Two years ago I read Jane Fallon’s My Sweet Revenge and I really liked it. You can read my review here. I loved how it was a perfect read for book clubs, because there was so many things people could discuss about, and I am happy to say that with Tell Me a Secret the case is the same.

This book would make a perfect book club pick. There are so many small details and clues readers could pick up, and also characters’ actions they could debate on.

What I liked the most about this novel were it’s characters. Almost all of them had strong personalities and they felt real.
I was always character driven reader, so it is really important for me to have opinions about characters, whether that be positive or negative opinions. There is nothing worse then flat heroes, and this book is full of impressive people.

The story follows Holly who just got a promotion in the company she works at. She is a screen writer, and now is in charge of others writers for the teen soap opera they work on.
After her promotion, strange things start to happen to her. Her scripts are all messed up, her colleagues get personal emails from her, that she hadn’t sent, and even her boss gets one.
Someone is trying to sabotage her, so she wouldn’t keep her work position.

Tell Me a Secret is mainly focused on friendships and rivalry. It talks about real friends and fake ones, and how far people would go when it comes to relationships with others.
It’s second focus is family and importance of people that are close to us.

There is no love story, which was kind of surprising to me, but I also have to stress out that it wasn’t missing at all. I think that this novel was complete and amazing without romance.
So if you’re not a fan of romance, here’s the book for you!

This book made me think and question why people lie to make themselves look better in others’ eyes.
I hate lies and don’t like people who tell them. I almost never lie, so reading about pathological liar in this book was kind of interesting. Still, I rolled my eyes at that character so much and thought she was just pathetic.

The end was so much different then the one I would chose to have in my real life, if I was in Holly’s shoes. I guess that just proves that Holly is bigger person then me.

In the end, I just want to mention that Fallon’s voice is so good that it was a pleasure to read this story.
Some parts were dragged, and maybe the novel could have been a bit shorter, but still, I appreciate every single chapter of this book.

And the cover… OmG, Jane Fallon always has these awesome book covers with food or drink on them, that are simple but attractive. You can not notice her book with those covers!

Overall, I would recommend this book to readers who like to read about friends and enemies, family and lots of drama.
If you like to discuss about books you read, this one is a perfect choice!

Jane Fallon excels in writing light hearted, entertaining, enjoyable and escapist novels imbued with plenty of intrigue. Having enjoyed her previous novels, I was looking forward to reading this one too, and I was not disappointed in the least. Whilst there is much of Fallon's trademark themes of relationships, deceit, rivalries and deception, this time round there is no romance and instead the focus is the nature of friends, the support they offer, with the unfriendly and toxic elements as well. Single mom Holly has prioritised bringing up her daughter, Ashley, at the expense of her career in TV. An overjoyed Holly is therefore understandably over the moon when she secures a promotion, assuming everyone will share and support her success. But are they???

On probation for the post, Holly's friend at work, Roz, share secrets and a similar sense of humour. Feeling a sense of insecurity and confidence issues, Holly is taken aback when a sustained campaign of sabotage begins to take place. Who is behind it? Who can Holly trust? As Holly acquires a new lodger, a story of twists and intrigue emerges that replicates that of the soap operas that Holly works in. This is a fast paced, compelling binge read that captures the world of office politics and gossip. Fallon constructs well written novels with wit and comic touches that have masses of appeal with the great characterisation that cannot fail to engage the reader. Friendships are a universal human phenomena, as indeed are the competitive territory of office politics, so Fallon has hit on a winning formula here. Many thanks to Penguin Michael Joseph for an ARC.

This is only the second novel I’ve read by Jane Fallon but I must say she’s fast becoming a firm favourite. When the reading mojo is dipping or I just need a break from all the crime fiction and psychological thrillers I tend to read, she is undoubtedly the perfect remedy.

Holly and Roz are colleagues and friends, working in the script department of a popular TV soap. They chat about anything and everything, gossiping the day away and aren’t averse to mocking their other colleagues from time to time. Then Holly gets a promotion and odd things start to happen. Who is trying to sabotage Holly and why? Holly is fairly confident she knows who is behind these shenanigans but proving it is an entirely different matter.

