Striking Out…

Jamie Lawson always believed he’d make it to baseball’s big leagues, but when a tragic accident leaves him maimed, and his wife dead, Jamie heads back to his small Minnesota hometown with his dreams shattered. Six years later, he’s opened his own chiropractic clinic, but guilt and grief still haunt him. The closest he comes to baseball these days is coaching little league and umpiring for the town’s Fourth of July softball tournament. He certainly doesn’t have room in his life for the pretty stranger who shows up at the tournament and then boldly asks him on a date.

The Boys—and Girls—of Summer

After an ugly divorce, grade school teacher Kira Walker needs a break to reassess her life and come to terms with being single. Spending the summer with her sister, she attends the holiday softball tournament. But how can she keep her mind on the game—and her goals—when the umpire is such a distraction? She might be up for a summer fling if it was with Sexy Umpire Man.

Sliding into Home…

Kira’s got her own share of past hurts, but as the summer—and the romance—heats up, her playful nature coaxes Jamie into rediscovering parts of himself he thought he’d buried with his wife. Kira has thrown Jamie a curveball. Will he let her walk, or will he embrace the possibility that his glory days just might be in the future, with Kira?

Tracey’s writing has been described as “vivid” and “gut-wrenchingly beautiful” and has been accused of making readers cry. All of which makes her heart feel ten times bigger because (despite having the appearance of a got-it-together business owner) she’s a hopeless romantic who believes that love—in all its many forms—truly makes the world go round.

Get swept away by wounded, flawed and vulnerable heroes (and the women who love them).

Join strong heroines on their riveting journeys through loss, forgiveness and self-realization.

Hang onto the edge of your seat through action-packed adventure and drama.

And most of all, escape into the combustible combination of ‘slow burn’ sensual pleasure and true love!

Tracey is a former Army combat medic and EMT. When not writing (or working part-time to support her writing habit), Tracey enjoys riding her motorcycle (which she affectionately calls ‘Black Widow’); spending time at the lake with family; and watching her favorite soccer teams (which include her kids’).

She lives on a 3-acre oasis in small-town Minnesota with a small menagerie of critters, an infinitesimally understanding hubby, and two almost-grown children who put up with the ‘embarrassment’ of a motorcycle-riding, romance writing mom!

Calling the Curveball: a Lawson Family Novel (Lawson Family Series Book 1) by Tracey Cramer-Kelly is the sweetest second chance romance and Tracey has knocked that sucker right out the park. I haven’t read anything by Tracey before and this book has made me a fan. The story is one that will stir up your emotions and make your heart ache. Due to the wonderful writings of this author the characters are lovable and they have had so much pain and suffering, loss and guilt in their lives that your heart breaks right along with them. But there is also so much love and hope, wonder and joy to be had that you are not able to walk away until you have finished the book in one sitting. The plot is spot on and Tracey’s words make it easy to envision the world in which they live.

Jamie was on his way to the big time just before tragedy struck and his whole world imploded. He was left a broken man who is still trying to move on but struggling years later. That is until a beautiful and brave woman takes the initiative and invites him to go on a date. Could she be the one to mend his broken and battered heart?

After a messy divorce, Kira Walker is still putting her life and her heart back together and is sworn off men. That is until a visit to her sister and a ball game, someone stir emotions long buried. Deciding to do something out of character, she surprises both herself and the object of her stirring emotions, by asking him on a date. Could he be the one to mend her broken and battered heart?

I absolutely cannot wait to seeing what comes next.

