Jack Turner doesn't play games. He's single and that’s the way he likes it. Women? They’re entertainment as far as he's concerned. And for indulging his insatiable appetite for sex, which may be bordering on addiction.
Jessie Sparks can’t help herself. She’s falling in love with Jack, but she’s sure he’ll never see her as anything more than his inexperienced, awkward friend. She's also pretty sure that a guy like Jack is too hot for a good girl like her to handle.
For the first time in his life, Jack really cares about a girl. The last thing he wants to do is to hurt the feelings of this pretty little sweetheart who seems determined to turn his world upside down. But there’s no way he can change. Not even for her. And Jessie could never be just a one-night stand.
He swears they’re just friends. But those sizzling, stolen kisses are getting hot...hot enough to cause the raging inferno that’s about to be lit.
**Warning...this story is not a hero/heroine romance. The characters in this book may be dark, damaged, and flawed. It is the first in a series, contains sexually explicit scenes and ends on a cliffhanger. It is intended only for readers 18+ who enjoy dark, erotic stories that feature difficult relationships. "Lit" is the first book in the Wrecked Hearts series.
Gabrielle Gibson spends most of her free time writing sexy love stories about difficult relationships and the redemption of damaged and dark hearts. She is committed to leading the broken characters that live in her head out of the darkness and into the light. She’s a self-described entertainment junkie with an affinity for 80s music, especially hair metal. She lives in southern Maryland with her sexy rocker husband, lover and best friend, Bob. He continually inspires her obsession with the alpha male.
Countless scenes until nearly the end of him having sex with so many different ow that were very explicit. I know they weren’t a couple but he knew h had feelings for him but even with her near him he had sex with ow countless times. After the 5th women he had sex with I gave up counting because the guy literally couldn’t say no to any women apart from the h. The h was pathetic pining for him but settling to being his friend if that’s the only way she could keep him whilst knowing and watching as he slept with one woman after another right in front of her. This is not ROMANCE but a book of horror in my opinion. Needless to say I won’t be reading the next one!

The H sleeps with tons of ow. Eventually, he becomes official with the h 😐. Meanwhile, h is pining for H, as his friend, while he continues f****** one woman after the other. Towards the end, they finally get together. Of course, the H has had feelings for h for a while 😑. Sure didn’t stop his d from going into countless OW’s bodies.
If you like reading about how the H got off with so and so (literally every woman walking in the book) instead of the h, then this is for you.
I did not enjoy it - It is not worth reading everything the h has to go through, in order to get her happiness. NOT worth it.
There is no development of anything between the H and h whatsoever......the entire time, from start to finish is the H fucking every other woman in front of the h, while she just keeps pining for him. The attraction is there (which doesn’t really count cos he is attracted to every single woman ever mentioned) but they don’t really act on it. I absolutely cringed and pitied her. UGHHHHHH. No amount of grovelling would make me like him. Ever.
I'd give this book a negative rating if I could just for how much I hated both MC's.
If you want to read a book about a PATHETIC sad sack female pining after an arrogant piece of shit who will pretty much fuck anything, and brag to HER about it, then you'll enjoy this book. If you want to read about a female with some self-respect and self-esteem who gets to enjoy hot sex with OM while thinking; maybe something may happen in the future with her man whore friend, don't waste your time on this crap. A doormat has more going for it than this moron.
If you don't believe me check out this quote below:
'Jack knew that Jessie had a crush on him, but he figured it would pass fairly quickly. Girls like Jessie had attentive boyfriends who took them to nice restaurants and sent flowers. They didn’t suck dicks in parking lots after a night of drinking or answer booty-call text messages at two o’clock in the morning. Those were the only kinds of girls Jack had any interest in.'
And you get to read pages of him fucking OW - this chick was so pathetic I was actually hoping someone would put her out of her misery. Sadly I am serious. This wasn't angst - it was fucking torture - I kept going hoping for one hint of backbone. It just got worse. All she could think about was how hot he was.
This story is not a HEA and it ends with a cliffhanger. I'm not one for reading books with cliffhangers due to the fact that I hate waiting for the next book. I like to read it all and not have to worry about a second book.
Over all the story plot is good, however Jake the main manwhore is really pissing me off. His character is so utterly arrogant and his ego just fills the room. There were so many times I just wanted to haul off and hit the guy. He makes me so mad that I'm sure while I was cursing his character my head was spinning around while doing so.
I just want to slap some sense into Jesse and tell her to get over it and move on, that she could do much better but I can't because there is just something about their connection that has me hooked. However, I can really feel Jesse's pain and frustration along with her jealousy. The author has a way with words that makes you feel like you are part of the story. Can't wait for the second book to come out.
I loved this book and can't wait to read the rest of this series! I grew up reading this genre style of books, Jackie Collins being my old favorite because it was such a nice surprise the Author had her own spin on this genre! I loved that Lit focused on Jessie & Jack instead of me skimming through chapters of the side characters while I was trying to connect with the main characters; which isn't to say I wouldn't be interested in the future! It definitely made me feel for both Jessie & Jack with their backgrounds being so different but loved that neither character "lost" who they were so quickly that it wasn't believable yet slowly see how they are changing each other and still waiting for more!!! Can't wait ...………...Great Characters, Great Sex & Great Story!
One thing is for sure...Jack Turner is a complete manwhore and I love it! This book is gripping and will have you turning pages quickly. The author(s) really know how to write sex well and she keeps you on the edge of your seat. Jesse is a complete sweetheart and I cannot wait to see what will happen between her and Jack. I will say that I felt teased and toyed with when it comes to Jack and Jesse's relationship. I have to know what happens next.
It's slow to start but keep reading its get really good! Read this.
So I don’t really want to rate this but I need to vent. I love the whole manwhore trope and even cheaters but there has to be SOMETHING between the H and h. Not just a continuous string of ONS where he gets off on every other page and she just fucking pines for the asshole!!! This story could have been soooo much better if she had at least gotten herself a little. I mean she was such a fucktwit (no that word is not a typo) and I wanted to smack the shit out of her. Anyway, thanks for listening and I am a total sucker for reading the next book. I can’t stand not knowing how it ends! I just hope she finally gets laid

