publishing of amazing books. I could wait 2 weeks tops for her books. That's how patient iam. And with that being said I cant wait for the next book in the Nitro Crew series.
Holeshot is a another hit for Winter Travers. If you read Skid Row Kings series by Travers then you know Frankie, little sista to Mitch, Luke and Kurt. Frankie finally gets her own book with a sexy alpha Male and a HEA.
Book two of Nitro Crew starts where book one ended. Brooks Cummings is the hot new racer on the drag circuit, he is also Frankie's boss and he is a total jerk..well least he starts out as one. Frankie is a sassy, feisty, sexy and beautiful character who will put Brooks in his place every single time. She is a mechanic on a pit crew and she has had enough of the boys getting all the credit well she has had enough. All she wants is for her boss to recognize her work...she is sick of Jay, Roc and Remy getting all the praise for her work. So when is suspended and she decides not to come back to work for Brook Cummings. Brooks will have to show Frankie there is more too him then being a dick.. so after some convincing Frankie will go back to pit crew. They will still be fights between Frankie and Brooks but let's say Frankie has found a more enjoyable way to give Brooks hell. Let's say the crew hides the wrenchs when Frankie is fighting with Brooks. . Brooks is a sexy alpha who knows what he wants and that is Frankie as his Best Car Chief as well as his woman who keeps his bed warm and he also falls madly in love with her.
Loved this story, it gives you the feels...laughter, love, ahhs, anger and tears. Yes tears.. I cried a little when it comes to Brooks caring for his mom who happens to have early signs of dementia or Alzheimer's, this hit a little close to home for me. I watched my grandmother go though this for 5 years from the slow start of it to the very end . That being send Loved Loved this story and I cant wait to read more about Frankie and Her King Brooks Cummings. Happy Reading
I loved the first book in the Nitro Crew series, but Holeshot was another level of love. First of all, there's a very feisty heroine, named Frankie Jensen, who is a genius at making Brooks Cummings', the hero, car run fast enough to win races. However, she does seem to have a slight temper, as this story started up after she had been suspended for throwing a wrench at him, then her ultimately quitting. Since she quit, she found herself staying with one of her brothers while trying to find a new job. Brooks learns quickly that his crew doesn't run well without her, so he chases her down to beg her to come back. And this is when it got really funny, as Frankie has grown up with brothers, so she wasn't just in a corner pouting, nope, when she couldn't get him to go away, she put him through serious paces which had me laughing so hard, that I was gasping for breath. It doesn't hurt that they do have HOT chemistry, which finally ends up igniting when he basically hijacks her car to get her to come back, providing sexy times that lit the sheets up. It only gets funnier when she meets more of the entertaining cast of secondaries made up of his mother, & her companion, Susan. I swear to all that was holy that I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Of course, there's a not so nice secondary, who not only made for the angst of others, but also some f-bomb worthy, colorful metaphor name calling. So that's all from me, but know that Winter Travers has an addictive writing style so original & amazing, that I have to HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Holeshot is book two in the Nitro Crew series by Winter Travers. I have been reading this author's work from the very beginning, and the stories just get better and better. With each new book there is exciting new characters, new storylines, attention grabbing sexiness, and lots of heart.
The friction and tension between Frankie and Brooks was evident in Burnout, and reached fever pitch in Holeshot. Both possessed magnetic personalities and charisma just oozed from Brooks. Although prickly and a little arrogant, together they just intertwined beautifully, albeit with a few bruises along the way. Some books you really have to put a lot into reaching the end, as the story may be not fast paced enough, or you just cannot connect with the characters as you feel you should. You may not enjoy it as much oe give it the attention it deserves due to a crazy life going on whole you try to read a story. That is not the case with the Nitro Crew. I became totally enthralled and the emd just crept up on me too quickly. It was the ultimate escape and one I will treasure always.
Winter Travers always goes that one step further and delivers a story that surprises, excites, mesmirises, and melts you. 5 stars for a wildly exciting and spellbinding tale.
Holeshot is Frankie (she is the sister of the men from the Skid Row Kings series) and Brooks' story. Brooks Cummings is the team owner and driver but he's also unfortunately a bit of an ass. After he ignores/dismisses Frankie and her work one too many times she throws a wrench at his head and gets suspended. Not one to admit she did anything wrong, she quits, but it only takes the first race after her departure for everyone involved in the team to realise just how vital a team member she is. Will Brooks be able to change his attitude and convince Frankie to return? Will he want more than just her excellent mechanic skills once he actually bothers to get to know her? Will Frankie give Brooks a second chance when she discovers the reasons behind his attitude and realises there's more to him than she first thought?
Drama, some drag race action and some smoking bedroom time and this was another very good read from Winter Travers. Like with book one, nothing eventful really happens but it's just a nice story of two people learning to live and work with each other and maybe even finding love too. I'll be looking out for the next one and give Holeshot 4 stars.
I have been waiting for Frankie's story ever since I read about her in Remy's book....and it was so worth the wait!!!! She is a feisty take no prisoners type of girl. She will stand up and fight for what is right even if its the person who signs her paychecks. Brooks quickly realizes that he needs Frankie back to work so he travels to her home town to beg her to come back. He will do whatever it takes to have Frankie back even if that means sending her a plane ticket and towing her car. Now that she is back....she is seeing Brooks in a whole new light. Developing feelings for her jerk of a boss was never the plan but once she realizes that there is more to Brooks than meets the eye her feelings for him grow even further. The chemistry between the two was insanely hot....that Brooks is one dirty talkin man. They were perfect for each other. I loved this book so much and as much as I enjoyed the main characters, I freakin adored Brooks' mom and her nurse!!! They cracked me up so much with their antics. I can't wait to read Jay's book next and I highly recommend this book to everyone....well done!!!!
