A country boy looking to win his best friend’s heart. A waitress afraid of giving hers away. And one crazy, impromptu dating plan that’s about to change everything.

Ex-model Livy Hensley has exactly three talents: making coffee, landing herself in the most awkward moments known to man, and failing miserably at relationships. But when the sweetest southern boy on the planet offers to be your dating coach, who could say no? Between struggling to open a café and trying to atone for a consequence of her past, Livy can use all the help she can get. Besides, what could possibly go wrong on a few practice dates with your best friend?

Chase Thompson’s no stranger to hard work. If that’s what it takes to prove to Livy they should be together, then he’s all in. He can handle pretending he’s not hopelessly in love with her. Sort of. Almost.
Okay, nowhere close. But with a conflicting solution to his family’s greatest trial on the line, the stakes of keeping his dating coach plan from backfiring have never been higher.

Up against the countdown of choices, Chase and Livy must find the courage to risk what they fear most for the someday they’ve always hoped for.

Chase has been in love with Livy from the first moment he met her. But the timing for telling her has never been right. For now, he's content being her best friend... being there for her whenever she needs him... being her sounding board... being her safe place. But he's getting tired of seeing how crushed Livy gets when her latest love interest constantly makes and breaks plans with her. Chase is determined to show her that she can do better than a guy who's just stringing her along.

Livy believes that she's a walking disaster when it comes to men. She never knows what to say or how to act. She's the queen of awkward ramblings and embarrassing situations. She'd do anything for normal. So when Chase suggests becoming her dating coach, she takes him up on his offer. He is, after all, the only guys she feels like she can be herself around. With his help maybe one day she'll have the confidence in herself that he has in her.

But the more time they spend together, the harder it is for Chase to hide his feelings for her. She's not ready to hear how he feels about her. He just needs a little more time to show her how much she means to him and how he'd do anything for her.

With the help of Livy's friends, her eyes are opened to how she really feels about Chase and how he really feels about her... and that scares her. Her past isn't the prettiest. He has dreams of what his future holds and who will be in it. Dreams that she knows she can't be part of because of the secrets she's hiding.

Will the fear of her past and fear of rejection hold her back from having a future with Chase? Or will Chase's unconditional love prove to Livy that her past doesn't matter to him? Going through everything she has, has molded her into the person she is today and that's who Chase fell in love with. If anyone deserves a happily ever after, it's Livy. And he won't stop until makes her believe that it's true.

*dreamy sigh*

What can I say about Livy and Chase? I absolutely adored these two! Their lives were going in all kinds of crazy directions and the only constant in it were each other. The road to their HEA was definitely a bumpy one but I enjoyed their journey! They not only learned things as a couple, but as individuals as well. They had to learn that what's meant to be, will always be. It doesn't matter how much you fight against it or force it to happen before it's supposed to, it will all happen at the right time and at the right place. <3

This has been such a fun series! I absolutely loved it! If you haven't read the Home in You series by Ms. Walton then you are definitely missing out! I highly recommend it! She is an amazing author! It's no wonder she's a favorite of mine!

And of course I cannot forget my casting. I absolutely love these two! What do you think?!

Friends-to-lovers is always a favorite story line, especially when the characters are as scrumptious as sweet tea--and Chase and Livy are. Livy has an embarrassing quirk of seeing how far she can stick her foot in her mouth, but her heart is gold and her intentions are good. I couldn't believe how much I laughed at her expense, especially with her animal encounters. Chase is as true-blue loyal as they come and his family values seals the deal. I don't know how Livy could withstand his country charms, because I, for one, was completely smitten.

Pasts and secrets can be messy, but nothing that a little time and love can't cure. I loved that these characters had challenges to overcome, yet the solid simplicity of friendship and the smoldering tension of unrecognized feelings helped conquer these issues. I couldn't get enough of the swoon!

The messages of being worth something and aligning priorities really illuminated the story, and evoke such heartwarming feelings. I've loved this series and this one just might be my favorite so far.

