4.5 I Love This Series Stars
I enjoyed the hell out of this thing...but I also had some mixed feelings about one thing in the book too.
I can't talk about it without including some massive spoilers, so don't click on the spoiler tag if you haven't read the book yet.
Regardless.
I loved spending time with my Lost Kings and I can't WAIT for After Glow.

After Burn is the tenth book in the Lost Kings MC Series. I have long been a fan of the men and women of the LOKI and when I found out that another book was coming out featuring my favorite couple of all time, I could barely contain my excitement. Rochlan "Rock" North, the President of the LOKI and his spunky lawyer wife Hope have been through so much to be together. Now that time has passed, we get a glimpse into their lives today and discover that they face new challenges and trials to overcome. Rock is striving to balance the demands of his job in the club and keeping his wife safe and happy. When some surprising circumstances are revealed, their world is turned upside down. Rock and Hope will once again turn to their LOKI family and each other in order to find their way.
"I could easily spend all night with my face buried in her pussy."Told in multiple POV, After Burn is a perfect blend of passion, romance, friendship, and good old-fashioned MC action! The tempo of the read flows fluidly as each moment seamlessly blends into the next. I am quite biased when it comes to these characters as they are complex, loyal, and each one unique. Rock and Hope are my favorite married couple and every word on every page had me swooning. Every time I pick up a LOKI book, it is like coming home. Rock and Hope are exactly where I'd always hoped they would be and as Ms. Lake continues to add more to the series, my love for the LOKI only grows stronger. This is one series that I truly hope never ends!

Overall, I cannot truly express into words my love for After Burn and the entire LOKI series. The return of Rock and Hope is full of love, passion, action, and true romance. If you haven't met the men and the women of the LOKI you are truly missing out. As for the ending, I am DYING and DESPERATE to find out what happens next!!!! I cannot wait for more!!!! No doubt Ms. Lake has more greatness for Rock and Hope and the entire crew coming up!

I am not exactly deelited with this one, unfortunately it is a cliff hanger and I despise them. I always immediately start considering the best way to arrange for meteor strikes on all books that have cliffy's because they just drive me nuts.
(No, I DO NOT LIKE delayed gratification.)
So really this was a 3.5, but I like the series and I rounded up.
(Plus I read the author's notes and was moved to empathy over her dilemma, you know the author is a great writer when I am feeling her pain just from the notes.)
But my other big complaint is that there was just too many freakin' sex scenes. I don't mind sex, but I REALLY HATE when a very excellent plot line is interrupted for several pages of bopping like bunnies.
The characters are in love and have a lot of sex, I get it - I also don't care. People do what they do and I am happy for them, but I don't need pages and pages and pages of it in the middle of some huge plot events.
The big issues are done well, Hope is having a baby (hurray!), The downstate NY Kings are having drama, and the club got served with paternity papers. So who's the daddy is a big issue coming up.
(My money is on Teller, but I could be wrong on that.)
It also bugs me a bit that we get all Rock and Hope POV and nothing from Wrath or Trinity's take on things. (But really that is just me being cranky, cause W & T are my favorite characters.)
So my conclusion- if you follow the series, the world building and potential issues coming up in the next book are five stars - it just took too long with too much gratuitous sex scenes to get there and I am not feeling the lurve about that.
But I did pre-order the next because this is a great series and I do like following these characters around, hence the four star cranky rating.
* But I think there should be another book with a lot of Wrath, so I can indulge my biker Viking fantasies.

Whether it’s book 5 or book 10 of the Lost Kings it’s always so easy to get back into this series and these wonderful characters. One might think that 10 books of a series is enough but in this case it’s far from it. The author Autumn Jones Lake knows how to switch it up from book to book and there’s the core of characters to keep me enthralled and interested. Lost Kings keeps getting better with every book. The characters keep showing new sides and shedding layers of themselves for me to come back for more.
After Burn is primarily about Rock and his ol’ lady and wife Hope but the other members of the MC play a role too. As they should cause it’s a brotherhood. They’re a family.
Rock and Hope’s story has been told and explored in the first three book in the series and in White Heat. I can’t get enough of this power couple. They complement each other and are perfect as the MC’ s King and Queen. Their love and dedication to one another, the club and brothers never waver. Autumn Jones Lake has created a series about a MC but it’s so much more. Lost Kings is all about family, love and brotherhood. I’ll never get enough of that and these people. I’m a LOKI fan forever.

