Bad Boy Heaven

Rate this book
I should have never slept with Phil.
He’s broke.
Bad for me.
And obsessed with getting into my pants.

It doesn't help that he's over six feet tall, dangerously sexy, covered in tattoos and always speaks his mind while demanding what he wants in the bedroom.

As each of my dating failures gets progressively worse...
Phil is always there to catch me when I fall.

I have to wonder if I’m in bad boy heaven or single woman hell.

This is a spicy friends-with-benefits-to-lovers black woman/white man romance with an alphahole.

Enjoyed!

This was a good storyline I loved the male first. The female character was to superficial for me. She felt Phil was good enough to screw but wasn't good enough for a real relationship. It took her friends to make her realize she was in love with him. Once she realized that her attitude changed toward Phil. Then she was a more likeable character.

Good

The book was written and touched on important subjects such as dating, the pressures that one put on oneself (finding someone on the level) and the true meaning of love. Once Tessa realized that she loved Phil, I liked how she fought for them. She was very mature about it and she didn’t let her previous hang ups and prejudice get in her way. She was sensitive to his insecurities. I particularly liked how she fought to keep him out of jail. I like how he wasn’t intimidated by her success and was supportive of her. The reason why it’s not a 5 stars for me is the lack of scenes between them as a couple and others like their parents, friends, colleagues etc. It would have been interesting to see how they behaved in those potentially hostile situations. Good job nonetheless.

I've really taken some wrong turns lately. I'm pretty sure this was a freebie from a Bookbub email. I read the blurb but did I miss some other tag or warning about how out there the sex was going to be? I have no problem with erotica but this was something else. To me it wasn't sexy but it did make me laugh.

Here are some of the parts that I couldn't help but note:

- 'He pulled his hardness out of his boxers and rolled a condom onto the bulging, oozing length.' Is it just me or does that sound infected?

- 'One hand grabbed the small part of hips while the other guided the head of his hardness to my sopping, eager hole.'

- 'FCK ME HARDER DADDY!'

- '...a thick honey oozed from my love pot.'

- 'I reached for my firm buttocks and spread them, showing him my perky asshole and my sopping wet pussy lips.' Has anyone ever had a saggy asshole?

There's a lot of juices flowing like a river and the heroine loses conciousness during orgasm many times. Not to mention the dude's ruler length schlong. I guess this book isn't meant to be taken seriously but this style is not for me.

But yay for an interracial relationship and the heroine did eventually show some character development.

2.50 Stars. (BW/WM). Audible audiobook read by Addison Barnes. Economic status gap. I was eager to read a romance story where the female wheels and deals with the rich and well connected and where she earns a great deal more than her love interest. The elements of the story that deals with the heroine, Tessa Towers, and the hero, Phil Tremblay, being a mixed race couple is not the major theme of the story, it is the socio-economic difference...Tessa received a law degree from Howard, an HCBU, and is working at a prestigious law firm; while, Phil graduated from a State University and is working 2 bar keep jobs to make ends meet. Phil had no problems with Tessa making more money than him, shallow bougie Tessa is ashamed to be with Phil and feels he is beneath her; but by the end of the story she has a change of heart and she and Phil enter into a loving longterm relationship. The couple's sexy time is comical and leaves the reader with the impression that Phil's genitals belong on a horse and that Tessa 's drippy leaking "hot pot" needs to be treated with antibiotics or a catheter.

I loved this book and would read it again, especially the first chapter HILARIOUS.
Tessa a high class lawyer self confident and independent has problems with making a love match. All of the men that she met seem to take her to the same restaurant where Phil the bartender worked who also had eyes for her. Each fail relationship at this restaurant ended with her and Phil in a sexual encounter. Phil knows that Tessa isn't right for him because she was successful and he was a nobody just making ends meet.

I liked this offering from prolific romance author, Jamila Jasper. I saw her post about this on Twitter, read the description and she had me at ill-fated date with a hotep 😆 Tessa’s unfortunate taste in dates reminded me of my own. Tessa does have hot bartender, Phil waiting in the wings and able to provide her with passion and good times but apparently, he’s not up to her standards cuz of his profession. Anyway, Tessa gets a bit on my nerves for this but it’s still a decent sexy short novella. 3.5 stars

Yeah It's Good!

This book took me awhile to.finish and I guess the at the beginning I was turned off by both of the main characters.I saw these characters as both being immature and somewhat thinking you have to prove a point all the time or being who you are not.The more I became invested I found that I had a sweet funny sexy romance on my hands. This was well-written and thought out storyline. The dialogue flows effortlessly and you want to turn the next page. This was good reading and terrific entertainment.

Loved TESSA & PHIL. This was a funny and loving story. This book touched on the difficulties of dating, finding that one on the same level, and how that special person can be there right under your nose.

TESSA & PHIL had a unbelievable connection and chemistry. They had a passion that was sexy, dirty, and mind blowing. Sex so good Homegirl would PASS OUT😂😂.I liked how she was able to call on the others when she needed to help her man. PHIL demonstrated more than once he would always be there whenever and however she needed him.

Beautiful love story.

Good Read

What a journey! I think this may be my favorite read by Jamila Jasper. Tessa went through a journey of self-discovery and Phil definitely had a journey, or should I say, he had something like a glow-up! I laughed so hard during the hotep date. I literally was laughing out loud. This book is well rounded and very hot, which is classic Jamila Jasper. I really enjoyed it!

Wow! That’s an insane amount if sex!

I guess a lot of relationships start like this, not really healthy. The problem is they start having sex before they really know anything about each other and are still getting to know each other when they think they’re in love. A lot of real relationships are like that, they’re also the ones that don’t last. Tess and Phil’s lives are so full and so busy it’s hard to imagine them staying together.

Unlikely Love ❤️

Phil was a bartender at Bistro Cacao where Tessa, a high class up and coming attorney frequented with her dated. She reluctantly worked to stay away, but it appeared that fate had other plans. They eventually get together to have their HEA almost shattered by a self-defense charge against Phil. They work through their differences and get together for their good.

This one took Rae and Veronica out of their comfort zones, but these ladies live by the mantra "good for her, not for me." This one is more erotica, less plot, but stars an intelligent heroine with her professional life *together* - which the ladies love. Love At Last

I. I Thought Tessa was a snob at first, she didn’t know that Phil was a good man and write him off because of his job! I am glad that she finally realized that it didn’t matter what Phil did for a living,. They both were sexually compatible and freaks! I would recommend this modern day love story to any woman that’s caught up in social status and maybe missing out on having true love of a good hardworking man! Kudos

This was a good book. I loved how each of Tessa’s dates brought her back to Phil. I loved the book story line, but then it just was rushed. All of the sudden they decide they are in love, then he kills his boss, and then she calls in favors (from her failed dates) and he is released from prison. That combined with the rushing of their relationship made the end of the book unenjoyable.
