I really enjoyed this book, it was a cute small town love affair. We meet Angie who has been in love with Logan since she was a little girl only problem is Logan doesn't even know that she exist. Angie has decided that she is finally going to grab some guts and go after him except that everytime that she is near him she is tongue tied. Logan notices the hot waitress that he sees everyday that he goes into the diner and they start flirting with each other, his ex girlfriend who has come back to town encourages him to give her a try and the low life that he works with black mails him to find out who killed Angie's father and help him get Logan's dad's job or he will reveal that his dad had covered up something that Logan had did years ago ruining not only Logan's life but his dad also. He decides to go out with Angie and can't believe that he never noticed her, and starts falling in love with her but now he has guilt because he never told her what he was really doing even though that all changed as he got to know her. I seriously enjoyed it, my only issue was that I wished we had Logan going off on that horrible girl Tiffany, I wish I would have seen that. Hopefully we get more of this crowd, maybe Myra? or Audrey-loved her..Enjoy!

Original Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace

I picked up this one after reading the description, and I was really excited to try Season Vining's writing. I can say that I was pleasantly surprised by this book and I know that I will try more of her work in the future. I liked the way she built the world, and that the characters had secrets that they needed to face so that they could move forward.

Angela was a sweet girl, who was working to get herself through school. I liked that she was driven and had goals, however she lacked confidence and was kind of invisible in high school. With a gentle push from her friend, she finally flirted with her high school crush, and he finally saw her.

Logan was under pressure and to pursue a career as a detective, he needed to solve a cold case. He didn't expect develop feelings for the quiet little art nerd, who was close to his case. I liked they way he would come into the diner to eat and visit Angela.

It was sweet seeing Angela and Logan's relationship grow. Despite Logan's reputation, he tried very hard to woo Angela. They had more in common than either of them realised. There were a few characters that were introduced that I'd like to see more of, so I'd like to come back to this world again!

This book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Entangled: Embrace!

Fearless & Falling
is a New Adult Romance about Angela and Logan.

I’ve never heard of this author before I got an email from Entangled Publishing, but I know that I like and even love almost every Entangled book I’ve read so far so I had to read this book. The synopsis sounded really promising, and I really liked the cover.

Fearless & Falling was an amazing NA Romance about a girl who’s been in love with a guy for almost her entire life and I really liked the story and the characters. I really loved Angela because she’s so sweet and sexy, and I also liked that Logan became a different person because of her.

Fearless & Falling wasn’t just a Romance story because it also deals with death and guilt, not liking your job, … I love it when authors make Romance stories more real by adding these ‘real-life struggles’. Fearless & Falling was such a good book, fast paced and well written! I cannot wait to read Chaos & Control!

Fearless and Falling by Season Vining a five-star read that will catch you. This one has all the feels, its such a compelling story, it starts a little slow but by the half way point you will be so hooked you can’t put it down. It will have you clutching your heart and running out for pink star-bursts and wine!! Logan Sawyer is loved by all and will no doubt be loved by every reader who comes across him, but as we read the story, we see him develop as a character and shows us the layers that run deep within him, it just makes you love him harder. Angela Lavelle was a great woman, her passion for art and the story she hides will blow you away. This story has so many under currents that will keep you hooked, this is more than just a romance.

I expected much more than this.
It was hard not to skip half of the book at one point. In fact, at 85% of it I just got right away to the last page.
So, what's wrong with this book you would ask me. Well, I would answer you that I'm thinking that it's probably me the problem, because those past weeks I read lots of books and most of them were hard to finish. Maybe it's not just me but the genre I'm reading, or maybe it's the books. Anyway, this read started good, I was interested in this dorky and shy character, Angela Lavelle. I was interesting on getting to know her and her crush since 3rd grade on the local playboy and deputy sheriff Logan Sawyer, until everything went to the toilet, meaning that they went out to a date and they just started seeing each other.
I don't know why, but from then on everything was just so... predictable and boring and everything like tons and tons of other books I've read in my short life. It was the same over and over again and that's why I was thinking that maybe it's me and not this book. Maybe it's time to try to read other types of books because it seems like I got over this one.
But thinking about this story though, I can also say that it lacks of depth and of twists and turns, which are essential to make a story interesting until the end. People read romance because of the drama first of all. Drama means something always happens and here barely something happened and then nothing else. It was pretty uneventful. Everything was smooth, predictable and boring.

description

Fearless and Falling is a character driven story set in small town America. It is refreshing for the main characters to be regular, everyday people. There are no billionaires, no destitute but ravishing beauties; just a regular waitress and a sheriff’s deputy.

Fearless and Falling is set in the same world as this author’s previous book: Chaos and Control, and the two stories run concurrently. It was lovely to touch base again with Wren and Preston, and we got to see another side of Wren which was interesting to see unfold.

