Well, this turned out to be better than I was anticipating. Especially considering how much I LOATHE the whole older woman - younger man" trope. Thankfully Jamison was only two years younger than Elodie, and the age difference wasn't harped upon. In fact, this was heading towards being a 4-Star book until Elodie made a decision SO beyond stupid and entirely absurd which then made her look like a complete doormat, and quite frankly at the point I thought Jamison should have cut his losses and moved the hell on. Since that isn't what happened, he apparently could get past her pathetically weak behavior, but I could not. Hence why I am only giving it 3-Stars. C'est la vie...

Only the Perfect comes as a charming sequel to Elle Thrope's debut, Only the Positive. While the first book was heart-wrenching, this one is a cute but deep story about a single mother finding love again, and a kind man who steps up and accepts that she comes with some extra "baggage." :)

Jamison is my favorite Thorpe character so far, and I can't wait for everyone else to read this book! It's a fast, satisfying read perfect for a cozy evening.

Epic wedding hookup

Jamison is my new book boyfriend. He's so laid back yet sexy as hell and I loved to watch him fall in love. This story opens with the wedding of Jamison's ex, who is a piece of work, and Elodie's ex husband. The two cheated when they got together, so this is the first wedding I ever read where I wanted things to go wrong. Luckily, this gives our hero and heroine a chance to make a little mischief.
They meet at the rejects table, and the attraction is instant. They end up drunk, doing an array of dance moves to the eighties music, then karaoke. Despite it not being part of the bride and groom's party plan.

The chemistry between this pair blew me away. Jamison, a bar man and a law student, is so sexy and cute, and Elodie so sweet and relatable. She's a working single mother whose son is her absolute priority, but when she gets to go home from the wedding with the hero, their night of passion is a whole world away from her normal life.

I loved their relationship, and how real their lives were. Elodie had body issues - she's gone through pregnancy so of course she does, Jamison makes her feel good about herself.
"You're the sexiest woman I've ever had in my bed, Elodie. I don't give a shit about your scars."
The conflict had my stomach in knots. Elodie only wanted the best for her son and the family-first sense in this book is strong. There's no pretending that children aren't damaged by relationship break ups, but love can and does heal.

I'll read anything that Elle Thorpe writes. Her flair for drama is off the scale and her characters so well drawn. This novella is steamy, funny, so cute, and gave me all kinds of chest pains.
Go, read this.

Elle Thorpe gives us Jameson's story for Book 2 in the Only You series, Jameson features in Only The Positive (Book 1) as Low's best friend. Even though she didn't plan on writing Jameson's story, after reading the sneak peak at the end of Book 1 I was glad this was the story that was coming next.

Book 1 - Only The Positive gave us some angst and a twist I hadn't seen before in a romance novel to date. Only The Perfect goes back to what makes a romance novel great, chemistry, a smidge of drama, humour, steam and two people that really need to meet their human.

Jameson is 23 and finishing up his Law degree, he agrees to attend his Ex Girlfriends wedding and when he gets there he finds himself sitting next to Elodie. Elodie is a 25 year old, newly single mother and divorcee and is the Groom's (Rick the Dick) Ex Wife, she is there with their 6 year old son, when she finds herself relaxing and actually enjoying the evening because of the Man she is sitting next to.

Only the Perfect was a sweet story with really likeable main characters. I loved how Elle tackled elements in finding love as a single mother who has only ever been with her high school sweetheart. The struggle with wanting to do what is right for you versus what is right for your family, plus the excitement of a new relationship and one where those feelings are reciprocated, for both Elodie and Jameson. I loved how Elodie's thought reflected her concern about 'trapping' Jameson in a relationship and having responsibility for a woman with a child; yet Jameson's feeling couldn't be more different.

Elle injected some beautiful moments into the book which I adored, she wrote Elodie as a strong woman and a brilliant mum and still managed to portray her youthfulness as a young Mother. Jameson just had me falling in love with him and all his understanding and sacrifice to do what was right for the little boy he cares about.

