Lucifer's Star

Demon Blood #1

by Kira Moericke

All Kinsley Adams ever wanted was to find her father and have golden boy, Joshua Stone, actually notice her for once. On her seventeenth birthday, it all comes true, but it's nothing like Kinsley expected. Dark family secrets start to reveal themselves, and soon, Kinsley is faced with the fact that her father is a demon. He dwells in the pits of Hell, waiting for the day that he can bring her down with him so that she may be branded with Lucifer's Star - a symbol of devotion and the key to bringing out her power. But Joshua won't let that happen. As a descendant of the original Fallen, he will do anything in his power to save Kinsley from the darkness in hopes of winning her redemption. But will his angelic power be enough? Or has the darkness already won?

I read this book in a week! It was hard to put down. I usually prefer books with more romance but I found I really enjoyed the world building in this book. I’d love to see more context in the second one so I’m looking forward to that book now.

I wrote it, so obviously I'm giving it five stars.
