"What makes Someone a Jew?" is an excellent introduction to the wide variety of practitioners that follow the jewish fate. This picture book follows jewish children from several parts of the world who all practice Judaism in different and meaningful ways. This book is an excellent bridge to understanding religion as a culture and religious practices as intertwined with culture. As a way to further this study, have students exposed to religious practices around the holidays of Judaism and important milestone celebrations such as bar and bat mitz vah's.
