"He never saw love coming...until it crashed into him. "

"San Amaro Singles, Book 3"

Brooke Lowry has a mission: fly to Tahiti, pluck PR nightmare Dylan Schell out of whatever party he's in, bring him home and clean up his image.

It was her idea for Jackson Cole clothing company to sponsor the pro surfer. But the chances of saving this deal-and her career-look pretty slim when she finds the sexy party boy "shooting the curl" with two beach bunnies.

Dylan is finally getting back on track, and the next big event would put him over the top...if it wasn't being held in San Amaro, where he'd be forced to watch his best friends Matt and Corey tie the knot and move on without him.

He'll do anything to keep that from happening, including taking shameless advantage of a tropical cyclone-three days cut off from civilization-to distract the lovely Brooke into his bed.

Despite her moment or three of weakness, Brooke won't be deterred. And suddenly Dylan finds himself facing a lot of things-his hometown, his past, and something he didn't see coming. Love.

Warning: Check it, dude, this book contains a bad boy surfer who gets slammed by fierce waves but gets back up, a buttoned-up woman who learns to chillax, and some righteous shreddin' the gnarl.

DNF @ 32%

Started off entertaining but then the story and characters just become very unoriginal with the hero wanting to have a woman to own/possess but can't because his surfing passion takes him over the world. Well, here's a suggestion and it's not a hard come up with: find someone who surfs and travel for a partner. Just because surfing/job requires a lot of traveling doesn't mean it needs to make life miserable and fucked up. Ta da!

I just can't understand why authors keep making their characters want something, need something, but do the opposite. Is this really showing that their characters are complex or full of depth? No, it does not. It just makes them look stupid and immature.

The prose is good and it's not a bad book in general but I'm just very tired of these cliche.

This was a slow read in the beginning, Slow in some parts throughout, i think this was because of all of the surfing/business talk for me personally. But overall a very good book with great love and lust. I did definitely enjoy this book.
Brook and Dylan are drawn to eachother in that magnetic lust that turns into something more for the both of them.

After reading With Strings Attached, I felt Dylan’s pain of being cast aside in his threesome with his best friend, Matt, and Matt’s semi-girlfriend, Corey. Although Matt didn’t suffer from lack of sexual companionship. In the one year since his break-up he’s developed quite the reputation for being sexually indulgent. The story opens with Brooke, a representative from his main money-making sponsor, walking in on him engaging in a threesome with two girls. Quite a way to meet for the first time.

Brooke and Dylan end up mixing a lot of pleasure with their business. It’s easy to understand how the two hooked up. Dylan’s got an insatiable appetite and incessantly flirtatious. And more notably, he’s got a delicious, perfectly sculpted, pro surfer ass. Add a little massage oil and things easily slipped from business to pleasure.

All in all, this is a great series. It’s easy to get attached to the main characters and the author does a great job of tying the minor characters throughout the story lines.

Wow, what a ride....no pun intended... Such a good book. I have to admit I have not read the first 2 in this series, yet, but I'm glad I was given the opportunity to read this one. I honestly think it will be my favorite out of the 3. Definitely keep an open mind about relationships for this series. Loved the characters and how Kelly Jamieson connected all the characters from the previous books into this one. I really would want to read a 4th in this series based on Brooke's and Dylan's characters.

This book was just ok for me. These characters were hard to get behind. There was not any depth to them. This is a story of Dylan, a surfer gone wild and his sponsors pretty PR person, Brooke, sent to try to reign him in.

This story didn’t have much depth. It was pretty predictable and the characters were just ok.

I am all for a good sexy scene, but this book mentions threesomes like it is the norm...sorry not my thing. Maybe one instance would be fine, but not several instances. That was a turn off for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

So interesting to read Dylan's HEA, after his ejection from a temporary threesome in book 1. I really didn't like Dylan all that much, I wasn't convinced that he a) was a decent guy and b) could actually be a good partner to Brooke, until the end when he finally started making good decisions and doing the right things. A good story, emotional and sexy, as Ms. Jamieson's books always are.

