I went into this thinking it would be an instalove smutfest. It wasn't. More time was spent on Chloe with other men and deliberately hurting Ben than anything else. There was no denying the affection these two shared for one another, growing up together and falling for each other, but Chloe wouldn't allow things to play out as they should. Why? Because she knew a secret that she thought would devastate Ben and rather than accept that he was a grown man and could come to his own conclusions, make his own decisions, she thought it would be wise to keep him in the dark and break his heart.
I didn't like Chloe at all. Poor Ben was made to look like a fool, almost accepting that his wants, needs and desires would remain unrequited. And when they finally did get together, the girl who hurt him the most did it again. It was all so unnecessary. The angst was tedious and annoying. I wanted Ben to listen to his best friend Nick and move on. Let her go and find someone else to share some happiness with. This girl didn't deserve all of his goodness. She barely warranted his friendship. If you're looking for a light and sexy read, you won't find it here.

I am just loving these Ruby Romp Novellas, these short reads are a must read! Dick Magnet was so good! Loved Ben & Chloe, their chemistry was super hot and sexy! Hope we get more of these stories! Maybe Nick & Megan????

Ben and Chloe have known each other since they were kids. Ben has been secretly in love with Choe for a very long time. Chloe has been in love with Ben as well but she cant let herself let Ben know she reciprocates feelings because something that happened in her past that she thinks will affect the way Ben feels about her. The push/pull aka angst and drama is good in yhis novella. What worked is the tension, drama, passion and heat- what didn't work was how the heroine was made to look silly as for why she didn't let love bloom sooner. Yet the story still worked. Loved this story and cant wait for more.

An amazing sweet story of Ben and Chloe who have known each other since childhood. Ben has been in love with Choe for a long time. Chloe has been fighting the love she feels for Ben because of something that happened in her past that makes her think it will affect the way Ben feels about her. Ben is tired of the way Chloe has been with him and is ready to let her know that he is tired of waiting around and what they have is real. This is a well written story with just the right balance of humor, steamy scenes and a bit of mystery. What is the secret Chloe feels she needs to keep from Ben? Will the truth affect how he feels about her? Can Chloe find away to get past what happened in the past? I loved the cameo of past characters from Summer Trouble and Peer Review. I also enjoyed the new character in this book. Megan and Nick seem as if they have great chemistry. Overall a great read with a wonderful HEA.

In this book, all of the previous characters in the Ruby Romp novellas come full circle.
Ben & Chloe are childhood friends who've been in love with each for a long time, but Chloe keeps fighting it. Ben decides enough is enough, and takes matters into his own hands, determined that Chloe will stop fighting what's inevitable.
This is an even sweeter installment, but it doesn't lack any heat! The way Ben looks after Chloe, and defends her honor time after time is a huge indicator of his dedication and the depth of his feelings towards her. Though I felt that the big "secret" wasn't all that huge or serious, I still enjoyed the novella. I seriously can't wait for the next installment.
I recommend this series, and am confident that the next installment will only make it better.

I LOVE these Ruby Romp books!!!
They are standalones and have a perfect balance of love and lust. (Ruby's REALLY good at writing love!)
Though the story was short-ish, Ruby made excellent use of the words she chose, and a lot of story was packed into these pages. I could feel Ben's longing for Chloe and Chloe's struggle to do what she felt was the right thing.
I enjoyed the history between Ben and Chloe, however I wasn't a huge fan of the reason/secret Chloe was using as the rationale for not being with Ben. But, boy, did Ruby make me work to uncover what that secret was! She evil-genuisely put it towards the end of the book and had me chomping at the bit DYING to know what the secret was!
All in all, this was a quick, SMOKING HOT read and I am SO excited for the next one!!!

Ben and Chloe. Wew. Where to even start. I was excited to see a new novella romp from Ruby Rowe, and she did not let me down in the steam and angst department. This was a quick read and I had it devoured in one sitting.
In Dick Magnet we get the story of Ben and Chloe. Best friends since they were young. Secretly both crushing on each other since then as well. Ben has looked over her and protected her from herself time and time again. He's finally ready for more, but Chloe has a reason they could never be together.
I must say, for the first time in a LONG time I didn't see THAT secret coming. Their friendship turned romance is something that is so boy next door, that element alone made me fall in love with their story. When secrets are revealed, can their bond hold.
Great job on another amazing quick read Ruby! I can't wait for what is next to come...

Being best friends since they were young.Ben and Chloe have a great friendship but Chloe has been running from her feelings for Ben. She has a nickname in Collage its Dick Magnet, what she doesnt know is Ben is tired of watching her hook up with other guys when she belongs with him. What Ben doesn't know is she keeps running because she has a secret, once she tells him he may never want anything to do with her. What she doesnt understand his his love for her is stronger then any secret. This story is so good.

Amazing
Another one of Ruby's brilliant short stories. Sweet and hot, just the way I like them. I can't imagine having that type of secret and not being able to be with the man I love. Ruby is wonderful at helping us feel what the characters are feeling and why they feel that way

Wow, that was a great plot twist there. Loved the way this storyline unfolded. Ruby writes so so well. Great characters that I want more from. Such a great book.

These Novella's had me glued to each page! Dick Magnet was no exception. I truly enjoyed Chloe's story and happy to see the gang all together again. Ben was so unexpected. When he was done being on the sidelines, watch out! Ben becomes pure alpha male with Chloe. The story was building up, the only down side was that the big "secret" could of had a little more drama to it. I understood that this was a Novella and we needed a fast resolution, but I felt it was too resolved if that makes sense. Other than that, I truly enjoyed this book. The heat factor was probably more heated than the last two Novella's. Chloe and Ben have this amazing chemistry in and out of the bedroom. The overall story was great and I am excited to see what else Ruby Rowe will bring us next with Meghan's story!