With its focus firmly on friendship and rivalry in the workplace, Tell Me A Secret had me engrossed from the very beginning. It annoyed me when I had to put the book down for whatever reason and I couldn’t wait to get back to it, which to me is always a sign of an excellent story. These characters are all immensely engaging and remarkably easy to relate to.

As much as the office mystery held my attention throughout, I was equally engrossed in Holly’s life outside of her work. There’s a healthy dash of humour, mostly provided by her best friend Dee, who is the most fabulous character! (With a name like that, how could she not be? 😉)

Tell Me A Secret is a delightfully entertaining and a thoroughly enjoyable tale of friendship, lies, deceit and rivalry. This light-hearted novel left me with a big smile on my face and provided the perfect antidote and escape for those dark and depressing January days. I will most definitely be making time this year to try and catch up on Jane Fallon’s other novels.

Hollys delight at securing a promotion as script executive on popular soap opera Churchill Road is soon shorted as one of her co-workers is trying to sabotage her new role during the probation period, what initially starts as alterations to scripts soon turns nastier and more vindictive.
Holly has an idea who it could be but she must gain the proof whilst still needing to prove that she’s the right person for the role.

The unease of having to be constantly on guard around those Holly thought she could trust really helps add to the mysteries of who and why they’re behind these attacks.

Holly’s friend Dee was such a fun additional character who added some welcomed comic relief amongst the cattiness as the pair scheme up some elaborate attempts to catch the culprit were so hilarious!

All the other characters were very strong additions to the story whilst the working environment of the quick turnaround to produce this type of show was easily explained - especially the minimal contact that the writer have with the actors.

This was my first Fallon novel and enjoyed every aspect of it, will definitely seek out some of her other books.

Tell Me A Secret by Jane Fallon. (2019).

Holly and Roz work together and are friends. But when Holly gets a promotion, Roz doesn't seem as happy as she should. When Holly starts to take a closer look at Roz's life outside of work, she discovers things that don't add up. Who really is Roz? Maybe it was a mistake to tell Roz all her secrets...

I enjoyed this novel and found it quite entertaining. Within a couple of chapters I was quite absorbed into the plot. I felt sorry for Holly who was excited to get a promotion and then things start happening that make her look incompetent, meanwhile her close work friend Roz starts acting a bit strange. I think the book had a clever concept of how we can be so open and tell our colleagues intimate and personal things, but we don't really know them outside of work so who knows what is really true or what's exaggerated (or even made up!). It's a book to escape into, where you find yourself in this bitchy work environment and suspect everyone but it also has light relief in Holly's interactions with her best friend Dee. I think a lot of readers would find this novel a great holiday/weekend binge read.

My review on www.bookread2day.wordpress.com
I bought my own paperback copy of Tell Me a Secret on Amazon, just Like have always bought my own Jane Fallon books. It’s amazing I absolutely loved every page, never knew what was coming next. I have to admit I didn’t see the ending coming.

I love reading stories about people in an office with the bitchy, jealous friendship that goes on. Holly has her chance of her dream job being head of the script department. For a short while Holly is on a trail run to see if she can cope with the full demands of running the script department with people under her. Holly shared so much with her best friend Roz, at work, and equally Roz told Holly everything about her glamorous life with her husband. With Holly thinking that Roz was her best friend, then freaky things start happening and then Holly discovers Roz wanted Holly’s job. How far will Roz go to try to stop Holly getting the job permanently at head of script department. And can everyone in the script office believe everything that Roz says ? I found this a highly addictive storyline, one that I truly recommend

Tell Me A Secret by Jane Fallon has been another difficult one for me to review. Partly because I can see the potential in the book and I could see how some people could love the story. Let’s face it stories about the deceptive nature of people are always a solid base for a novel! However, for me, I found the pacing to be too slow and ultimately predictable. As such, I did struggle to finish the story because I didn’t have that feeling of oh I can’t wait to dive back into this one, therefore I prioritized other books.

That being said the premise of an office friendship and the implications of what happens when one person inevitably starts doing better than the other. The jealously was great and the development of toxic characters was fun to read.