Content: mild, swoony romance (kissing, past intimacies and resulting consequences, some harassment); very mild religious elements

I love this series by Crystal Walton and I was so happy to hold the newest book in my hands. Her books are so easy to settle in with and the characters are always flawed, imperfect and completely endearing. I am always drawn in from the very beginning.

This story had an excellent build up of emotions and chemistry. I love, love, loved Chase. He was so fantastically persistent in his desire for Livy to see her worth, value and his love for her. I loved how hard he tried to convey those things to her with everything he said and did. How could I not love Chase?!

There were plenty of real life messes and heartache surrounding both Livy and Chase, pulling them in different directions. They are struggles almost all readers will be able to relate to in some way or another. Oh, and I loved getting small glimpses of previous characters in this book. It really helps to give this book and this series a feeling of community and home.

If you haven't ever read any of Crystal Walton's books, you really need to! Especially if you love clean romance. This book is a steal of a deal right now at just $.99 and it's also on Kindle Unlimited! You don't have to read this series in order, but you might be just a touch happier if you do. :)

Content: kissing, implied past intimate relations that led to pregnancy, a scene of sexual harassment, Christian faith elements (talk of faith and depending on God but nothing preachy)

- I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Crystal’s comeback win! After waiting over a year for this story (girl has had a busy year becoming a new momma!), I was ecstatic to receive my advance copy. I’ve been a fan for several years and have loved each book in this series so much.

While Ti is still my favorite of her heroines, Livy is pretty great in her own right. But Chase? New favorite hero right there. He is unfailingly patient with Livy and never wavers in his commitment to being there for her as a friend, though he clearly wants more.

This is definitely a story that goes beyond a simple friends-to-more romance. It’s a story of choices, sacrifices, and how far two people are willing to go to make up for mistakes. But thank heaven for grace, which is ultimately what this story is about; best friends who readily extend grace to one another but must accept it themselves first if there is ever a hope for the future.

Chasing Someday is funny, sweet, poignant, and packed with chemistry. I enjoyed it so much, especially Livy’s awkward klutziness and all of the interrupted “moments” between her and Chase! Eek!

Dating can be difficult if you’re the kind of person who can’t seem to keep the date interested in you, enough to have a date. “Livy just wanted a date, and instead, she got another rejection. No wonder her confidence hung by a thread.” So, her best friend, Chase decides to help, by offering, “A little coaching. A few practice dates.” That’s where all the fun begins!
This story is full of fun, crazy moments. I laughed out loud many times while reading it. The many “dates” Chase and Livy had, were priceless. I truly enjoyed the banter between these two. However, underlining all their talks and times together were deep issues of longing for acceptance, love, belonging, and grace. They were best friends, yet they each had something they were keeping as a secret.
This story brings to light some real heart-tugging issues of self-worth and making right choices.
Crystal Walton truly has a way of bringing emotions and feelings into her writing. You'll ache, laugh, cry, smile, snort and do happy dances all while enjoying a fantastic story!
You may even want to drink coffee!
I highly recommend you put this book up and read it. You might also want to read all the other books in this Home In You Series. You’ll get a chance to meet many of the characters in this story.

So sweet! And deep. And just enjoyable.

Ok, so I knew all along that Chase & Livy would end up together. But I loved every twist and turn along the way. Walton’s characters are lovable, real, and beautifully flawed. I think this was my favorite Crystal Walton book yet. Highly recommend!

Oh, sweet heavens have mercy! I’m a goner. Totally and completely smitten. Chase Thompson is a strong contender for book boyfriend of the year. Decade. Century. Whatever. If I had been the main character in this book, there wouldn’t have been a book, because my heart was a puddle at Chase’s feet from page one. Having said that, I also don’t have the kind of emotional baggage Livy needs to process, and putting aside one rather epic book-boyfriend crush for a moment, there is such a lot of heart to this story. And humour. Oh, my goodness. Livy! A little bit hapless, a lot bit sweet, and just the kind of friend I’d love to have in my life—every awkward, rambling, animal-challenged inch of her!

