I'm sitting here trying to figure out exactly what I want to put in this review. This book has EVERYTHING in it. I laughed and I cried not just a few tears, but big fat tears that turned into an ugly cry. You also have a wicked sense of humor and had me laughing my ass off at the antics the girl crew gets into. The emotions are so well written, that you feel what the characters feel. With all of this being said I highly recommend this book.
The closeness of the MC and the way once you are in you are family is amazing. Axl and Dana were both born into the life. There childhoods were extremely different, but they know how important family is. If you have read Betting On Forever then you got to see the banter and the beginning of their lives together. Axl being the laid back funny guy knows what he wants and who he wants it from. Dana has a hard time letting anyone in. Her past has proven to her that those you let in leave it just don't have it in them to care. They have not only their own hurdles to get through, but also a few they have together. Once they get past them the love and life they have together is AMAZING.
Scarlett you did it again. I loved it even though at 1 point you were not my favorite person. You redeemed yourself and I am looking forward to see how everybody else's stories unravel.

Let's start off my saying that I am really loving this series so far.The girl's of the club and old ladies were such a hoot I laughed out loud through the entire story.I am loving all the character's especially the dads!
From the moment I started reading this story I was hooked.The first book in this series had Axl playing a bit of a cat and mouse game but, in this story things heat up quite a bit. Axl is finally taking what he wants! Dana is claimed even if she is still getting used to the idea.
Book Quote- “Does my princess’ pussy need her king to take care of her?”“Yes.”
Omg ! This couple is HOT HOT HOT !
Funniest moment for me was Vegas teasing Axl about popping so many of Dana's cherries... you had to be there but, you will understand lol. "Just hilarious !"
Some of my other favorite characters are Snake- Dana's Dad ,Fuego- Vegas's Dad,Blade ,Vegas,and we gotta lover Tugger-Vegas's dog.
The drama in the club is now in full force and it just upped its game and becomes even more dangerous for all of them.This is just one step in the right direction about taking care of the death treats against the club as well as the girls.
The suspense had us sitting on the seat of our pants wondering what's next. Omg! the snakes and traitors are coming out of the woodwork like termites. Omg! things just got more intense !
Dana has trust issues due to a crappy family life growing up.Dana's and Axl courtship was anything but smooth due to both of them having insecurities. But, guess what? that spells out lots and lots of make up sex. lol "Holy Hotness!"
I loved being on Axl and Dana's journey as it was not an easy ride and a lot of pain but, loving one another and placing your trust in each other might give them both what they strive for both out of life.
The story gripped you emotionally.I really loved it from cover to cover.The characters were fun ,engaging,some serious and others funny.You felt the love that was in this club all around you all the time.I really loved this about this story.
The story also had some amazing characters,had amazing couples,amazing friends but, we have to give a shout-out to Fuego and his life lessons but also the love he has for his family.Vegas is the bomb! OMG! I do nothing but laugh when she is around....
Found Dana to be loving, kind, funny and "God did she make me laugh often."
Found Axl to be dark,dangerous, a bit of a jokester,funny,serious,possessive and sexy as heck.
We loved everything about the story and we are looking forward to the next in the series.

Scarlett Black lives in a small town in Northern Nevada. She has three kids a husband and a couple of dogs. She loves to watch baseball, especially when her kids or husband play. HOLY HELL!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my first reaction at the end of the book. I was like holy hell no that did not just happen bawhahaha. I thought I loved Betting On Forever but I LOVED LOVED Nothing Lasts Forever.
This is Axl and Dana's story and oh what a story it is. Dana has decided she is done with guys. No more relationships because they cause heartache and pain. That is until she meets Axl the VP of The Battle Born MC. Lord is he funny and cocky and arrogant all wrapped up into one sexy as hell package.
Things are going good between Dana and Axl when Axl is dealt a blow to his family and he spirals down deep into the deepest darkness there is. Dana tries to help him out but he is not having any of it. He is determined to drink himself to death and deal with club business. Then something happens to the club and Axl is shocked into reality and he finally realizes that Dana needs him. Time and love can heal all wounds but will they heal Axl in time or will he lose Dana for good?