Overall, 3 stars for Tell Me a Secret. It was an easy read, that I know many people will find really enjoyable. It just didn’t blow me away.

Tell Me A Secret.

If you tell me yours I’ll tell you mine!

Okay, I can’t wait, I have to let it out.

I am madly in love with Jane Fallon’s latest novel!!! I can’t believe I have had Sweet Revenge forever and haven’t read it yet. You can be sure to see it reviewed very soon!

But, back to Tell Me A Secret. Wow!!! I am a die-hard fan of psychological thrillers, but this book seems to fall into a different category. The *OMG I want more* category? The *workplace mystery* category? Wherever you want to put it, it doesn’t matter, because every detail in this novel makes it original, refreshing, and infinitely entertaining. I am not talking about light and fun entertainment! I am talking creepy-what-is-happening-something-is-wrong entertainment!

No cops, no romance, no dead bodies. Tell Me A Secret doesn’t need them. Instead, Jane Fallon picked friendship and work. She shook the two and boom! A magnificent magnum appeared! I had no idea what to expect (I can hear you say that I repeat this often and that I should remember to read the blurbs before reading a book. My answer? No! My way’s funnier!) Of course, I’d heard of the author’s reputation and strong writing. I was also very fond of the cover. I think it would make a nice picture to have framed in your room. Maybe it’s just because of the bottle of wine and the fact I’m living in Bordeaux, but don’t you think this cover is classy with its beautiful shades of red/pink? Anyway, I chose my best mug and opened the bottle…

Holly, single mom and script writer, gets a deserved promotion. The team celebrates and you get a sense of what she thinks of everyone around. I just loved this. The foundations of my first impression on every other character was based on Holly’s feelings. Two things happen when the author chooses to go this way: you get close to the main character faster than I eat my cheeseburgers, and everything you know, or think you know, is subjective, so you’re never sure you have the rights cards to deal with or to fully understand a situation. I am used to this in crime fiction, usually with its unreliable characters, but I must admit that here, in this book, it had an even bigger impact. The work place is a tricky one. I felt Holly’s insecurity, I understood quickly the dynamics of the team and how her new position would trigger shifts. But never would I have suspected getting so much adrenaline and chills from a work ghost basically trying to ruin Holly’s chances at securing this job. Maybe I reacted so strongly about it because I had the bad luck of being stuck as part of a friendly-on-the-outside-but-rotten-in-the-inside team at some point in my work life. But you don’t need to have lived it to get what Holly is experiencing. Jane Fallon casts doubts and brings dread ... slowly but surely. Who can you trust? Roz, the friend who has had your back since you arrived and helped you with your application? The assistant who runs everywhere and therefore hears a lot? Juliet, the one who wanted the job you landed? Your boss, who is supposed to settle things and help you?

Tell Me A Secret is claustrophobic in its own way. I have no words to express just how anxious I felt for Holly as she went to work every day without knowing what would hit her. But it was a fabulous kind of anxiety, because I was on my couch!!! Still, Jane Fallon writes in such an intense way that you can’t help feeling thrown into this world of whispers and jealousy.

Just like Holly, I looked for answers, I prayed she’d get some respite, I couldn’t believe the lengths someone would get to for a revenge. What is wrong with people???? Then I realized this book was more than just a fantastic page-turner. What would I do? Would I break under the pressure? Could I forgive? Would I be so gullible? When you don’t have any reasons to doubt what someone tells you, you just go with it. Why complicate things? But as the novel shows, the way we interact with others at work has a massive effect on our own behavior in the place. Can we truly stay true to ourselves and keep an open-mind when we spend days with people and hear their views on things? I remembered all the times I heard ‘don’t bother with this person, she’s crazy/stupid/insert whatever’. And sometimes you accept it, you get into a routine, you think you’re safe. Well, grab Tell Me A Secret and check twice!!!