One little surprise was Brooke and how my feelings about her changed from the start to the end of the novel. I for one am very curious to read her Novella in December, the sneak peak had me hooked. Elle's writing is so easy to read, paced well, with characters that she has a clear path and understanding of. I look forward to seeing more people discover Elle Thorpe, I think she is an new Author to keep an eye on!

An invitation to a wedding. To celebrate the meeting of minds and hearts, or to be thankful of a lucky escape.

A night of misery turned into a night of magic, number 33 the source of happiness.

Dedicated to her son, her goal in life to be perfect. But is perfection overrated?

Waiter and bartender by shift, uni student by term and Sexy romantic man through one and all.

Eloise her confidence in tatters, her family unit shattered, but all is not lost.

Jamison unlucky in relationships, not actively looking for love, but Cupid is out so who knows what will happen ...

A lovely read, perfect for a lazy day huddled around a cosy fire. A cup of something hot and a biscuit to dunk and you have perfection.

I like the simplicity of this book. It appeals to me. I don't have to think just enjoy the ride.

Characters true and real, and a storyline that's engaging and flows beautifully. A lovely little read.

*I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book*

4 Stars

Only the Perfect brought the smiles. And it also brought the laughs. Little to no drama, just a sweet and adorable story.

Jamison and Elodie meet at their ex's wedding. They strike up a conversation and there's no denying the sparks that fly. They're having a good time laughing, dancing and just enjoying each other's company. It's turning out to be a night they'll both remember.

Jamison was such a good guy. I liked how he was patient and didn't pressure Elodie. These two were so cute together. I really liked the progression of their relationship. Both deserved to be happy after what happened to both in their previous relationships. And that fact that they found happiness with each other was an added plus.

All in all Only the Perfect was an enjoyable read. I can't wait to see what's next in this series.

I absolutely LOVED this book.
It was short and sweet, but I'm glad I signed up for the ARC.

Jamison was so sweet and kind, even when Elodie's life was turned upside down.

They met at their exes' wedding, and the sparks flew from there. They were hilarious together, much to the chagrin of the (un)happy couple.
From that moment on, their feelings for each other deepened, and I'm so glad things worked out the way they did.
Gah, it's so hard to write a review without giving too much away, so I'll end mine with this:
I was drawn into this story from the sneak peek at the back of Only The Positive, and I wasn't disappointed when reading the rest.

Elle has a new fan!

So much perfection

I’d adored Jam since like first meeting. So knowing we would get to see him getting his happily ever after made me so impossibly happy. You have no idea. Yes it was complicated for him and El to get there but damn if it wasn’t amazing too. Thrown together at the wedding for their respective Ex’s sparks fly and this pair find something really beautiful in something that started out so ugly. Also El has a son and I’m a solid sucker for single parent set up’s let me tell you.

⭐️ 3.5 "Perfect Is An Illusion" Stars ⭐️
I wasn’t familiar with the Only You series as Only the Perfect was my first read by Elle Thorpe. The blurb sounded really interesting, so when I was approached by the author for reviewing I didn’t hesitate. While it’s a series, I didn’t feel like I needed the background of the first standalone to totally enter this story.

Jamieson and Elodie meet at their exes wedding reception and hit it off immediately. I enjoyed their easy discussion and the way they’re so comfortable together from the start. Jamieson is really the sweetest hero. He’s very understanding and respects Elodie’s reticence to dive into a new relationship with him so soon after her divorce. He accepts her decision to take it slow because he knows she’s different and his connection to her is special. His bond with Elodie’s son Nathan is so adorable too.

As much as I appreciated this novella, I still felt there was a little spark missing for me between this couple. I think it’s mostly due to the fact that the story is quite short. Anyway, I still had a good time reading Only the Perfect and I’m intrigued about the other books in this series. I’m looking forward to read more books by this author!

Oh Jamison!!! You are just the sweetest - Elle, your writing painted the sweetest picture of Jamison’s character... it’s funny how I didn’t even realise how short this book was until I flipped over and it said ‘epilogue’ lol

This story was great! Tho I was annoyed and wasn’t happy at a decision made by one of the main character’s - this was still a FUN read with a whole lot of sweetness from Jamison. I felt for Elodie... she was too kind and just so lovely!