This is book 2 in this series and you could probably read it as a stand alone, but don't and this why; 1.) Do NOT deprive yourself the pleasure of getting to know Blade, Vegas, Jenn, Dana, James, Tank, Axl, and so many wonderful characters. 2.) Book 1 has a GREAT story and explain some of the little things about book 2. 3.) Book 1 has the story about Johnny, Tanya, and Cc's fate.
Oh my gosh this book is just awesome, it is somehow better than book 1, make because I absolutely adore Axl. The Battleborn MC are a group of hard core men that murder, steal, and have public sex. They also are giant teddy bears around the woman they decide they want to be their "Ol' Lady". I really like seeing the duality of these men and this author writes it extremely well. This one even made me cry! I am super excited for the next book, but I just don't see how it can get better than this!

This is Axle and Dana's book. Growing up in the MC wasn't always happy for Dana. Nobody's family is perfect but it's who you bring in to be your family is what got her through.... her two best friends, Vegas and Jenn are more like sisters. They get up to things as teens and even more as adults.
For Axel growing up in the MC was great. He had the best Mom and Dad and best friends. His Dad was more of a best friend who loves to live his life to the fullest.
We learned in the earlier books that Axel and Blade now run one of the clubs that had a bad president and they are still cleaning up his mess in this book. Axel as soon as he met Dana he knew he had to have her but her past made her not trust him but he never gave up until he had her until he loses someone very important to him and he shuts her down and takes off. What's going to happen with the mess the club is in and him walking out on the love of his life? Can she ever learn to trust again?

Really loved Nothing Lasts Forever it's book two in the Battle Born series and can be read as a standalone but highly recommend Betting on forever you may run into some minor spoilers in this one because some events do take place through the eyes of Axl and Dana . So loved how the author had Axl and Dana so unique and different plus the way it is found out just WOW . The couple has off the charts chemistry and with the way they connect with the banter that can also be a bit of foreplay . Axl is just hilarious love love love him with some of the things he does and the little shenanigans he creates . Dana is amazing she fits perfectly with the hero and tries to one up him in the pranks she has a backbone and looks out for her friends . I'm looking forward to the next book in the Battle born series would have loved to see an other couple but looking forward to what's to come .

Dana did not have an easy childhood. Her parents split up, her mother died of an overdose, and despite her father's new relationship being with a great companion, who is a beloved stepmother, all the abandonment she suffered as a child turned her into a rebellious teenager. This teenager has become a successful woman, who does not trust people or relationships.
Axl is VP of Battle Born MC in Reno. Unlike Dana, although raised inside a motorcycle club, he had great parents, whose relationship is an example for him to this day. His mother is a former model and his father is VP of the chapter of Battle Born MC in Las Vegas. And everything was quiet in his life, until he decided to taste a certain cherry pie.
The chemistry between the characters is obvious from the first book in the series. Several scenes of the flirtation between Axl and Dana are funny. Axl knows what he wants, although he tries to show Dana that he can be much more than just the rude biker. He wants to be her everything. The protagonist takes a while to accept Axl's affection. For her, everyone we love will one day leave us. And her greatest fear is to be abandoned again.
From laughter to tears, prepare yourself for a roller coaster of emotions. There are moments of pure fun in the narrative, but in some events in the characters' lives, the way the author describes the pain, despair and emptiness in the characters' emotions will be able to destroy, crush your heart.
A book with emotion, strong scenes but also humor and tenderness. With events and revelations that makes the narrative engaging and the experience of reading unforgettable.

WOW, this is the first word that come to my mind after reading this awesome book !!
This time, we spend all the book with Axl and Dana, and i loved how their relationship evolved during the story, from Chapter to the end of the book !!
This book is definitely my favorite one, the 1st book was awesome but this time the author amazed me with this one !!
With this book the author brought me to a higher level than book 1 !! Each chapter i couldn't stop my reading and needed to know what was going to happen to the characters and OMG it was like being on a rollercoaster, when you think you can't go higher, well you're wrong, because it bring you to another level and wow honestly the author fulfill all my expectations and much more !! Now the only thing i can't think it's book 3 and what will happen to all the characters in the next book !!