5 I Need The Next Book Now Stars....
This is going to be a short review - I'm saving everything for After Glow and I don't want to give any spoilers away.
After Burn is Book 10 in the Lost Kings MC and it focuses mainly on Hope and Rock although all the other Kings and their women are very present too. I love that feeling of slipping back into a book world that I know and enjoy - it is like meeting up with old friends that you haven't seen for a while, it feels very quickly like you have never been away. Hope and Rock are so strong together. Wrath , Trinity, Teller, Charlotte, Murphy , Heidi , Z and all the guys still have brilliantly funny, interesting and well scripted conversations that make me feel like I am sat there with them. The relationship dynamics and character nuances intrigue me. I cannot get enough of the Lost Kings family.
The MC is relatively calm but I read the whole book waiting on tenterhooks waiting for the other shoe to drop...and drop it did. I need the next book NOW...aarrgghhh..... 30th November 2018 cannot get here quickly enough.
HEA? Things are bubbling under the surface and there is also a huge plot twist that needs resolution.
Cheating? No. Rock's world begins and ends with Hope and she adores her man.
"You'd think I'd be used to the way my heart stops when I look at my wife. But something about her grabs hold of me every damn time."
Standalone? Absolutely not. You need to have read at least 4 of the other books but I recommend the whole series because it is awesome. BEST.MC SERIES.EVER

Worthy of all the stars!
Even before reading it, I knew I would love it and my prediction was 💯 on point.
How could it not...each book in this series just keeps getting better!!
Exciting, sexy and totally swoon worthy, once I started reading I was done with everything else around me. I was automatically enraptured by this new installment from beginning to end. It’s that good!
Easy, fast paced, passionate and heartfelt read, I found it to be the best of the Lost Kings!
The story is not your typical outlaw mc romance story, but it’s real, raw and laced with “emotion and honesty”!
Lots of sharp banter and funny one liners, this read was a definite page turner.
I got front and center seats to heartbreaking and nail biting moments between the men of the LOKI and their ladies. My favorite couple Rock and Hope don’t disappoint as we see how their love and trust for each other has evolved since their “I do’s” 2 years prior!!
A complicated club run to Nationals becomes the stage for an intimate exchange of secrets and revelations between the men of the LOKI and their ladies.
But what price are they willing to pay for that connection. There were some white knuckle moments as the build up and suspense develop.
Rock and his club are shook to the core with new developments.

THIS BOOK! THIS SERIES! THIS COUPLE!!! ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!
THIS is what romance, love, relationships, and alpha heroes should be!! This is a true romance full of love, devotion, and loyalty. God I love this couple so much!
If you've been reading this series since the beginning as I have then you probably have certain expectations for what After Burn and After Glow will be about. Let me tell you, it is so much MORE than just that. Take what you think After Burn is about and multiply it by 1,000!
Rock and Hope are back and stronger than ever. No bullshit, childish game playing or phony conflicts between these two. Two real adults so much in love that it bleeds off of every single page. I love seeing how in love they still are and how much they care for each other. How they treat each other with respect and how devoted they are to each other and to the club.
No spoilers from me. You have to read it, savor it, live and breath it for a couple days. Let it sink in and then read it again!
I can't wait for the conclusion, After Glow.