I’ve been a fan of Crystal Walton’s writing from the first book of hers I picked up. Her characters may as well be four-dimensional they’re so realistic, and the dialogue is always lively, witty, and heartfelt. But as much as I’ve loved her previous stories, this one has outdone them in my opinion. Best friends to more has always been one of my favourite tropes and this book reminded me of all the reasons why. You already have that incredible foundation of friendship that has the potential to become so much sweeter, and when that involves Chase… well, ‘nuff said.

But even more than all this (yes, there’s more!) Crystal Walton’s characters are always on a meaningful personal journey, and Livy and Chase not only need to consider some life-changing career choices, but work through emotional issues involving dementia and adoption. And learn about accepting grace and letting others share your burdens. I’m not sure what more you could possibly want in a story. Unless it’s a mischievous dog called Bandit. In which case that’s another tick for this book!

This is a sweet, sweet read, friends. Don’t miss it!

I received a copy of this novel from the author. This has not influenced the content of my review, which is my honest and unbiased opinion.

This is another perfect book about imperfect people. I love this series and this book did not disappoint. It may even be one of my favourites this year so far. Chase and Livy are best friends who are meant for each other - they just both need to realise that too. I loved Livy’s accident prone awkwardness and Chase was a perfect foil to her disorganised life. There are dramas with family, dogs and cars. As well as plenty of romantic tension. Plenty!
I would really love this series to just keep going......

As a girl who fell in love with a country boy myself, I have to say it defiantly tugged at my heart strings. Chase is so tenderhearted and protective, just like every southern boy should be. He wrestles with his own emotions and faith in the midst of different trials, which is something that we ALL can relate too. I love how much he cares for her and yet holds on to the hope that she will one day feel the same. Livy is beautifully broken. She battles the mistakes of her past and they cripple her in a way that is also very relatable. She is reaching for the greatness that is possible in all of us, but struggles to take that leap of faith. I think that the best friends to lovers story line is always emotional, but Crystal does a wonderful job of creating a balanced story of true love and rejection. This is a great next chapter in the Home in You series!!! You do NOT want to skip this one. I read it in ONE day!!!!

I received an ARC of this book from the author but was under no obligation to post a review. All opinions are my own.

Crystal Walton has become one of my favorite contemporary inspirational romance authors! Her writing is witty, the couples have chemistry, and the books are filled with original and honorable characters who overcome troubling pasts.

This friends-to-lovers romance will have you rooting for Chase - the virtuous, self-sacrificial, charming, and exceedingly patient Southern boy - to convince Livy they belong together, come what may.

Subplots and minor characters all serve a purpose and are woven neatly into the story - including a meddlesome dog with a penchant for poorly-timed interruptions.

I'm sorry to see this series end.

“But then I see you. All the noise shuts down. I hear your voice, and...” “I can finally breathe again.” Who wouldn’t want someone to say this to them! Chasing Someday is a Contemporary Inspirational Friend-Lovers Romance. It is a brilliantly written poignant story of the choices and sacrifices people make when looking for acceptance and love and the role of Grace in their HAE. Follow Livy and Chase as they pretend date their way to their own forever after. I highly recommend Chasing Someday.

Have you ever heard someone say that a book gave them “all the feels”? Well, Chasing Someday, the fourth and final book in Crystal Walton’s Home in You Series, is one of those “all the feels” books. I laughed (out loud, choke on my food kind of laughing), I teared up, I got mad, I swooned/melted/had to fan myself, I stressed/worried, I sighed with happiness. Just about did it all with this book.

But, y’all, I gotta be honest and say I had a little bit of a love-hate relationship with the characters in this book for a period of time. One minute I was Team Chase, the next I was Team Livy, and the one after that I was Team I Want to Strangle Them Both. They both had a few moments where I was about ready to throttle them. I would have been fully prepared to shake some sense into them had I been allowed to be a supporting character in the book. Might as well have been for all the talking I did to them as they did all the things that drove me crazy.

