ZAK Being with Ellie is easy. She’s fiery, brilliant, gorgeous and knows her way around an engine. I knew the moment I saw her, fire flashing in her green eyes, that she was it for me. We fit together perfectly, her outspoken nature complementing my reserved one. I’ve never been so at peace, so absolutely content. There’s only one thing that could ruin it all, my past. There are things I haven’t told her, things she needs to know. But I’m not the only one who’s been keeping secrets, and it’s all about to surface in the worst possible way. I can’t loose her, not when I only just got her. Protecting people is what I do, it’s more than my job, it’s my sole purpose in life. It’s why I joined the military then became a bodyguard. The man threatening what’s mine obviously doesn’t value his own life, because nobody messes with my family and walks away unscathed.
JB Heller is an average Aussie housewife and Mumma in her early 30's. She lives on a mini farm with her family and a few cows, sheep, a parrot, cats, fish, dogs, and a butt load of chickens. It's JB's dream to one day add a llama to the mix and an alpaca or two.
She writes across several genre's including RomCom, Romantic Suspense and Contemporary. You can always expect a healthy dose of heat, intrigue and wit in her stories.
Monday to Friday you can find JB glued to her laptop weaving words or trolling Pinterest for her next potential muse. Come the weekend, it's family time. (And of course lots of reading and Netflix binges.)
I was smiling because you make me happy, you crazy little gremlin. That’s all… Can’t a man enjoy your company without it being creepy?
“No swearing near her,” I snap. “Her brain is like a sponge. She’ll remember that shit.” Paco glares at me, “You just said shit.” A frown creases my brows. “I’m workin’ on it.”
My Review:
I am conflicted in how to rate this one; it was a mixed bag for me. I enjoyed the first half of the book which was equal parts humor, sizzle, and angst while delving into the blossoming relationship of Zak and Ellie, a feisty pint-sized female mechanic who was an apparent turd magnet with an unpleasant relationship history and alarmingly poor taste in men. It was no wonder Ellie was questioning her good fortune and a bit distrustful in hitting the jackpot with Zak, her current love interest, who had been outstandingly patient with her smart mouth, quick temper, and outlandish antics and was exceptionally gentle with her despite his large size. Zak was extremely thoughtful had a complicated history and a large, tender, and generous heart. Midway through the storyline changed and became increasing more convoluted and difficult to follow until it skidded off the rails into OTT land and I was approaching DNF territory. I stuck with it out of curiosity and was rewarded with a return to the lighter tones of levity and steam before ending in a satisfying HEA.
I liked Ellie in book 1 but I was very disappointed in her in this book.
I don’t actually mind when hero really do see his best friend as sister but to sleep with said “sister/best friend” and he confuses the supposed sister love that he has for her for real love that’s what gets me pissed off.
This hero was really heartbroken that she died. I mean really heartbroken you would think that it was the heroine who had died! He also calls this OW and tells her that he loves her. This is the same woman who he thought he was in love with before he met the heroine who btw after he saw the heroine he bécame smitten with her. So I’m asking myself here who’s the real second best in this story the supposed “sister” or the heroine? I’ll tell you who? I felt like the heroine was his second best. That’s not all, turns out his amazing best friend turned out to be pregnant! So now the heroine has to raise a child that it’s not hers but the hero and this OW. A child from a woman the hero thought he was so much in love with! The woman who the hero is grieving hard for. In all of this the heroine continued being supportive of him, she was even supportive when she finds the truth about hero’s love for this OW and how hero slept with her.
this was 2 months before the book starts, 6 months after he meets the heroine. So yes I do have a problem with it. And really i just find it disturbing that hero sees this ow as his sister but he sleeps with her and he even thinks that he’s in love with her. What does is it say about him? I don’t even want to think what he would do with his real sister.
“Nothing in this world could come between me and Lu, not even you.” “We were everything to each other for a long fucking time.”
This was when her boyfriend finds out that she’s died and hero told him this. So this mean that not even the heroine couldn’t had come between them.
When the feisty redhead Ellie almost tackled alpha big man Zak after discovering what happened to her friend Kalista, I knew this woman was for keeps. She kept Zak on his feet and provided all the right ingredients to make their story quite endearing and pleasant to read. I can't stop admiring her for her guts, passion and resiliency when the going gets tough. Ellie is such a force worth adoring.
