When Holly Anna Paladin’s fourteen-year-old foster daughter, Sarah, disappears, Holly senses something is terribly wrong. The teen has a life-threatening disease, and if circumstances don’t harm Sarah, running out of her medication will. Holly turns to the one person she knows she can trust—Chase Dexter. He’s one of the city’s finest detectives, but he’s also her ex-fiancé. Can the two work together to find answers and rescue Sarah? Or is the history between them too great an obstacle? With every minute that passes and every new lead that’s found, the urgency to find Sarah escalates and Holly’s outrage grows. She’s determined not to let Sarah down. But as danger closes in, Holly’s world veers on shattering . . . and this time it might be beyond repair.
Christy Barritt is an author, freelance writer and speaker who lives in Virginia. She’s married to her Prince Charming, a man who thinks she’s hilarious—but only when she’s not trying to be. Christy’s a self-proclaimed klutz, an avid music lover who’s known for spontaneously bursting into song, and a road trip aficionado. She’s only won one contest in her life—and her prize was kissing a pig (okay, okay… actually she did win the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Suspense and Mystery also). Her current claim to fame is showing off her mother, who looks just like former First Lady Barbara Bush When she’s not working or spending time with her family, she enjoys singing, playing the guitar, and exploring small, unsuspecting towns where people have no idea how accident prone she is.
I have read the entire series. I hope book number seven is on it's way I couldn't believe it ended this way. Holly loves Chase and he loves her now get them back together! I enjoyed all of this series the author sure knows how to grab your attention. I was late going to sleep more than one night. Please write number seven that's the number of completion in the bible.
Filled with twists and turns, Christy Barritt takes her readers for a ride while trying to solve another mystery. But this time, the mystery takes place a little too close for comfort. It deals with her foster daughter. She is kidnapped, and Holly is on a race against the clock to save her before her diabetes medicine runs out. There is moments of confused sparks between Chase and Drew. Holly has a hard time deciding if she did the right thing in breaking up with Chase or should she stay with Drew. Too many questions that haunt her while she tries to find Sarah, her foster daughter. Filled with many actions scenes, I really enjoyed this latest installment, and I know Barritt will write another mystery soon to take my breath away.
RANDOM ACTS OF OUTRAGE is a different sort of suspense/mystery by Christy Barritt. Holly-Anna's foster daughter with diabetes is abducted -- or ran away -- but without any of her medical supplies, putting her at risk of losing her life. Holly is desperate to find Sarah and contacts her ex-boyfriend, Chase, a police officer, to help her. This opens up a whole slew of other problems as current boyfriend Drew is the jealous sort.
Who did Sarah go with the day she disappeared, and why? It was someone she knew, footage shows her smiling and willingly getting into the car. But every lead ends at a dead end, time is running out, and now Holly's life is being threatened.
I couldn't figure out whodunit or why or how they would figure this mystery out and had to keep reading to find out. It is a quick read, I read it in a Sunday afternoon in one sitting.
Fans of suspense, Christy Barritt, or this particular series will love this book.
RANDOM ACTS OF OUTRAGE is the sixth book in the series, but you do not have to read the previous ones to understand this one. However, if you want to know, the others are (in order): Random Acts of Murder, Random Acts of Deceit, Random Acts of Scrooge, Random Acts of Malice, Random Acts of Greed, and Random Acts of Fraud.
It’s great to have Holly back, and, of course, she has a mystery to solve. This time it involves her new teen foster daughter, Sarah, who has disappeared. And she has to work with her old boyfriend, Detective Chase Dexter. This puts a strain on the relationship with her new boyfriend, Drew Williams. The suspense increases, and it’s hard to figure out who is guilty. That keeps the pages flying until the end. This won’t be the last in the series, but I hope we won’t have to wait so long in between books next time. The characters leap off the page and won’t leave your mind. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my o
I greatly enjoyed my return visit to the Ohio environs of Holly Anna Paladin and look forward to seeing where author Christy Barritt takes the character.
This story caught my attention right away. Another of Christys wonderful stories. Very enjoyable reading, story you can follow and look forward to what will happen next!
Another page-turner of a novel with Holly's foster daughter at the crux. The girl has vanished and left no clue of where she went, and it's a race against time to save her, since her diabetes could easily turn deadly. Definitely was on the edge of my seat for this one!
I LOVED this 6th installment of the Holly Anna Paladin Series by Christy Barritt! When Holly Anna's foster daughter comes up missing, she has a difficult time believing she just ran away as many people suggest. With the help of ex-fiance Chase, Holly is tireless in following every lead and clue, no matter how obscure, but relationship drama sometimes gets in the way. When current boyfriend, Drew, demands Holly stay away from Chase, she is torn between the guy who is kind, loving, and willing to commit, and the ex who refuses to commit. When Holly gets too close tot he truth, her life is threatened. Will they find Sarah, will Chase and Holly repair their relationship, will Drew and Holly finally be on the same page, or will Holly's whole life blow up in face? I could not wait to get to the end to find out!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions are my own.
