Arjay Lewis: actor, magician, and multi-award-winning author. I have spent my life as an entertainer, amusing people as a street-performer in the 1970s; a Broadway and casino artist in the 1980’s; a party performer in the 1990s and 2000s; a cruise ship performer in the 2010s.
Stories have always been in my mind, and I have been writing since the 1990s. My reason to write is simple: to entertain. I write the type of books that I like to read: murder mysteries, strange tales of unnatural gifts, odd happenings and horror.

Asylum in the Mind is an absolutely mind blowing thrill ride. How Arjay Lewis will top this one is beyond me but I for one can't wait to see him try. The author draws you into the story from the very first page and weaves a very tight web around you and your only remedy is to read on and hope you can either figure it out, which you can't, or have the author kindly unravel the web for you. And there is the other dilemma, you want the book to end so you can find out what happens, but you don't because you want to continue to immerse yourself in the story as long as possible. You have yourself caught in a beautiful catch 22 and it is well worth it in my eyes. I found myself constantly trying to figure out well maybe it is this guy, no this guy, well maybe this guy, or no way it can't be this guy. Well needless to say I didn't figure it out, which was disappointing and yet satisfying both at once.

The plot is very well developed and obviously never drags out nor does the author ever rush you through the story. It is a continuous flow of information, that you are trying to process to see if you can figure out the "whose done it" before the time is up and can outsmart our star psychic detective. There are some nice twists that I didn't see coming and some surprising sacrifices the author made and I am definitely curious to see how he will pick these up in book seven, and there better be a book seven!

Leonard is one of the most likable main characters I have ever come across, who I wish was real so I could call him up and go out for a beer and discuss how our days have been. With every book you get to know this guy better and really feel like you are part of his life, with all the ups as well as the downs and sadly he has those, too many for my taste. There is constant character development of him as well as the other characters and it is interesting to see how slowly his cases can and do develop above the local jurisdiction.

This was definitely the master piece to date, but I think I think that with every book. It will be interesting to see how the author will continue Leonard's story from here and I will be the first to buy the next book to find out!

Another great book

I haven't read all the books in this sreies, but the two I've read are good.As Len fight a demon that he brought back to life,he find love and sadness caused by this demon. As he goes up against those who don't believe how he knows the answers. He finds himself fighting for his life and the woman he truly loves. After losing one love to this demon he refuses to lose another. The ending is good, but sad. This is a new author for me and I truly like his books. Will read the rest very soon

Good book but not as good as the first three. It seems to have gone from paranormal crime to paranormal fantasy. This time Dr Len Wise is chasing a demon not a human criminal with certain powers of their own. Although I did like the book I was a little disappointed.