Oh gosh - this book with the heroine being so ... static at first and then the hero being more a "hero" - but you get it because he's emotionally damaged ... and then he makes up for a lot
and there's so much going on and he's clueless but then he tries to make up for it

I can see myself re-reading it
[NB I haven't read the other books in this ~series - of course that's never bothered me]

Ok

It was nice.
Unnecessary vagueness.
This it's the first book in the series for me, I think. I have read the author before, I just don't remember what I thought about the experience.
I will not actively read the series but I won't be surprised if I accidentally read more from this author.

After the way things ended for Dylan in the first book of the series, With Strings Attached, I was glad to see him get his chance at love. Healed from his injuries Dylan is back doing what he loves which is surfing but in order to forget about the pain of his past and the way things ended with his two best friends he is drowning his sorrows with partying and women.

Brooke is a PR rep for Jackson Cole who is sponsoring Dylan and her company is not happy with the media attention he has been garnering. She has been sent to keep him in line, but when they get stranded due to the weather he is about to show her how much fun crossing the line could be.

Humorous banter and hot chemistry are what brings them together, but it is the emotional connection between them that makes them so perfect for each other. I liked how Dylan started to realize how his actions impacted others and Brooke isn’t about to put up with his bad behavior. I have enjoyed this series and this book was no exception. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Rating Clarification: 4.5 stars

I may have mentioned that I am I lust with a little beach town named San Amaro. It has everything; sand, surf, shops…sex. Sex? Say what? Why would I mention that in the town’s brochure? Just read this series and you will get an idea.

Slammed. First let me say how much I adore the title off this book, it just fits the story. The story? Well, this is one I was beyond excited to get. You see, I met our resident surfer, Dylan Schell, in With Strings Attached and I fell for him hard. Not only is he sexy but his past made me melt and just want to hug him, with all four limbs tightly around his body. I know. I know. Keep it in your pants right? Just wait until you meet him in this book. Great Googly Moogly, just wait.

So, Dylan left San Amaro, alone and is back in the water showing the world he is a champ. He is also showing that he is a party boy who likes to proposition flight attendants to join certain clubs and enjoy a public orgy or…you get the idea. Enter Brooke Lowry, a member with the PR department for the company who sponsors Dylan, Jackson Cole. Brooke is sent half way around the world to the tropical paradise of Tahiti to get to Dylan to reign it in or lose his sponsorship. Ah, Tahiti; such a beautiful place that is prone to terrible storms. What to do when you are forced to stay inside a hotel room with a sexy surfer who you kinda know and more than kinda have the hots for and who happens to feel mutually about you and the situation? Oh Brooke; que the Marvin Gaye please.
All day, Brooke. I want to do this all day. You and me in this bed.

Works…for…me.

These two were on fire. I loved their passion and their playfulness. The way Brooke gets Dylan to return to San Amaro and the counter offer he throws back, you know there are more great times ahead for our couple. But once they are out of the magical spell of the tropics what happens back home. I mean, Brooke is “in charge” of Dylan and it’s her job to make sure he stays on the straight and narrow but, this is Dylan!
Sleeping with him had been incredible, and even though she wondered how this going to impact their working relationship once back in California, she’d done it anyway because…because…well she couldn’t exactly explain it other than-

As they are once again in the real world of work and responsibility, things get a bit messy, a bit clouded and the lines begin to blur. I loved watching Brooke and Dylan dance around each other, dance around the tension and the magnetic pull between them that is undeniable. Brooke’s family is fantastic and her dad is hilarious with one line that had me shaking my head and laughing.

Now back in San Amaro, Matt and Corey are getting married. This is not an easy peasy visit for Dylan; he is still dealing with the way he left and what happened before it. How could he be around his friends after their time together? Would things be the same, different, more? Sigh. Now me, I was a giddy fan girl seeing them again. I loved their story in With Strings Attached and was so happy to get bits of them as well as seeing Jules, Mike and Carlos from How to Love. It was one big San Amaro Singles reunion and it was like seeing old friends again.

As Dylan adjusts to his new role with Jackson Cole and attempts to let go of the party boy atmosphere we see another side to our sexy surfer. I was blown away by his talk about surfing and the relation of it to physics. He may talk in traditional mondo surfer talk but make no mistake that Dylan Schell is lackadaisical , far from it. I loved how he molded into this new version of himself, not only to save his career but the actual interest and love for his sport. Sigh. Have I mentioned yet that I adore Dylan?