I love Season Vining’s writing, her lyrical style absorbs the reader and keeps you turning the pages. Although Fearless and Falling was not as emotionally intense as Chaos and Control, it was an addictive read and I enjoyed every page.

This book is a standalone and it’s not necessary to have read Chaos and Control to understand or enjoy this story, if you have, it’s just an element that will add another depth to the story.
I’d recommend Fearless and Falling to anyone who enjoys a character driven story, and like me, finds it refreshing to read about ‘normal’ people, giving the billionaires a well-deserved break.

Angela saw that Logan was pulling up in his Crowley’s Sheriff's Department cruiser. She was at work at Millie’s diner. She was so attracted to Logan. Logan told her he was a judge at the beauty pageant and Old Man Jennings had offered him twenty dollars to make sure his granddaughter was a finalist in the pageant. They continued talking about that for awhile. Than he gave Angela the look that dropped girls panties all over the county. Angela works at Millie’s Diner with her good friend Audrey. Than Lizzie came in the diner and said Wren Hart was back. Wren was Logan’s ex girlfriend and the love of his life. Wren had left four years ago and she broke Logan’s heart. Angela’s art is the only thing in her life that makes her feel whole. Wren is in the diner and at Angela’s table. When Angela was in H S deep in her infatuation with Logan, Logan was in love with Wren. She was his universe. Angela tried to keep the ridiculous hostility toward Wren in check. She didn’t accuse Wren of breaking Logan, of turning him into the non-committal player he was now. Angel didn’t mention that how Logan changed since Wren had left. When Angela goes to give Wren her food she was sitting with Preston who no one ever sat with. Angela told Audrey she wanted the whole fairy tale. She wanted to be swept off her feet by a man who wants to know everything about her, who isn’t scared to deal with her mother-Jean-, who seen the real her and wants it all. Audrey told her if that’s what she wants she had to put on her big girl panties and finally land Logan. Angela got a text from her mother and she was going to her house after work. Jean hadn’t left the house since her father-Nick- death. Angela made sure she had everything she needed. But Angela does have her own place about three miles down the road from her mother. Angela hasn’t really recovered from her father’s death either . how do you get over losing your best friend at seventeen? Angela met Danny her first semester at college and he was nice. Their relationship started as a friendship. But through all the trauma, and grief, and even her relationship Logan was always present. He’d been the center of Angela’s universe since was eight years old and nothing could change that. Logan feels like his life has been mapped out by everyone else. Logan had been researching what it takes to be a detective. It would mean he’d have to leave Crowley at least for work. It would also mean more schooling and working his butt off to prove he was more than a sheriff’s kid looking for a free ride. Logan looks up to his dad but he doesn’t want his life. Than another officer comes in- Smith who knew Logan had been arrested when he was young and his father made the arrest disappear for Logan. If Logan doesn’t help Smith up seat his father and take over his desk job Smith will let everyone know about the arrest. It would ruin his father’s reputation and the town really loved his dad and Logan would never be allowed to work in law enforcement. Smith wanted to solve Angela’s father’s murder/death. Smith told Logan to use Angela to get an in with her and her mother to interview them and find out everything he can and give the information to Smith. Angela is starting her first evening of summer semester. Three years of night classes are wearing on Angela. Angela considers being an artist her destiny. Art was in her blood. Her father had been a painter . he’d draw pictures for ehr and hid them around the house. Her mother never understood their love of art. Angela wanted to teach art to elementary school kids. Angela tells Audrey she is going after Logan. Although she didn’t know where to start. Angela had no game. Than Logan asks Angela out and she feels like her dreams may be coming true. Things seem to be going good and Angela and Logan sleep together. All of Logan’s friends accept Angela but Tiffany who seems to be bitter that she never had her chance with Logan. One Sunday Logan is feeling a lot of guilt about Angela and ends up getting drunk with his friends. He calls Angela and asks her to meet them at the Haystack bar. Than they decide to go put to the lake, while there Tiffany viciously lets Angela know Logan asked her out to get close so he can find out any information she or her mother know about her father's case. Angela call Logan a liar and goes back home in Tiffany’s car. Angela goes to Andreys to spend the night. Angela told Audrey she may know something about her father’s case. Audrey said if she can’t tell her than Audrey would call the sheriff and she could talk to him. Angela said she had been thinking about this for four years but how many people’s lives did she have to ruin to give herself peace? When Angel took her mother the stuff from her shopping list the next day she tells Angela Wren had been attacked and Preston had saved her. Angela couldn't even find joy in painting right now.
A great read. I didn’t want to put this down. I loved Logan and Angela together and how they interacted. I loved the intrigue, suspense, romance and everything else in this book. I loved Audrey she made me chuckle. I loved the Jean finally left her house and was getting some help. I loved how Logan came clean with Angela and was determined to get a second chance no matter how long he had to wait. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

After experiencing a previous book by this author I couldn't pass up the chance to get this one.

