Bears of Blackrock is a spin-off series from Shifters of Ashwood Falls where there are sexy, alpha bear shifters and their BBW, sassy mates. Bear Essentials Trey considers it a good day if he can just stay out of trouble. As the youngest son of the bear Alpha, he’s a master at getting his way. When he meets the curvy, raven-haired goddess, Nichole, he realizes exactly what he wants and knows that she’s worth any amount of trouble. All he has to do is seduce all of her insecurities away and claim her as his bonded mate. Bear Magick Anthony Black is the Marshal of Blackrock. His number one priority is protecting his den—and his mate. But keeping Connie safe is a challenge in itself. Not only is he unsure if she’ll accept him, but the stubborn and sexy witch loves her independence. Almost as much as she loves teasing him—something that makes him mad with desire. A Beary Sweet Holiday Tiffany Black, culinary artist and owner of Beary Sweets Café, is determined to make this year’s Winter Solstice celebration one to remember. Especially since it will also be the mating ceremony for her brother, Anthony, and soon-to-be sister-in-law, Connie. She wants everything to be perfect. Unfortunately, you can’t always get what you want. When she falls off a ladder in her café and breaks her ankle, she fears her plans are doomed. Until the sexy bear Healer, Holt, comes to the rescue—stirring up more than just recipes. Bear Marked Bear shifter and youngest son of the Blackrock Clan Alpha, Ryan Black, refuses to tie another to the demon who marked him. A demon who claims to be his mate. And now, staying away from the curvy beauty, Kaylee Martin, tears at his heart. When demons threaten Kaylee’s life, Ryan faces tough choices. He must learn to listen to the truth and forgive Adair, because working with the demon to protect their mate sparks a desire too strong to ignore.

I read each of these stories and was captivated by this world of bear shifters and finding their mates. For me it was a magical pace to visit and imagine myself as Nichole, Connie, Tiffany and Kaylee as they each found a strong, protective bear and in Kaylee's case also a reformed demon.
I own the first two and received complimentary copies of the rest of the series and you can be sure iI will be adding the other two or maybe just this full collection and no I have not been compensated in any way for this opinion.
I own all these individually, this is a fun series you're sure to enjoy.
Bear Essentials - Bears of Blackrock Book 1
Nicole moved to Blue Ridge to start over, without anyone judging her. She needs a job but it seems they all want a college degree that she doesn't have. While enjoying a hazelnut mocha latte at Beary Sweets, she notices the three very large gorgeous men watching her. When one of them comes over to her table she really wasn't in the mood to for male pranks and bets.
I love the way Trey goes about trying to convince Nicole of her beauty. It's a good thing she already knows a bit about the animals in the area, thanks to her BFF Connie. This is a short eventful book with a bit of angst, some jealousy and a bunch of sizzling sex.
Bear Magick - Bears of Blackrock Book 2
Connie and Natalie (Trey's mate) are best friends. Now visiting the den regularly, Connie has the suspicion that Anthony (Trey's oldest brother) may be her mate.
Anthony really doesn't want to face the fact that he has a mate close by, but his bear is telling him Connie is the one.
When Connie confronts a hunter in Blackrock territory, Anthony realizes he may not be able to hide the truth from her much longer.
Misunderstanding leads to Connie walking away from him only to find him ready to grovel for her forgiveness.
Anthony provides a make-up meal and although she acknowledges the whole mate thing she shows a lot of snarkiness too.
A lot of giggling from me as these two figure out the mating thing. Some hold your breath moments and some very hot sex.
A Perfect afternoon getaway read.
A Beary Sweet Holiday - Bears of Blackrock Book 3
Nothing says holiday like fresh baked goods, and lots of party foods. No one makes them better than Tiffany and when a storm threatens, she decides to move everything from Beary Sweets to her home. She doesn't want the food to be stuck far away from the Winter Celebrations of Solstice and Matings.
In the process of moving things to the truck she spots the cake topper she thought she misplaced, out of her reach so she climbs up falls and breaks her ankle. Shouldn't be too big a deal Holt will fix her up and she'll be good as new.
Only Holt doesn't do a quick heal and quickly finds himself recruited to help. All it takes is a kiss that he's not sure how happened and he's fleeing the scene. Leaving Tiffany feeling hurt and rejected thinking he doesn't feel the mating pull.
That all changes the next day after completing the prep for the next day's celebration. Tiffany's Mom takes Kaylee off for the rest of the day, leaving Holt and Tiffany alone. Subtle they aren't, but they are shifters after all.
Now we can't have everything go smoothly even at the holidays so the storm has to throw some wrenches into the mix. Not enough to spoil the ceremonies but enough to cause some angst. Lots of love, laughter and very few tears. A perfect holiday read.