Zak and the other Alpha One hotties are equally protective and defensive in their own ways. But when Zak got into a particularly tragic predicament, that's when he got really solicitous and attentive to the needs of the people he loved. A baby that's quite unexpected entered the picture, but that little bundle of joy surely made this story even more interesting to read.
Reading this from start to finish is definitely worth the wait! JB Heller's quite a storyteller! I loved that it had the element of surprise, and the chemistry was intense and hot. Unfortunately, I cannot compare it to the previous book in the series because I wasn't able to read it, but basing on the giddiness I felt after perusing the pages, I know this deserved two thumbs up!
This book was definitely WORTH THE WAIT, I loved every moment of this book and all the people that was throughout it. This book was extremely well written and it flowed really well and was easy to follow, This is definitely the quality of writing you expect from this author.
Ellie was definitely what you expected after the glimpses you got about her from worth the risk she definitely lived up to her personality, Ellie's nature stood strong through this book and she was an absolute pleasure to read.
Zak was a strong Alpha type Man who you definitely got more of an indepth look into throughout the book and was an amazing soul to read about, I wont give any of Zac away but just know he is the type of man who will touch your heart and soul.
I would definitely recommend this book and author to anyone who loves a soul touching book that you can immerse yourself in and get emmersed within all the lives of the charecters and lose yourself to them, I will definitely say it again and again how amazing this series is and all the books this author writes. Everything she writes is golden and an absolute pleasure to read. I honestly hope you love this book as much as I have. Happy Reading ♡
OH MY GOODNESS!!! Where do I start? I loved every part, every word, every piece of this book. I have only ever cried once in my reading history but this book got me, I cried twice!! Once from sadness and once from relief and being so overjoyed!! I have been through every living emotion whilst staying up all night hooked on reading it to the last. I was happy, angry, sad, hot and bothered, overjoyed and in awe of all things Zak and Ellie. Two beautiful and individually strong people that have found each other and become even stronger with the bond they share. Together they can, will and do, take on anything the world can throw at them. This book has rocketed to sit tied for first place, in the best book I have ever read! Worth the Wait, was by name and by nature, worth the wait. I cannot wait to see whats next for J.B. Heller.
This book definitely was worth the wait From the very first page i was hooked My emotions were all over the place while reading at one point it made me cry. Zak and ellie had such a beautiful connection the chemistry was unreal, this book was beautifully written I would definitely recommend this book and author to anyone who loves a soul touching book then this ones for you ladies loved it
We met Ellie, Kallie’s best friend, and Zak, who works with and for Abe in his security and protection business, in book one and got to know them a little bit. Ellie is a firecracker for sure and Zak stabilises her incredibly well. But in this book we really get to know them and you can’t help but love them both!
Oh these two lead characters are just so wonderful, I can’t say anywhere near enough about them. They are constantly showing more facets of their natures as the story progresses and you keep falling in love with both more and more. Add in extra special touches that are adorable and your heart melts. What I like the most is that the characters are very real.
This is a fast paced, easy to read story with a very solid storyline. The romance is delightful but not without its issues too. There is a sprinkling of fun humour throughout that tickles the fancy as well. But when the action picks up pace so does your heartbeat! Talk about waiting with baited breathe!
I thoroughly enjoyed Worth The Wait and look forward the next book about Alec.
Worth the Wait - Alpha One Protection by J B Heller ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book #2 in the Alpha One Protection Series was just as exhilarating at the first book in the series. After a hair raising ride with Abe and Kalista in Worth The Risk, Zak and Ellie finally get their story and it’s a fabulous one.
Their story picks up at the end of Book one but Zak and Ellie are placed in a completely new set of circumstances that will keep you riveted to your kindle. They have fallen hard for each other but battle their own demons from their pasts.
The Alpha One boys are their usual no nonsense selves and definitely have Zak and Ellie’s back when everything turns sour for them and the team have to take action against a crazed drug dealer.
Definitely a great series if you love action, intrigue, love, lust and down right seriously sexy Alpha men and feisty women in your stories. JB Heller nails ever one of these in this series.