As most of us know, work has a tendency to ease its way into all aspects of your life, and Holly doesn’t escape the rule! The infection spreads to her personal life and what was supposed to be a happy time turns into a nightmare. Thankfully, she also has friends outside of work! Amazing people who made me laugh, who made me wish I had this kind of guys around, and who saved both Holly and I from going crazy! Holly’s daughter plays a part, too. We get to know Holly as a mother, as a friend, as a woman, as well as a worker. Thank goodness, because we are not robots!

Tell Me A Secret had me following red arrows and made me feel all the feels you get from work — happiness, frustration, self-doubts, and all the emotions from friendships gone wrong, only to remind me of the most important things.

Addictive like the dark green of a wine bottle and intoxicating like the crimson wine inside, Tell Me A Secret is devious and fascinating.

IT'S NO SECRET that Jane Fallon is a talented and witty writer with her own distinctive flair.

This book's protagonist is Holly (not Polly!), a single mom and scriptwriter who just received a big promotion. She is given three months by her boss to prove that she is worthy of the job.

As soon as Holly receives the good news about her promotion, trouble in the office begins.

An unknown coworker feels slighted and Holly's work instantly gets sabotaged. Emails that Holly never wrote are released with Holly's name and her work becomes compromised.

Who is trying to take Holly down? A distrusted coworker or one of Holly's closest office colleagues and friends?

TELL ME A SECRET is a fun and entertaining read that takes rivalry, friendship, deception, and office comradery to exciting new levels. Peppered throughout the text are Jane Fallon's witty lines that elevate this book to a league of its own.

I listened to the audiobook and the narration was superb.

One can never be too rich, too thin, or read too many Jane Fallon books.

I am a huge Jane Fallon fan and will always look forward to listening to future titles by this author.

Although this book was written really well, it was interesting and intriguing I found the characters a little annoying and it wasn’t my favourite Jane falling book. But it wasn’t bad.

Jane Fallon's, Tell Me A Secret, is about how deceptive people can be in the work place.
Jealously takes over when Holly gets a promotion. Holly blames a colleague of hers. Little does she know it's someone closer to home. When acts of sabotage start in order to make Holly look bad on her probationary period, she realise she must act fast before she loses her job.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

I do love a good workplace mystery, and I thoroughly enjoyed Tell Me a Secret. Holly, a script editor on a popular TV soap, is overjoyed to have won the promotion she applied for. But it seems not everyone in her office is happy for her - in fact, someone is clearly out to sabotage Holly’s position by any means necessary, and she’s confident she knows who that person is. But of course, it’s not that straightforward...

I think I suspected everybody, at some point, of involvement in the campaign against Holly, from her best friend Dee to series producer Glen - and while it was obvious that certain people weren’t exactly on the level, all the twists and turns took a while to be revealed. Who’s out to get Holly, and equally to the point, what can she do about it?

The characterisation was great - I could really visualise and believe in all the characters both at work and out of it and I was rooting for Holly all the way though. A really enjoyable, escapist read.

Juvenile. Immature. Boring. I couldn’t care less what happened to Holly. I didn’t finish the book. I’ve always enjoyed Jane Fallon’s books (the first 7 were brilliant) but I feel she’s just churning them out now. I didn’t enjoy her previous book to this and was hoping she’d get back on track but not with this one. A 10 year old could read this book.

I have only just started reading Jane Fallon books in the last few months and can't believe I have been missing out for so long! The bonus to that is that I can now read the back catalogue in quick succession without having to wait a year or so between publications.

The plot for this book has been different to the others I have read as it usually involves relationships/break up's/cheating but this one concentrated solely on work colleagues who are also friends.

Holly gets a promotion at work with the support of her friend based in the same department, Roz. As Holly takes on the role someone appears to be attempting to sabotage her success and possibly stop Holly in her work tracks before she has barely started as the end of her probation period is looming fast. Holly and Roz are clear who this is.....but is all really as clear cut as it seems?

Holly joins forces with best friend Dee to try and work out, and then catch out, the culprit before Holly is deemed unsuitable for the role and at worst faces a potential firing.

I'm now used to a twist, or 3 or 4!, in Jane's novels but even though I expected a few turns here and there I had not guessed sometimes where the story was heading and the outcome. This certainly added to the enjoyment factor and it was a gripping read in terms of how much I felt that I was rooting for Holly and for certain people within the company to wise up!