Calling the Curveball is A Lawson Family Novel (Book #1) by Tracey Cramer-Kelly. It is a sweet and emotive second chance romance that covers loss, guilt, shattered dreams, picking up the pieces, starting again, drama, new beginnings, families, hope, faith, and Love. Ms. Cramer-Kelly is a ‘new-to-me” author and I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of her before now. Reading this book won’t be the last foray into Ms. Cramer-Kelly’s world/s. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be going back to explore more of her books in the future.
Kira Walker is a school teacher who is trying to re-focus on her life, picking up the pieces after a messy divorce two years earlier. She’s in town visiting her sister for the summer, when the sexy umpire at the towns annual ball game catches her eye. Since her divorce, she’s always quite careful when it comes to men and relationships- not wanting to expose herself to heartache again. But there is something about this man that prompts her to wonder if a diversion with Mr. Sexy Umpire Man would be just what she needs to shake things up a bit? She surprises herself by asking him out and is even more surprised , and very happy, when he says yes.
What happens when all your plans and dreams for the future are shattered all at once. Leaving you broken, both physically, and emotionally? Jamie Lawson had a promising future in Baseball, everything he hoped for was within his grasp. Then tragedy struck, breaking his heart, and snatching away his dreams. That was five years ago, and he’s still trying to recover and fully move on with his life. As his life took a new and unexpected direction, so did his choice of careers- becoming a Chiropractor instead of a ballplayer. He’s taken completely off-guard when a lovely woman asks him out, then he surprises himself by agreeing. And so, this lovely story begins. Is there a chance for them to find a future together? Or will past pain prevent them from finding happiness? Will this be nothing more than a summer fling?
This was such a sweet and romantic story. It’s well written with fully developed and likeable characters. I am looking forward to seeing what else Ms. Cramer-Kelly has up her sleeve.

Thank you, Ms. Cramer-Kelly!

Calling the Curveball by Tracey Cramer-Kelly a five-star read that will knock you out of the park. This was my first read by this author and it won’t be my last, it’s in the first read Lawson family series and shows us some great promise in the family stories. Jamie Lawson will break your heart, reading his story is compelling and brutal and you know that you want to pick him up and put him back together. Thankfully that job falls to Kira Walker, well sort of, as a bit of summer fun isn’t supposed to be this hard is it? The author has such a way with her words that you will feel the pain and heartache they feel. A brilliantly plotted and planned read.

I received an advance copy of this book, and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.

I love this book because the realistically portrays the emotions of all of the characters.

Jamie Larson’s goal was to become a major league baseball player. Unfortunately, he was badly injured in an accident that, also, killed his wife. He and his wife had just had a huge argument prior to leaving home. Even though this happened six years ago, Jamie still has not gotten over this trauma.

Afterwards, Jamie moves home to his hometown and sets up his own chiropractic office. Meanwhile, he stays involved in baseball by becoming a little league coach and by umpping softball games.

Kira Walker is a school teacher who has just come out of an ugly divorce. While visiting her sister over her summer break, she meets Jamie at the Fourth of July softball tournament which he is umpping. She is instantly attracted to him and knows that she has to meet him even if it is only for a short summertime fling.

I love Kira. Her honesty and flexibility are unusual qualities for many heroines. She doesn’t hide her feelings from Jamie even when he begins pulling away from her. I like that she accepts Jamie for who is and doesn’t try to change him. Mostly, I like that, in spite of her feelings for Jamie, she is strong enough to accept his unsettled feelings for his wife and her death. There is no jealousy or ultimatum ever involved in anything she does.
Jamie is a good person who is struggling with his feelings about the death of his wife and of his dream. I sympathize and understand with his emotions. However, it has been six years and he has never attempted to realize that his guilt will not allow him seek help,

Kira is a wonderful role model. She is more supportive of Jamie than a lot of women might be. However, he loves Jamie and knows that he is a good man. Because of this, she is willing to give Jamie the time he needs to heal. Her love is very unselfish.

I am impatiently awaiting the second book in this series. There are some fantastic secondary characters that I would love to read about.

Calling the Curveball: a Lawson Family Novel
By: Tracey Cramer-Kelly
5 out of 5 stars

