Action Filled Adventure with A Man Out for Revenge

This is the second story involving a soldier who lives only for combat, and after working for a mercenary team who are all killed beside him he is intent on murdering the top man, the Handler.
David Rivers is our soldier, and he has to be admitted as part of a new team to get to his goal. Great scenes , awesome characters and inventive plots keep you riveted to the story from start to end.
Thankfully I get to keep reading to catch up on all books I have missed!!

Action, lots of military action and a detail level that shows the author knows what he is talking about. This is the second book of the David Rivers series and Rivers is a complex character. He has depression, a death wish, and will rush into any combat situation. He just doesn't care about his own safety.

He wrote a great scene that even surprised me. I just can't tell you what it is, it would ruin it. But I think you'll remember it too.

He always wraps up the story of the book, but then he leaves you hanging and anxious to read the next one. You don't have too, but I'd start with the first one.

As I said lots of action with a fearless character. Good read!

Now I'm starting to get into this series. Offer of Revenge by Jason Kasper is book two in the David Rivers series and they each take over where the last story ended. It turns out that this series is not what I expected and that's good. Kasper brings something new to the genre with his storyline and writing. I really recommend his books.

David's going on being suicidal... This time it involves trying to work as a messenger boy. A weird plane-jumping, gun-toting messenger boy, I give you that. Really, did they even cosider using FedEx? It could've been more efficient that all that unpleasantry.

Revenge - some of the best stories come from those who are pent up with rage because of the need for revenge! This book is exactly that, the second story of a young David Rivers after his team is massacred during a mission where he feels the urge, yet the need, to avenge their death and find the truth!
We all know him as "The Handler", the one few get to actually met, but the same one that is always watching and always giving the orders. David has one mission and one mission only... getting face to face with this individual. In order to do so, he has to get "in" with the office. David arranges meetings with Ian's help and is soon brought in for an interview that leads to a mission, selected for him and one other person to go and retrieve a case. On this mission, things do not go as expected, but David knows he has to survive if he ever wants a meeting with The Handler. A surprising, unfolding truth appears from the teammate that David is partnered with (Jais). And from there, David gets closer and closer to meeting the Handler.... but we have to wait until the next book to see where his mission truly ends!

Another fast-paced and action-packed book by Jason Kasper

One of the things that I really enjoyed about this book was the way that the author was able to create a sense of tension and suspense throughout the story. The plot is fast-paced and action-packed, and there are plenty of twists and turns that will keep readers guessing right up until the very end. The characters are also well-developed and believable, and I found myself really rooting for Jack and Sarah as they tried to take down the bad guys.

Another thing that I liked about Offer of Revenge was the way that the author was able to delve into the psychological effects of revenge and how it can drive a person to take drastic actions. Jack's need for revenge and his struggle to come to terms with his past were very poignant and gave the story a deeper level of meaning. Overall, I thought that this was a well-written and engaging thriller that fans of the genre will definitely enjoy.

In conclusion, Offer of Revenge by Jason Kasper is a thrilling and action-packed novel that will keep readers guessing until the very end. The characters are well-developed, the plot is fast-paced, and the story is both suspenseful and thought-provoking. If you're a fan of thrillers, then I highly recommend giving this book a read.

Wow, what a book! I really enjoyed the first story in this series, but this one was just as good. For an Action Thriller it has everything you want, a great tough guy character in David Rivers, an edgy and tense plot, which moves along at a good pace, and it easily held my attention through to the end. Jason Kasper certainly has a talent for writing Action Thrillers.
Really the only thing on David Rivers mind is seeking revenge on ‘The Handler’, as he was ultimately responsible for ‘Karmas’ death, and those of his team mates. If the Handler hadn’t double crossed David and his team on their last assignment, then he and Karma might have had the chance at a relationship together. Now with the help of Ian, David is going to do everything he can to get close enough to the Handler to make him pay. It’s definitely not going to be easy though, as David took off into hiding, when his team members were murdered. Now he has to find a way back in, and he knows from experience that the man he is hunting down is certainly a dangerous adversary. I enjoyed the first two books in this series so much so, that I finished them both in just two days. Hands down both books are fabulous, and well worth adding to your reading list.

Damn this was a fun read! I continue to be impressed by Kasper's ability to make seemingly impossible action scenes come together. I burned through this book in a single sitting - literally couldn't put it down. (Sorry about my performance at work the next day boss.) David Rivers's journey continues to fascinate me. All professional soldiers have had their brushes with The Dark, but Kasper captures what it feels like better than anyone else I've ever read. Meanwhile, he shows that despite those crazy messed-up emotions it's possible to persevere through any situation life throws at you. From the mundane to the truly messed-up, the grit the military instills can carry you through and David Rivers embodies that grit. More than anything else though - the action scenes make this novel unputdownable. There's less BASE jumping and more gunfighting (somehow!) than the author's first book. As both a recreational skydiver and a competitive marksman I can tell you that Kasper nails the feel of both. Hell, I'd say he nails everything in this one. Must-read, period.

