I will readily admit that whatever Ms. Piper Stone writes will be a page-turner. Once again, with this paranormal romance, she hit it out of the ballpark. Her stories are packed full of mystery, suspense, danger, intrigue, romance, and more. A curse, a legend, a blood moon, murder, finding the queen and breaking the spell all play within this amazing story.
Scarlet Dumane was born in Lafayette, but her mother moved her to Chicago and kept her away, including from her grandmother, Viola. Viola was known to tell stories, involving voodoo, legends, and secrets. Something Scarlet considered a myth, but the truth is coming, and with the death of her grandmother, bits of pieces are surfacing and can’t be ignored.
“The time is here. Your destiny, a fate I’ve tried to prepare you for. There is little time, or many will lose the battle. You are required to find your true mates, three members of the Pride. They will own you, protect you, and secure your future. Together, you can break the curse. Apart, you will die.”
Larken Myers left Lafayette and moved to LA and became a firefighter—but he sees and feels things, and the pull to return home is strong—the need to shift is upon him again. Knowing the blood moon is coming, he can’t ignore it anymore, he is called to duty whether he wants it or not, his obligation is to his Pride—he is Alpha and King.

The plot will revolve around a curse that is thousands of years old and involving a blood moon. It will include the revelation of the queen of the Pride, and that she will be joined to three mates.
Trouble is brewing between the humans and were-lions, with violent murders of humans that have people fearing and wanting retribution. Larken must try and bring the Pride together, find out who is causing problems and hopefully prevent more deaths. His first priority will be to his queen, his bride, Scarlet—and he will have to take control of her, including disciplining her.
“She would be captured, trained and disciplined in order to keep her alive. And he would protect her with his life. Tipping his head to the sky, he allowed a single growl.”
“Scarlet dropped her head, panting as he issued the first few smacks, her skin stinging. This is exactly what she’d craved her entire life, longing for a man who refused to take any crap, or her mouth. The hard slaps came one after the other, peppering down against one cheek then the other, even her upper thighs.”
The battle is not humans versus were-lions but more good versus evil. There are those who have betrayed, and there will be others who will prove loyal. Secrets, lies, folklore, legends, curses, and murder will all play a part. Will the Pride find a way to break the curse or will they be doomed to die?

I loved the story with the mystery of the Red Moon curse, what was foretold and guarded by Viola to break the curse and protect the Pride. Evil intent to try and interfere and stir up hatred isn’t just among humans, but also among some of those in the Pride. The story is a love story, the love and protection of parents for their children, the love and respect of Viola by several people, the love and protection of the Pride, and the love that three men will find with one woman.

The story will have multiple spanking scenes and explicit sex scenes, including ménage scenes. The story is a paranormal romantic suspense with dominance and submission and discipline. While I do not know if there are more stories to come, the ending gave me that impression and this author is known for writing amazing series.

Spoiler alert, I did not finish this book (actually I didnt get very far at all) right in the beginning the alpha gets back to town knows his mate is there and goes out to find another woman for the night. Just not my thing. Really ruined the book for me.

This is a lion shifter reverse harem book but it is also so much more. There is a prophecy about to be fulfilled and so much more going on then anyone realises.

When these four come together it will start a chain of events that are related to a 1000 year old myth, when the queen of the pride is revealed.

Mysterious
This story is kind of meandering from mystery to mystery... sometimes it's a little confusing because it's hard to follow who is thinking at her and even which male is which. The story has a great build up of action and mystery but the ending isn't quite as good as I thought it might be... surely the three males should have stalked and captured their queen before the blood ceremony .... the ending leaves it in the air if there maybe another danger....not a bad read but this isn't my favourite Piper Stone story

Sadly disappointed
I was looking forward to this rather unusual story plot based on the teaser, but there were simply too many gaps in the flow with raised but never answered questions. In the end, it turned into one convoluted mess that had me wondering what the heck I had just read when the story suddenly ended. It felt more like a collection of rough idea notes for a novel that were never fleshed out and the build to the big ceremony was a fizzle. Maybe write a sequel on Hagen?