The story Calling the Curveball: a Lawson Family Novel by Tracey Cramer-Kelly is a sports romance book. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. It is an amazingly touching story with plenty of emotions. Mine went up and down the entire time that I read the book. There are times when my eyes were misty. This story has times that are heartbreaking and also heartwarming. I loved reading about the characters of Jamie Lawson and Kira Walker. Jamie is the local chiropractor after his dreams of playing baseball were dashed by an accident. He is a man that has not been in a serious relationship since his wife died. Then he sees Kira at a ball game he is the umpire for. Kira is a teacher. She is smart, beautiful, and caring. She is very attracted to Jamie when she first sees him. Is she thinking of just having a summer fling with him? These two seem right together. The attraction is there and undeniable. Is Jamie affecting Kira’s heart more than she is admitting? Jamie’s life is sometimes filled with guilt and grief. If he wants a future with Kira is he ready to let go of the past? Will these two find an HEA? Read this book to find out. The author does a wonderful job in making you feel the emotions that Jamie is going through and how his life is affected by his past. You find yourself wanting to heal the pain he is feeling. You also feel the emotions that Kira has from her point of view. I enjoyed reading how both Kira and Jamie banter back and forth as well as interacting with the other characters that are introduced. This is an amazing story that I highly recommend reading.

Calling the Curveball: A Lawson Family Novel by Tracey Cramer-Kelly was a emotional, heart warming, hot read that got me right in the feels and, had me hooked from start to finish.

My first read by this author, I went in with a opened mind. Mostly because I wasn't quite sure about this one. I was proven wrong (I love when that happens), this book had everything I love about cheesy, quick, hot romances and so much more.

This is that second chance style romance book. Both parties, have been hurt; one is riddled with guilt, the other, recovering from a divorce. Both aren't really looking but that's when things always happen. I have to say I liked the way our female MC took the lead, it was a nice change from other romance were the over barring alpha male, is the instigator in the relationship, or in starting one. That was refreshing and, hell, it was super fun to read about. I had a big old gin, cause Jamie was taken so back that it was freaking awesomely epic.

As for our MC's. Well, they were something. But for me Jamie had the most character development. For him it was about overcoming the survivor guilt and learning that he wasn't at fault for that tragic night. Having Kira help him through that, and him for her, was special. I was rooting for them from the start.

And that's where I'm going to leave you, as this is a shorter read, I don't want to let anything slip and spoil this wonderful read. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will have a time reading about these two broken souls, finding love and hope again.

Happy Reading

Calling the Curveball: a Lawson Family Novel by Tracey Cramer-Kelly

5++++ Stars

Ok so I totally LOVED this book...The storyline was AWESOME, the characters were believable and lovable and I want to be part of their friends and family. So now that I got that out of the way let me tell you about how this book made me feel...I cried more than once and some of that crying wasn't at all pretty, I laughed more than once and caught myself saying Awwwww out loud more than once. I also a few times got totally frustrated and angry. So it's safe to say this book, for me anyway had All the feels.

This was my first book by this author and I'm not even playing when I say it absolutely will not be my last. She grabbed me literally on page 1 and it was about 2% in that I had my first ugly cry… Jamie and Kira were both broken because of circumstances in their pasts and Jamie had given up his dreams feeling like he didn't deserve them anymore. This was part of the book that was heartbreaking and made me love Kira that much more. I LOVE how they met and loved even more her boldness to pretty much walk right up to him and ask him out.

Everything in this story worked for me, I could not stop reading it till I was finished and it worked really well with text to speech thankfully since I had some real life things I had to do while reading...and now I come away with needing so much more and will be tearing up her pages trying to find out when I can read more about everyone in this book, and I love finding new authors I can stalk, or I mean follow so this whole book was a complete win win for me.

I highly highly recommend reading this!!

Calling The Curveball: A Lawson Family Novel is the first book in a new series by Tracey Cramer-Kelly. This was the first time I had read any of this author’s work so was unsure what to expect. Reading the blurb, this looked like just the type of book that I would enjoy and I’m so glad that I gave this book a chance as I really, really enjoyed it.
Jamie Lawson still hasn’t got over the death of his wife in a car accident 6 years previously. He is crippled by guilt as he was the driver of the car and they were having an argument at the time. Injuries he sustained in the accident put an end to a professional baseball career so now he umpires instead.
While umpiring a game he meets the beautiful Kira Walker, a divorced teacher who is in town to spend the summer with her sister’s family.
To say there is an immediate attraction is an understatement but both are broken, especially Jamie. From here we have the most amazing angst filled story of 2 people who are obviously very attracted to each other but are being held back by their pasts.
I loved the characters of Jamie and Kira and I was very quickly drawn into their story. My heart broke for them on so many occasions and being the big softie that I am, tissues were required.
Be prepared to be taken on an amazing roller coaster journey filled with highs and lows. Added to this is Jamie’s awesome family members who we get to meet. I’m sure we will get to know this family much more in the remainder of this series. I already have the 2nd book on my kindle waiting for me and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this intriguing family.