I really enjoyed reading about Dee and her husband's attempts to assist Holly in finding out who could be behind the malicious campaign and these parts were thoroughly entertaining - Holly alludes to Dee having a career as a Private Investigator well within reach and I'd have to agree with this!

Overall the characters (well...obviously not all of them...) were likeable and engaged me into wanting to read more and more - I really raced through this excellent book and highly recommend it. It's a bit different from the usual genres of romance, psychological, thriller or mystery and at times is very comical.

My thanks to Penguin UK (Michael Joseph) for providing me with this advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, this was brilliant. It was so different from last year’s book (or rather this year January 2018), and unlike her other books which are usually about a woman getting revenge or a woman scorned.
This didn’t have any romance in it and concentrated on friendships instead and how you should keep your friends close but your enemies closer. The story was really well developed and written. It even had you doubting everyone, who could you trust?!
I’ve read some good books this year but every now and again one comes along and reminds you how brilliant a book can be, and this one did that for me. It was just a higher class of writing, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages wanting more. I even found myself thinking about the book when I wasn’t reading, and then you truly know the book has gotten its grip and won’t let you go until you’ve finished it!
I had been a little worried as when I read the last book I was somewhat underwhelmed as I felt the story was a bit repetitive and obvious. I’d still enjoyed it, but I was expecting something of the same from this one. However, Fallon has completely outdone herself with this latest novel; it is utterly superb!
I can’t believe I have to potentially wait over a year now for her next book!

A gossipy, compulsive story of female career rivalry, lies and deceit. The negative female stereotypes are balanced by female friendships, old and new. Knowing Fallon's previous books means some revelations are predictable - but the detail keeps us involved. Perfect switch-off reading.

Tell Me a Secret is my first read of Jane Fallon’s escapism with edge for the modern woman and not only was it a blast from start to finish, but I positively lapped every moment of the drama up! My fear that the novel would be chick-lit was countered by a plot based around rivalry, deception and revenge in a predominantly female workplace with romantic male characters in very short supply!

When forty-three-year-old Holly Cooper wins a promotion from script writer to script executive on the popular soap opera where she has worked for the past three years, it is testament to her decision to bring up her daughter, Ashley, as a single mother ahead of concentrating on her career. But with twenty-two-year-old Ashley away from home it should be a welcome opportunity for Holly to progress up the career ladder and toasting her achievement with ally and desk mate thirty-year-old Roz Huntingdon is the icing on the cake. Despite being complete opposites in character, their shared sense of humour, gossipy chat and Holly living vicariously through vivacious Roz’s marriage to a PR guru with a portfolio of celebrity clients makes for a firm friendship. Outspoken and confident, Roz’s over-the-top stories are only matched by her individual fashion style and she appears to be everything that unassuming, pyjama loving Holly is not.

With three months probation to secure the position and prove herself worthy of the job, Holly is totally bewildered when her first week in the new job gets off to a poor start with a series of minor incidents with no easily identifiable source having instigated them. As trusted friend and sharer of workplace gossip, Holly confides in Roz who has a very clear idea of just who is behind such a vicious and cynical campaign to undermine Holly, leave her reputation in tatters and ensure she fails to make the grade in her new job... But knowing it and proving it are two different things entirely and with the spotlight on suspicion shifting throughout Holly’s new team it makes her look behind the facade of office pleasantries and reassess those she works with. When Holly’s boss, Glen, reveals that her ultra supportive champion, Roz, also applied for the job it forces her to separate the reality of Roz’s gregarious and flippant image from the actual reality and realise where her real enemy lies..