Wow! This book left me breathless. This book went above and beyond my expectations. From the first word to the last word I was hooked. My emotions were all over the place. My heart hurt for all of them. Zak and Ellie has such a strong connection and that chemistry they had jumped out of the book and I felt the electricity. I love that both characters are strong and stuck together no matter what was thrown their way. Oh Ellie I just loved everything about that girl. The spunk and the feistiness that she had made me laugh. This book made me feel like I was a part of their world. I love a book that can take me out of reality and this book did just that. Phenomenal writing and the characters were perfect. Absolutely amazing.
I voluntarily read this as an advanced readers copy.
You know a book is good when you have to text a fellow reader in the wee hours of the morning. Worth the Wait consumed me. What started as a relaxing day reading turned into a binge session until I could read every last word J.B. wrote.
Zak and Ellie are one of my favourite couples EVER! This story brought these two through so much that your heart may have a hard time keeping up. If you are looking for a book with all the feels and more, Worth the Wait is for you.
JB Heller you played this book out beautifully. Worth the Wait is worth all the stars!!
Absolutely loved this story and it was worth the wait. The characters are fantastic and the storyline was gripping and written where I was sucked in from the beginning and could not stop until the end. Ellie is such a strong willed and powerful character I instantly connected with. Zak is certainly an alpha who just cannot help but want to control everything and everyone he comes in contact with. What a pair these two make and due to their tenacity and personalities can conquer anything thrown at them. My emotions were definitely all over the place in this story. What a ride and I cannot wait for more.
This book needs to be on your must read of 2018 list!
Worth The Wait is the latest instalment from the talented mind of JB Heller, and it was definitely worth the wait. In true JB Heller fashion, this story has a full emotional roller coaster with twists you’d never see coming.
I loved every second of Zak and Ellie’s story and was completely captivated from the very first page and couldn’t put it down.
Loved, loved, Loved it! Like the title says it was definitely worth the wait. Zac and Ellie are both strong characters that compliment each other perfectly. This book has you going through a full range of emotions and then leaves you wanting more. Worth the wait is a beautifully written book and I cannot wait for the next instalment in this series.
I LOVED this book Zak and Ellie’s story is epic. Once again JB Heller puts everything I love in books, into her books. Love, a bit of suspense, some drama, awesome characters and some hotness thrown in. You need to read this book.
Zac and Ellie's story is really enjoyable. It's fast paced, full of action, and has a few twists! Add the attraction factor, humour and their definite spark and you're onto a great read!
I absolutely loved this book and how the story of Zac and Ellie follows on from The Alpha One #1. As alway JB Heller doesn’t disappoint with the attraction and lust between the characters. Can’t wait for more
Ellie is worried that if she has sex with Zac that he will dump her like every other guy has. As much as her friend tries to convince her that he won’t Ellie is terrified he will she loves him, and it would destroy her, but she decides it time to find out and lets him know to pick her up after work. After spending the day with a client flirting with him, Zac can’t wait to see his Red, and when he gets there she lets him know she’s ready, but he notices something is up, he lets her know he hasn’t been waiting for her, he will know when she’s ready, he has his own reasons for holding back that she doesn’t know yet. They take things further than they have before and Ellie falls asleep and wakes to hear him on the phone to his friend Lu. Zac knows Ellie is mad and tries his best to explain he never loved her, more than a familial love. That’s when Ellie understands, Zac didn’t know what love really was and she can’t wait any longer to let him know she loves him. Zac gets a phone call that could change everything for them, Zac never knew what love was but now he does is it going to get taken away from him.
Zak and Ellie were introduced to us in Worth the Risk and I got to say she is still as feisty as ever. Zak and Ellie started their relationship in the first book of this series, so we start in this book six months later into it. Zak is such a sweetheart and when he is with Ellie, he can’t help but be all that she needs. Ellie has been burned one to many times by men and being with Zak is a new experience for her. They are both living in a bubble until a call from Zak’s past comes into the picture. Their world is rocked with the news and it’s nothing short of some drama and suspense to pull you in. In the beginning there was not action only Zak and Ellie showing us their relationship. So, it didn’t quite pull me in until that phone call that Zak’s get. Ellie, I like her she is funny, sarcastic and feisty. Sometimes she can be a bit dramatic which I do not like about her. Zak seems to mellow her out a bit and he was just what she needed all along. Their chemistry is hot, and their love is intense. It’s a quick read but I wanted so much more on this because there really wasn’t any backstory to Ellie. We got a backstory on Zak, but Ellie is just a mystery to me. I love the family vibe and the friendships that make you want to sigh with how close everyone is. I like the book but there could have been so much more to them that it was just missing something.
