Amaya sees death right before her eyes. Her mother gets herself sentenced to life for murdering her father, and no one wants to take her in. Now a ward of the state, Amaya meets a girl named Brooke who becomes her best friend, Brooke, who has the best of both worlds ends up teaching Amaya about the streets and other things she has no idea about. State life wasn't that bad until Brooke introduces AMaya to her play brother Chase Dantlzer while out on a day pass. Chase was a young baller who tried hard to get Brooke to leave her life of petty crime to join him in the drug trade, but Brooke had other things on her mind.
Brooke, Amaya, and She'rine were dealt a bad hand in life. Each young lady met under rare circumstances but yet their past drew them together and allowed them to form not only a friendship but a sisterhood. Brooke hatred for her mother caused her to rebel and lose her freedom. Amaya and She'rine ended up running away from their circumstances and hooked up with Chase. Who turned out to be the young ladies saving grace. However their connection to Chase led Amaya and She'rine into a situation with Satan himself Manhattan. Manhattan was diabolical, conniving, arrogant, heartless, and selfish. Everything he did was for his own selfish reasons.
Money is the root of all evil and Manhattan was proof of that. I was so glad when they got him but saddened She’rine didn’t make it but Brooke and Amaya made everything good and I’m glad these young people were street smart and things ended well for the rest of the crew. I would like to know the outcome for Max cause his brother was the devil in the flesh all for a dollar. Sad
Runnin Child Running Wild can only be described in one word, FIRE. There is a realness to it. So many young girls in the world have similar stories to Amaya. Story Tellah truly brought the heat with this one. From the realness of the story to how relatable the characters are. I must say kudos to the cover designer on this one, you truly brought them to life . I am definitely going to recommend this banger, I give it five stars.
Enjoyed this story written by the author. He has a way about telling your a story that you can actually see yourself going through what these character were going through. Whitey/Brooke was the character I enjoyed the most. I thought Manhattan got what he deserved. There were some grammatical errors, but that didn't take away from the story. Overall the story was good.
I fell in love with the girls because of their struggles and still keeping their virginity in tact. I wasn't with the sec acts between them but I'm sure they were curious wanting to explore. I was so hurt that devil did that to them. As the story began to unravel, I thought that's what he was doing. They were so young and green as they say. Loved it.
I totally love Whitey Amara and the others this book made me not want to put it down til I was done you will laugh cry and shout out loud for those that are runnin child's......
This book was good from beginning to the end. There was somethings that had me want to jump through the book and kill a few people but it it's all good.