I don’t how many times there were “almost” moments in the book—almost kisses (those were pretty swoon worthy), almost telling each other how they felt, almost sharing their pasts. But. They. Just. Kept. Getting. Interrupted. It landed just shy of the borderline of too many things left unsaid too many times for me. Thankfully, the ending fully made up for it.

And have you ever seen the movie Meet the Fockers? Or heard of Murphy’s Law—Everything that can go wrong, will go wrong? This book had it’s fair share of those moments, too. I kept thinking over and over how I just wanted something to go right for them. Movies and books where things just continually go wrong, especially when the characters are trying so hard for things NOT to go wrong, whew! They’re rough on me. I reached a point where I flat out didn’t know how much more I could take. Until. Until I got to the end and realized that the frenzied, frantic pace of Livy’s life and mind, of everything that could go wrong, going wrong painted perfectly the picture of what it is to be spinning our wheels in an attempt to earn grace. And after the war I’d been through with the characters, the peace found at the ending was so much more real, with so much more depth to it because of what I had to go through to get there. So, I have to say, “Well played, Ms. Walton, well played!” 🙂

In the end, after it was all said and done, I realized Chase just might be my favorite Home In You hero. He’s so steadfast, sweet, and encouraging to Livy, not just accepting her for who she is, but loving her for it. And Livy, well, she might just be my favorite Home In You heroine. She’s so funny, adorable, and endearing with her hilarious quirks. If a situation has the potential to turn awkard, with Livy involved, you can be guaranteed it will! If it has the potential to for all the crazy to happen in it, with Livy involved, you can be guaranteed it will! And it all kept me laughing throughout the book.

One thing (among many) that I appreciate about Ms. Walton’s books is that there’s always more to it than the romance. There’s going to be some serious soul searching, some serious “a-ha!” moments, and some serious character growth. With Chasing Someday, one of the things that really stuck out to me was just how often shame keeps us from divulging the secrets we so desperately need to share so they don’t hold us captive anymore, so that the chains can begin to be loosed, so the healing process can start. And just how often we look at others and think they have the perfect life or that they have it all together and then look at our own and think about all the wrong we’ve done and how terribly others would think of us if they knew. Thankfully, Ms. Walton takes us beyond that to show us the arms of grace waiting for us.

So, I would say, get a copy of this book, pull up a comfy chair with a cup of masterfully made coffee or a cold glass of southern sweet tea, and get ready for one heck of an emotional roller coaster ride that ends with one amazingly heart melting ending. 🙂 (Word of warning—you might want to be careful when you take a drink, or it might just come spewing out on a laugh!)

This story packs lots of emotion and captured my heart right from the start. I couldn’t put it down, because I felt invested in the lives of the characters. I just had to know what would happen next.

Livy and Chase are friends, best-friends if you were to ask Livy. Livy sees Chase as her rock, a solid presence, and a stable person that she can depend on. But she’s holding back her deepest secret for fear of what Chase would say. Will Livy find the courage to trust Chase with her past and allow a deeper relationship to grow?

Chase is such a patient, hunky-hero. From the moment he first met Livy he fell in love, yet found himself firmly in the “friend-zone”. In an effort to get closer to Livy, Chase suggests taking Livy on “practice dates”. Chase’s cowboy charm and gentle perseverance are sure to win hearts!

This book could easily be read as a stand-alone, however, I’m sure you won’t want to miss out on the other delightful stories in this series.

Chasing Someday (2018) by Crystal Walton is the fourth book in her Home in You series. This book comes in all forms including eBook, and is 336 pages in length. With a full-time job and a busy six-year old, this book took me three days to read. I purchased a copy of this book from Amazon on October 7, 2018 to read and review. In no way has this influenced my opinion of the story. All opinions expressed in this review are my own. I give Chasing Someday 4.5 STARS. This book is a Contemporary Clean Romance.