Jamison and Elodie have that ‘sparks flying’ bug!!! Or the ‘honey-sweet’ bug!!! They caught it easy the first time they met... which was at their exes wedding (because their Exes were marrying each other lol)... a hell of a introduction if I say so myself!!! Elle, you are crazy for creating that intro 😉. And that sneak peek at the end about Bree? I can say I’m so ready for Post-Nutter Bree lol

Give this a chance readers. There’s a sweet Aussie guy waiting for your reply!!!

Only the Perfect is the 2nd book in the Only You series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but I’d recommend reading the first book as well. You ‚see‘ characters from the first book in this one, but that’s just my opinion!

Elodie is a newly single parent and meets Jamison at the wedding of both their ex-es. Which is kinda weird 😉 They both kinda Insta-like each other, and spent the night together.

Elodie is two years older, and trying to be the ‚adult‘ person, and not bothering Jamison with a kid, when he’s not even finished getting his law degree.

There’s a little drama llama with the ex-es, but not too much. A lot of love going on ❤️

This is a quick lovely read, and I can totally recommend this book / series!

Release is Nov 8th.
I-book release is Nov 6th, and won’t be available for long.

I kindly received an arc for an honest review!

Only The Perfect is the second book in the ‘Only You’ series, it follows Low’s best friend Jamison whom we met in Only The Positive, and the woman who will capture his heart. Elodie Chalmers. These two have the unwanted pleasure of being at wedding of their respective exes.
Jamison hated the way his ex treated him, especially after the way he discovered she was cheating on him and then she had the nerve to invite him to the reception? Well, Jamison would never say no to free food and booze!!!.
Elodie was shocked when her high school sweetheart up and left her just a few weeks earlier, and now she’s at his wedding… with their six year old son in attendance. It’s crazy and wrong, but what can she do?
Suffer in silence until she can leave. Not for one minute did she think she’d meet anyone there. Never mind her ex’s new wife’s ex-boyfriend or end up leaving with him
Not quite the normal way to hook up, but that’s what they did, only to realize they have more feelings them either of them expected.
Jamison is ready to give his all, almost from the get-go, but Elodie is more gunshy and even though they share an explosive chemistry and can’t get enough of each other, she’s wary of getting in too deep, too fast. It’s not just her she has to worry about, she has a young child who could get hurt too.
Jamison is hot and sweet, he’s sex on legs but when pushes for more than Elodie is ready to give, she backs away, know her baggage is not what he signed up for.
Jamison is made of stronger stuff than she knows and isn’t ready to give up.
I loved Jamison, and I was pretty fond of Elodie, especially when she finally found her voice. This was a quick, fast paced and sexy read.
As I was reading the end, I knew that one of the secondary characters was about to get their own story and I thought to myself. Oh, no, no way can this person be redeemed. But, you know what? This is the attraction of Elle Thorpe’s writing, and proof of how good an author she is. Because, I do want to read the next book and I’m actually looking forward to it.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

Elodie is at the wedding of her recently ex-husband for their young sons sake. Jamison is attending the wedding of his ex-girlfriend simply for the free food and free booze. When Elodie and Jamison find themselves at the same time, the nightmare of a wedding actually turns into a night they won't forget. While Jamison is ready to jump into things with Elodie with both feet she is far from ready. She has her son to think about and worries that mentally her and Jamison are at different points in their life. When her ex shows back on her doorstep, Elodie has to decided whether she can sacrifice her happiness to keep the family she once had together.

I really enjoyed the complete story arc of Only The Perfect. Elodie and her son were hard not to love. Jamison was a sweetheart and I enjoyed the honesty and realistic relationship he formed with Elodie's son. I wish it had taken place over a longer period. It seemed way too rushed, it was a bit insta lovey but not wt the same time. The story just would have felt more believable if it didn't take place all in the matter of a few weeks. Especially with Elodie fresh out of a divorce from the only man she has ever been with. Also, I would have liked more of a description of Jamison, I struggled to picture him in my mind, and his overall character fell a little flat for me.