Her characters have layers of real life weaved in with the romance.
Angela was endearing with a strength and loving soul. She has loved Logan for a very long time and managed to finally catch his attention.
I got that warm and fuzzy feeling to see how much Angela affected him and the changes that this causes.
There is a great story line to follow with great details that bring the book to life.
I try not to share to much otherwise it ruins it for the readers. Let's just say this is one of those authors who I have on a watch list. The books are well written with characters that have a lot to offer.
I can definitely recommend this book.

What a fun read. Angela and Audrey's conversations - omg are hilarious! Everyone needs an Audrey in their life. Logan was swoon worthy and add his dorkiness to it makes him a great character. Angela and Logan's references to pop culture were an added plus. The reason it wasn't a five star is the fact that I felt there were some holes. Tiffany and Scott's parts in the book kind of dropped out of sight after their drama. The big murder mystery seemed to be a major lead up and then it was just solved along with her mother's issues.

Fearless and Falling by Season Vining was my first read by this author and I enjoyed reading it. It was a charming small-town romance with a bit of mystery added to it as well. Angela has had feelings for Logan for a long time, but he’s never noticed her, until now. All of a sudden, he is seeing what has been in front of him this entire time.

Angela was the shy girl that preferred to stay in the background. Logan has always been popular and well liked. Angela finally decides to take a chance and go after Logan, while something pushes Logan to notice Angela. Will they be able to see what they could have or are the secrets they are keeping tear them apart?

Happy reading.

Fearless and Falling by Season Vining is a sweet NA Romance that had lots of entertaining moments; there were also some spots that lagged and dragged, but overall this was a nice and quick read with the right amount of heat and sexiness that will take a reader outside of their own problems for a bit.

A story about finding your true north. Angela fell in love with Logan when she was in the third grade but never thought she would get the opportunity to be with him. He was the jock, popular and loved by all, while she was the invisible dorky kid. Living in a small town they could not avoid seeing each other and her feelings never quite went away.

Circumstances surrounding Angela’s father’s death push Logan into her orbit. As they spend time together they realize that more lies beneath the surface than they each thought of the other.

The author takes us on an introspective journey of learning to reach deep. To trust your instincts. To lean on your friends and family. The story has multiple layers of lessons in friendships, love, family and community. It is an uplifting story with a happy ending.

A small town romance. The towns popular guy finally noticing the shy quiet girl. Will the be able to make it work? Or will secrets get in their way?

Angie is a shy art loving girl. She works as a waitress. She’s also been in Luke since she was a little girl. But has always been to shy to act on those feelings. But now she’s decided that enough is enough and she will finally get the courage to woman up and face those feelings.

Luke is a sheriffs deputy. Once the popular football star in high school. He’s never noticed Angie before. But that’s all about to change. He’s been blackmailed to find out who is the killer of Angie’s father.

Will he be able to do it? Does Angie know more than what’s she told?

This story has all the feels that will keep you hooked until the end. It had me swooning and laughing. Then having the mystery of Angie’s dads murder it had me more hooked. Now to go buy some pink starbursts.

3.5⭐

This was a story that I was looking forward to reading. By an author that is new to me. But I have to say I struggled at times with it. Don't get me wrong the writing style was good, and it was funny, sweet and for the most part engaging. It's just the story as a whole didn't really grab me and I found it quite slow paced. And honestly not enough happened throughout to really grab my attention. But the characters were likable and it certainly was easy to read. And I'm sure fans of the author will find it to be a very engaging and enjoyable read.

Logan Sawyer has been the boy her hearts craved since the day they first met, but her heart seemed to be on a solo mission. Growing up he was the popular boy in school that all the girls wanted, and she was sort of the geeky girl no one really paid attention too. But Angela LaVelle has grown up a lot since then, and she has every intention of finally catching the attention of the boy next door!

From start to finish, Fearless and Falling kept me captivated! It's sweet and mildly suspenseful story line was engaging, and the characters were superbly crafted. I really enjoyed this first time read, I found many things to smile about, and swoon over between it's pages! Highly recommend.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the author in exchange for an honest review.

Fearless and Falling was my first book by author Season Vining. It tells the story of Angela, a girl who has been head over heels for Logan Sawyer, the town heartthrob, who doesn’t know she exists. The book was sweet and well written and I enjoyed the authors writing style.
However, I felt like it was missing something.

I didn’t really love any of the main characters and truthfully I didn’t like Logan very much at all. I felt that the book didn’t really give us a chance to see why Angela fell so hard for him as a kid. So for me, he just seemed like a hot guy but there wasn’t much else. I also felt like I was told rather than shown how he felt about Angela.