Definitely not what I had expected! But in a good way! Calling the Curveball is the first book in The Lawson Family Series by Tracey Cramer-Kelly. Jamie Lawson was headed to the Major League when a tragic accident happened, which ended his baseball career and killed his wife. Kira Walker recently went through a horrible divorce and is staying with her sister for the summer to get a fresh new start. There was definitely lust at first sight but after Kira got the courage to ask Jamie out things definitely went a whole other direction. Instead of this being a “summer fling,” this turned in to something much deeper. The walls each one has built up from their own pasts start to crumble and neither one of them really know how to deal with it. This isn’t the typical romance. This is much more realistic and much more raw. I was impressed that the author decided to not write full sex scenes. Not every romance novel needs it and this is definitely one that did not need it. What she did was perfect for this story. I loved all the characters and the twists and turns that came about. Kira was fun, feisty and very head strong. It was very refreshing. This story was an emotional roller coaster so make sure to have the tissues handy because there will be lots and lots of tears. All in all, I loved this story! I could not put this book down! Definite page turner that you don’t want to miss out on! I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

This little novel was one of those that was just too short! I mean that in the best way possible too! I adored it. Tracey Cramer-Kelly brought ALL the feels to the table with this one and I couldn’t get enough. I found myself tearing up several times from emotional plot twists while reading, but also because this book was over. I was so thrilled that there will be more in the series to come! Another fab bonus is that she is a new author to me so I will be able to devour her other available titles while I wait for book two.

Calling the Curveball is one of those second chance romances that grips the heartstrings. Kira Walker is re-claiming her life the best she can after an ugly divorce. Her focus is on her career as a teacher and her self-worth., not men. When she spots a sexy umpire on a summer trip to visit her sister, she decides to take a leap of faith and ask him out. She is blown away at her guts, and even more shocked by his answer of yes.

Jamie Lawson is side-swiped by Kira asking him out, but can’t find a reason to turn her down. He hasn’t had the easiest past either though. One plagued with tragedy and broken dreams it has changed him from the man he once thought he would be. Will these two be able to find happiness together long term? Or will their pasts simply get in the way and only allow for a summer fling and more heartbreak?

Calling the Curveball by Tracey Cramer-Kelly is a love story built from the tragic circumstances but will Jamie be able to put his hurt aside to find love again.

Jamie thought he had it all a great career and a loving wife until one day all this comes crashing down around him, so like everyone he re-evaluates his life and goes back to his roots. Jamie decides to go back to Minnesota and start a fresh. So Jamie then set ups his new business and tries to just survive each day. Until one day while umpiring a little league a beautiful stranger approaches him and asks him out on a date.

Kiera has gone through a horrific divorce and is now reassessing her life being newly single again. When visiting her sister to re-evaluate her life she comes across a sexy umpire who she seriously has the hots for. She surprises herself asking this handsome guy out but even shocked when he says yes.

I loved this story and the dynamic between these two characters, the chemistry was great. This story follows the ups and down of tragedy, lost and just your life being upside down. The story had great pace and flowed really well. The characters were great and well developed. This is the first book I have read by this author and would love to read more in the future.

When I first got the book Calling the Curveball (a Lawson Family Novel) by Tracey Cramer-Kelly, I didn’t think that it was a series. However the ending of the book kind of sets the stage for a next one to take place. I enjoyed this book so much that I hope there is another one to follow because I want to see what happens after reading the last chapter of this one. Jamie Lawson has always dreamed of being a pro baseball player and he was heading in the direction of making that happen. Unfortunately his life took in one instant when there was a wreck that left him injured and his wife dead. Since the accident 6 years ago he has made a life for himself even though he still lives with guilt and regret. Kira Walker has come into town to spend the summer with her sister, and on a whim of courage she ask Jamie out to a date. Reading about these two coming together and seeing the possibilities of a future relationship bloom between them was amazing. There was so much emotion in the pages of this book with not only Jamie and Kira but also their family and friends. This book put some things into perspective for me in my own life. This is a journey of hurt, guilt, love, and forgiveness. Definitely add this one to your reading list.