As Holly opens up her house to a lodger in order to financially assist her daughter it sees her best friend and hospital receptionist, Dee, acting as advisor in selecting the candidate and subsequently throwing herself into Holly’s work dilemmas and the conspiracy to sabotage her dream. With a genuine friend fighting her corner and Dee’s husband, Gavin, a more than willing amateur detective, their exploits make for brilliantly good fun. Not only do they thrive on every moment of the thrill, but the benefit of their blossoming relationship is an unexpected bonus. Holly’s fragile confidence is only matched by her admirable desire to be proactive and take control of the situation, however her willingness to try to see the good in everyone and not hold grudges makes her a soft touch. As a ragtag band of supporters pull together to see off the guilty party with just one week until Holly’s promotion is confirmed they are prepared to wage war.. But when push comes to shove and a chance to strike the killer blow is in sight, Holly must decide what really matters; self-preservation and contentment, or all out revenge?

Tell Me a Secret proves such a rousing success as there is actual substance to the story and the details of the duplicitous behaviour are conveyed in enough depth to involve the reader and carry them along (from mislaid scripts, stolen ideas and spiteful miscommunications). The authors background in successful modern television drama pays dividends and the story benefits from behind the scenes secrets on how a continuing drama series is made, with plenty of juicy insights into the day to day script writing, the competition to be released for pantomime and the many egos amongst the cast. Whilst there is plenty of relationship intrigue, from mother-daughter, suspicion between colleagues, and bonds forged between unexpected alliances, it would do the novel a complete disservice to present it as complete claws out cattiness because Fallon’s characters have emotional depth.

Admittedly some of the twists are pretty predictable and most readers will have the mechanics of the plot sussed long before the moment of ultimate revelation, but there are a multitude of convoluted surprises ahead of the denouement! Together with a handful of involving subplots including Dee’s marriage languishing in the doldrums, Ashley’s motherhood dilemma and the real character behind the butt of Roz’s jokes in self-contained, Juliet, there is plenty going on. The opening up of Juliet’s character and Holly learning to make up her own mind and not be swayed by other people’s judgement is one of the most rewarding aspects of the story. Holly’s first-person narrative is appealingly conversational and filled with evidence of her vulnerability thus allowing the reader to sympathise with her predicament. There is a down-to-earth appeal to Jane Fallon’s humour and observations on life and the conversations between her characters have an air of credibility which is too often absent in novels of the genre. Fast-paced and action packed, this workplace drama is one that readers won’t want to see the back of until the very last shot has been fired!

Brilliant escapism from an author who I will undoubtedly be reading again in the not too distant future! Highly recommended women’s drama and a world away from cheesy chick-lit!

If there's one thing I can trust Jane Fallon will nail every single time, it's writing a book in a way that's very easy to read.

One thing that was entirely different compared to My Sweet Revenge and Faking Friends was the focus of the story. Where the main aspect used to be romance and love, Tell Me a Secret focuses on friendships way more. It surprised me, since I didn't expect it to be the case but.. in a good way?

Our main character - Holly - is a script editor for a television soap! Which means most of this novel is set at her job, where there's scripts galore! Of course, we don't find out much about the actual show but.. I still loved it since it felt so unique to me.

Now, where the fun's actually at? The characters!

From the get-go, you notice Molly wants to be sure of herself, show some confidence since she just got promoted and feels the pressure of people's expectations. Not to mention how she suddenly has to manage the people she worked with and now work for her. That isn't an easy feat in normal circumstances, let alone when you're getting back-stabbed over and over by the skies know who. It really hurt me seeing her like that, noticing how she was crawling back into her shell but.. in the end it also shows the character growth throughout the entire novel. Not to mention her relationship with her daughter - which wasn't overly present, but I loved the glimpses we got!

Which leads me to the side characters, who are so much more fleshed out than I thought they'd be! Having their own issues and battles to fight, it added an entire extra dimension to Tell Me a Secret.

The last thing I most definitely have to mention is Jane Fallon's ability to write toxic characters. Up until now, that's featured in every book of hers I've read and it's why I keep wanting to read them as well. Having that one character to hate in a book? I know most of us enjoy that, even if it's just a little bit.

Not necessarily a bad thing but I did figure out what was going on specifically - like, details and all - before I was "meant to". I'm pretty sure this has more to do with having read Jane Fallon's work before and, thus, having some insight in the way she writes and constructs her stories. It didn't ruin my reading experience at all, but.. I might have wished it wasn't so predictable? Just a little bit?

