The author tied up EVERY loose end! We are given more tension, a big splash of danger from the past, and some awesome parenting from Crow! Conway and Sapphire are MIA but their story was pretty much concluded when Griffin saved Conway's a$$. I love Carmen and Bosco but once again, Griffin proves himself to be the epic character that he is in a conversation with the elder Barsettis (I still want a Griffin of my own). The emotional struggle for both Bosco and Carmen is evident throughout their story, as Bosco does not want to give up his way of life and Carmen does not want to give up her dream of a husband and 4 kids and living close to her family. There are many confrontations and several clashes that add to the excitement of this story. The author even gives us an Epilogue with an update on the characters a couple of years into the future - I consider epilogues like this to be the absolute cherry on top of a fantastic story. ( Now Ronan needs to find a woman but he's just too sweet for a Penelope Sky male lead unless he has an inner a-hole that we have not seen).

I received a copy from this fabulous author and once again cannot help but review this epic saga. I do highly recommend reading this series.

***ugly cry*** is this the last in the series? will miss the Barsettis. Out of all the books about the children of Crow and Cane, I loved the stories of Vanessa and Carmen the best. Bosco and Bones are just so sweet!!!

Mes pref resterons Vanessa & Griffin.

Aaaah I don't know how to feel right now. This was the last book from the Lingerie books. I think the ending was a bit rushed. Similar things happened to Vanessa, but they were more described and detailed. But I'm happy with the ending! I really liked the story of Carmen and Bosco, same as Vanessa and Griffin. I'm gonna miss these characters.

I don't know how this series went on for 15 books. and I really don't know why I read every single one. I guess I wanted to see how repetitive they could all be. welp, I found my answer. here are my results:

every single book in this series is the same. it's the same script, slightly different cast. they all end the same, or in similar variations of each other depending on the circumstance.

the only good thing I got out of reading every single book in this series was that I could write this review and make a Deborah Cox reference. to end this on a good note, go listen to "Same Script, Different Cast" by Deborah Cox and Whitney Houston if you like throwback R&B.

Lover in Lingerie is the 15th and final book to this amazing series written by Penelope Sky. Ever since Carmen came into the picture I’ve been wanting to see the fiesty and headstrong woman find her man and I’m so happy Penelope added a three-part book into the series for her and Bosco. These two came neck and neck with Griffin & Vanessa who were my favourite couple in the series but they ended beating even them, Bosco and Carmen were made for each other and I’m so glad that even this book there is some grinding having to be done against the overprotective dad ‘Crow’ it all ended perfectly for them. Although I’m sad to see the Barsetti family finish, I’m excited to see what Penelope has next planned to publish!

I understand that the Barsetti women need a powerful man so they follow their mothers footsteps and find a man like their father. But do all of these books need to be the exact same two stories? I still like them I just wanted something new. Bones are my absolute favorite character In this series. No one even compared to him but then I met Bosco. Woo I loved him so much! He’s right there with Bones.

“We’ll get through this—together. Because I’m not giving up on you, Carmen. I’m not gonna stop until you’re Carmen Roth.” This entire series was just phenomenal! From the interwoven plot lines, dynamic characters, family ties, heart tugging, and tearful moments of sadness and joy, the Barsettis are a force. I’m sad to leave this family/series.

Oh where to begin??? I have read EVERYTHING this author has written. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. I must say that Vanessa and Griffin were my favorite in the series UNTIL Bosco and Carmen arrived, holy moly they were HOT! I literally started crying at the end of the book, not because it’s sad it’s because it’s ending... I so want more from them, I would love to have a series with Ronan and have all to the Barsetti’s back in the mix.

Bosco was a Mans Man, Carmen was a spunky lady who is fiercely independent and that are off the charts HOT. If you haven’t started this adventure you’re missing out. I don’t want to give anything away, you need to read it for yourself.

WARNING: You will be sad too when it ends, because you don’t want it to end.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you...