Bear Marked - Bears of Blackrock Book 4
Ryan has known for a long time that Kaylee is his mate, but until he got rid of the demon mark from Adair, he couldn't mate anyone. Now Adair is stepping up his game, he wants both his mates. Unfortunately he keeps going about things in the wrong way. Ryan still hates Adair for kidnapping his sister Tiffany, and now the Demon takes off with Kaylee.
A lot of very interesting details come to light as the mating dance between these three gets hot and heavy.
Adair's brother Malbhor throws in more than just a little threat and Ryan's family has to deal with new information.
A mostly fun read with some action. suspense and plenty of heat.
The couple: Trey and Nichole/Anthony and Connie/Holt and Tiffany/Ryan and Adair and Kaylee
Romance genre: shifters Part of a series: Yes (The Bears of Blackrock) Length: 190 pages
Plot: Bear Essential: Nichole has just broken up with her boyfriend after overhearing his friends make fun of her for her weight and him not stick up for her. So when seriously good-looking Trey makes a move on her, she doesn't believe it's real. What about the mate bond? Will she believe that's real?
Bear Magick: Connie is a self-confident witch who knows what she wants. What she wants I s Anthony, a sort of enforcer for the bear clan. But he's resistant to the idea of a mate (for some reason that's not really explained). What's a girl to do?
A Beary Sweet Holiday: Tiffany is the sole girl in her bear shifter family, and Holt is the clan healer. They've known each other all their lives, but when Tiffany gets hurt, they are thrown together, and realize that they're mates.
Bear Marked: Ryan is a near shifter, and a while ago, rescued his sister from a demon, Adair, and took a demon mark in the process. Adair says that Ryan is his mate, but Ryan is not sure about that; after all, he believes that Kaylee, his sister's assistant, is his mate. Can the three of them make this work?
Character development: I wish there had been a little more background about the family, the bear clan, the area - I didn't feel like I understood them completely. Also, the last story? Felt out of character. Very standard m/f story with a shifter and another shifter/witch/human, and then all of a sudden, it was a shifter and a demon and a half demon/half angel M/M/F group. It was...unexpected. Not bad, but it didn't seem to fit in the ethos of the world created here. Probably just me. I wasn't expecting angels and demons. There was a lot here, and longer stories would have allowed for greater character development. They were entertaining stories though.
Grammar/formatting: Some continuity errors - probably more prominent for reading the story in a collection rather than separately.
This series is four short stories. The longest, having just nine chapters!
Bear Essentials - Who is Nichole? Why is she drug out to a girl's night with Connie and Tiffany? Who is Trey? What do we learn about him? Oh, Nichole surprised me as much as she surprised Trey. I liked Trey! Who is April? Thank goodness Trey and his family warned her about April. What stunt does April pull? What does Connie say or do that helps Nichole with her decision?
Bear Majick - We get to follow Connie's journey to love this time! What we know about her family history helped. Oh my, what I learned about the hunter surprised me. Who is Ryan, and how did he help with the hunter?
A Beary Sweet Holiday - Oooh, Tiffany is the subject of this book. This story was full of surprises and sweet. At the end of the story, I had the biggest grin.
Bear Marked - We read more about Kaylee and learn about Ryan's deal or issue with the Demon bond. Oh my, reading about Adair and what was going on before the chapters started made me gasp. Oh, my gosh... finding out Kaylee's lineage floored me. Who is Zorrol? How does he fit into the story? Oh, Mallohor is going to have the day he deserved!
Shifters, witches, angels and demons all in this series. Humans, witches, angels and demons falling love with shifters. The secrecy of not talking about the paranormal with humans can wear on someone until the fated mate appears. This series proves that it doesn't matter what your heritage, love will cross lines and not care.
I really enjoyed this box set. It was great getting to know each sibling along with their mates. I think Ryan's book was my favorite. It tied everything up with the way he acted in the other three. I need to read more from Lia Davis. I really enjoyed her writing.
Omg! I love this series. The perfect amount of action, heat, and happily ever afters. The writing style is superb and the characters are developed and still manage to grow. You’ll fall hard for this family,I did.
Loved it, picked it up put it down when it was done!
Loved reading about the Bears of Blackrock, especially, Ryan who, is actually mated to two 1/2 demons, one who marked him to save his sister Tiffany. Great read. Well done Lia Davis!
Thoroughly enjoyed reading the stories of the couples in this boxset very much. I love reading happy ever after stories they make my day. Thank you for writing these stories.
As crazy as these stories went, they were a lot of fun to read. Shifters, demons, and what not still made a tantalizing story but mates made it better.
I really liked this box set. But there is a HUGE continuity error. Books 1 & 4 both claim that they are the youngest brother. Sorry it doesn’t work that way. Book four also has many spelling/grammar errors. Things like that really bother me when it comes to something professional. Once you set that aside, the stories while short are great.
I really enjoyed reading this series. Each book focused on a new set of mates and the trials and tribulations that they had to go through in order to make it work. Ms. Davis blended them nicely so it felt natural to keep reading each story.
