I think my opinion of this series on a whole is very different than most, considering all the 4 & 5 stars. It’s like we didn’t read the same books. Now, while I hate writing bad reviews about a book because I assume no author wants to hear their books being trashed after taking the time to write....buuut seriously these last two books were baaaad! And I ask myself did this author have someone proof read and give honest review? Because I can surely tell you I found a whole whack of inconsistencies throughout. I pay attention to detail from beginning to end and I find inconsistent story telling down right annoying. I debated about writing a review because do I really care and then I thought ya I do. Because seriously how can so many people think this series was awesome? Or perhaps I am just a picky reader? Or perhaps I hope the author will read this and pay more attention to certain details. Would I have loved to have been a proof reader for this series...you betcha, because all the many many inconsistent errors and drama overload may have produced a more satisfying read. But hey I am no author and maybe my opinion really doesn’t matter much. But I am an invested reader...and at this point I am no longer interested in reading other books by this author that once intrigued me.

The positive about this book....it started out good. Over all I thought the author can write decently and that’s a bonus. The premise of the story was good even if fast paced. I enjoyed the first two books and maybe even the third. I was irritated about some time lines, such as it went from beginning of September to late October within fifteen days, and that theme just continued. I tried to over look this and not let it affect my read. But by book four and five my attitude changed dramatically as the inconsistencies just kept piling up repeatedly and so much drama was spilling into this series, and not fully wrapped up even by end of series. So let’s get into the why this series didn’t work for me.

SPOILERS....this is probably where I will start spoiling the story...so stop reading my review if u don’t want to know pertinent info about these books.
Inconsistencies let’s see, I mentioned some above how a week turned into a month an so on, that continues repeatedly. But interesting fact, Christmas was skipped over completely without a mention.
In book one we learn Aiden has a brother. In book five we are told he is an only child.
In book one we learn Ellie has a stepsister Annabelle, who was five when Ellie’s mother starting tutoring her, fell in love with the girls father and was married rather quickly within about six months. Ellie was five years older than said sister but it also said she was eleven at marriage. We also learn Ellie is a recent graduate from Yale and are lead to believe that Annabelle is still in high school, rebelling and being all goth like. It goes further to say that Ellie’s mother and step father are pushing Annabelle to pursue college, even tho she doesn’t want to nor know what she wants to do. However parents are not willing to just support her financially to do nothing upon graduating. So much so that the mother would be choosing smaller schools and filling out the applications. Well folks we meet Annabelle in book four. But her name is Brie...what? Yep I guess author forgot what she had originally named character. Ohh and it is now January (times flies trust me) so Annabelle, I mean Brie is in college studying anthropology and has been for couple years and wants to take a break to travel. Ohh and she is 22. Which is the rough age I pegged newly graduated Ellie to be, (since her actual age was never revealed) and now the age difference between the two girls is only 2 years. And because lots of this book has repetitive information, just not consistent, the author writes Brie was 9 and Ellie was 11 when parents were married. Umm totally different than what we learned in earlier books.

Aiden was a weak man. Don’t let Mr Black persona fool you. That was just for random parts of the book. He was not dominant or alpha. Rather complete opposite. (My opinion) The issue with Blake summed it all up. While Aidens company is rapidly declining quite quickly I must add, at no point did Aiden ever confront or have a conversation with Blake about what happened and threaten him with alternatives given the fact he was going to force himself on Ellie. Nope nothing no fight for his beloved company. Will he be fired or won’t he? That seemed to drag in a useless manner without much fight. But probably because a week turned into a month in book time. His company was everything apparently, workaholic apparently. But no, I didn’t get that sense and definitely not at the shitty end of series when he could just yacht off for unforeseen amount of time.

The Tom - Carolyn incident, I didn’t get the point of it. And what it turned out to be was disappointing. Toms girlfriend Carrie was on three different occasions referred to as Carolyn. Typo I assume? After the whole weird incident we never get anymore info on Carrie’s family and what they actually believed to be true. Ohh and Tom being arrested dragged on and on, but again no real insight about what was happening with that. Snipits...like forgotten and moving onto next drama. And if you think you are going to learn what happens with good ole Tom by end of series you totally DON’T!

So we briefly meet Krystina, Aidens friend. For why? She is never mentioned again after one scene. We learn Aiden has a play room of sorts. But Ellie is never made aware of it. We also briefly meet Aiden’s ex wife. But again brief drama stirred and she is gone. So much of this series was misleading for readers.