Calling the Curveball (Lawson Family Series, #1)
By Tracey Cramer-Kelly
5 stars

This was such a touching and emotional read. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I loved every minute of it. Her writing was so beautiful, it flowed well and I was completely captivated by what I was reading.
I loved Jamie and Kira’s story! It was so heartfelt and genuine. I could really feel Jamie’s inner turmoil, he was frightened to fall in love with someone else with what had happening in his past. But for me if there was anyone he could fall in love with then it should be Kira – she was so perfect for him. They had a real slow paced relationship, they were clearly attracted to each other but Kira especially was very mindful of Jamie and his past. I really did love reading about their journey together. I will admit that there were times I was frustrated with Jamie – I really wanted him to open up to Kira about everything.
I really did think that this was a lovely story with great characters, both the main and the secondary ones. I look forward to reading more from the series!

Calling The Curveball: a Lawson Family Novel by Tracey Cramer-Kelly is a heartfelt story about second chances and not being afraid to grab them.
Jamie’s life was fully on track - until one day it wasn’t. With everything detailed he returns home to attempt to pick up the pieces of his life.
Six years later he has made a new life for himself. Even if it isn’t what he expected it would be, it is something. And if he is still haunted by his past? He doesn’t let anyone close enough to him for it to matter.
Until he meets Kira. She bursts into his life and sets about trying to make herself a part of it. And even though she claims it is temporary Jamie knows he can’t let her get close, knows he has nothing to offer her. And yet the chemistry between them is undeniable. Maybe he won’t be able to stay away.

This was the first book I had read by this author and I really enjoyed it. The whole book was emotional and really draws you in. I felt connected to both Jamie and Kira. Their stories were believable and relatable. They worked really well together as characters. I will certainly be looking into more from this author.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this second chance romance! Jamie Lawson and Kira Walker were such interesting characters to get to know, along with all of their friends and families! Six years after his wife’s death in a car accident that also ended his hopes of a baseball career, Jamie still has not forgiven himself for what happened. He certainly doesn’t feel he is worthy of the attention of the new girl in town!

Kira Walker has also been dealt a pretty bad hand when it comes to relationships. Newly divorced, she decides to leave her city life behind for the summer and visit her sister where she meets the sexy umpire and decides a summer fling might be the thing to do!

There are lots of unexpected events throughout this story that will keep you enthralled up to the last page! You truly get to know the characters and feel like they could actually be your friends. They make you want to be there for them during the bad times and to help them celebrate the good times! I am certainly looking forward to getting to know more of the Lawson family in futures works by this author!

Calling the Curveball: a Lawson Family Novel By Tracey Cramer-Kelly. This story of second chances is one I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. From page one I was drawn into Kira and Jamie’s emotional story. The author does a wonderful job of writing characters you can relate to and feel a connection with as well as feeling the connection they have together. With each passing emotion that’s written you feel it more than just read the words and that’s one of my favorite parts of their story. Each character has their own heartbreaks in the past and are trying to figure out life after them. The storyline is well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. The characters are complex and believable, you truly feel like it plays out in front of your eyes. This is my first book by this author and it definitely won’t be my last, I’m excited to see where else readers are taken with this author. I’m giving this book a five star review because it truly had me feeling like I never wanted it to end. I recommend this to everyone.

Calling the Curveball: A Lawson Family Novel is a second chance romance by Tracey Cramer-Kelly. This is the first book I have read by Tracey Cramer-Kelly, and I look forward to reading many more in the future. This book had me hooked on the very first page, and I couldn’t put it down until I read the last page. The characters and backstory were well laid out and the book flowed so well that I couldn’t believe when I got to the end. I just wanted it to go on forever.
Jamie and Kira’s story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming at times. It had me on an emotional roller coaster that I didn’t want to get off, Ms. Cramer-Kelly’s writing style made me feel like I was right there with the characters, going through their ups and downs. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing what comes nextin this series and by this author. I highly recommend this book, especially if you are looking for a great fall romance.