A fabulous conclusion

The hypocrisy among the Barsetti men is thick and most annoying. There were times I rolled my eyes at the double standards.
But this conclusion was fabulous and so loved how all of the loose ends were tied up.

Knowing that there’s not apparently a book 16, i guess i have always gone into this hoping for the final installment of the series and closure all around. The way that the series has evolved and run from the first books about Conway and Sapphire all the way to now gave me the impression that finality and resolution would be the name of the game. The questions that beg to be answered though are around many of the characters – not just Carmen and Bosco, and it seems like we may not have enough runway to do all that.

So, to start with Carmen and Bosco, we know that their relationship is something real, we have watched it grow into the soul connection that all the other couples have – including the parents, but what i find to be most interesting with this dynamic is that there’s really no outside pressure here bumping up against them. Sure, we know that Cane will hate Bosco for what he stands for, and we know that Griffin has his own opinions because he’s from a similar world, but we don’t have the same level of risk in most instances that we have with the others.

That all changes of course when The Butcher takes a liking to Carmen and Bosco has to step in. It’s literally an apt description for what happens, all because The Butcher was put in the ring and didn’t lose, and that wasn’t a viable option for anyone.

As much as Carmen wants to leave because she knows in her heart that Bosco can’t give her the life and future that she wants, seeing how he will go to any length to protect her, how he makes her feel cherished, well it’s only through the means of a term agreement that she’s able to continue on. We all know that won’t last and play out how she wants, but oh well.

Intertwined into this story is that of Carter and Mia, and Luca. Seeing how that relationship has grown and developed into a family. Personally, I constantly wondering how Egor hasn’t discovered them yet, but well, that’s not for me to say since i’m not the author. Or then again, has he discovered them and that will have a bad omen on the ending? We all know that everyone’s actions have an affect on another family member, Vanessa getting kidnapped because of Sapphire, Griffin getting shot for Conway etc. So, who’s going to be the bait this time?

The power struggle is real here, yet the pull of love and romance from the Underground is even stronger. Peace and family are the name of the game, but it’s too much for some to compromise. Bosco isn’t in the same situation where he can walk away from his business for Carmen and be safe since he is the business – him physically and that puts everyone at risk. His brother Ronan though has ideas, and power, and desire for everyone to find what’s right for them that he serves as a voice of reason and a man who can help things go in the right direction. He makes Bosco realize that family is more important than work, trying to pull him out of the grief from their mothers death bit by bit, and he serves as a voice of reason for Carmen every time she leaves and pushes Bosco away.

What this means to me though is that Ronan should have his own story and i don’t see another installment hinting at that. @PenelopeSky – if you’re reading this – we need a Ronan Roth Story!

The passion and heat comes across in book 15 just as strong as it did in book 1. The plot lines, characters and depth in this final installment were just as compelling and intriguing as they were in very first book as well. I feel like i’m going to be suffering a bit of loss now that i’m done, even with the Epilogue that we were served since the Barsetti’s are an amazing family. I guess the good thing is that i can dive into the 3rd book in the Skull Kings series, but i’ll miss these guys!

Overall, I did enjoy the Lingerie series, probably because I'm a sucker for alpha males (in books, let's be clear :p). However, these books had too many mistakes, too many repetitions, sometimes a paragraph was placed twice in the same book, a whole paragraph! How does that even happen??? I felt like the author thought I was stupid or had a very bad memory because she kept repeading why the characters were attracted to each other, why they couldn't be together, why it was wrong to love each other, etc. Writing four books for the same couple is just absurd and unncessary here, one book for one story would have been enough!
Also the characters had the same way of talking, the same personnalities, the author literally toke the same characters but changed their physics and their background story a little bit and bam she had a new book.

However, I feel like this series could have some potential if she made it shorter, worked on her characters and had an editor (because I guess she doesn't have one?).