The second book in the David Rivers series, Offer of Revenge, picks up where the inaugural novel, Greatest Enemy, left off. Rivers is hurting, having lost his entire team, as well as Karma, the woman he had started to fall for. Hell-bent on revenge, Rivers sets his sights on The Handler, a mysterious figure in the criminal underworld.

The book is solid, but I did dock a star because I felt it could have used more than a single operation. The previous book felt like a complete book from start to finish, whereas when I finished this book, I felt like there should have been more book where it concluded.

While it's a somewhat considerable gripe, Offer of Revenge still possess everything else that Greatest Enemy did: crisp action, high-level intrigue, and some of the best dialogue I've seen in quite some time. I'm definitely looking forward to the next entry in the series.

Just finished Offer of revenge by Jason Kasper and I have to say He is an artist, Why because He makes his characters come alive as you read his books and the description of each person and what takes place from not just the physical but the emotional thoughts and how they are the proper and guardian of those they love and believe in makes for a amazing read that you have to find out what happens and yet you don't want it to be over.I highly recommend this book as well as all of his books as they take you to an action filled adventure all the way though. Thank you Jason, I love being in your wonder world of excitement and aventure.

Really good, short, but good.

I enjoyed book 2 with the main character continued hardly missing a beat from book one. The story keeps you wondering what will happen in the action scenes keep you engaged where pages fly by. The book was short like a novella but the stories really engaging the weapons and the combat is well described and you really feel part of the action. I think I'd like this story because it's an antihero and it's got some really dark scenes in it but none more than the main character who has a deep depression and dark demons surround his waking moments. It's a hard trope to pull off and the story does a good job! I look forward to reading book three.

After recognizing the depth of the emotional attachment of book 1 in the series it was much easier to follow David Rivers through his plot, and recognize so much of his past was vengeance driven. I found myself trying to form the teams he would eventually be a part of, such as the Team member Ian. However, I’m still not sure if there is going to be any connection. I recognize much of the “feelings” are not that far removed from PTSD Type of emotions. The association of his father in his past was important and contribute considerably to who he is and how he thinks and what he believes. Still good reading, just a bit different twist. VR, Mags

Action, and introspection

Kasper proves that he is the “real deal” by adding a look into David Rivers’ Ranger mind. With details like a psyche eval and the echoes in Rivers head we get a view into a person “who never hunted an animal, but has hunted people since he was 19.” Sure, the story has good guys and bad guys and action and mind games. Another fun read. (JK: Thanks again brother. By the way... The psych eval, smells, ears ringing, sleep, alcohol, relationships... You crushed it. RLTW)

Awesomely gripping

I liked the first book, but this second David Rivers thriller was even better. Gripping almost from end to end as we first delve into the tortured mind of the main character, then into action over action, which span the months following the end of the first book.

I got to say that I didn’t expect the traitor to be who it was. Not one bit. That was a master stroke.

My only negative point? The overly long chapters, which sometimes slowed the flow of the action. But that’s minor, as the book was absolutely fantastic.

Impressive!

Offer of Revenge is Book 2 of the American Mercenary series. It is definitely meant to be read in order.

I found this book to be incredibly impressive. The writing, development, characters and just everything is engaging and well done. The action and combat scenes are non-stop and eerily real.

I would highly recommend this book for any adult due to mature content. I'm absolutely continuing this series!

No real closure

I was waiting for a end scene like that in the first book. It was definitely good, but it seems like a set up for the last book and that’s just ok. A little slower in times than the first one, but it does make you want to get the last book right away so he did that well. Overall it was just average in my opinion.

Awesome Book and series. Already waiting on the next one.

Avner was an excellent and quick read. I enjoyed the realism, techniques, and represented mentalities. Truly an enjoyable series for those missing the action.

A great story of double cross and intrigue

A well written web of deceit with multiple mysteries and subplots. I was not sure of the outcome, even after reading the last sentence. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Not even close…

This book was nothing like the first. The author seem to be writing a script. The tiresome dream scenes were monotonous. So much of this book was like reading an essay a middle school kid wrote

The second book hooks you

This book is the second in this series and it hooks you. I couldn’t put it down so I added the audiobook to get through t find out who the handler was. By the end of this book I realized that the handler was playing these people like a chessboard.

Since I didn't read the first book - but I think he kept bringing up the storyline - I feel I don't need to.
Would have given a five except I like to read a book that has an ending, instead of reading the next book to get the ending and regurgitating the previous one.

Though I knew it was a series, I was expecting an end in this so called action thriller novel called Offer of Revenge by Jason Kasper, but was greatly disappointed. This is definitely an overrated book and I DO NOT plan to read the sequel. Waste of time and money. Pls avoid.

Interesting series

The character is young and developing. Other mercenary type books I’ve read have older former military characters, so this is an interesting twist. I am two books in and curious enough to try the third… David (main character) is both likable and gritty.
