The second book in the Paranormal Protection Unit gets down and gritty with some extreme emotional upheaval at the beginning and them proceeds to heat the pages with a scorching hot romance. Maya and Quincy both are strong, vivid characters that reach out and grab readers’ attention as they discover that they are mates. But that discovery has reactions that are in no way typical, but with surprises, manipulations and a burning attraction go a long way toward pushing this relationship in the direction it needs to go.

The plot is fast paced and keeps readers glued to the pages with thrilling suspense, a nasty brother with evil intentions and some unexpected twists. The story is also full of magic and while disturbing a fitting magical conclusion the conflict that the nasty brother puts in motion and the romance also provides readers with an enjoyable and passionate romance. The story is well rounded and the author creates vivid imagery with her words making it easy for readers to become caught up in the story.

After meeting Skittles in book one I was more then ready to read this book just to see how things turn out for him. Well of course thanks to some higher power interference he has to fight and eventually throw away his mate bond as he cannot handle the extras but then there is a twist that gives him what he wants. Only Maya comes with so much more then he bargained for and it becomes a race to keep them both safe. The twists are intriguing and quite good once the book gets going. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

I am going, to be honest, I have try and try to get into this book. I thought if I waited to see what other said then maybe I could pick out what they are seeing. Yes, there is action, drama and Maya and Quincy are not bad characters and when they were trying to help Quincy come into his power was not bad at all. I just think for some reason this book was not my thing. That said there are parts I like and it was a good companion to the first book. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Is love enough?

While this is book two in the series, I didn't feel like I was lost having not read book one...a mistake I intend to remedy real quick. Maya and Quincy were both great characters with wonderful chemistry. Their road to a HEA will answer the question "Is love enough?". I'm not telling you the answer.

This is a well written book with an interesting story line. The author brings strong characters in Maya and Quincy , gives them a hot chemistry , but it's not a smooth journey ahead. The story is filled with drama , danger , magic , adventure and love. I enjoyed reading their story.

A really lovely paranormal romance - Quincy and Mara made me laugh - so tough, so determined, so fated to end up exactly where they did :-) The suspense and action in the book was great - and the ending a joy to read :-) Highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal romances as i do :-)

This romance has shifters but mostly centers around magic users. And the two bond-mates almost didn’t happen. But a goddess has her way of getting things going. Add in a murderous brother and things get a little dicey. I will say that at times the two get a very sappy. But that is romance for you.

Maya is a very likeable character if a little too hopeful. She pins her future on her mate who as it turns out doesn’t believe in love. That makes for a good character conflict. Quincy has had a hard life and I just wanted to hug him!

I really liked Maya & Quincy together. They are paired nicely together. The storyline had it all , drama, magic, intensity, emotional, sexy, and fun all rolled into one.