Brooke, let me tell you I loved being in this girl's head and learning the cute and funny words she uses. She was a blast to read, there was not one thing I disliked about her. She was someone I could relate to from the first moment I met her. She was, for lack of a better description, a normal girl. Her family support is beautiful, her compassion for others is remarkable and her ability to love enormous. She is the perfect match in every way for Dylan and their chemistry is off the charts smokin'!

Slammed is a great conclusion to the San Amaro Singles series. It is quite frankly my favorite and that is a hard choice to make. The friendship, the relationship and just the love story of Dylan and Brooke was fantastic. It was sexy, (*ahem*…mirror on the dresser scene was one of my favorites alone with a certain nibble of someone’s anatomy), it was fun and it was oh so romantic. A total package and to quote Brooke it was…
Erotic. Exotic. Hypnotic.

A side note if you will . Substance with sex. I have said this many times when it comes to books. I need a substance with my sex and with this series it is what you get. Now, I am a red blooded female and I love reading a good sex scene but with that you have to have a story or you lose me. There was never a point of getting lost here. There is no gratuitous sex that is thrown in there just to have a sex scene. Sex is important for relationships, for romantic relationships, it’s intimate, it is how we connect on the most basic level and sometimes it’s how relationships begin. With Dylan and Brooke it was just as natural as the ocean creating a current or a wave.

I must admit I had zero expectations for this novel, especially since the title appears to be unapologetic about its overt intent; however, I found this story to be quite charming and cathartic. Yeah, I know, it’s about a surfer and his publicist, but I thought the exploration of fame, family, and what constitutes the meaning of “home” to be thoughtful and engaging.

So, yes, there’s plenty of “slamming” going on, but I was pleased to discover it had a lot more to offer than a quick surf through cliches.

I kept picturing Fast Times at Ridgemont High and wondering if this is Spicoli’s romance 🤣

Brooke has to been asked to retrieve surfer Dylan back to San Amaro. She knows that her job is on the line. But she has always had a crush on Dylan. She quickly falls prey to the sexy surfer while waiting on a hurricane to blow over in Tahiti.
However, Most of the book happens back in San Amaro. Definitely a 'reformed-playboy trope.' But it was sexy, satisfying, and fun. Dylan was the 3rd in the first book in the series (With Strings Attached), so if you read them in order, you have met him before.

Enjoy reading this story

Love this story! Brooke is an independent women with a strong family ties and a good heart. Dylan is a hot surfer with some family issues and low self-esteem. Together they will complete each other and mature to a healthy adulthood.
I love this author hockey series and this is my first on this series. Kelly Jamieson is a great author I enjoy reading her stories and recommended.

Fast moving, fun loving, surfer bad boy.

A really good book to read. Great characters, fast paced, some iffy situations, and honest emotions. You will ride the waves of this story with Dylan and Brooke to the shore or out to sea.

Great romantic read

If you are into surfers and completions you will love this book. Trying to keep Dylan out of trouble is Brooke's job, if she doesn't turn him round her job and his sponsors are on the line. Read to find out what happens.

4.5 STARS

here are few writers who can make me fall completely head over heels in love with cocky, arrogant, a$$hole heroes but Kelly Jamieson is one of them. Not only that she has me wanting to take my jacked up knee to the nearest beach and learn to surf… something I’ve NEVER had a desire to do and people, I am a HUGE Jack Johnson fan and that man lives for surfing and making movies about surfing. To say Slammed is a fantastic addition to the San Amaro Singles series is an understatement, this book for me is like a turning point. I liked the first one, and the second one is one of my all time favorite ménage stories ever, but this one seemed to glue them all together, it made the things that happened in the first two books make more sense. That’s not to say you can’t read this as a standalone, but I really think you’d enjoy it more if you’ve read the first two. No matter what you won’t be disappointed in this story, Kelly has the uncanny ability to transport you into the world of professional surfing until you are feeling the salt air on your face, the sand between your toes, and wishing you could catch the next righteous wave.