The fact that Jack Turner is such a manwhore AND I'm still a fan of his by the end of the book means the authors got this one SO right! This book was so fun to read! Jessie is such a sweetheart and Jack is just the total opposite. However, I still found myself wanting them to be together! Can Jessie change Jack or will Jack change Jessie? Time will tell... And the cliffhanger at the end!! I cannot WAIT to read book two.
Jack and Jessie have a story that is one of passionate love and friendship. Their relationship and the fight with oneself to comes to terms with being in love is profound. It is a slow burn.
Jack being a male sluzzzzzzzzzzzzzz can’t go for his new work mate Jessie even though they obviously like each other and keep dancing around the fact. Abit weird sometimes because they kind of read of each other perspective. Ended on a cliff hanger that will have me reading the next book tomorrow.
I struggled with the POV changing every couple of paragraphs and it not being clear. Instead of sticking with a POV for half a page and having a break where it was clear, it says the characters name was thinking.......To show that the POV had changed. I struggle with this type of book and I only lasted halfway through the first proper chapter before I have up. Even though the story line was really promising.
The main female character had a bit more self respect! I get they were friends but cooking for the friends all the time was a bit much. I just wish she’d been a bit less of a door mat and showed some more strength of character. I know written the way it was is important for the story line, but I was so frustrated that she kept putting herself out there for him after he’d been sleeping around. Kissing him just so quickly after he’d been in bed with someone else…..have some self respect woman!!

Oh man did this book annoy me. I couldn't believe the chauvinistic and shallow attitude of the male lead. I didn't find anything redeeming about him. His honesty was not only brutal but intentionally hurtful. The crazy thing is, I just couldn't put it down. It was everything you'd expect from a book called Wrecked Hearts, I have already downloaded the second one.
Jack and Jessie are different as day and night. Their one commonality is they work together. She is sunshine, cute, funny and smart. He is good looking, hard working and all about whatever he can get without any strings attached. Surprisingly they have become friends probably due to the many hours of working together. Can they figure a way to bring things closer to happily ever after?
This is book one and a fine way to pass some time.
This book is well written and I do like the banter between Jack and jessie, the friendship building between the 2 is great to see it growing, the sex is him with a while host of other women and his over sharing of this with jessie which I found a bit overkill and it got for boring for me , less of that and more between Jack and jessie and rating would be higher
Jack is a manwhore. Jessie is everything he isn’t looking for. As they work together on cases, they have to travel and she becomes his friend, and whilst she catches feelings, he isn’t quite there yet.
Omg! 🤦🏻♀️ there are no words for Jack except 🔔 🔚 and douche canoe and Jessie is basically a doormat. I need to know if she finally stands up for herself
Not my usual book genre, but I was curious to read this series. Was surprised to see the characters develop through book one and now intrigued to follow them in to book 2. Nice work Gigi!
Good read. The man you want is a player but you can't help but falling for him. The build up in the friendship to needing to be more over taking the dark sexual needs.