Another suspense Holly Anna Paladin novel that I could not put down. This time Holly's foster daughter comes up missing. Of course she enlists the help of her ex-boyfriend much to the chagrin of her current boyfriend Drew. Holly has a checklist of the perfect boyfriend and Drew checks off on every item so why isn't she head over heels in love with him. Frankly even though is supposedly the perfect man for Holly he rubbed me the wrong way. There was something about him that I just did not like. One good thing about him that he is willing to commit to her now which Chase never could because of his past baggage.
Like all Holly books she was able to solved the mystery but another thing is unresolved which is who does she want to spend the rest of her live with. Is it Chase or is it Drew. I don't like it that book 7 has not been released yet. I binged read all 6 books in a couple weeks time and I'm so ready for the next one.
It is an honorable thing to be a foster parent, especially when you love the child enough to consider adopting her. That is what Holly Anna Paladin did. Now how would you feel if that child goes missing? Holly Anna searched everywhere for 14-year-old Sarah. She found lead after lead that always seemed to end in a dead end. Her ex-fiancé, Chase, was the lead detective, so she had a lot of contact with him. This irritated her present boyfriend, Drew. This is a fast-paced book with danger and mystery around every corner. Read it for a fantastic trip into the life of a foster mother who is single, but desired by two men. Holly Anna is an amateur detective who is very smart. She gets help from her best girlfriend, Jamie. Jamie tries to keep Holly Anna grounded and safe, but things always happen that are scary and exciting. Thank you, Christy, for giving me this book.
Book series bring favorite characters. When the next release finally drops, you are reunited with fictional friends. After all, you have been there since chapter one. Christy Barritt has crafted Holly Anna Paladin so richly that you count her as a friend and whisper, perhaps not so quietly, words of warning and encouragement.
Join Holly on a race to find her missing foster daughter whose life is in peril due to a medical condition. When others brush off her disappearance as a runaway, Holly knows better. The downside: she must work with ex-fiance' detective, Chase while attempting to appease current boyfriend, Drew. What's a woman of etiquette to do?
I received a copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
I'm not gonna lie, I don't personally know Christy Barritt, but I love, love, love 😍😍 her writing. I've only read the Holly Anna paladin series, almost all of Gabby St Claire series, and the first one of the worst detective series, but I plan to read-ALL of her books. Her books are pretty quick and easy to get thru, and this book wasn't any different. I didn't even like putting the book down to sleep or go to the bathroom 😂😂. I'm not gonna give spoilers, but Christy has done it again with Holly Anna. Thankfully, Holly isn't sick with something major, she needs to go back with Chase, and she needs to go back to being a social worker.

I love the way Christy Barritt spins a mystery! I would rate this with 5 stars, but I was somewhat annoyed by the romantic angle. I can't stand all that angst and indecision. Not to mention the lack of communication between the characters. Just SAY what you are thinking for crying out loud! haha| The mystery itself was intriguing, and I appreciated the diabetes education. I think many people are ill-informed about how serious this disease can be. This book was very well-written and suspenseful. I definitely recommend this series.
One of the best Holly books. It kept my interest from start to finish and it was fun to read about one of my favorite characters again. Holly’s foster daughter comes up missing and Holly is determined to find her. It’s great she is working again with Chase. This was a gift from the author. This review is my own thoughts and words.
Loved the book, and am ready for Holly to get somewhere in the relationship department. I don't want the series to end,but this girl is too old fashioned to be foregoing her dreams of being married and having kids. She's acting more like her mud twenties than late 20's.
“Random Acts of Outrage” by Christy Barritt is the fifth book in the Holly Paladin series. This is another great read by Christy Barritt. This book deals with Holly’s foster child missing. There are so many twists and turns going on in this book in trying to find Holly’s foster child. I definitely recommend this book and all of the books in this series.
This was nice cozy mystery and being yourself. I loved the storyline, the intriguing cast of characters with suspense, twists and turns. This book is recommended for those who love cozy mysteries.
I am one of Christy‘s biggest fans. I really do enjoy her books. This one I especially enjoyed! I’ve always wanted to be a foster parent and have not yet had the opportunity. I hope that I get to be someday.
I had forgotten how much I loved the Holly Anna series. This was such a good book. It kept me in the edge of my seat. I’m not loving the whole love triangle thing so I hope the Author write her with the right guys soon haha. Can’t wait for the next one in this series!
I love the Holly Paladin books. Very exciting as usual. Set in Cincinnati which is one of the reasons I love these books. And Holly is so cute and quaint, and laugh out loud funny. This has a lot of suspense and won’t disappoint.
I can't believe this series!! There was no resolution for Holly at the end! If I could, I'd give it a half star! I thought I liked this author but with a series like this I'm clings to have to rethink that. What a disappointment!!
This is a great mystery series. It has all the thrill that I love. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book and series.
Holly has become a foster parent. When her foster daughter disappears Holly puts all her detective skills to work to find her. Of course she couldn't do it with out Chase.
This story was more indepth and really good. Covered some good topics like foster parenting and diabetes, finding what God wants for your life while being who God made you to be.
Foster mom daughter is missing. Diabetic scare plays into trauma. Many senarios to consider. Love triangle to figure out. Health issues to worry about.
