Jason wants to please his female boss and boost sales. As with others his boss recommends hypnosis-therapy at a friends clinic. Jason turns out to be the best subject that qualified therapist Marie Lawson has ever had. The level of control Jason gives her is beyond anything she has experienced before. Jason apparently believes fully that Marie is in charge of his mind, and Marie wants to explore the possibilities that comes with having a loyal follower in all things.
While I think 4-stars is a little generous for this first chapter, I'm sufficiently intrigued and aroused by the concept to err on the side of optimism. I found it interesting that the story was told largely from the therapist's POV, denying us any of the main character's struggles or internal conflict with the hypnotic commands, and felt it helped reinforce the fact that HER desires far outweigh his needs.
The 20-locks of his hypnotic control were an interesting concept, and the fact that he was programmed to be either blank or blissfully happy in his submission appealed to me. Whether this stays 4-stars or possibly even reaches 5-star heights will depend on how the tease of the other therapist's exile, her island, and that Aztec-like temple play out.
He is now a very successful salesman and obedient slave to his hypnosis owner. Something that really seems incredible is about so I can't wait to read book 2.