Calling the Curveball was a great 5 star read.

I was pulled in right from the beginning with the epilogue. We jump ahead six years. Jamie is umping at a baseball game when he sees her in the crowd. There is something about her that he can’t stop looking at.

Kira is intrigued and really wants to talk to Jamie. It’s been two years since her divorce and he’s single. What would it hurt?

Everyone is a little messed up sometimes.

When these two start dating it was great. You could feel the connection between them. But of course real life things get in the way along with some things from the past. Can these two get past the hurdles and make things work?

This was my first read by this author and I loved it. I was pulled right in by her writing and couldn’t stop until I was done. I really liked this couple and I really wanted them to get their HEA. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. If your looking for a great story with two people looking for a second chance at love this is the book for you.

Calling the Curveball is the first novel in the Family Lawson series by Tracey Cramer-Kelly. This is my first novel by this author.

Jamie Lawson has a bright future playing baseball until tragedy strikes, changing the course of his life. Five years later, he is still coping and trying to pick up the pieces of his shattered life.

In walks Kira Walker, who asked him and surprising he agrees but will the pain he still holds preventing him from finding love?

I don’t want to give anything away but this was an emotional story that I was not ready for but truly enjoyed. I fell in love with the characters as well as the supporting characters and hope we see them again in their own books.

The emotional roller-coaster ride from the relationship between Jamie and Kira just had me wishing for a happy ending for them and for Jamie to finally move forward in life and be happy. With such a simple plot, the story was more complex and intricate with the characters and their relationships to each other.

I hope there is another book in the series because I would definitely read it.

Calling the Curveball is the first book in Tracey Cramer-Kelly’s Lawson Family series. It is beautifully written story of second chances that throws us into loss, guilt, shattered dreams mixed with hope, faith, family and love … it is my first read by this writer and I am looking forward to the next book in the Lawson Family series as she introduced couple of characters whose story did not get its conclusion yet!
Calling the Curveball is the story of Kira Walker, recovering from a messy divorce couple of years earlier, and of Jamie Lawson who lost his wife 6 years ago along with his dream of succeeding as a baseball player. Neither of the think that they are ready to move forward until their paths collide at a little league Fourth of July softball tournament …
I invite you to discover their path after Kira boldly invites Jamie on a date … will it be a summer fling or is it a beginning of a new life … you will not regret the time you spend with them and their families and friends in this small Minnesota town!

Jamie had dreamed of becoming a Major League baseball player ever since his days of playing Little League. He had just received an offer to try out for the majors when a tragic accident ended his chance for a professional baseball career. Fighting guilt and nightmares, he struggles to put his life back together.

Kira has issues of her own. Still reeling from her ex-husband’s betrayal, she isn’t sure that she is ready for a serious relationship or if she ever will be ready.

In Calling the Curveball Tracey Cramer-Kelly has created strong, complicated characters and an engaging storyline that captured my attention in the first few chapters and kept me reading well into the night until I finished the book. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Cramer-Kelly and she has already become one of my favorite authors.

This is the first book in The Lawson Family series. The Lawsons are a big loving family, but they are not without problems and family drama. I really enjoyed Jamie’s story and I am looking forward to reading Ian’s story.

Calling the Curveball (A Lawson Family Novel) by Tracey Cramer-Kelly

4 Stars!!!!

I like that once again I have found a new author to read. I found that the authors writing style
was quite refreshing. I really liked the fact that nothing was really straight forward and that gave
this book a real sense of realism. Life isn't predictable and neither should a book be. I was hooked right to the end.

The combination of Jamie and Kira is just sensational. I really liked the fact that both had pasts
and that both had to heal. This story really shows that everyone deserves that special someone. I really like how the author brought the couple together and how everything works out in the end. It really shows that even in real life we all have our dreams and desires and how when we find the right person everything can fall into place even if we have our doubts we should never give up on our dreams.I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

This was such an amazing start to a series I quickly became obsessed with. Baseball and Hockey are my two favorite sports so this was hands down a must read from me. It was a sweet, emotional, second chance romance that will suck you in from the beginning and it won't let you go until the very end.