Ok so book 4 & 5 are horrible...the latter especially. And folks this where I really really start book hating, so beware!
Ellie is pregnant, of course she is (sarcasm) and it is now January. She finds out she is 7 weeks along. But the next day she is telling Aidens mom she is 12 weeks along and get this, less than two weeks later she 19 weeks. And
ohh my goodness suddenly she 27 weeks and several weeks later full term and giving birth. Oh my god I couldn’t handle this on top of all the other crap jammed in.

Aiden is shot. Where was he shot who knows? All we know is he is in a medically induced coma so his body can heal. We learn he has brain trauma and then later are lead to believe he suffered a severe blow to the head from Blake? But he was shot right? Cuz who knows later in book that isn’t mentioned. Just that he suffered head injury when attacked by Blake.

Aiden is in coma when his parents arrive. You know the ones he hasn’t spoken to in ten plus years and hates. His mom is initially nice and then turns into major bitch. And help me understand how this mother who has no money is able to have Aiden moved from NYC hospital to Boston? Within a few hours? So I am not an American or a doctor and even I know this is so past reality, cuz it’s just not possible especially without lots and lots of money people! Mom was poor, she had no money and would not be able to legally make this happen. For one, America’s health care is not free and super expensive.

Aiden wakes up in Boston and it just gets more and more ridiculous.
It’s been 8 days since he was in coma. But Ellie has gone from 7 weeks pregnant to 12 to 19. And get this upon his awaking does he ever have words with his mother about moving him to Boston or being a bitch to Ellie and the things he heard her say while in coma, nope nope and friggin nope. But he does want to get the sexy times rolling with Ellie. Within minutes of waking from a coma? Seriously, c’mon authors be real please! Ohh but less than 24 hours from waking he is planning a quick elaborate wedding at the hospital to happen within a few hours. So how was he able to get all that done in few hours and have her parents arrive to Boston from Connecticut...I was really really rolling my eyes more and more in this stupid book.

Ellie is arrested before wedding for killing Blake in self defence. OMG more useless drama and eye rolling. Again I am not American, but I am pretty freakin sure a supposed crime that happened in New York would not lead to an arrest and being tried in Boston. By the way, it was deemed self defence based on evidence and recording provided in the state of New York. This whole stupid part of the story was just wrong, wrong, wrong! But wait Tom’s incident keeps vaguely being brought up but we still don’t know what’s happening...oh but that’s right we never find out! And don’t get me started on her lawyers and their unrealistic view of her being found guilty because a jury would judge her for writing “porn” puuulease! This whole thing was stupid and just plain over kill. Much like everything else.

Ok so wedding number 2 and yes people we are still in Boston and Ellie is very pregnant...gag, it all sucked! But yeh they finally have an unrealistic wedding. And how is Aiden still devoting working for his company from there to turn things around? Oh gosh who knows! And u got it, we never find out! But we soon learn he, Ellie and son happily yacht off at end off book not knowing when they will return.

Something else I would like to mention before I am just done with all of this is, Ellie being a writer. Writing a novel quite quickly I might add and quite quickly being able to release. I got the sense the author was trying to enlighten her readers about the process and how they self publish and earn money which was cool. I can’t say I enjoyed all the repetitive information about it thru out the series. But again, I am not an author so I really didn’t know how they go about this and it was enlightening. But keeping with inconsistencies. Ellie self published one book in series. But then it became books she has written...ugh! Ohh and who leaked to the press that she wrote Auctioned Off under a fake name and that it was based on how she actually met Aiden? Hahaha you guessed it...we never found out, even tho Aiden wasn’t going to not stop until he found out. But again another useless drama thrown in without any follow up.

So hey this is just my honest opinion about the series. There is more I could bring up but I just have to stop as it has eaten up a lot of my time. Perhaps if the author was to rewrite this series with more consistent time lines and correct information throughout, more realistic events and complete follow thru of all the drama she set the stage for, it may have been a better read...cuz the premise of a decent story was definitely there. But let’s just face it no woman flies thru full term pregnancy as quickly as Ellie did!

Warning. Spoilers ahead!

Rarely do I leave a written review on books. I just can never put my thoughts into a quick overview. I know what I’m reading is fiction, but I found myself annoyed with this book. I want books to have some research done when being written, because you still need some truth in fiction.

