About the author

Dana Buckmir published her first book in the sixth grade. The story was written on index cards stapled to the pages and bound together by yarn. That experience was the first time she envisioned herself as one day becoming a writer.

Her first book, a memoir – Plenty of Laughs: One Woman’s Journey Navigating the Online Dating Waters is a comical account of her personal experience with dating in the age of technology. The compelling story of finding love online focuses on the importance of maintaining a sense of humor and never losing hope.

I got the chance to meet DanaDane recently when I purchased her book at a local book signing. She is spot - on with this one! The online dating scene is like nothing else and some of her stories were definitely familiar. I couldn't put the book down as I wanted to follow here next "experience" to see if it related to one of mine. So entertaining!

Oh my gosh! At the start of Plenty of Laughs, there are just that. Her mother signs her up for a on-line dating site to rid her of her current fling. (Not going to reveal whether he should be tossed to the curb here - read the book!)
Then the main character (it's Dana) goes through a major life change. She packs her bags and moves to South Florida. (Seriously, read the book). This is where life gets interesting.
If you have experienced on line dating, the book will let you know you were not alone in your challenges. If you haven't, this gives a view of what it is like to be single in today's world.
Either way, I laughed, gasped, and at a couple points, cried, through Dana's real life dating adventure.
You should do the same! Buy the book!

My mom met Dana at a book signing and had her send me the book. I'm not a big reader and Plenty of Laughs was a perfect Summer read! I myself have experienced online dating horror stories and was constantly laughing out loud reading Dana's. Dana wrote in a very clever way and I must say some of the dates she went on could be made into a TV show! I loved being able to relate and being the same age made it even better. I recommend her book to anyone that has or currently using dating apps or just wants a fun beach read!

This is the best, most well written book I ever read! The Author Dana Buckmir takes you on a journey you’ll never forget. Every scene she describes takes you inside her experiences, easily imagining you were there. You will laugh out loud, the title Plenty of Laughs could not be a better description of what’s inside the covers. I had the pleasure of meeting the author, her accounts of these very true encounters were even funnier in person. She is kind, smart, funny and genuine. Do not hesitate to order your copy of Plenty of Laughs today!!

Perfect for anyone who loves to laugh! Dana Buckmir's debut book is a chuckle invoking, entertaining story of a woman navigating online dating in an internet savvy age. Through the text-message relays of conversations with online suitors, written explanations of her dates and verbal conversations with her friend, Dana conveys the confusing, complicated and often hilarious adventures of online dating as a single woman. Most anyone dating these days can identify with the scenarios Dana found herself in, and can laugh out loud right along with her while reading her story. This book is a great reminder that despite all the choices one must make in life, sometimes the best choice to make is to just laugh!
