Rate this book

Vocês vão me agradecer." - Darrin Zeer

Picked this up at my Yoga Studio to keep at the office. It's a handy text full of quaint illustrations-- that do reasonable justice to the text, which is thorough and peppy. Includes tips for things to do at home to start your relaxed day off right, including a smoothie recipe idea, and stretches to do in bed and after rising. Basic stretches set up for standing and sitting; grouped by topic-- things to do while on the phone, to do while waiting for your computer to log in/boot up. I'll keep this on-hand both for myself and to loan to co-workers!

This is a quick guide for desk rats everywhere, whether you're stuck in a cubicle farm or scribbling away in a garret (or both). It has stretches, poses, positions and basic yoga exercises that you can do throughout the day to improve your energy and focus.

This is great for little stretches and tips on getting yourself focused and calm when you are at work. Aside from common sense tips like drink more water and take a walk at lunchtime, there are easy yoga poses you can do at your desk. While I won't be doing cobra pose on the floor of my office in the children's library, I can do some of the twist stretches or simple leg stretches or breathing exercises to retain my focus and calm on rough days.

Picked this up at a thrift shop recently and it looked like a neat little read since I'm sometimes stuck at my desk all day. This is a quick and easy book for getting some extra movement in while you're deskbound. Most of the stretches are easy to do in your office or common space. Very handy book to keep at my desk for those long paperwork days!

Published in 2000, this book is as relevant as ever. It describes key yoga poses in clear language and pictures in combinations which have been categorised for different situations. There are also life tips to help you holistically. Looking forward to trying some of the combinations!

It was ok, but the name of the book is misleading. It includes stretches when at home, morning, afternoon etc. That wouldnt be a bad thing, but I was looking forward to a book that was full of stretches that I could do at my desk without looking like a moron. Since I sit with other people close by, I'm not going to get up and put my leg on the desk and stretch, nor will I squat and stretch, and I wont go over the photocopier and practically moon everyone around. There are actually exercises that say that you can lie on the ground and prop your legs up against the wall, and during lunch, you can change into your sweats and to the cobra pose. Um, I dont know what workplace these people work in, but I'm NOT going to lie on my germ infested groud with my legs up in the air. I think that pretty much can qualify as sexual harassment!

There is one chapter that deals with specifically desk work, which is a good chapter, but it doesnt really tech me any new form of stretch, merely reinforces what I already know. There is an overall calming tone of the book and though some exercises arent as descriptive as I would like e.g. "stretch your arms out" (to where? front of me? side? palms up? down?), I dont hate it. The illustrations are quite nice too and I think I prefer this rather than seeing actual people.

Also, sort of a waste for a Kindle book. Quite often, one quote will take up an entire page. Plus using it as a reference, I think flipping through a physical book

Would have given 2.5 stars but not an option.

Daftar Isi:
Pembuka Mata di Pagi Hari
Relaksasi di Meja Kerja
Hiburan Saat Makan Siang
Penyegaran Saat Senja
Penyeimbang Saat Malam

Good ideas for stretches, both at work and at home. I'm less likely to get down on the floor at work to stretch, but some of the poses would make good at-home study break stretches.

Lots of helpful tips for the workaholic. And I plan to use them...if I can remember to do so in the heat of the moment. Thanks for recommending, Sandy :)

Not a great book. Pictures are a little too cute for my taste. Very quick read and somewhat useful for a Yoga teacher planning a talk to office workers.