Soooo....here we go. As a reader I don’t appreciate the little digs that were made about people being willing to spend money on coffee but expect books for free or 99 cents. Hold. The. Phone. Sister. I just paid somewhere in the $24 range to read all 5 books in this series. Not once did I complain, contact you for a free book, or bitch because they were over 99 cents. So way to insult your readers. PS I don’t spend $5 on coffee, so I guess I just blew that stereotype all to hell.

Why was Ellie arrested and put through the legal system in Boston? The assault and resulting death happened in NYC. This makes zero sense. Some research should have been done here. It makes the story not flow if you have an understanding of the legal system.

Why wasn’t the recording she made ever spoken of or used by her attorneys in her self defense?! And why did she make the recording when she should have been dialing 911?

I enjoyed (and overlooked some small things) in the first 4 books, but the 5th book just killed the entire series and how it ended.

Overall this wasn't a bad read. I will admit that Ellie and Aiden's story could have been summed up sooner. Way too much drama. I hated his mother and how she was towards Ellie. The good news is that after everything is all said and done they do finally get their HEA.

Too millennial-ish for me

Half way through the book the main character turns into a millennial. She contradicts herself over and over and then starts introducing gender pronouns. Know your audience. I wasted $30 on this series. I won’t buy another one of this authors books. I wanted to read fiction.

So tired of being lectured by authors. I got to 35% in and then finally got fed up after reading the little lecture about gender. Deleted it straight away. This reader reads romance for romance reasons...not social justice reasons. Others may feel differently and that's fine. Turned me off on the author and I doubt I'll read anymore books by this author.

I do not fully understand how a crime that occurred in Nee York is going to be prosecuted in Boston. Also, I thought they were going to testify against Tom on Caroline’s behave. Nothing happened with that.

Other than those 2 things I thought it was a good series. I enjoyed.

Aiden is hanging on by a thread – in a coma, all because of Blake. Ellie’s distraught and goes home to gather some things, and what happens? Blake. he’s there and he’s got an agenda.

We were left at yet another insane point in the story where we know that Blake’s the cause of everyone’s problems (even though several books before Aiden was convinced that it was all Ellie).

She has to fight for her life since that’s what’s needed to make sure Aiden has a life to come back to. She proves to be just as strong as we knew and that means that we’re seeing Blake’s demise. He broke into her place and attacked her, so this is a cut and dry situation right? We hope so.

The story from here out is a more gentle roller coaster in bits than we’ve seen in the past. What happens though is that we watch Aiden’s parents come and take control of things even though they don’t have a good relationship and they have all these ill sensations towards Ellie. The result is that Aiden is moved to Boston, they won’t give information to Ellie, and so on a scavenger hunt we go.

The remainder of this story takes us to Boston. Watching there be little to no change in Aiden’s case, and the toll that it takes on Ellie. She’s pregnant, sick with those hormones and sick from what’s going on in life. Her sister Brie proves to be a rock for her and that’s something that we would not have expected in previous bits of the story. The distraction that Brie gives us, watching as she discovers who her true self is, well that’s not only really appreciated in the story, but appreciated given the context if current 2021 society.

We have another engagement, a wedding, a realization of what’s true, and an arrest. we were moments away from a happy ending, Aiden is awake, alive and bringing all of the dreams that ellie never knew she had to life. Steps away from the altar and things come crashing down.

The roller coaster takes a sharp turn because from here out we see Ellie fighting for her freedom. There’s evidence that leads the DA to believe Blake’s death was premeditated and that Ellie is behind it all. She’s got lawyers who don’t believe her, her reputation and profession working against her. The start of her. relationship with aiden that makes it hard to empathize with her, and all this added to the fact that there’s nothing that Aiden can do….it’s just a sad sad way to end this series.

All the highest highs don’t prepare us for the path that we go on, and we’ve prepared for the lows throughout knowing that everyone us up against a huge obstacle. Families are brought together to be torn apart. Friendships and relationships are put through trials, and we can only know for sure that if our characters stay true to themselves, then there’s hope that even if things don’t pan out as they want, they can live with the outcomes. I’m sad to see how this series ends, but a lot was crammed into this fifth and final book – leaving me looking for something new to read. So…enjoy the world of Aiden and Ellie and we shall see what’s next….

