Duck

Rate this book
This is Duck. Duck lives at my house. Duck thinks I’m the greatest. I’m Duck’s hero. The narrator of this story assumes that Duck both loves and needs him. But when Duck goes missing, things like playing in the bath, story time and even chocolate cake lose their appeal. Great is the relief when Duck is discovered under a cushion … but even greater is the discovery that the narrator needs Duck just as much as Duck needs him! Duck is a heart-warming story which touches on the developmental, early childhood stage of the ‘blanky’ or comfort toy.

Very cute. A little boy and Duck. Duck and the little boy do everything together until one day Duck goes missing. The little boy looks all over town for Duck describing what Duck looks like "yellow and raggedy", smells like "a blanket", and feels "soft and woolly." No one in town has seen Duck. The little boy is heartbroken without Duck. Then the little boy sits on the couch and smells something like a blanket and feels something soft and woolly. He's found Duck!

The soft and simple illustrations make it a perfect bedtime book.

Yes, I've seen Duck. I've seen this story before. Hell, I've LIVED this story before in constant searches around my house for "Baby", who is STILL JR's companion even at 12!
But this is sweetly told and the illustrations are appealing. So Duck is a welcome addition to the shelf.

Cute story about a missing stuffed animal. Parents everywhere will relate and children will love the brightly colored illustrations and fun story line as he searches everywhere for the missing Duck.

This is a cute story about a little boy and his favorite stuffed animal named Duck. He and Duck do everything together until one day Duck is missing. The little boy searches everywhere for Duck. Eventually he finds him and everything is OK again. Young children will love this story especially if they have a special blanket or stuffed animal that they love. I would use this story to engage young writers about their special blanket or stuffed animal.

Quiet a sweet story of childhood friendship. I like the circular telling from the child focus to the duck focus.

A little boy introduces us to Duck. Duck is yellow and raggedy, smells like a blanket, feels soft and woolly, and can do nothing without the little boy. The little boy is Duck's hero.

One day the little boy discovers Duck is missing. The little boy looks everywhere for Duck, he asks all over town, even asking the dog next door, but still Duck could not be found. The little boy is so upset he is no longer able to do anything, not eat his dinner or splash in the bath.

Later as the little boy curled up in the corner between the cushions, he makes a discovery, Duck is hidden deep beneath the cushions. The little boy is so happy, he missed Duck so much and now that Duck is back he can do anything again. Duck is the little boy's hero.

Duck is a simple yet heartfelt story of friendship and love. It demonstrates that sometimes we don't appreciate what we have until it's gone, or just how much we care about someone till they are no longer there. Duck shows us that we need others as much as they need us, and that its no fun doing things on your own. A truly beautiful story to share with those you love.

Such a cute little story about a boy and his best friend Duck. They do everything together. Until... the little boy loses the precious little stuffed Duck. The story-line follows the boy as he searches everywhere for Duck. Nothing will cheer him up except for Duck! No, not a cake. No, not a bubble bath. Everything lacks luster. Finally, the boy finds Duck in-between two couch cushions. The little boy realizes that Duck is his hero, and NOT the other way around.

"Have your Seen Duck?" is a perfect bedtime story for the little one in your life. Adorable story-line, and beautiful illustrations with soft colors, and wonderful little details, Have You Seen Duck is soon to be a childhood favorite.

Have You Seen Duck is an adorable story about a little who's constant companion is his stuffed Duck. They do everything together and go everywhere together, until one day Duck goes missing. Now it's up to the little boy to find his missing best friend.

This is a great story about coping with something special you've lost, finding it and not giving up. It's a story that young children can easily identify with, and they'll be happy to know that Duck does indeed get found.

This story line brought back memories!! Parents, if your child is IN LOVE with a certain toy you need to PURCHASE DOUBLES! The story starts off with a young boy and his stuffed duck who do everything together. Then one day duck goes missing. The boy did everything shy of hanging up missing posters to try and get his stuffed friend back. Super cute read to share with your little ones, make sure they bring their stuffed companions with them when you do though.

My five-year-old son picked this book out from the library last week. From the back, he looks like the boy in the cover illustration. And he has a favorite stuffed animal -- Hop-Hop.

There wasn't much to this story. What is there is sweet, but not especially engaging. The illustrations, however, are very, very lovely.

Actual rating: 3.5 stars, but I round up.

I was looking for a picture book with a strong "yellow" look to it for an art themed painting project. I found this and it worked a charm. I read this to a group of young kids and they loved it. It's a very cute story about how duck needs the little boy so duck can do things. But when the duck goes missing the boy realises he also needs duck so he can do things too.

Every parent has known the horror of when the favorite stuffed animal goes missing. This book shows one of those instances. Cute illustrations, lovely story, not overly long but definitely geared to your older set.

This is a good story about attachment. The little boy doesn't want to go or do anything without his duck. This is a good story on helping students get over the things they are most attached to. I recommend this for younger students.

Love this book. My son brings it to me every night to read. Such a sweet story of a little boy and his favorite stuffed toy. I'll have to buy a copy eventually, since I've renewed it so many times from the library.

My daughter loves this book, she can really relate it back to her pink bunny, the household duck equivalent. I find this book enjoyable to read, even after the 5th time straight, so it must be a winner!

My 4-year-old loved this story, probably because he's the little boy in it! But instead of my son loving a duck, he loves a giraffe.