Dans ce tome, nous retrouvons Axl et Dana que nous découvrons tout au long de l'histoire et j'ai adoré, les voir évoluer tout au long de ce tome, du chapitre 1 jusqu'à la fin !!
Honnêtement, j'avais adoré le tome 1, mais ce tome est encore bien meilleur, et l'auteur a vraiment monté le niveau avec ce livre !!
Avec ce 2ème tome, l'auteure, m'a emmener encore plus loin qu'avec le tome 2, cette fois-ci elle s'est surpassée et à su faire évoluer tous ces personnages !! A chaque chapitre, j'avais envie d'en savoir plus sur ce qui allait se passer et c'était comme être sur une montagne russe, lorsqu'on se dit qu'on ne peut pas monter plus haut, eh bien c'est faux, on grimpe encore dans l'intensité du livre l'auteure nous emmène encore plus loin !! Honnêtement elle a remplit toutes les exigences que j'avais pour ce tome 2 et encore bien plus !! Maintenant, j'ai hâte de lire le tome 3 et de savoir ce qui va arriver aux personnages !!

Dans ce tome, nous retrouvons Axl et Dana que nous découvrons tout au long de l'histoire et j'ai adoré, les voir évoluer tout au long de ce tome, du chapitre 1 jusqu'à la fin !!
Honnêtement, j'avais adoré le tome 1, mais ce tome est encore bien meilleur, et l'auteur a vraiment monté le niveau avec ce livre !!
Avec ce 2ème tome, l'auteure, m'a emmener encore plus loin qu'avec le tome 2, cette fois-ci elle s'est surpassée et à su faire évoluer tous ces personnages !! A chaque chapitre, j'avais envie d'en savoir plus sur ce qui allait se passer et c'était comme être sur une montagne russe, lorsqu'on se dit qu'on ne peut pas monter plus haut, eh bien c'est faux, on grimpe encore dans l'intensité du livre l'auteure nous emmène encore plus loin !! Honnêtement elle a remplit toutes les exigences que j'avais pour ce tome 2 et encore bien plus !! Maintenant, j'ai hâte de lire le tome 3 et de savoir ce qui va arriver aux personnages !!

Wow this book really surprised me. Not what I was expecting but I enjoyed it anyway.
I read the first book in one go and really wanted to see what Axl and Dana's book was going to be like. In the previous book you see the beginning, good side of their relationship. In this book its a bit more complicated.
Axl has a darker side to him that I would think is typical of a biker. His life was good and he was the funny one, but then life have him a reality check and things just got a bit darker for him. Which made him make some mistakes with the people around him.
Dana, for everything that she has been through always try to look on the positive/bright side of things and she was going to stick with her man through it all. But when things get more complicated and he keeps on pushing her away will she be able to stand the test and stand by him or will it just become a little to much for her. Will Axl be able to get his life in order before its too late?
This was a good read. I loved the story, i loved the biker world, I loved the characters the family part the action the angst everything about this book made me want to see where this is going to go next. Definitely a good Biker Book!

Her sass and wit, his alpha-ness makes for a steamy chemistry between the two of them.
This story will have you tearing up and laughing all in one.
It’s hard to start something with one foot out the door, which is what Dana does because she’s afraid of everyone leaving her.
Axl is alpha all the way. He’s pushy, and doesn’t let Dana run. He fights for them, untold it’s Dana’s turn.
This book shows that everyone’s human, and life is messy, but the good things are always worth fighting for.
There is a healthy dose of shenanigans from Vegas, Dana and the girls throughout.
Pay attention to the characters main and side. It can get confusing with the different chapters popping in and out.