Once again, TITILLATION so MASTERFULLY woven, no reader can resist its pull. A MUST-BUY!
“BLACK LIMIT” is the final novel in author Charlotte Byrd’s EPIC “BLACK” series, and be assured dear readers, the best was saved for last! Like all of the novels in this series, Byrd’s writing in “BLACK LIMIT” is masterful! While I normally walk away from anything ending with a cliff, Charlotte Byrd’s characters are too rich, the storylines are too compelling, and the prose is too eloquent; for this reader to disregard. Consistently, I pick up the mouse and click on the next Charlotte Byrd masterpiece. I do this because Byrd is one of those rare authors who has the skill to feed just enough detail to her readers to keep them on the proverbial, “edge of their seats,” with only a few moments to take a deep breath, until the next predicament hits. I’ve not found that ability frequently, so I long for each new title from authors who have demonstrated such a cherished ability. For romance readers who have not been following Byrd’s “BLACK” series, one can start right here, but don’t be surprised if a compulsion to read the first four novels and the prequel novella results! This series is amazingly entertaining and totally captivating, the truest definition of a MUST-BUY, and in this humble reader’s opinion, “BLACK LIMIT” is the best of the series. The plotline is fast-paced, leans a bit dark and decadent. However, the story of this romance and deepening love which provide the foundation for the strong relationship between Ellie and Mr. Black is too delicious to ignore. Even in its completion, this reader wants MORE! While I volunteered to read “BLACK LIMIT” and post an honest review, this reader/reviewer has placed each title in the “BLACK” series in the FAVORITES section of my Kindle to be read again and again. I STRONGLY suggest you purchase your copy of “BLACK LIMIT” today! Happy pages! 😉

This is the final book of the five book Black Edge Series. You really NEED to start from book one (buy them all) and read right through book 5 so the cliff hangers won't get to you. The hardest part for me was waiting for each subsequent book to come out so I could pick right up where the previous book left off to find out what was going to happen to Ellie and Aiden. This unlikely couple (a CEO and a struggling writer) give us everything you could ask for in a super hot series! HOT, HOT, steam up your Kindle sex, chemistry beyond compare, drama, and yes a sit on the edge of your seat STORY! Recurring characters give you all you need in the areas of those you love to love and love to hate, and reasons to cheer out loud, laugh, cry and wish you were there to sometimes shake some sense into people who are about to make decisions that were clearly not well thought out...but isn't that how things are in real life too? Charlotte Byrd has outdone herself with this series and the only bad thing I can say about this book is it's the last one. You won't be sorry you picked it up, just don't forget your fan (or your man), a super cool drink and a quiet place to read without interruption! Oh yeah, one more thing, no spoilers here, you need to read this to find out if Ellie and Aiden get the HEA they've been working toward for so long!

This is one of the hardest books I’ve ever had to read through not only is the spacing on every single page so vast I feel like they wanted to get five books out, but really could’ve comfortably put it all into a two book pair.
In the book describes the exact same thing happening over and over and over and over and over and over again it hurt my eyes.
It’s like they had to hit a certain amount of words in each book. A lot of the story was unnecessary to get the exact same point across they weren’t adding any new information.

I did enjoy the part of the story where she went back to see her friend’s grave and it started to rain and the thunder. I enjoyed that aspect of the book but other than that, I could’ve gone without this one.

Then like in most novels, so I’m not just harping on this author, everything finishes in the last chapter or two when it should be a slow burn to the end in my opinion, especially whenever there’s so much happening you wouldn’t know that she wouldn’t be in court unless you read this paragraph.

I’m really impressed though. I didn’t see many spelling errors in this. I think I only saw one in this entire series.
Unfortunately, I don’t see me picking up another one of her books, but I’m happy that I read this series to know what I do not like and as soon as I see spacing on a page as much as this one or categorize it into the children’s section.

Good read just a few questions unanswered PLEASE DON'T READ THIS IF YOU DO NOT WANT A SPOILER LIKE I GOT

The first few books as I've said we're to similar to the other series, however knowing the fate of some of the main characters was gutting and but I carried on, book 4/5 were a much better read and more explanation and much much better to actually fall in love with the characters, so yes much better yes a couple of times I couldn't stop even at 3am, loved the twists and the bigger twists however I do feel like the story isn't finished!! Maybe like other authors we could have a smaller one for the issues that were left???

