Nicholas Spencer has a weakness for redheads. Older redheads, to be precise. Ever since the day he first laid eyes on his high school music teacher. He’s been chasing after redheads and bedding them ever since. Then one day gorgeous blonde Fiona Ward tricks him into chasing after her . Itching for a new sexy look, she dons a red wig and heads out. When she catches the virtuoso’s lustful gaze, she has no idea it’s because of her “red hair.” She believes it’s mutual attraction. She has no idea what she’s getting herself into, and either does he.
Leslie is a California native but recently moved to Arizona after a stint in Arkansas. She enjoys travel and being with her grandchildren.
She is an avid reader of many genres, but prefers romances with travel or thriller themes. She loves writing about strong women and strong men because the world needs both!
When Fiona, an almost 30-year-old museum curator sees a hot young classical violinist, Nicholas, she's enthralled. Her date and friend, Zach, is less than thrilled that the musician is staring at Fiona, but she's thrilled. Nicholas has a thing for older redheaded women and Fiona fits that to a t. She's not that much older, 7 years, but old enough to draw Nicholas, and he decides he will have her. Unfortunately for him, she's not a real redhead, and they have a less than positive connection that will cause Fiona to keep Nicholas at arms length until he can get over that connection.
Of course, keeping him at arm's length doesn't mean no contact at all, it just means no steaming up the sheets, and soon the chase is on, with Nicholas aggressively (too aggressively for my tastes) pursuing her. But, will Fiona be able to keep her heart intact or will the younger man decimate it with his obsession with their unfortunate connection?
I was disappointed in The Musician. I couldn't see the connection between Nicholas and Fiona and where it even came from. Whatever they felt for each other was tenuous at best, with lust being the driving factor. Nicholas' obsession with the person who connected them was an obstacle he didn't get past until the very end, and it meant his relationship with Fiona got the short end of the stick. I did like Fiona, though, and felt she could have done much better than a younger man who was obsessed with someone else, someone she had every reason to hate.

“The Musician” by Leslie Johnson is a terrific book. From the very first page I was caught up in the love story of Fiona and Nicholas. I literally stayed up all night reading this book. You get terrific suspense and sizzling hot romance all in one book. This book is a younger man older woman romance but you really couldn’t tell that in that both characters fit so well together. Each and every part of this book had such incredible details. Leslie brought these characters to life in such an amazing and sexy way. I can’t begin to describe how much I loved this book. The depth of each character was terrific and so well developed. This author makes the good characters great and the wicked characters terrifically evil. This is a must read book. I did not put it down until I read the very last sentence. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Can’t wait until Leslie Johnson’s next book comes out!
We first met Nicholas in Resisting Him. He was the young student infatuated with Charlotte, his music teacher. Now 23 and a famous violinist, his obsession is clearly worse. Only bedding redheads and calling them Charlotte. Fiona works in a museum and has focused on her career. At 30 years old, she doesn't have much of a life outside of work. When a friend and colleague, Zach, asks her to see a concert for her birthday, she decides to go all out. She wears a little black dress and a red wig. The attraction to Nicholas apparent as soon as he walks on stage. I love Leslie Johnson's writing. The Musician is a sweet romance and I very much enjoyed Nicholas and Fiona's HEA.
The third book in this series is about Fiona and Nicholas. She works in a museum and he is a great violinist for his age. She just turn thirty and he is twenty-three. But the chemistry between them is off the charts. Well it will be. First he has to get rid of his red headed affliction. Oh not a disease. But his need to seduce just red headed females. They both have a connection between them from their past. Won't share to much here. But once everything is cleared up the music is off the charts.
Interesting view of a concert violinist; hew information for this reader. The story was good and flowed well. There was great romance, drama, angst and unfortunately for the main female character who had to deal with a stalker. The characterizations of all involved were very well done and believable.
A very entertaining read.

A lot of students have dreamed about their teachers. He has still five years after leaving school a lot of thoughts and dreams about her. But one night all that changes. A well written story with nice story line and plot. I like the epilogue and prologue twist. I like this story is written in dual POV which gives the reader more of the feelings and thoughts of the main characters. It makes the story more whole and real. Absolutely worth the read and recommendable to others.
Talk about obsessions. This man has it bad, but really don’t understand the whys until it’s mentioned. These two struggle to begin their relationship, but the chemistry is astounding and their love grows quickly. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more.

I don't know what it was about this book, but I just had a hard time reading it. I had to set it down a few times before I could completely finish it. Normally this isn't an issue for me. But I will continue to read Ms Johnson's books as I enjoy her writing and she writes good books.

I absolutely loved this book. What a great love story with just the right amount of sensual scenes and interesting twists. Leslie Johnson really brought these characters to life and kept those “aha” moments hidden until the perfect moment. This book had my interest from the first page and kept it until the last. A great read with a wonderful HEA ending.