Kira is a school teacher who is finding herself after a messy divorce. She visits her sister during the summer months and is instantly attracted to the local umpire. I love how she stepped out of her comfort zone and asks him out and he shocks her by saying yes!

Jamie (aka sexy umpire) had his career change in the matter of seconds. His life changed from pro baseball player to chiropractor and umpire. The wounds haven't healed in his mind but some Kira has changed it all for him.

I absolutely become quickly obsessed with this story. I loved the writing, the characters, the the roller coaster it sent me on. I'm so excited to see where this series takes us!

Calling The Curveball book one in The Lawson Family Series written by Tracey Cramer-Kelly. This is a story about getting a second chance at happiness and a future. Jamie has isn’t looking for love or anything. He’s content in his life, atleast that what he keeps telling himself. He owns his own business and even though it’s not his dream job it’s his. Kira is just stuck, she’s not sure what she wants out of life anymore after a nasty divorce. She has her own house and teaches science but it’s not her dream job or where she wanted to be in life. When they meet at a ball game that Jamie is the umpire in and Kira takes a chance and asks him out it wasn’t supposed to be more than a summer fling, if it even made it that far. The characters are unique and well thought out, you can relate to their fears and feelings. I can’t wait for book two.

Calling the Curveball :A Lawson Family Novel By Tracey Cramer-Kelly is a second chance romance novel. I absolutely loved this story and the emotional rollercoaster ride it took me on.This author knows how to weave a story to make you feel like you are apart of it as well. This story at times pulled my heart strings. I didn't want to put it down once I started reading. I just simply love both characters Kira and Jamie. I felt the emotions the characters were feeling Jamie is a chiropractor who lost his dream of playing baseball by an accident. Kira is a teacher who is smart , caring , and beautiful and also attracted to Jamie. Can these two have a relationship? Will they get their HEA?I highly recommend reading this book to find out! I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.

Calling the Curveball by Tracey Cramer-Kelly

Four Stars
I liked how this story used metaphors to get a little laughter going. I have never been a fan of baseball. But reading this book has me wanting to watch a few games to check out the scenery. Jamie was getting his big shot to go pro when tragedy hit his life. The lost he suffer was heartbreaking. He is very courageous for carrying on the way he did. He did have his issues but don’t we all? Kira came with her own emotional baggage. She seemed very indecisive to me. Her emotions jumped around a lot single conversations. Overall it was a good story. The characters were flawed and gave 100% to their performance. I usually can get a feel of how things can happen in a story. I was glad that the author deviated from the norm. I read HEA to escape my busy life. So I’m glad I picked up this story.

Calling The Curveball: A Lawson Family Novel by Tracey Cramer-Kelly

4-stars

Kira recently divorced her former husband. Jamie is recovering from the loss of his wife 6 years ago. The two meet at a small town game where Jamie is umping. Taking a chance, they began to date. They both have a lot of baggage from their past to work through. This was a sweet romantic novel. I found the characters easy to relate to and they were very realistic. The storyline itself was very realistic and easy to follow. I was amazed at how much guilt Jamie had to work through on top of other things. It broke my heart. Kira was such an amazing and patient woman. I would not have been able to be patient with the things she was patient with. It seemed that she grew up learning to do that though as revealed through her past story in the novel. Such a great read!

Calling the Curveball a Lawson Family Novel by Tracey Cramer-Kelly appears to he the first and I hope not the only look about this great family.

Jamie Lawson had dreams of being a baseball player, but that dream never came true. His life changed in several ways that day and he has lived in his own world until he meets Kira.

Kira Walker is two years removed from a divorce that shattered her emotional. Her Ex is a jerk, and to me made it seem like everything that went wrong was her fault. She isn't ready to move forward until she sees the hot umpire at the baseball game.

This story is about so much more than second chances, it ended up being a lot deeper than I expected it to he but I don't know if it would have worked any other way. I really like Jamie and Kira, but Ian and Ben both have my mind racing. I have to know what happened to them and where they end up.