I recieved this book as an arc after falling in love with the characters of the Battle Born MC in book 1. I think I loved Dana and Axl's story more than Vegas and Blade's. Axl is a cheeky fun loving playboy and the VP of the Battle Born MC. From the moment he sees Dana he is determined to make her his. Dana is the sassy bar manager that holds Axl at arms length for as long as she could. When they finally get together sparks fly. This book covered some dark topics but it was balanced out by the witty banter between the characters. I laughed and cried with these characters. Scarlett Black has done a fantastic job with her second book and I can't wait to read more in this series.

I’m afraid this was a DNF for me, I was so looking forward to it too, I loved Book 1 and when I saw the high star reviews it was getting I couldn’t wait to start reading. But alas the story just couldn’t keep me interested, the continuity of the plot was all over the place and I finally gave up when my mind kept drifting repeatedly. I may try the next though.

There is quite a bit of improvement in book two. I loved this couple, although he was a little too alpha at times. She however, was a strong and sweet female and I enjoyed her character tremendously. I am curious to find out what’s going on with Jenn.

Book two of the series Battle Born and we get the story of Axl and Dana ,we met them in the first book Betting on Forever.
I was looking forward to this book because as crazy and funny as Axl was acting and looking in the first book,i knew it's much more of him than the eye could met.
There is a lot of suspense in this book as well because as an MC, there will always be enemies and dark shadows hunting them, and that's why there were moments of reading and wanting to keep reading till you'll find what the heck happens and why.
I love Dana because she is so sweet and so reliable with all her insecurities and her fears of starting something with Axl because of her past but Axl will prove to be a great lover and friend and protector and most of all a person whom she can trust and hope for their HEA.
Again a great banter and team of characters.

Nothing Lasts Forever is a good story with lots of sexy time, humor, angst and the boys of Battle Born take down all their enemies. Axl is the Male lead and Dana is the leading lady. If you read book one then you witnessed the blooming of their relationship or Axl laying claim to Dana and Her denying claim after claim. Well let's say Dana's defensive walls crumble and Axl takes what belongs to him. Their love story is interesting and the author throws in a twist of destiny or fate. Axl is possessive of his woman but he also shows her is softside, he is always smiling or joking but he has a darkside in which we see consume him. Tragedy will take place and it pulls out all kinds of emotions. I just wish the author gave us more of Mad Max.
Nothing Lasts Forever its packed to the brim with action and we gain more information about all the characters within the story. We see Blade in a different light as well he is ruthless when he goes after the ones that hurt his family. Battle Born takes down anyone who harms their family. The revenage is dark, ugly at times and the men of this MC are relentless. They do not take it easy on their enemies whether they are male or female.
Something happens in the story that I am sure the author will get criticized for but I give her credit for putting it into the storyline. This is fiction were anything can happen and Dana wouldn't of never received a tattoo and Axl would of never gotten to be the King D of all the land.

Wonderfully written story. Dana and Axl were destined to be together, even though neither one knew that at the beginning. All Axl knew was that Dana was his and he would do everything in his power to make her see that. And when he does, it's amazing. Axl comes from two loving parents, Dana..not so much. Her mother died when she was young, her father in an MC wasn't around a lot and it wasn't until she was in her teens that her life finally settled down with her father and his new wife, who was the one who opened his eyes to what he was doing to his daughter. To Dana, everyone leaves. Which is why she has such a hard time believing that Axl is in this for the long run.
When tragedy strikes, Axl pushes everyone away, including Dana. In his grief and pain, his anger flares until his best friend and President makes him leave town and head to another chapter to get himself together. He's hurting all those who love him. Once he get's his head cleared, and realizes what he has done, he returns home to claim his woman, if she will forgive him.
But there is still the danger of the traffickers out there and the club needs to get to the bottom of things and end this mess once and forever. But things are tricky and must be done a certain way. Blade calls in all of the presidents of all of their sister chapters and meet, plan, then set that plan into action. Will it be enough to get them clear?
An amazing story with wonderfully written characters. The girls seem to be finding their one and only, except for Jenn who is spiralling downward into a deadly depth. Her friends want to help her but she isn't opening up. Something has happened to Jenn, and that story is yet to be told.

