Boone Sawyer and his wife, Sharon, have always been Sarita Saint’s best friends. When a dying Sharon asked her best friend to marry her husband, Sarita agreed, never intending to keep her promise. But even from the grave, Sharon is having her say.
Sweet, reliable, patient Boone wants Sarita by his side; he’s always loved her—through every bad relationship she seems to dive into. Now he wants to take her away from the painful memories in Detroit to a beautiful horse ranch in Texas.
But love and marriage? Sarita just isn’t interested. She sees it as the perfect escape from all the failed relationships that haunt her. Together, they can raise each other’s children in a positive environment on the ranch and take over his family’s business, both things that Boone inherited.
GOOD LOVE is set in the ’90s—before the rise of the internet and social media, and when people memorized their friends’ phone numbers. Sarita and Boone embark on a new life, leaving the security of well-paying jobs to grow a thriving business to call their own. But will it lead to love?

"Good Love" by Cheryl Robinson
My Thoughts...
After reading this author's 'Until Ray Trilogy' which featured Sarita and Boone I was delighted to get some more inside information of these two characters which brought out quite a few things that had gone on in that story. I would highly suggest that one reads that trilogy for more understanding of 'Good Love.'
This was a interesting read in trying to find out what in the world will Sarita Saint do after she had promised her friend Sharon, 'her deceased best friend, that she would marry her husband, Boone and raise their children together.' However, will Sarita be willing to do this as she had promised her friend? I will say that Sarita got on my nerves as she seemed to have had problems deciding what was best her. Why in the world she couldn't see what was right in front of her and that Boone was a good man and a longtime friend.
I could see that Boone really did love Sarita and he would do anything for her. However, will moving to his ranch in Texas and venturing as a restaurateurs be a good move for Sarita and Boone? For the life of me I can't understand why Sarita doesn't seem to get it. I did like how this author brings in Miss King. Yes, Miss King really added quite a bite to this story and I did find some of the information she delivered was quite puzzling as you will see from the read. In the end the question will still be will Sarita and Boone 'develop a deeper bond' not only as in a common law marriage but by getting married and taking his name? The one thing that Boone wanted was to marry her and take care of her because he had been deeply in love with since Sarita was eighteen years old. Will these two be able to get to that 'Good Love that both with cherish for it?' Well, to find out more of how this will end you will have to pick up "Good Love" to see how this story will come out. It will indeed be quite a interesting story hat will keep your attention all the way to the end.
Remember that song by Anita Baker titled Good Love? One sentence in that song says “Morning, noon and night, forever all my life” that is what she was singing about having good love that last forever and stand the rest of time. Boone wanted that from Sarita but her heart was elsewhere.
Good love is different for everyone seeking love, is it the way he/she treats you? Or is it the way he/she moves or maybe it’s a longtime feeling. Boone cared for Sarita from afar and he finally has a life with her. Not the one or the way he expected but he will take it as he gets it for now. Part of their life is progressively moving while the other half requires much patience. Can they fill the void that stands between them? I’m not going to answer that in this review, read the book and find out.
Robinson writes from her heart and her characters are ones who draw you in. I absolutely enjoyed Ms. King and her comedic relief and especially her banter with Sarita and sometimes Boone.
If you are looking for a grown folk story sharing the heart of its. characters then this is the story for you.
A complimentary copy of this book was provided by the author my my honest and thoughtful review.
So what to say. I liked this book alot. But I'm still on the fence about Sarita. What do you do when your best friend dies and wants you to marry her husband. Umm you do of course. Boone, Sarita, Ray, and Sharon had a complicated friendship. Sharon dies and leaves behind Boone and her daughter Mercy. She wants Sarita to marry Boone but Sarita is still in live with Ray and Graham. Boone and Sarita relationship moved achingly slow. My issue was Sarita was she was so naive and gullible and she was pining for a man who did not love her. I wanted Boone to just say the hell with this and move on. He was patient and eventually after moving away opening up a new business. Their relationship evolved. I still don't believe she loves Boone. She just settled since Ray was gone.