To say Dylan Schell and Brooke Lowry meet under unusual circumstances is putting it mildly and in fact I’m not sure there are too many women who could forget it and let it go, but Brooke has a job to do and she plans to do it to the best of her abilities. After convincing Jackson Cole clothing company to sponsor pro surfer Dylan, he had a horrific accident that almost cost him his career. Now he’s at the top of his game and his personal life is becoming a PR nightmare and Brooke is sent to deal with him. Dylan is very much the bad boy and he makes no apologies about his behavior but when he’s faced with losing his biggest endorsement client, he realizes he needs to listen to the pretty yet straight laced PR woman and play nice. Thing is he’d like to play nice with her but she isn’t buying his charm and isn’t impressed by him. Brooke has had a crush on Dylan since high school but she knows enough about his adventures to steer clear.

Honestly, most women shouldn’t like Dylan but I couldn’t help but see past his outside persona and realize that underneath he was hurting, confused, and surprisingly lonely. I also think he’s one of those guys who never in his life got called on his crap until Brooke came in his life. People accepted him and made excuses so it wasn’t that he couldn’t be a better person he just really didn’t know how to do it. I loved watching him realize how selfish he’s been and see him grow and change into the man he was capable of becoming. Those moments where he began to realize that there was more to the world than him, surfing, partying, and women were some of the best in the book.

I really did admire Brooke for taking a stand and being strong despite her feelings towards Dylan. I won’t say she was always smart in her actions because their unusual relationship would confuse most women. I loved that she didn’t back down that she held Dylan accountable for every action despite her feelings and that she called him on the carpet more than once when he didn’t hold up his end.

Together these two were combustible, maybe it was because of the circumstances that brought them together, maybe it was because their relationship had an expiration date, or perhaps it was because neither one ever expected the other to be exactly what the other one needed. Whatever the reason, their intimate moments were at times frantic, always sexy, and extremely gratifying for everyone involved including the reader.

Although the relationship between Brooke and Dylan was at the forefront of this book, there were several side stories going on which just added to the overall depth of an already amazing story. Dylan has a surf competition to train for and win, he’s doing his required PR duty with a few charities, and he’s in town to be the best man at his best friends Matt and Corey’s wedding adding to his overall stress. Meanwhile Brooke is trying to keep her job, keep Dylan on track, her family off her back, and most of all trying to figure out a way not to kick her boss where it hurts. To say these two have a lot to deal with in addition to a new relationship is putting it mildly and just when you think things are finally settling down, they are dealt another huge blow.

This is one of those books that I know I’ll revisit from time to time, there is just so much that is right about it I can’t help but want to go back and enjoy it again and again. With Slammed, author Kelly Jamieson has made this dudette want to chillax on the beach and watch the dudes catch some gnarley waves and for someone who hates sand…that’s a huge compliment! Bitchin’ job Ms. Jamieson!

How could I have missed this series? I'm so happy that I was given the opportunity to read all 2 books in the series at one time! What can I say, I'm a junkie for Kelly Jamieson books.

The series is basically about a few single people that are from a seaside town in California. They are all wonderful books with great characters and to die for stories. All of the emotions are brought out when reading, and dang if a few tears of sadness and joy didn't appear. The culmination of the characters that we met in book one, ends the series in book three with everyone getting their HEA!!! Just love when that happens.

My rating: 4 of 5 ⭐

When she had suggested her employer, Jackson Cole company, sponsor pro surfer, Dylan Schell, Brooke Lowry never expected him to fly off the rails completely. And least of all that she would be sent to Tahiti to break up his current fascination with drinking, drugs and debauchery, and haul his ass back home to try and salvage what was left of his image. The directives from her sleazy boss were clear; get him home, clean him up, or look for another job.

Dylan was getting back on his game after his accident last year. Sure, he had a bit of a rough go for a while there, and his head really hadn't been on straight, made a few bad calls, but now that his body was back on track and he was starting to gain his way up in the standings again, things weren't as bad. All he did now was occasionally blow off some steam......enough volunteers to help him with that!
So when a buttoned-up assistant manager from his biggest sponsor walked in on two lovely girls helping him unwind a little, of course he invited her to join them....

There is no way to deny the man's physical draw, but Brooke sternly reminds herself she is here in a professional capacity as she clearly lays things on the line for Dylan. They are to return to San Amaro the following night to start fixing his public image, or he will lose his largest contract. San Amaro is the last place Dylan wants to go, since his two best friends are planning to get married there and he really wanted to avoid having to watch them walk down the isle and away from him.

