Utah Fury Hockey #4

Attacking Zone

Rate this book
He's the captain of the Utah Fury. She's the number one fan of their rival team. Can these sworn enemies put hockey aside long enough to see they're perfect for each other?

Kendall Davis was born and raised a Baltimore Harbors’ fan and nothing, not even moving across the country to enemy territory is going to change that. She doesn’t care if she sticks out in Salt Lake where she’s attending grad school. All she wants is to graduate quickly and keep her secrets hidden before returning home to her military family. When the captain of the local hockey team comes into the cafe where she works, she takes the opportunity for a little payback.

Wyatt Hartman wasn’t looking for his life to change. He has enough weighing on his shoulders with the team without dealing with the drama of women. When a slightly crazy blonde threatens his anonymity and his favorite cafe he goes against his instinct to run. There’s something about her that keeps him coming back for more, but with each wall he breaks down, another one is built.

Can they win the fight to love the enemy, or are their differences too much to overcome?

Brittney has been an avid reader since she can remember. Her parents' form of punishment for her growing up was taking away her books and making her go outside to play. She was born and raised in Southern California, with a brief hiatus in Arizona. She loves the beach, exercising, sleeping in, and cookies. She is an obsessive dog lover, although her affection currently has no outlet. Something that she is planning on remedying soon. She and her husband currently reside in the Rocky Mountains exploring and hiking as much as possible.

Wyatt is the captain of the Utah Fury Hockey team. He has been with the team for ten years. He has been very regimented in how he calculates every moment of his day. From exercise, practice, diet, obligations for team functions, and his endorsements, and charities.

Wyatt’s anonymity has once again been compromised. So having, to move a few times, is not something that gives him, comfort. The new place, however, seems to be working for him. Since, Noah, another younger player, and his girlfriend live in the same apartment. The media has better fodder than him to go after. Giving him the freedom to run, get groceries, and get a coffee alone.

He can even sit at his favorite cafe, read a book with a coffee, and not be disturbed. Until her. Yup, don’t let her beauty full you. She is for a lack of a better word, psycho. She was new to his little coffee shop, and not only had she gotten his coffee wrong, but she also tampers with it. All over a call on the ice in Wyatt’s favor. Who does that? It's not until the night a snowstorm is rolling in and he sees her stranded on the curb. Wanting to help, he offers to help by lending his couch until the storm blows over.

She’s gone by the time he wakes up. He feels let down by her he thought through dinner they had bonded. Sharing about their childhoods, her love for hockey, and her masters. For a man who had never dated and never wanted to, this spunky feisty little thing was now always on his mind. Their push-me, pull-me encounters, were their foreplay if, you will. She comes in a Michigan Harbor sweatshirt as his guest and, Chloe being her crabapple self gave a sore welcome. But, this military kid, let her strut and then walked right past her and sat to watch.

It's not until one earth-shattering discovery turns into a life-or-death situation. That seals his heart for him. The stars align and just as he finds her uncle is calling. She is rushed to the hospital. He reaches out to his team's family and they are ALL there even Chloe. Ready and willing to support him and her in any way they can. Regardless, of their situation going forward.

Very good story seeing two people blossom, open their lives to one another, and confess their love. However, riding off to surgery is not my idea of, a happy ending. If you don't know how it turns out in surgery, or if their relationship stays together since, it was on again, off again.

Romance, clean; Series but stand-alone read
Cute, light romantic read, although dealing with some serious issues. Loved the H intensity with his game, Zoe's stubbornness with her home team fan issues, and of course their moments that they had as they worked their way from friendship to something better. Cute series, and this is another cute read in the series. I love genuine, honest characters that fall for each other. No machinations, no mess, just figuring out their perfect fit with each other. Fun seeing characters from the other novels/novellas.

Another great book in the series

Loved the story line and how each book in the series is so different from each other. Great to glimpse into the lives of each of the hokey players and to understand all that they sacrifice for their career but yet find love also. So in love with this writer. Really enjoy the way she brings the characters to life and draws you into their world. Outstanding series!

For half of the book, I was pissed and just about done but then things changed. Wyatt was such a good guy, I loved him, he deserved the world. And Kendall pissed me off so much with her pulling and pushing act, she never made an effort. But then she realized what she was doing and was the one that went after him more than once, just like he had for her. He was good to her, made less cynical, we could say and she made him realize that life is more than just your job

The Captain!

Wow! Hartman has been a Rockstar in the other books in this series! Always the voice of reason for the guys. Getting to see him struggle with fame and figuring out a relationship was hilarious when he's always been the one with all the answers! Kendall was a breath of fresh air and spunk with her pranks and always showing up in her Harbor merchandise! I can't wait to see were it all goes from here.

2.5

There was way to much push and pull from the h. I DNF at about 50% then ended up skim/reading the rest. I already guessed that the h had a major health condition hence her behavior toward the H. It just went on way to long and took up the majority of the book. I was expecting more cute rival stuff between them instead of a couple pages.

Wow! So Much Going On Here

Ok, no spoilers here. Let me just say I've had a best friend go through what Kendall did. I loved how she and Wyatt's enemies to friends relationship developed. I totally understood her not wanting to be a burden to anyone. I loved how the Pride women were there for her, and I loved the ending. Another sweet book by this author in this series.

Boring AF

It's not because it was a sweet romance, but this book was a snooze fest.
I couldn't for the love of God feel the connection between them... at one point I thought about DNFying it, but finished it because it was shorter than I am used to.
Safe to say it was the first and the last of the series I will read.

I love hockey romance, this author was new to me, but she didn't disappoint. I already love the characters she's starting to build the team family with, I can't wait to read more books in the series

Selfless love

Absolutely beautiful from start to finish. I loved the relationship between Wyatt and Kendall and how Wyatt showed Kendall selfless love by helping her get the transplant she needed.

Loved it

The story of Wyatt and Kendall was emotional. Both of them needed to overcome their pasts to have a future. What a great book.

A fun, clean romance with some grammatical/continuity errors. But overall, a fast and enjoyable read.

My favorite in the series thus far. Two determined and focused people that aren't looking for love but find it nonetheless.