I loved every single second of this book. I will admit when the book opens I was lost for just a moment. Axl is getting down at a GNR concert and that where my confusion came in. When there he has the time of his love with his friends and then he meets this rockin’ chick. I was confused about times lines as well but that is when the time jump hits. This is book two in the Battle Born MC and told in dual point of views.
Let's fast forward a few years and everything is going great for Axl and Dana. Are they together or aren't they? Axl thinks so but Dana is on the fence. Then the rug gets pulled out from under Axl when something happens and he up and leaves without an explanation. His whole world is turned upside down and he has no clue what to do.
I loved Dana and her whole attitude she was awesome and amazing. She is sassy, sweet, likable and downright ornery at times. She had a rough beginning with her parents. Her mom not so great and her dad was absent but trying to make up for it now. Axl is likable as well but he can be obtuse at times.
I liked the friendship that was built with Dana and Axl. Their banter is great. Then when they get some shocking news. What a great twist that was.
The book is all over the place. Not in a bad way. Just either you are laughing because there is some really great laugh out loud moments. Then there are times when you want to hug it out with them. Then the times when I wanted to jump into the book and beat the crud out of Axl. Yes, I may have liked him but he was downright mean at some point. It plays on all your emotions.
The people are great and I really love Snake. CAnt wait for the next installment of Jenn and James

I cannot for the life of me figure out how this author with only one previous story has mastered both the MC romance and writing so quickly. She is like an MC writing Goddess! This story had everything: swoon worth alpha male, kick rear female, interesting plot, amazing secondary characters, heat, passion, action, humor, lust, love and much, much more.
This story will take any reader on a roller coaster of emotions; all that are full experiences and justified and will leaving you reeling for more. I loved every word that was written and cannot wait for book three! The characters are written with depth; they all have a purpose and fit into the story with ease. Nothing in this story is wasted; nothing is used to carry the story other than the characters. Often times in stories the author needs a reason for the characters emotions or actions so they make up stupid reasons (i.e. miscommunication), this author does not do that! Every situation or action, emotion or dialogue is written with purpose!
Axl and Dana are perfect for each other and I loved how similar yet completely different they were. There is nothing better than reading about characters that you care about and root for from the first page. After reading this story I was so happy because I care for these characters and when they get their HEA, it makes me proud to have been a part of their journey! I will be waiting (impatiently) for boo three and to continue on in this wonderful world with my new one click author.

This story made me cringe and it made me cry, it is extreme emotions all the way. Graphic violence including torture, some of this could be a trigger for a few readers. There is heartbreak that had tears running down my face, it felt so real reading it. Plenty of suspense and excitement in the action scenes but mostly this story is about Dana and Axl, their building love and relationship with all the ups and downs it contains. It also has a lead in to the next story about Jenn. This book is gripping it held my attention throughout, fast paced flow and very raw emotions. These bikers don't want trouble or the violence but if threatened they will deal with said threat however they need to too solve the problem, the females are all feisty and kick-ass, supportive of their men but still vulnerable in their love for those men. I am loving this series and looking forward to the next book, even though this is a series each book does get its ending and an epilogue so could be read as singles, but if like me you hate jumping in only to want to read earlier books I would still suggest starting at the first book. The characters do follow in the whole series, some parts overlap in more than one book and the lead-up to the next book builds through both the first two. I feel it is worth investing in it as a whole.

What a ride. The author has given us a wonderful storyline as we continue getting to know the men that make up the Battle Born MC and their women. This is Axl, the club’s VP, and Dana’s story. Things are finally starting to go Axl’s way when tragedy strikes. Tragedy that makes Axl hate the world and push everything he loves away.