I’m gonna talk a little about the Lost Kings MC first before I tell you about After Burn.
This family of brothers AND ‘sisters’ are an inspiring and enriching group of people. They stand with each other no matter the consequences. They are an amazing brotherhood full of love and warmth and growth and friendship and family and a huge heart for one another. The word family seems inadequate as a description. They are so much more than that. They are soulmates. They are kismet. Their bond is untouchable and unwavering and although it is constantly tested, these guys AND ladies always pass the test with flying colors! A club with ups and downs, misfortunes and blessings, winding life paths they each take together for each other and for their club.
After Burn is one of those winding paths. Well, it’s the beginning of one of those winding paths. There’s not much I can tell you plot-wise except you will have questions when you finish reading and I have no doubt they will be answered in After Glow, the second part of this journey. I say I have no doubt because Autumn Jones Lake is always thorough and never unwavering in her story-telling. Every detail necessary for a story to make sense is always presented to the reader. There's never a guessing game with her. And I admire the heck out of that. No stone is EVER left un-turned and yet she always keeps you on your toes. If it’s one thing I know about Autumn, is that she doesn't make it easy :) but in the end, everything is always worth the ride! #TRUST
So, let’s chat about After Burn a bit. If you’re new to the Lost Kings, I strongly suggest you at least read Slow Burn before you read this book. THIS particular journey focuses a lot on Rock and Hope, President and First Lady of the MC. You should know how they met. Slow Burn will introduce you to not only Rock and Hope, but also help you understand the impact of things revealed. *sigh* I don’t know if that makes any sense, all I know is that the Lost Kings are about to have their strength and loyalty tested. I have no doubt they will come out on the other side of this circumstance stronger but it’s gonna be a ride for sure. I wouldn’t expect anything less from this author!
One last thing …. I’ve always said this series is not one you can read without starting from the beginning. I say that because in almost every book, there are two journeys going on. The MC has a journey and whomever the leads are at the time have their own personal journey. However, technically, you can start with any one of the books and read the romance journey within that book with no issue. You will get an incredibly well written story of growth and love and heart. BUT, you will miss out on the Lost Kings family growth and this family is part of who they are. It is their blood. It is their life. They are one. So my advice still stand, start at the beginning, you won’t regret it. #TRUST

Cliffhanger
I’m loving this series and I can’t get enough but...
I have to say the blurb unsettled me. As I was reading I was waiting for the ball to drop. After finishing I have to say I felt the blurb was misleading for this book anyway.

OMG absolutely loved this book. Finding it hard to put into words how awesome Autumn Jones Lake is at dragging you in and keeping you hooked with her books. For all I loved the whole book I must say I especially liked the first part of the book the most (don't want to spoil anything) but I found myself wanting to found out what happens between sway and tawny (that's how invested I became in the characters) loved that we got to meet the national president too. Hope and rocks love and intensity was off the charts as always, love reading how strong they are as a couple especially loved the pepper spray incident and how hope was determined to protect her man lol. So so can't wait for the next installment and be dragged once again into the crazy world of the lost kings. Come on folks give this awesome author a read and getting yourself hooked on the awesomeness that is the lost kings

Welcome to the book that changes everything; the biggest and foremost, the future of the MC.
After Burn is part of the Lost King MC series and cannot be read without the previous books, this is the everlasting love story of Rock and Hope.
Rocks life is the best its ever been, he has his wife at his back and his brothers by his side, when MC business takes them out of state they come together and continue to prove their loyalty to everything King related. Secrets and marriage don’t mix, keeping a secret from Rock is the worst move that Hope has made in a long time. When an unexpected letter turns up in the mail Rock stands by the men that he calls family and tackles the situation head on. Will a secret and the Club’s past destroy everything Rock has been working towards or will he get the happily ever after he dreams about?
It was so good to get back into Rock and Hopes head, these two characters are the King and Queen of this series. Rock is still the over protective alpha male that will destroy anything or anyone that gets in between Hope and the MC. Hope has found her place and she is sitting mighty fine, she continues to voice her opinions and stands up for what she believes.
Rock and Hope never have an issue with bringing the heat, Rock continues to never let Hope to far out of his sight or hands. The undeniable love that Rock and Hope have for each other are all over the pages of this book, leaving you wondering how to get your own invitation to the play room.
I personally loved this book, I have been addicted to this series from the very beginning; going on this roller coaster of a journey with all the characters. From the first page of this book I knew Lake had put her heart and soul into it, everything meticulously planned crossing her t’s and dotting her I’s. After Burn is part of the Lost King MC series and cannot be read without the previous books, this is the everlasting love story of Rock and Hope.
Rocks life is the best its ever been, he has his wife at his back and his brothers by his side, when MC business takes them out of state they come together and continue to prove their loyalty to everything King related. Secrets and marriage don’t mix, keeping a secret from Rock is the worst move that Hope has made in a long time. When an unexpected letter turns up in the mail Rock stands by the men that he calls family and tackles the situation head on. Will a secret and the Club’s past destroy everything Rock has been working towards or will he get the happily ever after he dreams about?
It was so good to get back into Rock and Hopes head, these two characters are the King and Queen of this series. Rock is still the over protective alpha male that will destroy anything or anyone that gets in between Hope and the MC. Hope has found her place and she is sitting mighty fine, she continues to voice her opinions and stands up for what she believes.
Rock and Hope never have an issue with bringing the heat, Rock continues to never let Hope to far out of his sight or hands. The undeniable love that Rock and Hope have for each other are all over the pages of this book, leaving you wondering how to get your own invitation to the play room.
I personally loved this book, I have been addicted to this series from the very beginning; going on this roller coaster of a journey with all the characters. From the first page of this book I knew Lake had put her heart and soul into it, everything meticulously planned crossing her t’s and dotting her I’s. I am officially on count down till After Glow is released, blocking out my day and throwing adulting out the window to find out how this cliff-hanger ends.