Another issue I had with this was there were many different plot points that were brought up that felt like they didn’t really lead anywhere. For instance, Angela’s mother's condition felt unnecessary and it didn’t really advance the story. Same with her thinking she saw someone in her yard. Another plot point that didn’t feel necessary was the Logan/Wren history. It was brought up like it was going to be an issue but then it never went anywhere.

I also didn’t feel like the reader was given anything to understand why Angela was so invisible in high school. Nothing about her screamed I have no friends but that was her story and I think it would have been beneficial had the story provided us with more from her childhood and what made her invisible and what made her develop feelings for Logan.

Overall, I liked this story but I couldn’t bring myself to love it. It was well written, but it also felt somewhat forgettable. I’d give it 3 stars.

i read the first book in this series and really liked it, so i figured i'd read book two, fearless and falling. and it was perfectly fine. it's just that the set up for this book is that the main character, angela louise has been in love with the hero, logan sawyer forever. and then he gets blackmailed into paying attention to her in order to solve her father's possible murder. and like, that's all fine.

it's just that the level of pining that angela has for logan is extreme. like in a weird she flies off the handle and tries to hook up with her ex in order to not feel bad about herself because logan's ex just came back into town. that whole moment, is like, crazy. stable people don't react that way.

and maybe that's just it. angela isn't stable. and logan does actually fall for her once he starts to get to really know her. and, of course, the blackmail held over his head is going to play into everything. but i don't know. i just didn't connect with these characters, which is a bummer. because i really loved wren and preston from the first book.

**fearless and falling will publish on march 18, 2019. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (embrace) in exchange for my honest opinion.

It's nice to know Logan isn't as stupid as he looks and knows when his woman is mad, "...Logan’s full of laughs until he sees my face. His eyes dart to Tiffany and Myra and back to me, and after a few seconds he must put two and two together..." Logan is such a charmer, "his eyes travel over me slowly, and my cheeks start to burn. “When I’m around you, naked or otherwise, I’m in *** mode.” I liked this book, I loved Logan.

This love story is a slow burn between Angela and Logan. Angela Louise has been in love with Logan Sawyer since the third grade. She never enacted on her lifelong crush until the day before Wren Hart returns to town. Her small flirtations along with Wren's stamp of approval pushed Logan to ask Angela on a date. Angela is hiding something from everyone close to her even Logan. This secret can destroy many things in her life including the precarious emotional state of her grieving mother.

Logan can't believe that Angela has been right there the whole time. It didn't help that he also needs information from her about her father's unsolved death that he's been tasked with solving. Every time he has the opportunity to ask Angela about her father, he doesn't. He falls for her more and more every day. He's scared of what will happen if Angela finds out that he's investigating her father's death. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Nerds will love this.

I voluntarily received this from Netgalley for an honest review.

I’m in love with Angela and Logan. This author gave these two such a great back story. Considering they have been in each other’s lives forever, it’s great to see that it wasn’t love at first sight.....or even being able to stand one another. I also really like that Angela wasn’t alway such a beauty, but grew to be a swan.

This book also deals with grief and abuse....and dealing with ones feelings. Such a therapeutic way to help others deal with things. Friends always there to lend a hand.

I have to say this book has its share of villains. And the main characters showed way more restraint than 8nthought was h7manly possible considering all the crap go8ng 9n around them.

I would defineatly read more books by this author

I received an advanced reader's copy of Fearless and Falling by Season Vining from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I had never read anything by Season Vining before this, but I was very pleasantly surprised and pleased to find a new author to follow.

The good: I found the novel to be well written and the dialogue between the characters (primary characters as well as secondary) was entertaining. The plot was not new - the golden boy (popular kid) notices and goes for the geeky, unpopular girl after noticing that she grew up alright - but it was well written and the characters were relatable and likeable.

The bad: nothing really new/novel about the plot. The conflict is the mystery around the death of Angela's father, and even that was predictable.

Enjoyable ~ Character-Driven ~ Romantic

tl; dr: Popular guy in school goes for a college student who was once the band geek.

New adult can be a challenging genre for romance. There is always the challenge of how much sexy times to allow, and then the people have to be young but not teenaged. Vining does a great job hitting the sweet spot that is New Adult. There is sex but it fits within their relationship and it isn't all out there. Most importantly, the characters are well-drawn. Great NA romance, and wonderful for a first-time author.

Angela has had a crush on Logan since they were kids. She is determined to finally get him to notice her, but when he does is it for the right reasons?

This is a dual POV with just enough chapters from Logan's perspective to keep the story moving. I liked that the majority of the book is Angela's perspective as I felt it allows the reader to see her grow and come out of her shell a bit as she gains some inner strength.

I liked that there was a bit of a mystery/history woven in, but that the focus is really on Angela and Logan and their attraction to each other.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for an honest review.