The best part of this novel is Chase Thompson. He is such a good man. He’s exceptionally loyal to his family, and bends over backwards to take care of his mother and sick father. He has a really good relationship with his sister, Quinn, good-natured ribbing and all. I also love how Chase sees the best in people. He sees their potential even when they don’t see it themselves. I love how his faith in others is seemingly boundless. What a wonderful friend Chase would be! Which leads me to Livy. Chase is SUCH a good best friend to Livy, and he treats her as a man should treat a woman — like she is precious. Chase worries about Livy’s safety, emotional well-being, and heart. He truly wants only the best for her. While I appreciated all of these aspects to Chase’s personality, my most favorite thing about Chase is that once he realizes an error he’s made, he does whatever he can to fix his mistake. He is not opposed to being shown how he’s made a mistake. It’s refreshing to see a male character who can handle constructive criticism with grace instead of stubborn blindness. I really love Chase. He alone is reason enough to read this sweet novel.

I also appreciate the lesson on faith that Chasing Someday discusses. In a world where society is so ever-changing and inconstant, where faith is viewed as hardly anything anymore, it’s lovely to read a novel that shows faith so positively. To have faith in ourselves, our family, our futures, and God’s grace is pivotal. It’s good and healthy to be strong in who we are, our morals and values, and Who we believe in. We must trust the path that God puts us on. If God places us somewhere surrounded by a particular group of people, or puts us in the path of certain opportunities, we must have faith He’ll see us through. The discussion of faith in this novel reminded me of Jeremiah 29:11: “I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” God has faith in us to accomplish His good plans, we need to have faith in ourselves, too!

Chasing Someday by Crystal Walton is a highly engaging story that captured my interest straight away. With captivating characters who stole my heart immediately, and very timely messages, Chasing Someday is definitely a novel worth reading. If you are in the mood for a well-written, sweet Contemporary Romance then this is the book for you!

A country boy looking to win his best friend's heart.

If you read Just Maybe, you may remember that Quinn is rather obsessed with grammar. Her brother, Chase, the hero in this book, is a riot as he antagonizes her by intentionally mispronouncing words and using clichés incorrectly. Talk about knowing how to push someone’s buttons!

So Chase is a type of endearing hero who drives me crazy. He is the best friend who would do anything for Livy. Always putting her needs above his own. He is protective and strong and able to fix things. He says the sweetest and most swoony things! Yet he is so afraid of exposing his heart; fearful that he will lose Livy if he does.

Livy has some secrets and honestly doesn’t feel that she is worth the kind of guy Chase tells her she deserves. She volunteers to try to atone for a choice she made that causes her great guilt. She is afraid to dream. She was so funny, too, when she got nervous and would just say whatever came to mind. And then continued to talk in an attempt to fix what she said only to make things even worse!

I enjoyed this tender romance. The “practice” dates that Chase took Livy on were sweet and humorous. Challenges of dealing with aging parents, insecure teens and a dead-end job added to the interest of the story. And I love/hated the way that the author would hint at something terrible happening at the end of a chapter and then abruptly switch the point of view in the next chapter and make me wait, impatiently, to find out what happened!

Chase...what can I say...he is so sweet, patient, and charming! *Ahhhh* What girl wouldn't enjoy being around him?! He has loved Livy ever since he met her, but has always been in put in the "friend zone".
Livy is a bit of a different story. She feels like she isn't worthy of someone as great and dependable as Chase due to past choices she has made in her life. She always pushes Chase away if he hints at anything more than friendship because she is afraid of losing the one stable male relationship that she has ever had. Being friends is safe to her.
When Chase recommends he be her dating coach, feelings start to soar for both of them. Will Livy ever be able to forgive herself for her past choices and see that she IS good enough, strong enough, and lovable enough for Chase?
I really loved the parallel of Chase's unconditional love for Livy just like God's unconditional love for all of us. None of us are perfect, yet God loves us despite all of our faults, just as Chase loved Livy.
I received an ARC of this book from the author but was under no obligation to post a review. All opinions are my own.