This book is one bumpy ride, in the best way. There are shifters & curses & secrets aplenty in this story & no one knows all of it. Scarlet (h) is a submissive woman who craves someone strong to give her dominance & pain, who has had visions she doesn't understand & was removed from her LA bayou home as a young child by her mother who would never explain why & wouldn't communicate with Scarlet's maternal grandmother. When Scarlet's mother passes away Scarlet has some sporadic contact with her grandmother, but any questions about her past or why her mother took her away are either answered cryptically or not at all.
Larken (H) left his LA bayou home years earlier to leave behind the 'fairytales', 'legends' & 'myths' that permeated his childhood & youth. But now the potentially cataclysmic 'Red Moon' is coming & with it the possible extinction of Larken's kind. The only thing predicted to stave off this horror is Larken's return home & that he & his 2 betas: Trevor & Bristol, find & bond together with their fated Pride Queen: Scarlet.
And as Larken heads home against his misgivings, Scarlet's grandmother dies drawing Scarlet back home for the 1st time since childhood.
The noose of ancient curses & prophecies, selfish & greedy shifters & humans tightens along with Larken & Scarlet realizing with increasing concern & resistance that MAYBE everything they thought was legend & fairytale, ISN'T.
The plot has mystery, murder, stalkers, threatening phone calls & angry villagers along with lust, steamy sex & dominating physical discipline by Larken, Trevor & Bristol for their mate Scarlet. And yet, the author (IMO) makes this all work without it seeming too much, too unbelievable or too muddled. I was interested in all the characters & was hoping for a HEA for Larken, Scarlet, Trevor & Bristol. There is another character I had my fingers crossed for who is threaded throughout the book & deserved happiness too.
But Larken, Scarlet, Trevor & Bristol are up against powerful forces, lies, half truths, betrayal & hate, & a positive outcome is not guaranteed & the future looms grim.
An excellent adventure & suspenseful story with lustful, sexy romance to spice things up.

I’m still reading this, but I’m not sure I’m going to do more than skim read the rest. Why? Well when the book has a chapter where the hero of the book hooks up with some bar chick and its written steamier and with more detail than when he and his true mate, the main female character, I’m pretty disappointed and grossed out.
So Lacken comes back to town after 5 years away, meets up with his two betas in a bar. The two betas he is destined to mate their mutual true mate with... he’s on the prowl for sex even though all 3 ‘know’ their fated true mate is in town and close. While he’s nailing the blonde bimbo from the against the wall in her house he has a vision of exactly who his true mate is which excites him even further as continues to bang this hook-up. As this scene starts I’m hoping he decides to walk away, but oh no it happens in steamy detail with him going bareback no less. Gross!
The next day he meets his mate, since he knows who she is now from his vision. The next, next day he nails her on her kitchen table in a much less described and less intense scene than the author wrote about him and the blonde from the bar. Next chapter the female main character wakes up all glassy-eyed over her encounter with the main lead and thinks about the three times they made love... we only got one lack luster hookup between them and don’t get the impression he’s sticking around for more that night.
When a hookup with someone named Candy is more intense than the true mate, I’m turned off on wanting to invest much more in this book. Admittedly I knew it was going to be menage and all three male characters would mate with her so I knew it would be steamy and a sex-filled read, but I don’t want to see the details of one of the men hooking up with someone else knowing their mate is near. Just gross!

Oh… wow. Claimed by the Beasts completely owned me—pun intended. Scarlet Dumane’s story had me simultaneously squirming, sighing, and cheering her on from page one. The tension, the raw desire, the way Piper Stone balances the danger with all-consuming heat? I was hooked.
Scarlet’s journey from running and hiding to finally confronting her fate was electric. The way her three mates claim every part of her—physically, emotionally, and yes, dominantly—had me blushing, then gasping, then reaching for a fan to cool down. And yet, amidst all the heat, there’s heart. Scarlet’s struggle to trust, to surrender, and to own her identity made me feel every twist of fear, longing, and surrender alongside her.
The bayou setting added such a rich, darkly sensual atmosphere, and the constant lurking threats kept me on edge. Scarlet isn’t just a heroine who gives in—she’s fierce, and watching her navigate her fear, shame, and desire was intense, emotional, and addictive.
If you love your romance dark, alpha-heavy, and wildly steamy with just the right mix of danger and domination, this one will devour you whole. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this sizzling series.

It’s not what it seems
Multiple 3rd person pov, Lafayette, LA, US. Not really a HEA, but does not appear to be a part of a series (yet). 4-5 peppers spice, some kink, definitely some triggers, not the least of which is physical abuse beyond cnc spanking and off page suicide. I was quite frustrated by some of the writing style. The main characters regularly would learn something and keep it a secret for at least several pages. Sometimes only hinting at what they had learned. Combining that with editing errors (I know that is not the story, but I’m reviewing the book as I read it, which means I do include a note if I am bothered by the editing issues), which ranged from potential missing punctuation to sentences I had to reread several times to figure out what they meant or were supposed to say. I thought the characters lacked some depth, though I could have overlooked it if that had been all. The ending felt rushed when the first 75% dragged a little. I know the anonymous character is supposed to create mystery and tension, but it was mostly annoying and fell flat for me. The ending, while resolving the major issue in this book, leaves more questions than answers, though not a true cliffhanger. I had hoped for something more from this book.

This is my first dark paranormal romance by this author and I'm once again obsessed. Is there a genre she can't write!? I loved everything about this book. With delicious spicy goodness and thrilling plot, this book had me flying through the pages devouring it like a savage.
These three alphas are so delicious that I was melting from the heat. The way they protect her and possess her, I almost died.
Piper Stone writes not only the best male characters but the FMCs are always not only beautiful and strong but have substance. Scarlett is a queen!
I loved everything about this story. Not only was it spicy but there was so much more. The mystery, action, and suspense made for a thrilling ride.