I am really enjoying Elle Thorpe's Only You series and can't wait to see which book follows up Only The Perfect .

"I took his hand, unable to ignore the way my skin tingled as our fingers touched. I liked the way my hand felt in his. I liked the way my body tingled as he stood next to me."

This book was amazing, and I’m very thankful the I got the opportunity to read an ARC! It was so good that I could not put it down and read it from start to finish in one go!

It was very easy to read and whilst it’s a part of a series (which I highly recommend reading) you can read this book as a stand-alone.

Jamison is this sexy law student that works part time in a bar, who is funny sweet and very charming. Whilst he down the his ex cheated on him and he’s now invited to their wedding, he’s going to make the best it.

Elodie is now s single mum to her little man Nathan, and whilst her ex hurt he she is still trying to be strong for her son, she is the caring, kind and loving women who is guarded after everything she has been though.

Single mum Elodie has been force to go to the wedding of her recent ex-husband who is marrying the women who he cheat on her with all for the sake of her little boy. Whist seated at the table in the very back she meets Jamison who is only there for the free food and drink because it’s also happens to be his ex getting married as well.after getting to know each other well and some karaoke singing they leave for a night that neither one of them will forget. After getting to know each other and possibly starting to really like each other, her ex comes back to throw a spanner in the works!

I highly recommend you all go and pre-order this book now.

I'm loving Jamison!!!

Jamison and Elodie meet at their ex's wedding. Sparks fly, there is laughter, theres entertainment and they are having a heck of a time with each other!!!!! They really can't get enough of each other. Jamison knows that Elodie isn't the type of woman he normally dates. He knows she comes with a child and baggage known as the ex husband.

Jamison really is a sweet character. He knows he wants her, and its not for the short term. They are really sweet and their relationship is conveyed through Elle's writing, easy, comfortable, butterflies, I felt all of that when reading it. It was great seeing Low and Reese. I am actually looking forward to Bree's book. I ABSOLUTELY HATED HER, but I'm glad she had a come to Jesus moment, I was hoping she would redeem herself. I may have squealed when I saw the sneak peak!!!

I really enjoyed Elodie and Jam's book!!! What a sweet hero.

Love Shack.. Baby.

Only the Perfect by Elle Thorpe is the second book In the Only You series. She has certainly once again outdone herself creating a fantastic fun read.

This book is classified as a novella but it certainly doesn’t read like one. It flowed wonderfully and didn’t feel rushed like some I’ve read.
Jamison and Elodie’s story was perfection. Loved the storyline; It had a wonderful mix of humor, emotional drama and irresistible chemistry. I couldn’t get enough of these two, I didn’t want it to end.

I am so glad she chose to write Jamison’s story, he needed his own HEA plus, it was a great addition to the series

Only the Perfect is the 2nd book in the Only You series and I enjoyed every word of this book!

When Jameson gets invited to his cheating ex’s wedding he decided why not, free food and alcohol; how could you say no. Seated in the very back he meets Elodie who is the Grooms ex-wife. They stick with each other and find they have an instant attraction which leads them straight to the bedroom. Elodie has to make a decision, heal their family or be with the guy that loves not only you but your son like his own.

I personally really enjoyed this book, Jameson and Elodie are such a loveable couple. Their story is young, mild in drama and pulls at all your heartstrings.

I cannot wait to read more from Thorpe.

Just like Elle Thorpe's first book in the Only You series, this had my attention from page one. Only The Perfect was well written, flowed perfectly and a was a quick read. Oh, the feels in this book! Anger, frustration and I laughed in this one too.

I love Elodie’s personality. She was smart, sweet and knows what her heart wants but most of all wants her son to be a happy little boy. I enjoyed meeting Jamison in book one, Only The Positive. I love his big heart, his love for his friends but most of all his love for Elodie and Nathan, Elodie’s son.

This is the second book I have read by Elle Thorpe and she is quickly becoming one author I will be instantly one clicking. I cannot wait to read Bree’s story in book three.