I literally could not put this book down. Everything was all concluded and I loved, loved the epilogue. I know other people have probably said this but I need Ronan’s story! I almost didn’t start this series because, well, 15 books but I’m so happy I did. Loved them all but my favorites are definitely Vanessa and Carmen’s stories. Who couldn’t love Griffin and Bosco?

there’s so much to unpack here. literally..15 books to unpack bc so much happened 😭.

conway & sapphire: 1-4
vanessa & griffin: 5-12
carter & mia: 10-12
carmen & broco: 13-15

conway & sapphire: although i do not agree with many of conway’s actions, their story grew on me. i loved how it was kind of a cinderella story? (i think). sapphire went from auditioning to become a lingerie model to marrying the man who was in charger.

vanessa & griffin: don’t even get me started on them🥹. oh my gosh..i can talk about them for years, i swear. i absolutely loved their story. classic enemies to lovers but, with a twist. i loved how griffen went from being this heartless man to having the softest heart and it was all because of her. he changed so much, and it really is all because of vanessa. she made his world go from back and gloomy to finally seeing the world in color. some parts definitely made me want to cry, but it’s fine. i never once got tired of them. also, i’m still mad at vanessa’s father. idc what anyone says. what he said to griffin was so uncalled for and disgusting. even though he apologized..he doesn’t mean shit.

carter & mia: i definitely needed more. two(ish) books was not enough. but, i loved it. luca has my heart🥹. he’s the sweetest kid..i swear. also..mia’s backstory absolutely hurt me. i literally cried. i loved how carter saved her from death (not rlly but pretty much). also..their epilogue 😭😭..as a chokehold on me. i can’t.

carmen & broco: i didn’t think i would like their story as much as i did. but, it was exactly like vanessa & griffin so, it grew on me fast. i loved how both her and vanessa fell for the men that were the most dangerous but also, the most powerful. it absolutely slays. they both have their men wrapped around their finger lmao. i thought their story was really cute (and smutty..obviously). i LOVED how broco fell first. ugh..too cute.

overall, i recommend this series. yes, it’s 15 books..but it’s so worth it. i’m sad to say goodbye tbh. i’m not ready 😭

I can’t get enough of these Barsetti’s! This is the final book in the next generation and this book concludes the story of Carmen and Bosco. It also ties up a few lingering questions from the other story lines. This book continues right where #14 left off.

Carmen is fully prepared to leave Bosco when her time is up, but then he pulls out all the stops…will it be enough to change her mind? What will Cane and Crow do if they find out about Bosco? And Bones? He thinks of Carmen like a sister and says that Bosco is the leader of the criminal underworld.

I don’t want to spoil any of the surprises but I can say the conclusion was more than I expected. You know how sometimes there is such a buildup and the end you are disappointed. Not in this case. We get the perfect HEA for all the Barsetti’s. Bosco and Bones/Griffin are just like Cane and Crow and they are perfect additions to the Barsetti’s. At times it felt rushed, but I think that was more that I didn’t want it to end. Unfortunately, it is over for now, but I’m sure the author will come up with something just as amazing shortly.

Hero 5 | Heroine 5 | Plot 5 | Writing Style 5 | Steam 5 | Romance 5 | Angst-Suspense 4 | Darkness 2 | Humor 1 | Secondary Characters 5 | Drama-Conflict 5 | Mystery 3 | Twists 4 | Action 4 | Pacing Steady | Dual POV | MF | Billionaire | Twists and Turns | Series Finale | Overall 5 Stars

3.5 stars for the final installment. After reading through all 21 buttons and beyond the buttons books, there are definitely a lot of editing mistakes and even more repetition. I never expected to love the Barsetti family so much and fly through these books in only a few weeks. Though most of them are super short making for quick reads. It was really hard getting through the first two Buttons books with all the graphic abuse details. The Beyond buttons books were much more tame and even though the children’s stories mirrored their parents it was so easy to root for their HEAs. Even when the family was aggravating and hypocritical. I also skimmed through a lot of the bedroom scenes as well. Some of these books really made me feel things though. I’ll miss reading about Griffin especially, but even Bosco grew on me by the end of this book.

Also I really felt like we got cheated out of Carter and Mias story. For 15 books I was hoping all the kids stories had equal time.