Ellie a Zak both have had a painful past, both scared to open up risking their heart. Ellie is a little redheaded who Zak calls Red. A fiery little smart mouthed firecracker who works as a mechanic. Zak a man who grew up in foster care after the death of his parents, who works with Abe in the security business find themselves falling for each other, however they both have problems, betrayal and feel unworthy and fear that threaten to keep them apart including Lu Sanchez someone from Zak's past and she has Ellie feeling rattled and unsure of his real feelings for her. Both have their lives turned inside out, with just one phone call about Lu Sanchez has Zak running to her side. This is one story that has so many emotional twists anger betrayal and shocking twists, what an extraordinary story about two strong characters that have you captivated and wanting more.
Worth the Wait is the second installment in the Alpha One Protection series. I loved every moment of this, there is plenty of suspense, action, angst, drama and love. Zac and Ellie have been together for 6months now and as they get closer they have things in their pasts that they need to tell eachother before they can move forward in their relationship. Ellie is a firey, smart-mouthed woman who is also is a little insecure when it comes to relationships, as she has been hurt in the past. Zac is an Alpha male who protects what is his, he is loyal and willing to wait for Ellie to be ready for him. I love the relationship between Zac and Ellie, it is full of chemistry, passion and love. I am looking forward to the next book in the Alpha One Protection series.
Ellie is feisty, fiery and she has an energy that draws people to her. Zak prefers to observe rather than be the center of attention, but he is the one you can always count on and will protect anyone without a second thought.
We originally met them in Worth the Wait but getting to know them over the course of the book only makes you love them more. They are so good together, but will the secrets of their pasts destroy what they could have together?
The author has managed to combine romance, action and humor into a story you won’t be able to put down.
What a great story as always from JB Heller and it was completely worth the wait. It was action packed and filled with emotion.
This was Zac and Ellie’s story who we briefly met in the first book, Worth the Risk. Zak is a loyal alpha male and Ellie is a little firecracker that share hurtful pasts and are scared to let themselves fall. As their story progresses, they slowly learn to trust in each other and themselves and will eventually have their happily ever after. I loved their journey and am positive you will too.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is book two in the series and was definitely worth the wait. Ellie aka Red is a spitfire redhead with the attitude to match. She hasn't had the best of luck with relationships. So she is being extra careful with Zak and trying to keep her heart guarded. This book has a huge twist that I didn't see coming. It was amazing. I loved this book and can't wait for more.
Worth the Wait was a great read! I loved Ellie in the first book and was so happy she’s the heroine in this book. This story grabbed me from the first page and didn’t let go until the end. This is a wild ride. Ellie and Zak have to deal with so many obstacles they have to overcome. But these obstacles only make them stronger and their bond greater. I loved this book and cannot wait to see what’s next from this author.
If you are looking for a light read that hits on all the romance stops then this is the book for you. It is very light on the angst and you know it is going to be a happy ending. It has a no-nonsense h and an alpha H. There are tricky situations and miscommunication that could have lead to the romantic demise; in fact, I would have liked to have read in more depth on those situations. This book was up and done a smidge to quick for me.

This was such a good read. Loved the chemistry between all the characters! Elle and Zak were so good together! Sexy, sweet with just right amount of heat! Love the quick wit in this book. I found myself laughing out loud one minute and tearing up the next! Great quick Sunday read!
Wow ...what an emotional and beautiful story. When we knew that these two would become an item in the first book I knew it would be good. I just never saw this coming. It was an inspired storyline. Well written and kept me hooked from the first page to the last. Great job. Highly recommend this book and author.
Worth the wait.... wow.... how do I put it into words for you???
It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me want to protect (being a mumma myself) and it made me want to go crazy on the boyfriends arse. #StupidPaco
I absolutely love Zak and Ellie’s story and I couldn’t have worded it better myself. ❤️❤️