When a huge tropical storm hits the island and shuts down the airport for a few days, Brooke and Dylan are stuck in one hotel room with no phone and no electricity. With the mutual attraction already in place, it didn't take very long to blast into full-fledged lust and their days were spent in the most creative ways.......in bed. Once back on US soil, however, Brooke insists on covering herself back up in her professional shell, but not before Dylan finagles a promise from her to accompany him to the dreaded wedding.

With a PR plan firmly in place, Brooke does everything to keep Dylan focused on improving his image, and although reluctantly at first, he does his best while training for the biggest race in his life. But with the pressure from the executives at Jackson Cole, the looming wedding date the gruelling training schedule and the constant temptation of being in each others company, for both Dylan and Brooke, something's gotta give........

*******

WOW!!! Never have I gone so fast from disliking a main character to totally adoring him......

Dylan is the quintessential charmer...... He is a bad boy, bad for you and you know it, but you can't stay away from him. He is like whipping cream.......utterly tempting, makes you feel so scrumptious, tastes delicious while you indulge in it, but when it's gone......you feel rather bloated and guilty and sad. Except, Dylan is part himself and part persona. He is so used to living the life and playing the role of 'surfer dude', and all that it entails, that even when he starts feeling the need for other fulfillment in his life, he can't really see that for himself......yet. Until Brooke opens his mind to possibilities.

Brooke is a bit of an enigma. She appears to be a straight-laced, by the book kind of girl who doesn't like to veer of the fairly safe marked path in front of her. Yet when you look closer, she clearly knows no judgement when it comes to other people's choices and is open minded and big-hearted. Underneath her business-like veneer lives a warm blooded, passionate woman with a very tender heart, whose biggest fear is to give that heart and have it broken.

An incongruous couple, at first glance, but they say opposites attract. In this case, they don't take away from each other, they add to the other, or rather.........unlock in the other, certain parts of their personalities that were there but perhaps dormant. Neither Dylan nor Brooke really change their direction, as much as they become enriched by their meeting. A great subtle character development on display.

The passion the two generate is pretty stimulating and explosive, and as expected the sex scenes are deliciously intense...... true Kelly Jamieson!

✨Mondo!!✨

Note: Although SLAMMED is the third book in the San Amaro Singles series, each of the books can be read as standalone novels.

Review originally posted here: http://thebookpushers.com/2013/09/03/...

I’m a big fan of sports romance books, but I think this might be the first surfer book I’ve ever read. And I have to say, I’m pretty impressed.

Brooke loves her job as a PR rep for a large surfwear company, but her push to hire Dylan is starting to put her in hot water. Between his injury, okay performances, and numerous drug, alcohol and sex addictions, Dylan has become more of a PR nightmare than the spokesperson they hired. When Brooke gets sent to retrieve Dylan and keep him out of trouble, she will have her hands full with way more than she expected.

Dylan is at a decent spot in his career, but his personal life is unraveling faster than he imagined. Now that his number one sponsor is after him to clean up his act, Dylan is going to have to head home and face the two people he doesn’t want to see: best friend Matt and his fiance Corey. But with Brooke at his side, Dylan figures that he might just be able to pull off a fake smile and keep everyone in the dark to what is really wrong with him. The last thing he expects is the desire to keep Brooke firmly at his side, forever.

One of the things I really liked about this story was the relationship between Dylan and Brooke. When they end up getting stuck together on a tropical island in the middle of a hurricane, of course they end up between the sheets. And boy oh boy, is their time together fun and sexy. Add in the fact that Dylan is the epitome of laid-back surfer boy, while Brooke is little miss prim and proper, these two go together so perfectly.

Since I hadn’t read any other books in this series, I did feel a little lost when it came to the dynamics between Dylan, Matt and Corey. I didn’t feel as if Jamieson went into a lot of detail about their history together, and instead glossed things over a bit. I was a little confused about what happened, and although I figured it out in time, it did leave me a little hesitant as to where Dylan stood with both his best friend and his fiance, and Brooke.

I also thought that the PTSD that Dylan had after his accident could have been better explored, especially since it seemed as if he still had some lingering problems. I liked that Brooke was there for him when he needed her, and that she was able to help him move past it. I just wish we could have seen that play out a little more on the page.

