The Sentinels #2

Ace: The Sentinels

Rate this book
Hit it and quit it!That seems to be the motto of the Sentinels MC, but Ace is convinced it's the only way for him to go. At 47, the scarred veteran isn't going to change his ways. He's a cold-hearted, bad-ass biker and the enforcer of the club. Women flock to him for bragging rights but Emerson, a sweet little bartender, wants more. And she sets out to show Ace what he can have with one woman who cares.

Excerpt - Emerson's POV "What-What happened to you?" I asked with concern. I knew the Sentinels were tough, dangerous men and capable of taking care of themselves, but it looked as if Ace had taken a good beating. He released me and held up a big hand, barely looking me in the eye. "I'm good." He made a move to go around me. "You're not good." I reached for his arm. "Ace, you're hurt." "Don't make it more than what it is, Emerson." He pulled away and went into the men's room. I stared after him and the door that he’d closed in my face. Why was he so stubborn? He'd obviously been in a fight. And he obviously didn't want my help. Well, that was just too damned bad. I dashed to where I knew we kept the first aid kit, grabbed it off the shelf, and went back to the restroom. I hesitated only briefly before pushing my way into the bathroom and finding him at the sink. He was in the process of wiping his face with a paper towel. "Get out," he grumbled. "No." I took a deep breath and stubbornly stepped closer. "Those cuts need more than water, they need to be cleaned." I forced my way between his hard body and the hard counter. "Now let me see." I brushed his hands away from his face. "Emerson," he growled in warning, glaring down at me with steel in his eyes, his jaw taut. I met his eyes squarely, not the least bit intimidated. "Suck it up, biker man," I ordered, not backing down. "I know you're a big, old, hard-ass, Ace, but even big boys occasionally need a tender touch." I opened up the first aid kit and pulled out the clean gauze and antiseptic. When I turned back to Ace I halted, suddenly realizing how close we were. I hardened my reserve, which meant ignoring the unexpected tingling in my nipples, to do what I needed to do. Besides, I'd decided to move on, right? As far as I knew, the feelings that I experienced when I was around Ace were totally one-sided. I poured antiseptic onto the gauze and reached up to clean the particularly nasty-looking cut on his cheek. "So, what happened?" I dabbed as gently as I could, wincing when I saw how deep the cut was. "You should probably get stitches." He just growled in response, standing there like an obstinate five-year-old who was being subjected to a fate worse than death. I felt a smile spread across my lips. "Poor baby." He growled some more. Once I was satisfied that the cut was as clean as I could get it, I poured the antiseptic directly into the wound. He sucked in his breath. My eyes shot up to his. "Sorry," I mumbled, reaching for the butterfly bandage, relieved that we had some. "If this doesn't work—" "I know, stitches." "Or we could try super glue," I smiled up at him. I glanced at his mouth, but the damage to it wasn’t what captivated me. Ace had a nice mouth; his lips were smooth and looked appetizing. Before I knew it, I was licking mine as if I were about to dive in to a tasty treat. Ace had never kissed me, and suddenly I wanted that more than anything. "Let's see what I can do to fix your kisser." I took his jaw in my hand and tilted his face slightly, examining it to find it swollen and with a split at the corner. "I think you'll still be able to use it." "I don't kiss."

I love MC romance stories and this one absolutely ranks high.
Ace, a 47yr old scarred veteran, is a hit it/quit it biker. The Sentinel MC Enforcer has to be tough and he is that. Emerson is a bartender at the club bar and has a huge crush oh the big man. She is no pushover and stands up to Ace once she's had enough of his BS. Reading the struggles they go thru is addictive. Rooting for them is a given.. This is a super love story, a bit riminiscent of Beauty and the Beast. ;) I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys MC hard biker meets his woman and tries to deny it books. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Excellent

I too preordered this and had the same problems, after deleting and downloading several times, I called Amazon and had them delete and resend and everything was fixed. Loved this installment. The Sentinels are dealing with a nasty MC creating havoc in Daytona. Also during this, Emerson is keeping secrets about a danger from her past hoping it won't catch up with her. Ace fights his attraction but finally falls hard. I enjoy all this author's work.

I’m a huge fan of this author and when I was given the opportunity to read it, I couldn’t put it down. I remember Ace from the first book and very happy to see he received his own story. Ace & Emerson’s story is raw, gritty and all kinds of dirty. The writing is very good, a little predictable in places but didn’t take away from reading. Can’t wait to see what she writes next! If you’re a reader of MC stories you will definitely want to add this to your list of must-reads!

Omg, I loved this story, it is hot, gritty and I couldn't put it down. Emerson is a bartender who has an attraction to the moody scarred love 'em and leave 'em Sentinels Enforcer, Ace. He tries his hardest to keep her at bay, but who's he kidding.

There is action too as another MC is causing problems and secrets as trouble from Emerson's past collide.

Wonderfully written and page turning addictive.

I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion

Ace, the older scarred, rugged and cold-hearted enforcer of the Sentinals MC, doesn’t have room in his icy heart for relationships. Emerson, with a traumatic past, works in the clubs bar, she has feelings for Ace, but he barely acknowledges her.

I devoured this book, it’s cram packed with action, danger, trauma, OW drama and rival club interference. A great age gap story, I can’t recommend enough.

For those who had a problem yesterday with your preorder the issue is now fixed. I re-downloaded ACE and the whole book is now there. After reading the first Sentinel novel I fell in love with the character Ace. Ms Richards did a wonderful job bringing him to life. I really enjoyed the story and the relationship of the characters. I’m excited to her future books!

rough, dirty and gritty but it is a sweet romance … the story is a bit cliched in places and pretty predicable but I love the writing style and really loved both of the main characters. Ruby and Tanner's story has remained a favourite and it is good to read on and see how their story has progressed.

What????

This book was excellent, kept my attention. However, I only gave it 3 stars because it ended in the middle of the story. I HATE cliffhangers! If the book would have continued, it would have probably gotten 5 stars. Hopefully the next part of the book will be out soon.

Ace and Emerson's book was so good. Ace is an Enforcer for the Sentinels and Emerson works at the MC's bar. This time, danger is not only coming from a rival MC, it also comes from from Emerson's past. I loved reading this book and in excited to read more.

There is a push and pull between Ace & Emerson. They want eachother, but he keeps denying it. What happens when Ace sees the light? Will there relationship be wrought with devestation?

This is a good series. It's different than most MC stories. It's dark, romantic, and this brotherhood follows the rules.

Twists and Turns!

Absolutely loved this book! This book grabbed me from the beginning and couldn’t put it down. Ace voided commitments and stuck to the hit it and quit it motto of most of the MC. Emerson would change all that. Definitely recommend this book and author.
