James A. Stewart (1910-1975) was a Scottish evangelist, best known for his wide-ranging campaigns in Eastern Europe before World War II. This brief volume tells the story of his conversion and early ministry in England and along the Scottish border; and it concludes with his arrival in Riga, Latvia. By the time Stewart wrote the book, he was living in Asheville, North Carolina; and so he takes pains to make his vocabulary understandable to an American audience. For instance, he calls the sport at which he was remarkably proficient “soccer football.”