What happened with the main Tom court case?
What happens with her sister?
What happened with Tom's fience and her parents??
How does he run his business on the boat?
What about her real father he wasn't included in the wedding?
What happened with the letter?
What happened with his parents and himself?
Why did she never discover the room in his house or deacover the lady he was with in the house?

As I said so many questions left unanswered I just want to know what's happened with everybody that story wasn't finished??!!
Please let there be one last book so everybody can know the answers?

I’m going to be real here

Okay fellow readers, I’m going to be real here and tell you why I’ve given what is probably only my second “less than 5 star review” for Book 5 of Charlotte Byrd’s Black Edge series. Honestly I enjoyed reading the series as a whole. And, it wasn’t that Book 5 was any less than the four previous installments. My reason was very simple - I was done. It seemed to me that Ms. Byrd said to herself after about Book Two, “How can I extend this series into 3 more books?” I felt she could have easily finished up all the parts that came to light in two books. What happened in 3, 4, and 5 could have easily been included in the first two. I found it extremely difficult to maintain a sense of curiosity and interest, basically. For me, the sex is a large part of why I read Erotic Romance and even that did not keep me with the story!! It was good, mind you. But nothing was enough to make me want to read the series in its entirety. (Just in case you were wondering - when I gave previous books 5 stars it is because they absolutely earned it as well!)

Black Limit (Black Edge Book 5)

No way was I disappointed the way the story ended. Aiden was broken in the hospital in a coma. The doctor's put him in a coma to heal his brain. The whole time he was under, he could hear people talking. Oh course he didn't know where Ellie was, didn't know what happened to Blake. Ellie killed Blake in self defense. Came to her apartment with the intention of killing her. He was insane and angry about what happened with his job and that she fell in love with Aiden. Queen's mother arrives from Boston and decided to move him to Boston not trusting the care he was getting in New York City. Ellie has to find out where he is and has to drive to Boston. During their wedding at the hospital, police show up and arrest Ellie for Blake's murder. At this point of the story I am not telling you anymore. This story was truly awesome to read and the author did amazing job telling you the story, every twisted thing she wrote about was absolutely brilliant. So with that said I hope you'll enjoy reading it too!!! ENJOY!!

What did I just read???

I don't even know where to start. I never leave bad reviews. If I don't like a book I just walk away. These books are beyond horrible. They drag on forever, extremely repetive and the timing of things do not line up. The MMC is just immature and split personality. The FMC is a horrible friend and completely selfish. I mean her best friend's life completely changes and she runs off with her boyfriend that just broke up with her? That makes perfect sense. The author goes into excruciating detail about kindle unlimited works and how little an author gets paid. Lastly, the straw the broke the camels back, heads up it is a spoiler, the FMC decides she wants to go the easy way to have the baby and decides to have a c-section. I have had 2 c-sections and there is nothing easy about having one. The recovery is much longer. They way she described how it's no big deal to have one made me sick to my stomach. Best advice I can give anyone? Find a different series. This one isn't worth it.

I liked the series, on the whole. The story drew me in and I enjoyed the characters. What I did find disappointing were the inconsistencies in the storyline and how some things were just skimmed over in the book or ignored completely- such as what happened to Tom after he was charged with rape. Then there were inconsistencies in the details about Ellie’s little sister. Also, the fact that Ellie was arrested in Boston for a crime in NY just doesn’t make sense. She was told, at first, that there would be no charges against her bc she had a recording of what happened then all of a sudden she’s charged with murder when this guy BROKE INTO HER APARTMENT! He admitted it on the recording and yet her story was doubted and was potentially pre meditated murder. I’m glad, in the end, that all worked out and I loved the twists and turns throughout the series but this last book seemed to be rushed and not well thought out. In that way it was a disappointing end to a good series.

Black Limit (Black Edge Book 5) by Charlotte Byrd
I hate that this story has ended, even with a happily ever after ending. I guess after five books of ups and downs for Aiden and Ellie, and even with all the twists and turns I am going to miss them but I can’t wait to reread their story. I have to say this is one of my favorite series and Charlotte Bryd outdid herself with bringing Aiden and Ellie to life. There is so much excitement going on that I’m glad I got the chance to read all the books in order. I found myself lost in their story. Once you start one book you can’t put it down and then once you finish you can’ wait to start the next one. I would highly recommend all five of these books because you will want to reread them again and again. I received an ARC and have voluntarily left a review. This is my honest opinion.

