After months spent chasing down one haunted item after another, historian Victor Daniels is exhausted. His relentless battles with the sadistic Stefan Korzh have taken a heavy toll, and he longs to end their supernatural feud once and for all. But first, he must deal with one last cursed item released from Korzh’s collection.
With no time to rest or recover from their last paranormal encounter, Victor and his adopted son Tom travel to the shadowy streets of Groton, Massachusetts. There, they face a familiar enemy— a malevolent spirit Victor has fought before, and failed to defeat. This fiendish ghost haunts an antique baby’s rattle. Those who hear its chilling sound are faced with a ghastly death, and an afterlife of eternal suffering…
As they confront this vicious foe, Victor knows that Stefan still waits for him in the shadows. Their confrontation is inevitable. Everything has been leading Victor to this one final battle.
In the haunted depths of the Korzh’s ancestral home, Victor and Stefan must come face to face. And only one man will live to see the dawn.
Ron Ripley is a husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day. He grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed. Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones. Those things are just plain creepy to a kid.
Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.
I could have finished this in one sitting, but I needed to drag it out for as long as possible. I started my adventure with Ron Ripley with the Moving In series. Then I went over to Berkeley Street, and once that series was over I was convinced I would never love any of his characters more than I love Shane and Carl. I reluctantly began The Haunted Collection and I have become so attached the all of the characters in this series that I almost wept when I saw that we were at the very last book. Thank you Mr Ripley for writing stories that take me so far away that I become engrossed in these characters and I forget they are not real.
I have read this whole series in short of a week and a half Loved every one of them what a great find ❤❤❤ can't wait to try some of Mr. Ripleys other books ❤❤❤❤
Here we are at the end of an era, well it feels like that anyway!! The last few books of the series has been bringing us to this book and the tension is thick. I started this with trepidation because I really didn't want it to end, but also knowing it had to!! Well, it was one heck of a ride and no, I'm not going to summarise this because it is too easy to accidentally spoil something.
The last two books of this series had me breathless!! Each one was intense, fast paced and you could feel the tension in the air. Victor is not only dealing with stopping the haunted items, Korzh and such, but he also has Ariana, Tom, and other stuff looking for his attention. It's a wonder why he hasn't gone crazy from it all. Korzh meanwhile is getting crazier each book and is getting desperate. He is such an incredibly evil character and one that will stay with me for a long time. The fact that he doesn't care who he hurts made me loathe him. It's one thing I love about theses books... the fact that the author can make me feel so much for each character and make them so unforgettable
This one is no different. There is so much going on and each of the main characters have a lot to deal with. Plus there's not just one haunted item this time, but a few ghosts that the gang have already dealt with. They have to deal with this on top of having Korzh, Anne, and Leanne coming after them. There is so much I want to say but I can't!! You really have to read it to understand the sheer amount of things going on and how intense it was. I flew through it as I had to see who reached Stefan first!!
This author captured my attention right at the first book, and with each subsequent book I became more and more invested in the characters and the story. As we lost characters and gained some, it just made me love this series more. I was overjoyed to see Shane and am only hoping we see these characters again. This being the last in the series, I was expecting a lot from it, but thankfully the author delivered and I loved it.
In all, a fitting end for some of the characters!! I highly recommend this series and indeed this author.
Thom Bowers got better with each book, he added tones, voices and accents which brought the books alive. I'm looking forward to seeing what else he narrates from now on.
I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.
This book ends the awesome Haunted Collection series and I will definitely miss it. Victor, Tom and Shane finally bring an end to the ongoing horrors of Ivan's haunted collection in a climactic confrontation. I won't spoil it but suffice it to say that our heroes survive the encounters with only a bit of damage. This was actually the third in a trilogy of audio books. The narration by Thom Bowers is flawless as usual. He brings the characters to life and the only other audiobook series I can recall with such excellent narration is the Harry Potter series read by the very talented Jim Dale. One would think that nine books in a single series with similar plots would become tedious but this series is anything but. You care about the characters with all their warts and you hope they can defeat the ghosts without losing their lives. I would definitely recommend this excellent series of you like spooky tales.
