With 6 children and a husband didn't have a steady income, life was a constant struggle for Molly. Of all her children, Breda—the bright one—was closest to her heart, and the only one who stayed in Kilbally with her parents. Then tragedy struck, and Breda decided to make a new life for herself in Yorkshire. There she was to discover a totally different world from the one she had left behind, with new people and new challenges for the future.
I gave this book three stars because I liked the writing style. It was an OK read, but there were characters introduced that really didn't do much for the plot. Also things happen or are written in that seem like foreshadowing but nothing you think might be a plot turn ever happens. Nice story about an Irish family is all its really about.
I am enjoying each of Elvie's books more and more. This is my third one in a row and happily there are still more to enjoy. Delightful tale of a young woman growing up and finding her place in life.
This is sweet telling of Ireland and the struggles and pleasures of a loving family. Sometimes one just wants to feel as if the book you are reading is like slipping into a hot bubble bath on a rainy day with a hot cup of tea. This book is like that.