In the fifth and final book of the series it seems as if Aiden and Elle cannot catch a break. It is bad enough that Aiden is in the hospital in an induced coma but his nasty mother arrives and seemingly takes over with little regard for Elle and tells her to go home. When Elle returns the next day, against doctor advisement, she learns that Aiden has been removed from the hospital and transferred elsewhere. Will she be able to find him? And who can forget the surprise that was awaiting Elle when she arrived home? I’ll let you read it for yourself. This is one well written, action packed tale that puts a reader through his/her paces. I look forward to reading what Ms. Byrd has coming next!
I volunteered to read an advance copy.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Wow, what a way to end the series and go out with a bang. Aiden and Ellie have been through so much to get where they are now only to have a twist of fate and Ellie be taken away from him before their special day. Aiden loves her and will do everything to find her. Nothing and no one will keep him away from her. Will he find her in time or will it be too late? These two deserve the HEA they've worked so hard for, the question is, will they get it? Such a great series, it's a must read. This book, is deliciously sexy, hot, steamy and you will not be able to put it down.

💖💖💖💖💖

This series is definatly in the number one spot on my kindle bookshelf of favorites. Gonna be hard to read another book / series of books that can beat this one off the top. My gosh! This series has sent me on a roller-coaster of emotions and then some. But the author here has the ability to arouse, astound and take you into a world away from your own. I tell you that there has been no better love story I have ever read that even comes close😍
This is the last in the 5 book series and it is dramatic to say the least. Even i could not tell whether their story would have a happily ever after..... Until near the end. Whoa, what a read 💖💖💖💖💖

So, so

What can I say? I was hooked. I enjoyed the story line. 50 shades but different.
Black Limit is the last in the series and all I kept thinking while reading it was, is it almost over?? Perhaps the writer felt that way too?
From proposals to almost a wedding to his horrendous mother. I stayed with it because I just wanted to have an ending. But it wasn't for love of this book.
Sex when your 7 months pregnant is hard enough and I just couldn't wrap my brain around how elastic Ellie must be? Like....some positions do not work when you have a big ol baby belly!
This book was ok. I was disappointed in where the storyline went and today I'm still feeling like that.

This is b.s.

I got through almost 50% of the book when this author included all of her political wokeness into the story. I will never read this author again. Talking about I know it's called a gender reveal party but really you are finding out the sex. The gender is a social construct or some such crap, and they may be born a girl and later they may decide they are a boy. People can't possibly believe that many people in the world have this happen. Do you realize the small percent of people this happens to? You as an author are an idiot for allowing this kind of political b.s. into your books. You have FOREVER lost a reader.

This last book of the series is the pièce de résistance. It brings the struggles, the obstacles, and most importantly, the love of Ellie and Aiden to a pinnacle then to my satisfaction. I was mesmerized at how much these two could keep coming up against and work thru it even when evil people had more resources and even when it seemed the odds were heavily staked against.
Kudos to the fabulous author Charlotte Byrd for writing this outstanding Series. I highly recommend it for your reading pleasure and enjoyment.

This fifth book is totally awesome. Ellie and Aiden are still reeling from the last book and cannot get a break. I thought the first four books were really great, but this one is the best one yet. I fell in love with Ellie and Aiden at the beginning of the series and adore them at the end of the series. Charlotte Byrd you are absolutely a beautiful and artistic writer with the way you weaves in , out and around the story. You put everything you have into the books. I adore your writing.

I received this book for an honest review. What a fantastic, amazing emotional ending to the Black Edge Series. This book was sensual, dark and captivating from beginning to end. This story will have you on edge as Aiden and Ellie are faced once again with the struggles and obstacles that threaten their love. Will this couple finally get their HEA that they deserve? This is a must read. What a great series, you will find yourself wanting to read this series all over again. Bravo Charlotte!!! I am a fan forever.

Provided with a free ARC for an honest review. Very enjoyable book even though I haven't read the first four books in this series. I found Ellie and Aiden to be very interesting characters who overcome attacks by the same man on both of them. Aiden is in a coma and Ellie succeeds in killing her attacker. Throw in a domineering mother, a surprise pregnancy, and murder charges, and that makes for quite a bit of turmoil. I'm left wishing I had read the entire series first. But then maybe I will! A good read and recommended.
