As Jarvis scratches at the surface of his latest mystery, he begins to uncover a plot that grows ever larger and more complex the more he learns. It soon becomes apparent that both organized crime and the FBI have an interest in Argus, yet in a way that Jarvis wouldn't have expected... and a ghost from his past appears to turn his entire world on a razor's edge.
Lies, intrigue, kidnapping, attempted murder and gun battles mark the path toward the solution or complete destruction. Jarvis must fit the pieces of the puzzle together before Argus, Jarvis and even Lisa are swallowed in a deadly game with no second chances.

A Florida PI is out sailing with his secretary when he gets a call from a client. It seems the client owns a small gambling cruise line, and people want to muscle in.
Things start getting crazy, and his secretary is kidnapped.
Pretty decent but not as crazy as some Florida novels.
The story was entertaining and the action was good. My biggest complaint is that the typing errors are vast in number. They were a drawback to the experience. Many capitalization errors and continuity mistakes. For example, during one confirmation, a man pulls out his pack of non filtered cigarette and then smokes it all the was down to the filter. Sloppy proof reading makes the experience less enjoyable.
Again, a high flying, hard hitting, mach two hit. Scott Cook and hid his buddy Scott Jarvis brought another ex item ent filled story to us. The style of writing is fun and easy to read . The characters are easy to like and even despise some of them. Cannot wait to start the next. Thanks Scott!!
Yes, Jarvis is a smart private dick (can I use that term without offending the entire world) and I empathise with his racial problems but I was getting put off by so many interjections. The story would have gone smoother. But now you will excuse me as I download the next book, okay?
There's still a little too much Travis McGee here (sailboats busted flush houseboat) but Jarvis and his hard assed way are worth following for another go round.
The detective is on an upswing and the host of characters were will developed an interesting. There were a numbers of twists and turns that added suspense and action and moved right along. Book three is a winner.
This series has been the cause of some lost sleep and late nights. I love a book that flows and keeps your interest until you suddenly realize it is1am! Whoops time for bed
I've never seen so many typos and punctuation errors in on been before. And then, no plot line is even close to being believable. You need an agent, AND a proofreader!!
