Not quite up to the previous in the series
There's a lot of hand waving in this short entry in the Masks series. Stars lost for a magic dual won because of Technicolor magic in just a sentence or three. Also, the author continues the trend of a main character who is male transformed into a female this time without her permission. In the previous books they were shortchanged and it was voluntarily (that's the only reason I'm bringing it up).

New Faces
This volume is in the same setting but focuses on new characters and a new team. A bit formulaic but well executed.
Worth the read for any Masks reader, and a thematic introduction for new readers.

Good Book
I really enjoyed this book. I like that it is in the superhero genre but a concentrated more on magic and gods than other superhero novels.
