A great read about one of the greats in black gospel who, like sister Rosetta Tharpe, had a profound impact on rock and roll. If you are a fan of music history, then try and locate a copy of this long out of print book.

Only rating this as top stars because it is written for its deck of cards. It is harsh and have you crying fire similar to the book about or by LL Cool J.

Only book I could find on Clara Ward and the Ward Singers. Willa Ward is candid about Clara, their mother, and life in a gospel group. Loved the tidbits about different gospel and secular artist of the time. I felt that a lot more could have been said by Willa but I respect the way she described her subjects and her love for them is clear.