I love this author's books! Every time I read her books, I feel like I have learned from the characters. When I finish reading the books, I feel uplifted and strengthen somehow. Liv is an amazingly compassionate person who has made some mistakes in her life. Her inability to forgive herself for these mistakes is keeping her from seeing her value. Chase is fiercely loyal to those he loves. He tries to take care of those around him but he is overwhelmed and struggling with what he needs to do. These books takes the reader through the Chase and Liv's lives as they grow and learn what their roles are in their lives and the lives of those around them. It is also a beautiful love story. I highly recommend this book!

“Chasing Someday” by Crystal Walton is a nice continuation of the Home in You series. Watching Livy and Chase navigate their friendship, avoid the past, and hide their feelings is a comfortable read. Livy reminded me of Christina Coryell’s character Camdyn Taylor with her inclination to get into clumsy situations with their funny outcomes. We all know someone like that in our lives! Chase reminded me of the good ol’ boy friend, who is dependable and nice to look at. Having Quinn and Cooper from “Just Maybe” and Ti and Drew from “Begin Again” also show up was a nice extension of their stories, giving us just a small glimpse of what’s happening in their lives. I really enjoyed reading this story and look forward to seeing what’s to come!

What a fun addition to the Home in You series by Crystal Walton! The main characters are realistic and endearing, and yes, broken and hurting, and it was such fun to see characters from the previous stories popping into some of the scenes. I absolutely adored Chase. He was such a swoon-worthy hero—so patient and caring with Livy. It was such a joy to see them grow and progress in their lives and their relationship with each other. The sweet message of forgiveness of self and accepting faults in yourself and others gave this book an added dimension. I’m looking forward to more books by this author.

Tender and touching are two words I'd use to describe Chasing Someday! Hunky cowboy Chase is a wonderful male protagonist who has loved Livy since the day he first laid eyes on her. Ten years have passed and lots has happened in both of their lives. Everyone in town seems to realize that Chase and Livy love each other. Chase knows he loves her but Livy has made mistakes and doesn't feel worthy of any man's love. Chase and Livy both learn to have faith in different situations in their lives. I recommend Chasing Someday to anyone who enjoys romance! I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.

Aspiring coffee-shop owner Livy keeps failing at relationships, so her best friend Chase offers to help her "practice date." She's the last one to see where this is going, choosing instead to focus on the famous local-boy-made-good who shows up when he feels like it, stands her up more often, and generally treats her badly. Chase is tired of being in the "friend zone" and wants to find a way to pursue his dream to restore classic cars so he can help support his aging dad -- and that's not something he can do locally. Mix in an aptly-named dog named Bandit for some comic relief and you get a really good story.

This was another great Crystal Walton story. It has all the characteristics that I love most about her books. Characters you can relate to, real situations that have drama, the emotional ups and downs, as well as the laugh out loud moments. I will say, there were times I wanted to knock some sense in to Livy, but that is what makes it such a great story. She isn't perfect, and she needs help to see what is right in front of her. She is a flawed person just like we all are. The love story is sweet and I am glad that Livy get's her moment to shine in this book.

A gentle, feel-good, romance that touches the heart, Chasing Someday is funny, sad and hopeful. Livy carries the weight of the past on her shoulders and it takes Chase's unconditional friendship to breach her reserves. Not believing herself worthy of love, Livy both longs for and fears getting close to anyone. The story is well-written, clean and carries a message that we all need to hear at some time in our lives. Although the book is part of a series, it is nevertheless a standalone. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Part of this story, is the devastating effects of Alzheimer's disease on a family. To watch a loved one become an unknown identity before your eyes, is heartbreaking.
That, and the mistrust that some women have, after previously being misled by male partners. To trust again is so very difficult, when doing so can again destroy their family, work and self identities.
Then you have the love of one that is able to put his trust in the time to come, that the one he has loved since first meeting him, will love him in return.
Yes, another really good read!
