Lädt zum Träumen ein
„Für welche Art Camping du dich auch entscheidest, wichtig ist, dass du es machst. Die richtige Zeit ist jetzt, wie man so schön sagt, gerade angesichts einer sich ständig verändernden Welt.“
Ob ein Wochenende in der Nachbarschaft oder im Garten, ob zu Fuss, mit dem Fahrrad, Kanu oder Motorrad, ob in Europa, USA, Kanada oder auf Expedition, ob am Waldboden, im Baum oder in einer Felswand: überall kann man Campen. Und man sollte es auch. Luc Gesells Buch beschreibt das Campen und zeigt auf, wie viele verschiedene Möglichkeiten es hierfür gibt. Der französische Werbetexter und Abenteurer hat Inspirationen in Form von Bildern und Geschichten zum Thema Camping in einem Bildband gesammelt. Diese kommen von Freunden, Abenteuern und Campern auf der ganzen Welt. Das Buch ist liebevoll gestaltet und von guter Qualität. Die vielen Fotos laden zum Träumen ein, am liebsten würde ich sofort los wandern und auf einer Bergspitze campen. Manche Geschichten sind alltäglich, andere wirklich spannend, wieder andere beschreiben Dinge, die ich mich nie trauen werde. Die meisten Fotos sind qualitativ hochwertig; einzelne scheinen jedoch mit einer Smartphone Kamera aufgenommen zu sein. Zum Schluss gibt es noch einige Tipps und Tricks zum Campen in der Natur, z.B. wie man ein Lagerfeuer macht etc. Das Buch dient als Quelle für Inspiration, als Motivation, mehr Zeit in der Natur zu verbringen, und als Ideen-Sammlung, wo und wie man überall campen kann. Ein sehr schönes «Coffee Table» Werk!

It's a great book for what it is. Beautiful pictures, cute camp stories, nice practical tips.
The pictures really do a great job inspiring the desire to get out to nature and do some camping. The stories alongside add some nice context too.
The vertical camping (aka camping on ledges while rock climbing) really just wows me. I don't think I'll be hanging off a portaledge any time soon but it seems like an awesome adventure.

Het ultieme boek om aan de alledaagsheid te ontsnappen. Zaaalig. (wild) kamperen geeft een ultiem gevoel van vrijheid en de interviews en foto's roepen dat gevoel zo goed op. De natuur schreeuwt nu nog luider! Toen we deze zomer na drie weken in het bos terugkeerden naar huis, kreeg ik 's nachts geen lucht meer omdat het zo bedrukt voelde in ons huis. Hopelijk brengt 2021 ons veel kampeertripjes op afgelegen plekjes. Love it.

Does it curb my ever-present desire to adventure outdoors, or does it make me overly antsy and trying to find a way to thwart my current plans, no matter the cost, to get back outdoors and achieve that beautiful simplicity of an exhale in nature?

2.5 stars. Aside from a couple interesting suggestions, I thought the scope of this book was too broad to make it a solid, cohesive read.

Mooie plaatjes en wel leuk als inspiratie, maar de informatie is als in een algemeen tijdschrift: het is interessant, maar je leert er niks concreets uit. One-day-read, bladert wel lekker.
