I'm a mother, wife, homemaker, pet lover, teacher, student, reader, writer, drinker of tea & wine (depending on the time of day) and sleep-deprived dreamer. I live in Syracuse, NY, with my husband, Doug (also a writer with books available on Amazon), our three children and too many furred & feathered friends to list!
Nora and Harvey Nathaniel are trying to make their Thanksgiving celebration a very special and happy one. Their daughter, Grace, has just become engaged to Jacob Giordano and Jacob’s mother insists that they spend Thanksgiving in the Giordano family home.
Nora and Harvey are willing to spend the Thanksgiving weekend with Jacob at his family’s home. In fact, they are ready to do just about anything to ensure Grace and Jacob's happiness.
Tensions are running high in the Giordano’s household. They ratchet even higher when, in the middle of the night, there is a terrible scream and a man’s body is found at the bottom of the stairs.
Nora sets out to find the killer, even though the Police Chief dismisses her help as mischief and idol curiosity. When a second murder occurs, Nora’s problems are compounded.
Who killed these people? Are the killings related? Will there be more murders? What is the motive for the murders? Does someone hold a grudge against the Giordano family? Perhaps the trouble is due to Jacob's wanting to marry Grace, rather than the woman chosen by his mother!
Nancy McGovern continues to write stories that keep the reader entertained and reading well into night, unless they can force themselves put the book down (which is no easy task). They challenge the reader to determine the culprit's identity! The chapters are short enough to let the reader convince themselves with, “Just one more chapter, then I’ll go to sleep.”
Nora's daughter is all grown up and looking forward to her wedding. Nora wants to be happy for Grace, but the groom's family is nuts! Especially the soon to be mother in law for Grace. But that isn't Nora's biggest problem, she is the prime suspect in a murder case, so she might be in jail when the happy couple says I do. Can she find the real killer before then? Maybe it is the groom's crazy mother? Who is it? You will have to read this book to find out.
Nancy McGovern has done it again! Outstanding performance in a story with many twists and mayhem. The author allows readers to join in the mystery of family held secrets. Characters involved throughout this one have many differences but show how even at the worst, truth always wins. I can hardly wait to read the next book in this series
Sometimes the road to hell was truly paved with good intentions, The Truth shall set you free. It is not flesh and blood that make us family, but the heart. Okay, enough of that stuff. I really had trouble writing a review without giving something away. I enjoyed the story and highly recommend the book.
Great mystery, Nora and Harvey's daughter Grace gets engaged, and they are invited to Thanksgiving at the soon in laws home. Of course, things don't go well and a murder was the icing on the cake. This was a real hard on to figure out and to put down, if you like a good mystery, this is for you.
Nora is back at her finest, solving another mystery. There are a lot of suspects and twists to keep you guessing right up to the end. Another wonderful addition to the Milburn Series! I applaud author Nancy McGovern for writing another hit!
Nora and her family are embroiled in in a murder mystery.

I enjoyed this adventure of the unusual Thanksgiving day celebration, the evening and morning where a little different than most feasts. The addition of mystery and romance helped it along.
Take a are off family, add family secrets, and a murder of two. I figured out who fun it really quick, but it was fun seeing how the author brought it all together!
Another great murder mystery for Nora solve. Though it's a little too close to home, Nora must discover who among her daughter's future in-laws did it and find out if there will be a wedding!