Great story, very tingling in the sex area, emotional when it needs, drama and dark in the rest. Her secret is buried under her grandmother’s voodoo magic, memories of her sad times are also buried but will be revealed when the time comes. Larken has been kept from secrets, lies and a half brother here knew about and there is a traitor in his Pride. His buddies, his best friends and betas Travor and Bristol are to be mated to Scarlet also to cement their leadership, King, Wueen and seconds in command.
SPANKINGS, LOTS AND LOTS OF CHEERY RED CHEEKS, treated like a child that’s under House imprisonment but her 3 mates, (Trev and Bristol have their own houses in their community but miles away... not technically all living together)

I loved this story with its mystery of the Red Moon curse and Scarlet who would be queen of the pride with her 3 males beside her and giving her a good spanking when she needs it. Scarlet’s grandmother told her stories about legends and curses which Scarlett didn’t believe but now that her grandmother has died things are starting to happen to which Scarlett can’t ignore. But with Scarlett and her mates Bristol, Larken and Trevor they will need to protect her more than ever with evil and betrayal among them and the curse that they will have to break or the pride will suffer and die. I really enjoyed this story and I will be looking out for more from this author, a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This was such a joy to read. It was a bit of a different focus compared to the many other books I have read by this author. It was really enjoyable. It's a reverse harem book with a big mystery. Scarlet comes back to tie the loose ends after her grandmother died. She soon find that all is not what it seems. Larken returns home, returning home after years away, to take up the mantle of his destiny along side his two best friends Bristol and Trevor. An ancient curse, cryptic messages, sacred books, human threats betrayal and a lack of time all come together to try and stop the ceremony that all know must happen if they are to defeat the curse.
This is a hot and steamy mystery that I found to be very enjoyable.

Claimed by the Beasts is filled with voodoo, prophecies, legends, and rituals. Now add in betrayal, lies, love, chemistry and fated mates to complete this paranormal reverse harem tale. I wanted to like it
I wanted to like it. Don’t really like giving books 1 stars but this one wasn’t fulfilling.The plot was not thought out at all. I’m more than convinced that the writer made up while writing; going in the motion.
Jesus. Can we have a heroine that doesn’t put herself in danger, weak, waiting for a man to save her and not a complete idiot; that’d be nice.
Also if you’re going to use 3rd person with the insight feelings of a particular character at least put their name in italics. Half the time I had to guess whose thoughts I was encountering.
It took everything out of me to finish this,

There's so much danger and suspense as well as the underlying knowledge that she's destined to be with Larkin, Trevor and Bristol, after hearing all the stories that she'd been told as a child by her grandmother. Scarlett had put that all down as fairytales until her grandmother dies and she returns to Louisiana and everything she's been told starts to unfold. There's dark forces trying to come between her and her mates and fulfilling the prophecy. Hot and steamy, deliciously sexy, as well as full of dangerous action. What a great read!.

I really enjoyed this book and once I started reading I found it hard to stop.
This isn’t your standard PNR book, there is so much more to this book.
Yes, there are very sexy, dominant shifters in this book and some very steamy scenes. But there is also a complicated curse, mystery and suspense. It has a creepy vibe at times and some twist and turns I didn’t see coming.
And it is about making choices even though it seems you don’t have any. The characters are likeable, not perfect, but that is what makes them interesting.
I am hoping there will be more books.

Claimed by the Beasts by Piper Stone is a story when you start reading it you will go WOW!!!. I loved reading this story cause it has to do with shifters. Piper Stone is becoming one of my favorite authors due to the fact that she makes the story come alive instead of just feeling like you are just readin it. She makes it feel like you are living the story and I love when that happens. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves shifters.

This story is very intriguing and has a lot of twists and turns in the plot of the storyline. Trying to figure out all of the murder and conspiracy that has taken place inside the pride and in the out lying town.a lot of heartache and a lot of love is in this story. Wish the ending would have let us know what there lil baby/cub was lol and it ended on a cliffhanger sorta so I’m hoping there is another one as there is still danger lurking close to Scarlet and the King(Larkin) and his pride…

I don't really know where to begin. I wanted to love this story so much, but I don't know I wanted more. I still have so many unanswered questions. I was here for it in the beginning and then I don't know. It seem a bit crazy and I want to know more and understand more. This is my first werelion book. Scarlet was driving me a little crazy with her lack of self preservation was a bit worrisome. It was a okay read for me. I just wanted a little more.

This book appears to be written by a highschooler who doesn’t understand the concept of cohesive writing. After reading this book and getting to about 80% the author abruptly ends the book with a few pages of a happy ending. The story ends at 89% and the remainder is a list of other book recommendations. The story lacks depth and cohesiveness. This book is incredibly hard to follow as the author switches perspectives between the characters frequently without giving the reader any context clues as to who is speaking.
