As the global war on terrorism rages on, the elite government agents of Shadow Cell hope they see an eventual break in the battle. Agent Adriana Villa and her boss, June Holiday, have lured in a mysterious defector who supplies them with the secret locations of a network of widely scattered hideouts and weapons caches of the deadly Red Ring, the most barbaric, most ruthless terrorist network in history. This highly classified information, however, quickly turns out to be just another ruse in the terrorists’ elaborate and deadly scheme to eliminate Shadow Cell and inflict mass casualties upon innocent civilian populations worldwide. As the two remaining Shadow Cell agents, Adriana and June are forced to turn to Interpol and other international law enforcement agencies for help as the clock ticks down on what they believe to be the Red Ring’s grand and savage scheme—mass murder and invasion on a near-biblical scale. USA Today best-selling author Ernest Dempsey once again keeps his foot on the proverbial gas as Shadow Cell races readers across a world in turmoil. A world quivering from a series of Red Ring attacks. A world teetering in the balance. A world that will never be safe if the terrorists eliminate Shadow Cell completely.
Ernest Dempsey is a huge fan of action/adventure thrillers and science fiction.
He has been creating stories since he was in high school but never published a book until 2010, long after the days of high school were gone.
His action & adventure books come from a lineage similar to Clive Cussler, Dan Brown, Steve Berry, and James Rollins. While his science fiction novels are full of influence from Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games, The Matrix movie, and Gladiator directed by Ridley Scott.
He is quickly becoming one of the hottest fiction authors in the book world.
I received a free advance ARC copy from the author for my honest review and I also purchased a copy from amazon.com. Something I like to do, to support the authors I read advances for and it makes easier to post reviews on amazon.com.
Another great read from Ernest Dempsey, like that it was another Adriana Vila story, really like this character a lot and also like that it was a shorter read, than his Sean Wyatt books. Be nice to see that series also have shorter novels.
You can't help, but like both Adriana and June, even if at times they seem to be, 10 feet tall and bullet proof, just seem to be invincible, deadly even, and unstoppable no matter what trouble they get into or find themselves in.
Just like James Patterson, Dempsey puts his lead characters into scenes were they should be killed, yet they survive or they miracously just have cuts, bruises, a broken elbow and a mild concussion.
It's the final countdown! The ultimate concluding battle between June & Adriana and Red Rising. No surprise that Dempsey takes over the top, you have a treacherous Teacher orchestrating a multi-layered attack on the infidels, he's desperate to eliminate Shadow Cell, and you need to read all three books too know who wins.
The Shadow Cell series has been a great offshoot from the Sean Wyatt series, featuring Sean and Tommy's girlfriends in a top secret anti-terrorist unit. They both have unique skills and bucketloads of courage and determination, and their characters are developed far more than in the Sean Wyatt books, especially June's, but we even learn a lot more about Adriana than was in the original series dedicated to her. The action is non-stop and very well written, nicely balancing a mixture of luck and skill. The girls manage to survive a lot of catastrophes caused by a terrorist leader known as 'The Teacher' and this culminates in an original and powerful climax. The future of Shadow Cell is rather left in the balance at the end, but I sincerely hope that there are more books in this series. I received an advance copy of the book but have voluntarily reviewed it.
Once again we meet up with June who works for Shadow Cell. She answers to a select few people who trust her and her team,to get the job done. Red Wing a terrorists organization , in which she brought in top guns to destroy their facilities. Adriana was in the car that was bombed heading to HQ she sees that building destroyed from another bomb. The old man who gave them the information on Red Wing, was too clean, the bombing was set to happen. June was away from HQ, others were in the building. The Teacher as he called, is celebrating thinking Shadow Cell was illuminated . June called in other agencies , and Interpol, they were determined to stop the terrorists. Good ending for the two women and whatever the next steps will be in their lives
Can Shadow Cell school the Teacher? Once again Mr. Dempsey has crafted a story based on two very strong, well developed female characters who are deeply involved in pursuing terrorists and The Teacher in particular. Shadow Hour is filled with action, intrigue, and double-cross, this book is very difficult to put down once you begin reading it. For fans of the Shadow Cell books, this is a must read. So as to not provide any spoilers, I’ll just say I was hooked from the opening action until the last page. I received an ARC and chose to provide this review.