Long story short- these books are not for everyone. But if you continue to push through, you may find you really enjoy them despite the grammar/editing mistakes and repetitiveness you see people complain about in reviews. I probably wouldn’t recommend these to anyone just because of how dark some are and how they are written, but I don’t regret reading them either.

I am so sad I’ve read all the books and the series has ended.

I wasn’t sure if I’d get on board with Carmen’s story, having not read much about her. I don’t think she was even mentioned in the series until book two.

But I loved her. I loved Bosco.
I loved their story. Different from the others, sweeter, less violent, macho. It certainly made me the happiest out of all of the books in the series reading it.
Somehow managed to top Vanessa & Griffin. Respect him more than Griffin because he wasn’t a doormat to the Barsetti’s.
Probably could have gotten another book out of it. I don’t think we got to see a true reflection of her relationship with her family. Not like with Vanessa. Hardly checked up on her in that three month time frame.

I loved the love Bosco had for his Mother & Brother.
Most other brotherly relationships in the series, they are threatening violence towards them at all times.

I was also thinking how weird it was that Egor fell of the map in Carter’s story.
So that and everything else that’s come out in the wash rounded the entire series off nicely.

Absolutely well done to Penelope.
I will continue reading the rest of her books now. I don’t know what I’ll do when there’s nothing left of hers to read.

I’ll miss the Barsetti’s. Hopefully they’ll pop up in another series.

bland but readable

I’ve read all 15 books in this series. I saved writing anything until now. I always rate high because I don’t like being mean. However, these all probably deserved a 3/5. It’s the same story with different couples over and over again. Barely giving any of them dimension. The spicy scenes are exactly the same over and over and over and over and (catch my drift), I like spicy, but it was almost a chore reading it. One of the biggest problems is dumb editing mistakes through all the books (she was wearing a dress, but the following page when they were getting it on in the kitchen he was pulling down her jeans) there are several clarity issues like this, another is like positional stuff in spicy scenes. Like when did they get turned the other way? On what planet is a 5 foot something woman able to reach that far on a man who’s 6’3? How is he biting her lip while his manhood is between her baby feeders?

Then this last book. You spent all that time writing this and then seemed to be like “alright I’m throwing in the towel”, it was so rushed, plus we heard nothing about Conway and sapphire in like the entirety of the last 3 books. They were alright, they had great potential but fell short.

Wow just wow! I am so sad that this is the end of the Barsetti family, I have totally loved reading the continuation of Crow and Canes children and there love lives.
This story has been like a rollercoaster. One minute crying, then next in shock them laughing and back to surprise.
Penelope sky certainly knows how to keep you gripped and entertained.
We thought we could never have a soft spot for Griffin and we did and then Bosco comes to play and then routing for him and Griffin is on the back burner as Bosco is the new hero.
There is no surprise of his love for Carmen and he shows it time and time again, just need Cane to believe in the love. Can he break the love between them or can he accept it. You’d think he would learn with what Crow went through with Vanessa and Griffin. It’s nice to see Crow like the old Crow in this final instalment and calling Cane out on his behaviour.
This really is the best series by a long shot. Can not wait for the next new series from Penelope Sky, just hope it isn’t a long wait!

A great conclusion to the lingerie series and all four couples.
Loose ends tied and we see a small glimpse into the future for the six couples we’ve fallen in love with over time.
While I found the plot lines of the men too similar, the plots for Vanessa and Carmen were individual.
I particularly like the emphasis Ms Sky puts on family, it’s rather annoying when women in fictional stories are willing (sometimes too willing) to put their normal supportive loving families through trauma to be with one man looking at you there Ms Bella Swan
But both these women held their ground and rightly decided that one man is not worth giving up loving and supporting parents, and yes partners are important but you can’t really ditch a family that has always loved you for one person who says he does (need to emphasise that normally it’s the partners that are first suspects when someone is murdered/goes missing and rarely ever the parents)

But overall loved the ride, thank you Ms Sky for creating this universe and family for us to get lost in and love and enjoy.
