An anthology of stories from creators old and new, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Tank Girl!
Cult favorite comic discussed in the hit Netflix show Sex Education
A full-barrelled blast of Tank Girl, celebrating thirty astounding years! In this 30th Anniversary anthology, thrill to a tankload of unmissable, unforgettable, all-new tales, written by series co-creator Alan Martin, with artwork by a host of Tank Girl stalwarts and super-stars, including Brett Parson, Chris Wahl, Jim Mahfood, Greg Staples, Warwick Johnson-Cadwell, Jonathan Edwards and more friends from throughout Tank Girl's chequered 30 year lifetime!
She may not have the pop cultural heft of her heyday, but Tank Girl's never gone away, as witness this celebration of three decades of punky shenanigans. Alan Martin is still writing, with Jamie Hewlett contributing; other artists include those who came from the same milieu (the great Philip Bond), alongside those from further afield (Jim Mahfood, Greg Staples). A few of the stories attempt some manner of reckoning with what it means for a character so associated with youthful irreverence to have reached middle age, if only off the page; most of them know that if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and concentrate more on mucky jokes and stuff blowing up. I've noted before how the review quotes chosen for the cover of comics collections can often be incredibly unhelpful, but in this instance you can learn a lot from the fact that one of the three they went with was "Like Mahfood, Wahl does a very nice arse."