A light, fun, great read! It grabs you from the very beginning, and leaves you wanting more. This is a book you won’t be able to put down!

I really enjoyed the characters. They are real and I definitely connected with Elodie and Jamison. Elodie is a wonderful mom, who was wronged, and doesn’t put her happiness first. Jamison is sweet, a bit younger, who wants to be in her life. They have a real spark and there is so much heat between these two. I love that they are so comfortable with each other when they first meet, and just genuinely enjoy being with each other.

I enjoyed it from start to finish. A top notch read!

Superbly written, sweet, emotionally deep, and heartwarming! The storyline is flawless, funny, witty, well-written, quite enjoyable, and very interesting. The story flows smoothly and moves along at a brisk pace with excitement, ups and downs, family drama, and a mix of emotions on every page. The chemistry between Jamison and Elodie is powerful and intense. The sex scenes are so beautifully written and described I could actually feel the intense love the characters have for each other pouring out of the pages. Definitely recommended!

This is a story with characters that will melt your heart. Jamison is a keeper. I like that he is not the stereotypical bad boy with an attitude. He really is a sweet guy with a big heart. I loved him from the beginning. When he and Elodie meet at the wedding of the exes it was classic. I loved them both from the impromptu karaoke and dance to the photo booth. Their romance was far from perfect which made it so much sweeter. It was more realistic than perfect. Although Elodie made a huge mistake she did it with good intentions. Sometimes things happen so we can appreciate what we have.

This is a quick and steamy read - imagine going to your ex’s wedding after they cheated on you…Jamison figures it’s a free night of food, booze and bridesmaids. Except he meets Elodie and they have this instant attraction…oh yeah, and she is the groom’s ex. Why not turn the evening into a night their cheating exes will never forget!!

I really loved Jamison - he was completely swoon worthy! I loved how he was supportive of Elodie and really made her feel beautiful.

Elodie had really struggled with her confidence and body image and we see how that affects some of her decisions. However, we get some character growth and - no spoilers - but there is a satisfying moment towards the end!

I really liked both narrators! You could definitely feel the chemistry between Jamison and Elodie. Overall this was a cute and fun read!

Swooning here!

Jamison, such a sweet man. So thoughtful and dreamy.
Elodie, trying to do the right thing, never really putting herself first. Then comes Jamison.

From the first page their connection sucks you in. I loved how real they were. Fumbling moments in the bedroom, awkward moments on their dates etc.

Elle has managed to write the perfect story again. I look forward to Bree's story.

Elle Thorpe has done it again — but in a fresh new way. Where Only the Positive was a little more angsty, Only the Perfect has sweet, single-parent romance written all over it. To be honest, Jamison was probably the least interesting character for me when I was introduced to him in Only the Positive, simply because he didn’t have a big role so I felt like I knew him the least. But Thorpe did what she does best — draws you in quick, makes you feel all the feels, and breathes so much raw, authentic life into her characters. I LOVED Jamison and Elodie from their first endearing and funny encounter at their ex’s wedding. The energy simply sizzled between them, jumped off the page, and had me rooting for them from the get go. And can we talk heat? Holy sizzle, Batman! If you loved the chemistry between Low & Reese — wait till you get a peek into Jam & El’s whirlwind romance. Elle is a master at sexy, tear-your-panties-off, crazy heated, angsty, “open-door” love scenes that leave you breathless and begging for more. And she delivers. Jamison quickly rose in rank for me after getting to know him in Only the Perfect. He’s one of the good guys. One of the sexy AF good guys—but a good guy none-the-less whom you just want to find his happy ever after. If you love Colleen Hoover or Melissa Foster, you’ll want to devour Elle Thorpe’s hot new series.

This book had me in so many emotions! Especially in the beginning with how Jamison and Elodie were at the wedding! I was in stitches! As any new relationships there is ups and down, Jamison being the sweetest guy and Elodie the strong, sometimes stubborn single mom who is trying to do whats best for her son. There was definitely a part I connected to where Elodie was being too stubborn to see what was right in front of her. You're definitely going to want to read this book!