I was so glad that one of the supporting characters really got what was coming to him. I loved the way Dylan helped to save Brooke’s job and work sanity, all while doing his “big gesture” and proving to her just how much he valued her in his life. It was super sweet and heroic and I loved it.

All in all I thought this was a wonderful read. I loved the surfer culture, and although we didn’t get to see much surfing in action, it was still a neat take on the sports romance genre. I thought Dylan and Brooke were super sexy together, and I loved the juxtaposition between her buttoned up ways, and his relaxed attitude toward everything. They were a wonderful fit and so fun to read.
I give Slammed a B

I just want to start off by saying I have LOVED all the books I've read by Kelly Jamieson but her newest release, Slammed, is my favorite from the San Amaro Singles series and even her other books. The story and characters captured my attention right from the beginning and I could not wait to see what would happen next especially since Dylan was such an unpredictable hero except when it came to sex. LOL!

I became totally smitten with Dylan who appeared in No Strings Attached, the first book in this series. Dylan was suffering so much pain after his surfing accident and then was left odd-man out after engaging in a threesome with his best friend, Matt and Corey. You couldn't help but "feel" for him and what he was going through. I could not wait to read his own story and the woman who would tame this sexy "bad" boy and capture his heart!

I adored Brooke who was strong, kind and could handle Dylan no matter what he "dished" out. I really enjoyed her first meeting with Dylan when she caught him in bed with two girls and I have to give "kudos" to her on how well she handled that awkward situation. I was chuckling throughout that scene because it was so much fun to read. It just got better and better as the story unfolded.

Kelly did an amazing job developing the relationship between Dylan and Brooke and their chemistry was "out of this world". OMG! The sex scenes were scorching HOT *fans self* and I could not get enough! Lucky for me, they were both insatiable. LOL! I enjoyed watching them fall in love and seeing the emotional connection they had beyond the sex.

It was great to see Matt and Corey again and see their close friendship with Dylan despite what happened in the past. I enjoyed their interaction with Brooke as well and waited with bated breath to see what would happen when Brooke found out the truth. She handled it with class and as much grace as possible and it was quite refreshing to see. Of course, being the romantic I am, I hoped she would forgive Dylan quickly since I loved them together.

I have to thank Kelly for writing such an awesome story and saving the best for last (though I hear there might be a possibility for more *crossing fingers*). This was SO worth the wait and I would definitely recommend this to romance readers. It can be read as a stand-alone but so much better if No Strings Attached is read first. I hope everyone enjoys this book as much as I did :)

SLAMMED is the third storyline in Kelly Jamieson’s adult, contemporary, erotic San Amaro Singles series focusing on a group of friends from San Amaro. Although this is the third in the series, it can be read as a stand alone without too much difficulty although the previously storyline characters to play a small role in the premise. This is PR rep Brooke Lowry and professional surfer Dylan Schell’s story. Dylan was introduced in book 1-With Strings Attached-Corey and Matt’s story.

The premise follows Brooke as she is ordered by her boss at the Jackson Cole clothing company to bring bad-boy surfer Dylan Schell in line. With his lucrative sponsorship contract hanging in the balance, Brooke knows that it is only a matter time before Dylan’s late night antics and sexual adventures push the big wigs at Jackson Cole to cancel his contract. But keeping Dylan in line takes a little finesse especially when he is walking sex on two legs. As the storyline progresses, Dylan and Brooke’s relationship becomes personal and with it another round of potential problems that could lead to one or both losing their jobs.

The relationship between Dylan and Brooke is hot, steamy and very sensual. Dylan is a man possessed-he wants Brooke, no matter the cost –and it will cost Brooke her heart. But Dylan’s past will come front and center when Brooke discovers that Dylan needed Brooke to play the role of girlfriend and nothing more. With that in mind, Brooke knew their time together was limited but her heart wanted something more.

Kelly Jamieson has written a storyline about two people brought together by fate and torn about by jealousy. Dylan is a man whose public persona didn’t match his private hell; and Brooke is the woman to tame the beast. Slammed is an emotional storyline that will tug at your heart for a man who wants to be loved and a woman who is afraid of loving too much.