Wow. Fans of this series will devour this book like the tasty, sexy and romantic treat it is, and more. If you are new to this series TURN BACK NOW AND READ BOOK 1. This is NOT a standalone.
Gosh, I just love these two characters. 11-ish books in and I'm still not bored of Rock and Hope and loved them being centre stage again. No spoilers here. Just can't wait for the second part, Due November 30, to find out what happens.

Awesome!
Once again, Autumn Jones Lake knocks it out of the park with her trademark blend of gruff and still sweet heroes. The Lost Kings are a family and reading one of their books feels like a visit with old friends. Lake has an immense talent for making the reader feel like they are sitting on the characters' shoulders, spying on a day in their lives.

All the feels love loyalty brotherhood .... Love the Loki family. Autumn is an amazing author. This series isn’t a normal series it sucks you in Rock Hope trinity wrath teller Charlotte MY Z ...Stash sparky Dex ravage bricks al of them appear in this book. Iron bulls show up. z still has his wise ass mouth that I love so much. Ravage is very mouthy in this book so I know autumn has to have something cooking with him he must really be speaking to her now.... I hate cliffhangers but this isn’t the kind of Cliffy that’s gonna make you wanna throw whatever your reading it on but your not gonna be happy about waiting for the next book and oh the basement 🔥🔥🔥

I just love and adore this series. These characters feel like my friends and family because Autumn has allowed us to be a part of the journey of her characters. As they grow and change through the years we get to a part of it and as a reader, I feel more connected to this series than any other.
Most romance books never go beyond the traditional HEA ending. It's all about meeting that one and what it takes to be together, but I often find life more fascinating in the after. People don't stop changing or evolving just because they found their person. Life is not less troublesome just because you found love and I applaud the author for taking the risk and exploring all facets of a relationship.
I loved getting more of Rock and Hope and to get to see how much they have changed since the very beginning. Hope was so very insecure and unsure of herself in the very beginning, but now she is truly a queen. Not perfect (but who is) she is someone that loves her LOKI family and no one better get in the way. She is fiercely protective and loyal to her husband and will do anything to protect him and their relationship. In this book, you really understand why this club loves her and will do anything to protect their first lady.
Rock is really everything in this book. He can make any women swoon. His love and devotion to not only Hope but to his LOKI family are awe-inspiring. He has built something real and special with his club and all members take their directive from him and as he changes and grows so does the rest of the LOKI members.
Autumn sure gives you a great ride in this book. Most of it is quiet and unassuming. Which is perfect for everything these two, plus the club have gone through. You get to see them just be a family and get to really see how they interact within the motorcycle world and it was fun to see. Plus I just loved all the family dinner scenes. Made my heart all happy and giddy.
As much as it is unassuming there are some big surprises in this book and ones that will forever change Rock, Hope, and the entire LOKI family. It is a great reminder that their world is real and raw and sometimes past actions will come back to haunt you.

OMG!!! This is thus far the best yet!!! I have officially become obsessed with The Lost Kings MC!!! I LOVE reading about Hope and Rock!! Their love story is EPIC!! I can read about them FOREVER!! Autumn Jones Lake kept her promise of finding out who "Grace" is. This story had me on edge from beginning to end!! I love how Autumn touched on every character (even though this was Rock & Hope's story) it was nice to read on how the other characters were doing. This book made brought out so many emotions. I truly enjoyed the roller coaster ride this book had me on!!! And the ending...there are no words!!! By far Autumn has become my favorite author!!! Her writing style is one of a kind!!! Keep writing Autumn, because I'll keep reading!!

So many things went through my mind reading this book. First was yay finally I get to read it. Then all the banter between these guys, they’re truly a family through and through. The love Rock has for Hope blows me away with each book. And her love for him in return, heartmelting! I really connected with this story more so than most of the others, and Autumn wrote it beautifully!!!! I loved it!!!! How it ends on....sets up for the conclusion....left me with all sorts of theories!!!! Bring on book 2!!!!!