Adriana Villa takes you on another wild ride chasing down terrorists and eliminating them without prejudice. We also see a softer side of her. Possibly hinting at a Sean Jr.? Ernest Dempsey never disappoints. Great characters and page turning excitement. I received this book as an advanced copy in return for an honest review.
Most entertaining, hard to put down, easy read. Would recommend reading. Very much liked the female characters, rather than male characters always being the hero's.
Easy read, very entertaining, would recommend reading. I enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to reading more of Dempsey's books. Have read many in the past
Shadow Hour is a terrific, fast paced suspense thriller from a very talented author. The Shadow Cell are closing in on the terrorist group the Red Ring and June and Adriana need to act fast and smart. This is a non stop action book that you will not be able to put down, I cannot recommend it highly enough. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Another awesome mystery full of twists and turns. Have read ALL of your books to date and cannot wait for the next one! Thank you for all the wonderful hours of reading enjoyment!
If you do not read these books you are really missing out! You will never regret it. Worth every hour.
Both Adriana and June have been some of my favorite characters in the IAA adventures of Sean and Tommy, so it was nice to spend some thrilling time with them. Now I'm going to read some more of Mr Dempsey's fine work, while I wait for the next Sean and Tommy episode.
I was disappointed with book 2 of this series; thinking you were down on America... you have redeemed yourself with this book. No terrorist should go unpunished: especially radical extremest - they hurt good Muslim folks too! Cannot wait to see what you write next, thank you for all the excitement and adventures!
Adrianna and June make a very good team as they hunt down the teacher. London, Sweden, Uzbekistan, Samarkand, just a little globe trotting to find the teacher and prevent any more harm to innocents. Great job. Lots of fast moving exciting moments and surprises. Thank you from Villa Rica GA.
Loved how these two women team up to fight the bad guys and keep the world safe. They know no fear and meet danger head on.
Really enjoy Ernest Dempsey's style of writing. Keeps you hooked from page 1 to the very end. Keep writing Ernest - would love to read more Adriana and June adventure stories.
Great thriller, as usual for Dempsey!!! June and Adrienne are working together against the Shadow Cell! So many unexpected twists, but an all-together outstanding thriller! Enjoyed this book almost as much as the Sean Wyatt books!
There was more tension and urgency in this book than the last book. This moved the story along at a perfect pace. The lead characters Adriana and June worked off each other without missing a beat.
Excellent story. I really enjoyed all three of the Shadow Cell Thrillers. I especially like how well each episode of the story flowed from one book to the next. These were very entertaining.
How do you survive a blown up, flipped on its top, covert vehicle? One has to ask Adriana! Then there's the explosion that levels headquarters and kills everyone inside!!! And that's not all.....!
I love Ernest Dempsey's Sean Wyatt so when this trilogy came out I just had to read it. Loved the action and drama, and the idea he made these two women the hero's was so exciting.
The story is straight out of today's headlines. A virus of unknown origin, frightening in the speed of transmission. But hope arises in an ancient remedy. Look forward to the next book!
I have enjoyed these, which comes as a surprise because I didn't really like the War of Thieves. There was no carryover of characters from the Sean Wyatt books. At least June is a familiar character and they work well together.
This was a very good action novel and mystery. I've enjoyed all of Ernest Dempsey's books. This completes all of them for me and I'm looking forward to him writing more!
As always no surprises but great story on these two! Enjoyed all his books waiting for more! Enjoyed his history and visiting new areas in the world I never knew about.
I really like the character of Adriana. First meet her in a Sean Wyatt book, then in her own books. Always a good plot, good character development, and lots of action. Plus anyone who restores stolen art has to be a good person. Recommended.
