A Fatal Harvest written by Rachael O Phillips in the Amish Inn Mystery series grabs the readers attention from the beginning. With the towns harvest festival kicking into full gear there are some real sinister characters at work and murder takes on a whole new life. When one of Liz's guest is found dead during a hayride the suspects start mounting. Of course Liz, the Material Girls, and Mayor Jackson Cross are determined to help the police chief dove this murder but can they do it before Liz's life is put into jeopardy? When past grievances come to light the story that unfolds is chilling.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a truly suspenseful mystery that I can highly recommend to others.

An Amish Mysteries Inn series novel involving Liz, and her Inn along with the Material Girls (their quilting club) helping her and Jackson and the Chief and his police officers. Liz is more directly involved this time because she cannot keep from doing her own sleuthing on the side, which angers some including the murder. Of course, it’s one of the Inn’s guest(s) that has been murder, so that’s why she’s pushing so hard. Liz definitely knows how to ruffle feathers, to get under people’s radar and to tip the scales of justice to finding the right clues. Sometimes putting herself to risk! This novel also brought Jackson, the Mayor, and sort of interested in Liz some competition with another suitor chasing after Liz’s heart. She had to make a decision of which was more important to her and to let one of them down gently. Very good novel!

This is the 5th book in the series I have read. I throughly enjoyed all of them except this one. To be honest, I just couldn't finish it. The storyline itself wasn't terrible, I just did not enjoy the writing style of this author.

Nice, easy, innocent read. Not very deep characters but respectable and kind. A murder mystery in a small Amish community. Reminds me of an adult Nancy Drew story.

Clean, no spice. First book I've read in the series and it easily stands alone. Not sure if I'll read more. This was a good story, but I don't care about the characters enough to read more.