Growing up with three brothers and the fact they own a garage has resulted in Frankie’s love of cars and racing. She has worked her way up through Cummings Racing but she is tired of being unappreciated just because she is a woman. Things come to a head when she throws a wrench at Brooks and instead of taking the suspension that they were going to give her she quits.
Brooks races cars for a living and is very successful with the ladies. He feels like he is living in his dad’s shadow and others in the racing field who believe he only has success because of him. Once Frankie leaves he realizes her worth and is on a mission to bring her back. Will he be able to convince her, and will things really be any different?
I loved Frankie’s feisty and fiery attitude. She is used to being around men all her life and has no problem putting anyone in their place. I liked how there was so much more to Brooks than first appears. The chemistry between them is hot, their banter is humorous but they also have a way of supporting each other when they need it the most. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
O.M.F.G. Winter you just completely slayed me. I freaking loved this book so much. The banter, sexual tension, irritation, determination, the chemistry, the sweetness, the many things that these two characters showed had me flipping these pages one right after the other. I always know that I'm going to absolutely love Winter's books but you never know. Rest assured that Winter once again delivered a book that is addicting from the first page.
Frankie is so freaking hilarious. She is sweet and caring with a fiery side that isn't about to let anyone walk all over her. Brooks is someone you think you know, that he'll be the stereotypical famous person but the many layers he has is something you can't help but to fall in love with. There is more going on in his life than he lets on to anyone and that has caused him to make mistakes with people in his life, Frankie especially. He is determined to get her back on his team never expecting to fall for along the way, now to show her they could really be great together.
Another don't miss from Winter and I just know that the next is going to be so, so good. The teaser at the end definitely has me intrigued and wanting more and more.
Frankie has worked hard to get to where she is professionally. Working as a car chief for The Cummings Racing team is a dream come true and nobody works as hard or gives as much as Frankie does. So when boss’ son and racing driver Brooks Cummings doesn’t even acknowledge her or the hard work she’s done, it’s time for Frankie to say enough is enough and quit the job she loves. I loved Frankie in Burndown but this book gives a better insight into the real Frankie and it only made me love her more. Going back home to lick her wounds she’s not expecting Brooks to follow her nor is she expecting him to be quite as relentless as he is when it comes to getting her to come back to work with him. I really wasn’t expecting to like Brooks. Like Frankie, I judged his book by the cover and I was left far from impressed. Getting to know him in Holeshot showed a different side to his character and I ended up loving him.
This is another great book in the Nitro Crew series and I can’t wait for more!
Holeshot’s an enjoyable read filled with drama, humour and emotion, it picks up right where the first book in the series left off.
Frankie’s a sassy woman working in a mans world, she’s the chief of the Cummings Racing pit crew, when she realises that driver Brooks Cummings doesn’t know her by name she finds herself being suspended after losing her temper and throwing a wrench at him, not liking the fact she’s suspended she ends up quitting, that doesn’t go down that well with Brooks as not only does he realise he needs her as part of his crew he wants her and what Brooks wants he usually gets. Will Brook manage to lure Frankie back into his crew? Will the pair give into the intense chemistry they share?
Read Holeshot, Winter Travers latest contemporary romance with a dose of comedy and plenty of action that will rev your engine and prove that opposites do actually attract 🚗🔩🔧.
I really liked HOLESHOT. The dialogue between the characters kept me very entertained. There were some slow spots in the book, but I don’t feel that they impacted my experience while reading.
I have been not so patiently waiting for Frankie’s book, and I can say that I really did enjoy it, but there were times that I really didn’t like Frankie. Yes, she had to put up with a lot given the profession that she worked in as it is typically a man’s world. But, her character was a lot more negative than I liked at times. I thought both she and Brook were both very stubborn characters, but I expected that in Frankie. Growing up the sister to the Jensen brothers would make someone very opinionated and stubborn.
Overall, I did like the book. There are some great oneliners that had me laughing and some really hot scene’s that had me fanning myself. The characters were in part likable and annoying (which I enjoyed as well). The interactions with the other characters in the story just added to the overall impact of the book. Great story and awesome addition to the Nitro Crew series!
Title: Holeshot Author: Winter Traverse Genre: Contemporary Romance/New Romance/Racing **RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW** I was looking forward to this book. I love Winter Traverse and her Skid Row Kings books which is where we first met Frankie as a teenager. Frankie on the outside seems brash, brassy, sassy, antagonistic but under it all she has a heart of gold. Brooks is a man who knows what he wants and how to get it. He and Frankie have serious foreplay. Who doesn't want a wrench thrown at their head? Traverse is great at building characters. You feel their anguish and happiness. I did not like how Violet was portrayed. She seemed so ditzy. Violet was the first Skid Row Queen. Winter Traverse just has a way of pulling you in keeping your attention. In this case the action went from hot, steamy street racing to hot and steamy professional drag racing. Y'all have to read this lady's work. Awesome!
Holeshot picks up where Burndown finished. Frankie has had enough, she has worked so darn hard to get where she is and is sick of not getting the recognition she so deserves. She doesn't want a fuss, just a simple Thank You and for the driver to actually know her name. That isn't asking for much is it?!! So after losing her cool and launching a wrench at the owner/driver of Cummings Racing she retreats home to lick her proverbial wounds. But Brooks isn't letting her go that easily! Damn, the chemistry between these two!! It's not an easy road and Frankie gets the feeling all is not okay with Brooks, he seems distracted. Loved catching up with Frankie's siblings and their families, and Brooks' Mum....heart melted. Lots of sass, feistiness and laugh out loud moments amongst the hotness and Winter has delivered again. With characters you can relate to this is a great read!