I really enjoyed reading this one. It was different than Jane Fallon's other work, but that's exactly why I love it so much! It's refreshing, but still familiar and that combination did the trick!

4,5 / 5!

Deliciously compulsive this really is a total pleasure of a read that I just flew through. Gossip, lies, friendships that may not be quite what they seem and devious behaviour is at the heart of this mystery and it makes for a brilliant novel and it’s so well written that you really do feel a part of all the machinations that are going on. My first book by the fabulous Jane Fallon and it won't be the last the excellent characterisation made it a novel I thoroughly enjoyed and well recommend.
My thanks to NetGalley and Penguin UK for the chance to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I’m a huge fan of Jane Fallon’s books so I was very excited to be asked to be part of the blog tour for her latest book, keeping it to read over Christmas when I’d have time to fully enjoy it.

In Tell Me A Secret the author has once again created a wonderful escapist novel about female friendship and the problems they can cause. I liked that the book was set in the work place as I thought that provided lots of opportunities for jealousy and sabotage. Throughout the book the author skillfully weaves a fantastic story full of intrigue with lots of twists and turns that’s keeps the reader guessing. I think I suspected everyone of sabotaging Holly at times which always makes the read more enjoyable.

This book is different from the author’s other books as there is no romance in it and the rivalry isn’t over a man for once. Instead the focus is purely on female friendships and the different forms they can take. The problems in the book are ones that I’m sure most readers would recognise and is quite comforting to read about as it makes you realise how common they are. There is also that naughty sense of being able to watch all the action unfold without being judged! I’m sure we all enjoy a bit of drama at times.

My only slight problem with this book was that I didn’t warm to the main character Holly. I found her to be a little annoying at times and I found myself feeling sympathy for the person sabotaging her as I think she’d be quite difficult to work with. This wasn’t necessary a bad thing though as I think it made me more open minded as I wasn’t on one person’s side, so was able to just be an observer.

I’ve read most of Jane Fallon’s books and she is one of my go to author’s for reads that are gripping and full of escapism. I’m always excited when she has a new book out so can’t wait to read more from her.

Huge thanks to Jenny Platt at Michael St Joseph for inviting me onto the blog tour and for my copy of this book. If you like gripping reads about female friendships that you can lose yourself in then you’ll love this book.

Holly has been given her dream job but her work bestie, Roz, seems to be faking her happiness. Once things start to take a turn at work it would seem that Roz isn’t that happy at all but no one believes Holly about the mysterious things that keep happening. Throw in Holly’s new lodger and the fun holly has with her best friend, Dee, things could get messy! As always Jane’s books are a fabulous read with laugh out loud moments and lines you read and identify with completely.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoyed this and was surprised at some of the things people will do to their so called friends. But this kept me entertained and reading as I kept thinking what I would do and then something different would happen and then it would shock me. I would recommend this for an easy read that can be a bit comical as well.

Grāmata kā seriāls, žvīks žvāks un kopā ar grāmatas galveno varoni Holliju Kūperi esmu izdzīvojusi vienu varenu sievieškolektīva drāmu visā tās krāšņumā. Grāmata ļoti labi parāda sieviešu "draudzības" zemūdens akmeņus, sāncensību, izlikšanos, melus.

Mazliet no drāmas, mazliet no izmeklēšanas, mazliet no jauniešu problēmām. Vietām jautri, vietām mazliet nopietnāk. Tāds labs balanss ātrai izklaidei.
Vai es šo grāmatu atcerēšos pēc gada? Nezinu.

I enjoyed this, bit different from some of my current reads so made a nice change of pace. This is a story about female friendships and doesn’t involve romance, it’s very accurate representing the relationships and their ups and downs. Also working in an office myself this is scarily accurate and could relate to all the characters. A really good read and I recommend it.

Thanks To netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest review

Absolutely loved this book, it had me hooked from page 1. Loved the drama and all the wee twists. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I told myself I'm being better with my ratings this year, only top top top of my faves will be getting 5 stars!

(I also realise this is a crap review but I hate people who type the full story line in reviews. My opinion is - just read it, you'll love it!!)