But the club can’t count on Axl, so his Prez send him to a sister chapter to get his head straight, causing an even bigger strain between him and Dana. Especially when Dana is having to deal with club issues on her own.
Does Axl get his head straight and if so is it in time for Dana to forgive his behavior and take him back? What about the troubles facing the club? This exciting and action packed MC Romance is a fantastic addition to the series. All the gang from book 1 in the series are present and of course they all have their own say in things. I cannot tell you how thrilled I am that I found this author!! Seriously I was hooked after reading the first book in this series and was floored to realize that I had the second to read as well because after the first I HAD to have the second. Axel and Dana entertained me thoroughly in the first and I just knew once they got together there would be fireworks. I never expected their story to be so heartbreaking and emotional.
Axel the usual fun and hilarious guy goes through a lot in this book and it completely changes him. He pushes everyone away and has to find the road to healing and it may take some pushing by those around him. He caused a lot of damage and wreaked some havoc that may make it difficult to resume life as he knew. Dana does not open herself up and trust very many few. She has a select few that she opens herself up to and Axel wants just that. She is hesitant because everyone she has loved has never stuck around except for her girls. Things drastically change not only with Axel but one of her girls as well and life is about to become messy.
This series. OMG I'm telling you it is one that is worth it to check out. I couldn't help but to fall in love with these characters and I cannot wait to get more from the Battle Born MC.

He caused a lot of damage and wreaked some havoc that may make it difficult to resume life as he knew. Dana does not open herself up and trust very many few. She has a select few that she opens herself up to and Axel wants just that. She is hesitant because everyone she has loved has never stuck around except for her girls. Things drastically change not only with Axel but one of her girls as well and life is about to become messy.
This series. OMG I'm telling you it is one that is worth it to check out. I couldn't help but to fall in love with these characters and I cannot wait to get more from the Battle Born MC.

Dana & Axl....where do I begin??? Their story started years ago unbeknownst to them. But the Battle Born MC, danger and a little bit of fate has reconnected them once again. Their connection is undeniable and so damn hot! There are quite a few ups & downs including a terrible tragedy that tests just how strong their love really is. I absolutely loved Dana and Axl’s story. I loved how it picked up where we left off with Vegas and Blade and all the nasty likes of Johnny. And I cannot wait until the story of the Battle Born MC continues!

The second Battle Born MC instalment and this brings us the story of Dana and Axl.
Throughout the first book we got the impression of Axl being this big overgrown kid. In this book he has to reevaluate his life in a big way after a tragic event leaves him reeling and totally lost. He questions his own ability to love and so sets himself in a downward spiral.
Dana can't deny her feelings any longer and just as she is coming around to Axl's thinking he starts to spiral... bringing her abandonment fears to the fore..
Can Dana pull Axl back? Is she strong enough to fight for them both? Will Axl see his way forward and embrace his life with his battle born true love?
Again, great characters and engrossing storyline. Some very sensitive subjects, but it is the world of the MC so anything goes.. right?! Definitely not for the faint of heart!!
If you like hot Alpha bikers and their feisty strong women then this MC series is for you...Also the epilogues are a great round off to the book.

I enjoyed reading book 2 in this series.
We met Axl and Dana in the previous book and I was looking forward to reading there story.
The epilogue was perfect and everything I hoped it would be.
I recommend this book. It can be read on its own, but I think you would enjoy it more if you read the first book in the series prior to reading this one.

I was given an ARC copy to read. It didn't disappoint. I think Axl & Dana are up there as one of my favorite MC couples. After reading the first book in this MC series, I didn't think it could get any better; but believe me it did. Scarlett, you've hit it out of the park with this one. I loved the interaction with all the people and the playfulness amongst everyone. They are truly a family in every sense of the word. I had some tears in the eyes but overall I loved it. It really is worth a read. As I kept on reading, I didn't realize I had come to the end of the story. I wish it could have gone on and on. Eagerly waiting on the next book in the series.

Nothing Lasts Forever is book 2 in The Battle Born MC Series written by Scarlett Black. This is the story of Axl and Dana's and Scarlett you did it again, WOW, AWESOME second story. Axl is sexy and funny, a brash biker and the VP of the Battle Born MC. Dana is the bar manager, a smart and sassy woman. These two are meant for each other, their chemistry is off the charts. It's a very well written and emotional bikers romance. But I have to say that you need to read book one first in order to enjoy book 2. No Spoilers here, go buy the book it it worth it. I couldn't put down once started. I highly recommend this book! Can't wait to read book 3!!!