This series has rocked my world! I have always been obsessed with anything paranormal or supernatural and this series has proven to be one of the best I have read. I find myself wondering what if I were to meet these characters? Tom is such a great person (with just enough darkness to even him out) and Victor, well he is just more than words can describe. If there really are things that go bump in the night, I would want to be able to call these individuals to come help. Now I must reflect before I can move on to a new book.
I loved how this book brought the series to a satisfying close and I especially enjoyed how Shane got back into the ghost hunting action again with Victor and Tom! Shane is my favorite character of all time and I am so pleased to see that there may be more books with him and Tom in the future. Please keep Shane’s story coming and of course his wonderful housemates Carl and the others.
Another excellent installment in the Haunted Collection series! Loved the brief appearance of a former character! The continued development of Victor and Tom's characters is very well done! Alas, I am sad for I fear that this was the end of this series, but do I detect a new series on the horizon involving Shane (my favorite by far), Victor and Tom??? I can only dream!!! Thank you, Ron Ripley, for another great series that keeps me reading and wanting more!!!
Excellent! Excellent! Wow, what a good story in the series. The gang ( Victor, Tom and Shane ) go after Stefan again and capture and put to rest the other main ghosts working with him! Loved the ending which does somewhat lead into Ron's next story. This review is from an AR copy that I have chosen to review.

This series has been amazing! This book was a definite page turner. I could not put it down. Hoping that Stefan would finally be killed and what would happen to Leanne and Ivan? What happens to Victor and Tom? All my questions were answered and so much more! This is the best book of the series!
Nothing better than catching up on some of my favorite ghost 👻 destroyers. I am happy that Shane, Tom, and Victor are finally living together. I hope we continue to get more stories now that the trio is all on one team. Are the 2 series going to merge now? I hope so.
Sadly this is book number 9 and the end of the series. It could be a stand alone but you would miss the ride through the series. It is the end of the search for Victor and Tom. I feel Mr Ripley left enough room for future books. Ron has a great series to keep you on the edge of your seat. The storyline is well described and believable with interesting along with some creepy characters. This book is so intense, fast paced, edge of seat, you will want to continue with the storyline. Stefan is now acting crazier, such an evil character. I actually started to hate him and want for his death. As this book gets scarier you start to worry about Tom, Victor and Shane. You start to wonder about shadows and objects in your house. You question do you really want or need that antique. Ron has done an amazing job making it scarier and creepier along with bringing you chills. Thom Bowers has really gotten into this series and he keeps you on the edge of your seat. He has so many voices and he just keeps getting better. This is a must read. I recommend this book/series. Enjoy!!
I think there has yet to be ONE Ron Ripley book that isn't a 5! But then again, I think I have a bit of a mad crush on Shane. Yes I know that might not be enough to encourage you to read this book, but understand that I have followed multiple story arcs to be surprised by his entrance.
A baby rattle brings death to fathers, and Victor and Tom are working to stop the ghost from killing any more men. Stefan is still out there, but Victor is quickly closing in -- if he can survive the double crossings that seem to be happening...
Great story! There was so much awesomeness in this one! I wasn't ready for the series to end.
So nice to have Shane back! I love any and all books out out by this author. The stories have kept me up at night and have made me smile. I have come to know some of these characters quite well and am enjoying every word!
Another winner! The Haunted Dead series has been very enjoyable! Has a little bit of everything that would appeal to not only horror enthusiasts but mystery/thriller readers as well!
I'm so glad to have finally finished this series. It started out great, then I just got tired of the story, they spent 8 books chasing the same bad guy. Sure there were other ghosts for distractions, but it just seemed way too long for my tastes.
Final showdown? Who will win? No spoilers here, read it for yourself 😲. Who will live and who will die? Ready sad to see the end of this series but like everything good has to come to an end eventually.
Each story although independent had the back story of the characters as to hold the readers interest throughout all the books. I loved the character development including the backstories of the haunted items. Thanks for a great series
So was this a good conclusion to the story yes! Could it have been better and felt more...I don't know satisfying? Definitely. But I did enjoy reading it.