What can I say about a book that paints such a clear picture in my head while reading it, it's like going through a photo album with explanations for each picture? My favorite characters throughout the Lost Kings series have always been Rock and Hope and to have another book centered on them is nirvana!! The best parts are the interactions and the love between all the characters, that make me laugh and cry. Hope's thoughts are actually a philosophy I've lived by for a few years now. "That's life. We don't get the one we want, we get the one we're given. The only thing we can control is how we react to things out of our control." How true is that?!! And Rock's thoughts are just as spot on. "Everyone sees what you appear to be. What you allow them to see. Few people ever experience who you really are. Even fewer will ever know who you are deep down in your soul." The funny/weird thing is I had just said something very similar to that to my best friend the very day I read that, which to me was a sign of how much I was going to love this book, and I did, very much!! And the best part, there's another LOKI book coming VERY soon!!! At this point in the series I'm positive you are just as invested in this series as I am, but if you are hesitating even for a second, I can assure you, even though I didn't think it was possible, the books get better and better!! I was reading an extremely steamy part while at a doctor's appointment and when the nurse came in she said,"You look really flushed, are you okay?" I kind of told her why and we made small talk for a few minutes so my blood pressure wouldn't be too high when she checked it. The love and red hot sex that Rock and Hope share is intoxicating, and definitely something I wish I had!! So I will now bide my time until After Glow comes out. Enjoy!!

Normally I start my review with saying this is so and so's book but it really involves several people and to say anything about the book will be spoilers. It was mostly Rock's and Hope's story again but with a big twist at the end.
Fantastic writing and kept me up reading late. One of the best parts is the end. Maybe I should say best because I've been waiting for the main story that comes about in this one....the whole thing is too interesting.

This book was everything I was hoping for, and it answered loads of questions I have had.
Autumn Jones Lake has done an exceptional job once again, she grabs you by your imagination, and has you hooked from page one.
I can't wait for after glow. I highly recommend this series, and book.

Autumn delivers another amazing chapter in the Lost Kings story. What a rollercoaster ride Autumn (aka evil mastermind) takes us on as we get more time with Rock, Hope and all our favourite bikers. This story has it all moments that make you laugh out loud, scenes so hot you can feel the steam coming off you're ereader and parts that will have you screaming very loud. For all of us stalkers who have been rereading, and discussing in Autumns group what this or that line in past books could mean, we get the answer to one big question. That ending omg so can't wait to get my hands on After Glow. Please Autumn never stop writing more Rock Hope and the rest of the Lost King family.

This is the tenth book in the wonderful Lost Kings MC series but part one of a new Rock and Hope update. And yes it ends of a bit of a hanger but no worries, if you’re a fan it won’t matter one iota!
Firstly I just have to say I loved the feel of this storyline and it didn’t need added drama thrown at it. No, this was day to day life in that of an MC and that of its President and first lady, Rock and Hope. It was great to catch up with the intimate details of Rock and Hope and seeing all their dreams materialising.
The MC went on a road trip to the Nationals so it was fab to see all the brothers and their interactions and support for each other especially Hope, out there on the road. I loved the banter and in house jokes between the brothers that had me laughing throughout the book. There were also some knuckle biting moments that had me on tenterhooks one moment then laughing my beam end off at others.
There were also some poignant and touching moments though, especially between Rock and Hope. I was glad to see their utter devotion to one and other had not waned in any way shape or form. These two are still dynamite together and their sexy time is still off the charts hot! There is another massive surprise that happens in this book that had me tearing up with joy. No spoilers though (but I saw it coming!)
It was great to catch up with the other couples as well and how their relationships had developed from previous books in the series. This was one great bundle of love, laughs and family that always pulls in the reader right in and makes them feel as if they are sat there in the corner observing everything in reality. The ending was a bit of a cliffy and yes there will be some drama coming from the results. Well I guess so but will have to wait to find out in the next instalment, After Glow. I forgot how good this series is.
It's a must to read the series in order as although it has a main story line per book or duet, the characters and couples build from book 1 on.
Rock is so loyal to his wife..
Really funny banter, ex drama.
No cheating.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
Breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series and updates of previous characters.
I would love to find out Dex story.
Something comes up that affects everyone and could rock the boat.
You will need to read the next book as it ends on a cliffhanger.
